The worst thing about mental illness is you have to look after yourself a disgusting amount. I know it's the only way to actually be in a fit state to look out for others, but it still feels wrong.

Emeth: Then I'll be that friend who's the opposite kind of annoying, whispering "Do it, you know you want to..."

Judging by the Internet's definitions of introversion and extraversion, you'd think everyone's either an extreme hermit or a party animal with no in between.

Bio

A frazzled British thirtysomething cat mum with something of a tea addiction.

I like a wide range of RP genres, but have two absolute favourites: Pokemon and magical girls. (If someone manages to combine the two, I'll be VERY happy!) I post fairly regularly, but sometimes shit mental health days crop up - if that causes any delays, I'll try to resume posting ASAP.

"Destination reached: Wyndon."

Astrid put on an exaggerated robotic voice as she leaned towards the taxi window, watching the city lights draw closer, the Corviknight's wings reflecting fluorescent colours. "Prepare for landing." She glimpsed the cabby rolling his eyes at her, but paid him no heed.

Beside her, a Raichu jumped up and down on the seat to get a better look. Astrid chuckled. It had been a while since she'd seen Comet excited about something, and this would be a good opportunity to bond with her in between league duties. Many of the other gym leaders appreciated Comet, even if crowds didn't so much any more, so this could boost her morale.

Upon landing, she thanked and paid the cabby, striding out with the Raichu in tow. "Well, we're here," she said, heading down the street as the night breeze rippled her galaxy print dress. It probably didn't quite fit the ultra-formal dress code, but who was to say futuristic and fancy couldn't go hand in hand? Unova's Electric gym leader Elesa made a career out of pulling off the combination.

Before long, The Last Dahlia came into view. Astrid winced at the ornateness of it all. She wasn't one for opulence - it brought back less than pleasant memories. Even so, the knowledge that her friends would be there helped her look past it. Turning her grimace into a smile, she looked down at Comet. "Now for the mission briefing. Our task... Is to have the time of our lives!"

With that, they hurried inside. Spotting the familiar group gathered on plush bar seats, Astrid grinned and waved. "Heyyy! Been a while!" Taking a seat next to her gym comrade, Isaiah, she turned to the bartender. "One Aurora Jungle Juice please."

Once he was done, she paid him and took the drink, which glowed brilliant blue in the dim light. Sipping the luminous concoction, she glanced around the group. "So! How's it all been going on your ends of the galaxy?"
@TheNoCoKid Magical girl Rallen Knight Calliope is here! *dramatic pose*

Name: Zircon Mistmoon
Age: Young Adult
Gender: Female

Magic: While technically a water fairy, Zircon specialises in ice magic. She can manipulate water in its liquid form to a small extent, and breathe in it, but her true talent lies in freezing it and generating snow. Extreme cold doesn't hurt her, although high temperatures weaken her.

Appearance:

Zircon has the same dark-blue hair and blue tinged skin as most of the water fairies in her family, but that's where the similarity ends. Her skin has a frosty sheen to it, as do her wings, which are transparent. She dresses in muted shades of blue and grey, eschewing the bright colours worn by most fairies in her former hometown.

Standing at 3 inches (5'8" when she takes on human size), she's tall for a fairy. Her sharp features add to her perpetually unamused look.

Personality: As is fitting for the ice element, Zircon isn't the most expressive fairy. She shows emotions in a subdued way at best, with exasperated sighs and eye rolls. Most of the time she's quiet, only speaking when she truly has something to say.

Due to her past of having been pressured to join in activities that weren't for her, she dislikes pushy people, and those who want her to change to suit them. Her experiences have left her without much of a sense of fun, and she's often told she needs to lighten up. Despite this, she cares about others more than she lets on. Like cracks in ice, sometimes her gentler side will show through the cool and aloof facade.

History: Zircon was born in the wrong kingdom, the sunny Fey Tropics. Although most of the water fairies there thrive in sun, sea and sand, way back in the Mistmoon family line were a few fey who used water magic differently, with an affinity for ice. Zircon took after said ancestors, with a silvery sheen to her skin from birth, and a dislike of the warmth. While other children played on the beach, she'd retreat deep into the cool ocean, and the few times she resurfaced, she'd make it snow. This caused no small amount of conflict, as she'd either get called a grumpy stick in the mud, or get accused of ruining the merriment.

As soon as she was old enough to leave home, she moved to a much more fitting location, the Minty Mountains. Appreciating the peace and quiet, she took up sculpting. Yet from time to time, she'd return to the Fey Tropics. Only out of duty, she'd claim, although anyone could tell she was still attached to her family and the other fey she'd grown up around, no matter how overbearing they'd been trying to get her to keep up with them.

One such fairy was a childhood friend. Coralie Seabreeze would annoy Zircon no end, and does to this day, who despite it all still hangs around. Sometimes, Coralie visits her in the Minty Mountains - being used to the oceans's chill, she doesn't mind the cold. Even though Zircon expresses irritation at Cori's boundless energy and playful pranks, she views her as a cherished friend - and possibly something more. It was Cori who convinced her to come along to the festival, which Zircon hopes she doesn't regret.

Other:
- She sculpts with stone and ice. She's working on mastering a spell to keep ice from melting, so as to make permanent structures, although right now she can only do this with tiny figurines.

- Has visited Transfeyvania a few times to sell her wares, and likes it since it's one of the few places in the Feywilds with a muted aesthetic. She thinks dark fairies get an undeserved bad rap.
@Crimson Flame Thanks! Sky can expect a lot of frosty glares from her.
Yay, RP is up!! Here's my chilly fairy:

@Crimson Flame
I'm kinda getting Cheren and Bianca vibes from George and Oriana. The guy who acts tough/values strength, and the book-smart yet naive and sheltered girl.
@Crimson Flame @Suicharte

This wasn't how Oriana had envisioned her first battle.

She'd imagined it'd be a friendly match against a travelling companion. Not an actual serious fight against a criminal. One who undoubtedly had much, much more experience than either her or George. Just as she'd feared, the boy didn't back down, exuding confidence and belittling them instead as he sent out two canine Pokemon.

"She's a Roggenrola, NOT a rock! Carnelian, use, uh..." Before Oriana could give a command, the Yamper rubbed its sparking face against Carnelian. The Roggenrola tried to kick out, but toppled onto her back, twitching, sparks dancing across her rocky carapace. Paralysed.

"Ah! Carnelian!" Oriana crouched and helped the Roggenrola back up, yelping as pain shot through her hands from the static. Flexing her fingers, she stood, at a loss for what to do. Realisation dawned like a weight sinking through her that she didn't even know Carnelian's moveset. For a second, she found herself as immobilised as her Pokemon, but pushed through the panic and jabbed at her DexWatch. Her entire body tensed as she knew just how pathetic she looked, her inexperience plain to see, but she had no choice.

"Fire versus rock, huh?" Trying to hide her fear by talking tough, she glanced from the Houndour to the screen - and her stomach dropped. Carnelian had yet to learn a rock type move. More painfully aware than ever of her newbie status, Oriana nonetheless forced her expression into one of confident resolve. "You can do this! Tackle the Houndour!"

For one awful moment, Carnelian looked unable to move, but she shook off the convulsions long enough to launch herself at the Houndour. Oriana watched, fists clenched, hoping against hope she and George had a chance against this thug.
