Cool, I'll edit that in

Mabel looked excited at the thought of Ariel joining her, though when she heard why, her expression turned more somber. "I thought I did, but he turned out to be a bunch of gnomes in a trench coat."

The Huntsman seemed to have an idea though, getting a name out of Ariel, who went on to explain the drama of their first meeting. Mabel's eyes went wide, and excitement grew in her voice, "Well that settles it! We got to get you two back together!"

She thinks for a moment about who that could be. She gets the excited look again, "Oh Tirasea has a Prince Eric! I think he matches the description! And he's the heir to the throne too!"
Also, if Mabel and Ariel are heading off somewhere together, they'll definitely be needing someone with a level head there to keep them from causing mass mayhem.

You're not wrong. . .

Hmmm…
Go ahead and make a History check.

There is a chance he may know since he works for Queen Regina Grimhilde, but…
How well does the Huntsman pay attention to Princes?

I'll make one as well, Mabel would pay attention to local princes (and royalty in general).

That's a 20!

Mabel would be good with that, shopping trip with new friends.

Mabel glanced at what was left of the rest of her food. All this had kind of put a damper on this meal with new friends thing. Some of the others continued talking, sorting out that Shang and Kida wished to accompany Pacha to the palace. That seemed like enough people to guard him. . . probably. The palace sounded impressive too, but also like it was full of toxic people. Plus that would be a major sidetrack to getting home.

Mabel slipped her juice off the table and downed the rest of it quickly. Then, ignoring what was left of the food, she slipped out of her chair and adjusted the straps on her pack. “Well, since that sounds settled, Mabel here” she indicated herself by pointing with her thumbs, fingers still wrapped around the straps, “needs to find herself a map, so she can get back to her great uncle's village. Thank you everybody, it's been weird.”

She shot the group finger guns. Then she looked over at Pacha and the bandit peasants, “Don't suppose there's a mapmaker's shop nearby?”
I figured that might be the case for some of the party members. That's why I asked earlier to see who was going and who wasn't. 😅

Yeah and it should have been discussed, but we appear to have all kinda dropped the ball at that. For my part, I think I was at work at the time.

Edit: Okay, there's a post.
Got a post in :) How is everyone doing? Excited to get into the story? Cause I sure am

Yeah, just not sure where I go from here. Going with Pacha doesn't feel like the kind of thing a big group of random strangers just does (an established party, sure). Mabel would probably be more 'got to find a map, get back to my town' so maybe I'll go with that.

Surge followed Juniper and the other fairies' voices as they all fluttered upward. Juniper explained to the others the visual path into town, reiterating that the forest was dangerous. It was kind of sad that the youngest among them needed to issue such warnings. He smiled softly. When he sensed her familiar presence, he commented softly, “You've been so brave today June Bug.

Hearing his and his daughter's names called out as they reached town, Surge fluttered over. Officer Sundew explained the situation, fairies were turning to stone here as well. To Zircon's comment he added, “Right, did anyone see or hear anything when it happened? We came back here hoping to get Mrs. Greypetal's help.

Well sure, I found the road eventually,” commented Mabel as the bandits claimed that was the only way to survive the jungle. Shang jumped in, and Mabel looked a little disgruntled at his questioning, though the bandits seemed to appreciate it. As he moved onto questioning Ariel, she sat back and mumbled to herself, “What's wrong with my crossbow?

Interestingly, the peasant they'd been stalking took this all with compassion and offered the men a gold coin. They expressed dissatisfaction at the small amount, though in Mabel's opinion guilt tactics might work better if they hadn't been ready to throw down their fellowmen or gut Ariel at the slightest provocation. But on the other hand, it was true that Ariel had started it. She tried to shove that thought aside, “It's more than you came here with though, and maybe he'd be willing to bring your message to the emperor? It seems like there might be a few issues around here.” She glances at the bowl of Rolly-Pollys.
TBF, she hasn't shown that she has magic powers yet.

Edit: Mabel's also probably disappointed she didn't see a jaguar.
