It’s a network of empires who long since expanded through their own universes, and have banded together for mutual protection under one banner as they’ve stretched into others as one entity. It’s quite sizable, at this point.

My name is Orthrus, for better or worse. I just meant my origins are not of Earth. Though, many in the Interuniversal Alliance do come from there. And my ancestry probably goes back there too, at some point.

Mine? Not even remotely. One might call someone with my past starborn, perhaps. Born and raised on no world. But, a notable amount in the IA would. Their influence is strong, and widely known.
