The only time I've shown interest in a Nation RP was something based off Candyland of all things, but it was dead in the water before all of us were able to submit CSes. A shame too,

Current Haunts: Symphony on High - Finn/Timekeeper (Co-GM)
...Yes that's it. Literally in nothing else atm, sue me.
Yep, any sources, whenever she's affected by a [Flight] Effect Note, basically, regardless of sources.
Oke, slight problema, it's kinda pointless if you can give yourself flight for free anyways. Especially since we don't know if you'll be facing someone/something with the specific note too, much less have someone on your team available to help there.
Boss man thinks the perma +1 in that regards is a bit too much for all that. But I get that it'd be weird to have a flightless Angel outside of Maverick, so maybe keep just the self flight? If not we're always open for brainstorming something else.
Finnegan Vanhorn The Timekeeper Finn, Fable, Timekeeper
AGE:
13
SEX:
Male
APPEARANCE:
Notably short for his age, Finn's mundane appearance is admittedly nothing remarkable. Brown, messy hair and brown eyes, he tries his best to strike a balance between dressing nice and prioritizing comfort. Anything constricting or in a texture that feels off by any means is a hard pass.
Transformed, Finn's appearance takes on a more industrial, steampunk-ish aesthetic. A red jacket and dress shirt with a corset wrapped around him, accented with different metals and gears make him look the part of a mechanic. Which is ironic considering what his outfit hides here. His eyes take on a more golden color in this form, and he wears both a pair of gloves and some goggles.
GRIMIORE:
A silver pocket watch.
INSTRUMENT:Atropos
A weaponized chainsaw, said to be be able to cut the strings of time. After nearly dying at Betty's hands, Finn figured he'd need something more stronger than a simple fencing sword.
GRADE: Gold KEYWORD: Greatsword DAMAGE TYPE: Arcane DAMAGE: B SPEED: C SENTINEL: C SPECIAL: Stopped-Clock Illusion: Wounds afflicted by this weapon cannot be healed for a few minutes, but effect notes such as Stabilize still retain their function. Finn can also end the debilitating effect early himself if circumstances call for it.
STYLE:Clocksmith's Jacket
It's a nice one isn't it? He dons the fancy jacket in his Esper form.
GRADE: Silver PHYSICAL: D ARCANE: C CHAOS: D SPECIAL: Industrial: Arcane defense increases +1 Rank against lightning based attacks.
GENRE:Chronometry
The Timekeeper's magic, though leaning away from offensive movesets, revolves around the concept of time. He's basically a support-type esper that, even if he can hold out on his own, works best with other people.
GRADE: Gold ELEMENT: Lightning NOTES: [Paralysis (4), Speedster (2)] Damage (2), Damage X (6), Slow (4), Blink (4), Restrain (4), Minor Heal (4), Heal (16), Quicken (0), AoE (2), Major Heal (18), Stabilize (0), Purify (6) SPECIAL: Overclock: Technology evolves over time, and the Timekeeper is no different. A healer as much as he is a detriment. Buffs casted onto ally Espers grants them a temporary Damage buff for the duration of the melody. White Magic notes are always stronger by +1 rank.
LEITMOTIF:Clockwork Soldier
Given the nature of his transformed state, the Timekeeper is essentially a clockwork cyborg.
GRADE: Bronze SPECIAL: The exterior of his body is akin to a ball-jointed doll or a puppet, while the interior is made up of gears; among other things that goes into a machine. His blood also turns into an amber-colored oil. All purely cosmetic for now.
PR:Hands of Time
Sometimes you can't rely on your esper form alone.
Pistol, Medical Supplies, Infrared Goggles GRADE: Silver SPECIAL: Finn's infrared goggles are modeled after the ones Timekeeper wears. Easier to carry, whilst retaining their functions.
BACKUP:Black Swallowtail
An immaculate pocket watch. Why does every tick strike a chord of nostalgia and melancholy?
GRADE: ????? BACKUP MELODY: [Unique] SPECIAL: Upon activation of Finn's Swan Song, he becomes the Iron Duke. Permanently.
FACTION:
Gemini Agents
TRIVIA:
He doesn't really talk about himself much. But word on the grapevine is that Finn is the youngest member of one of the more wealthy families in Pax Septimus. His family was often busy with work, and sometimes he was too. But he was always nothing more than a second thought to his parents. The only one of them he usually clung to was his older sister, Lydia Vanhorn. But even then she'd have more important matters to attend to first despite her efforts to be there for him. Sure, such a life could be considered lucky to some, but to him? It felt...unsatisfying. Not to mention frustrating at times. He wanted out of it, away from the shadow his family casts.
So he eventually developed a habit of slipping away unnoticed, going out to wander through the city and do whatever he wanted for a change. Of course Pax being Pax was something Fable always kept in mind, he learned to be careful with wandering off too far, in the off chance he runs into trouble.
The one thing he didn't learn about?
Monsters.
Whether or not it was fate at work or Lady Luck on holiday, Finn had the unfortunate run in with a monster who had the swell idea of chasing him into an abandoned clock shop. If it had the intent to kill him or not, the boy had no plans on finding out. But he was trapped there until it found him or hurried off elsewhere. He couldn't fight. He couldn't run.
Then something caught his eye. A silver sheen near the corner of the store.
The unassuming trinket, an antique pocket watch, turned out to be the grimoire he wields now. But just the one encounter wasn't enough to satiate this newfound curiosity growing within. He had to learn more. About monsters, espers, magi, all of it!
Taking up the alias of the Timekeeper, Finn started out as a normal Freelancer. He never had an interest in joining either GEMINI or The Maverick at first. Asides from him adjusting to being an esper, things were pretty much normal. At least until he crossed paths with a certain white-haired violinist. Being scared off by his now-friend Mary wasn't his finest hour, nor was having to help hold off and defeat the behemoth Crab Rave unprepared, but the news of Betty being kidnapped by a vampire named Justin von Carnage was the final nail in the coffin. His goal was clear enough.
He had to get her back. One way or another.
It was that very sentiment that drove him through hell, trying to catch any and every lead possible to find her, find the bastard that took her, and yet somehow remain one step behind. It was that sentiment that drove him to side with the Maverick to siege against Justin's mansion, face a thralled Betty among other adversaries even if it left him bruised and bloodied, and yet be met with failure again with his targets escaping. One step behind again.
Again and again, he kept failing. Victory in his grasp slipping away each time, and yet he still had the will to keep going. As long as she was alive, he had to keep going, he thought. That very sentiment, that damned sentiment, was what brought upon his unintended status as a local celebrity. Mainly cause people assumed Finn and Betty were a couple. Yes he tried to dismiss those rumors. Yes it didn't work.
Even if he ended up joining GEMINI to get a better leg up in his pursuit, it wasn't until the Holy Diver descended onto Pax Septimus that Justin would finally be vanquished. Finn wouldn't have been able to help in the slightest, much less been the one to deal the final blow. Betty instantly went after him, forcing him to fight her 1-to-1 away from everyone else. Even after having no other option but to untransform, and even after she was no longer being controlled, it seemed nothing was going to stop her from trying to kill Finn in the end.
Something inside the boy broke then, finally crossing his mind that none of it was worth the shit he went through. He finally put an end to their cat and mouse game after gunning and stabbing Betty down. Finn was lucky to have a fellow agent with him to stabilize her.
But not lucky enough to avoid a depraved cultist trying to kill him instead.
It just keeps getting better doesn't it? Dare I mention the demon haunting him?
His stance on Maverick Alternate hasn't changed since joining GEMINI. But he's aware that they're his occupation's enemy, and he won't let them stop him or his allies from getting their job done. Hopefully he won't have to draw their ire too much. Freelancers on the other hand he freely treats as his friends, as someone who used to be one himself.
For some reason, Finn's taken up researching about alternate realities now, even going as far as planning on building a device that can help traverse the multiverse. Of course something like that is nigh-impossible. Right?
Still though, what of his family? Whether they're entrepreneurs to important businesses, or one of the mafia factions that taint the city, they'll have to catch onto his disappearing act at some point.

Finn's rapier. Nothing too noteworthy about it, but it gets work done.

For a bit of good luck, Mary has given Finn their other puppet to help him in combat.

@The World I talked it over with Majoraa. We think tempest is situational enough that you can just have it so that tempest lets you include bend without any additional costs. Alternatively, Majoraa and I noticed you were going for "self-preservation, with a powerful storm of attacks when cornered" and thought we'd suggest something like an ability to briefly become incorporeal or blink a super short distance while casting a melody. But if you like what you've created, you can change the mana cost for tempest and move Gara Gura Marrie into the character tab.
Figured a possible Trump Card, at the very least a window of opportunity to reach a better vantage point could be more interesting for possible strategies in fights.
But hey, if it doesn't tickle your fancy, I ain't gonna push. :P
