Current I am still on RPG, so do feel free to message me. Just don't have the time or energy to actually join any RP's right now. Focusing on a LOT of other projects, including getting into Audio Drama.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, i present: The OOC
@Crimson Flame @Shard @Kenshi @FalloutJack @Skittlez

Here it is, the OOC. There's a Character Sheet skeleton in the first post. If you see a character in the plot summary that you would like to use, feel free to say so and i'll change it to be more in line with what you want to do.

The only other matter of business that immediately springs to mind is, do people want me to set up a Discord server so that we can chat about story idea's and other stuff in real time?

"This time, it'll work" Edition

History

Heroes have always been around in some form or another, it's just that most people didn't realize it. I mean, men like Merlin and Etrigan have existed before history started to be properly documented, but they didn't really start to pop up more frequently until the settling of the New World, when men like Jonah Hex, Zorro and the Lone Ranger began to make names for themselves. They were seen as a novelty, until society developed the means of getting their antics to the public at large. In the 1930's, the first wave of costumed crusaders. Men like Dan Garret "The Blue Beetle" Britt Reid "The Green Hornet" and Namor the Submariner began to don costumes and help those in need in the post-Wall Street Crash society. They captured headlines everywhere, but it wasn't until the beginning of troubles in Europe that people truly saw the need for these super-powered individuals. At this time, a number of the larger named heroes, such as Diana Prince "Wonder Woman" Steve Rogers "Captain America" and Stardust the Super-Wizard got together to come up with a way of coordinating the heroes of the world against the tyranny of the Axis, this group would become known as "The Justice Society" gathering heroes from all over the world.

The Justice Society took part in many decisive battles against the Nazi's, the picture of , but with great good, great evil raises to oppose it. The Red Skull and the forces of HYDRA, along with men like Baron Blitzkreig, Krakko the Samurai-Robot and The White Lions were always there to make sure that the Allies had to fight tooth and nail for every inch of europe that they liberated. Sadly, Captain America was lost in the fighting, but his martyrdom spurred the free world to redouble its efforts.

After the fall of the Nazi's, the next menace that came was draped in Crimson, the world held its breath for 45 years as the east and west starred each other down. but during this time, the Mutants began to make themselves known. Charles Xavier, a young scientist, along with his best friend, Erik Lehnsherr, travelled across the world, gathering Mutants, bringing them to the safety of the "Charles Xavier Institute for Gifted Youngsters" the world also witnessed the rise of S.H.I.E.L.D. A joint taskforce of U.N. countries, designed to safeguard the people from superpowered individuals. It was in the early 90's that the world bore witness to the rise of its greatest hero. The man they simply called "Superman"

S.H.I.E.L.D. was notorious for working in the open and this made a number of people inside of the American government nervous. To this end, they created their own secret taskforce that would only operate in the shadows, this group became known as "CADMUS"

The Gimmick

So, every RP like this has to have a gimmick, it's the rules. What is the gimmick here? Well, every so often, i'm going to start dicking with your story. These will be called "World Event" Where everyone, suddenly, has to deal with the fact that something has gone wrong in the world. Could be an alien invasion, could be WWIII, could be something as simple as The Joker replacing every pillow in your house with a Whoopie-cushion. In any case, when these pop up, i will expect you to deal with them in some way. You don't have to drop everything you are doing, but at least have it play in somehow.

Essentially, i'm giving you guys a big plot of land and saying "Build whatever you want on it. Just bare in mind that i will, every so often, replace all of your cement with custard."

Rules

*You came here expecting to be GM'd by a Madman, but instead your GM is a GOD!!!!* I am the be-all, end-all of arguments here. If i say "Quit that shit" then i expect that shit to be quitted.
*Be Courteous* This is a RP for everyone involved, if i feel that someone is griefing too much, or causing others to not feel comfortable, there will be disciplinery action taken
*18+* Always one that comes up. If you have the feeling that what you are posting isn't for wholesome christian websites like this, then put it in a hider labelled 18+. So, yes, if you want gory slaughter, or hard-core nudity and in-depth descriptions of the horizontal monster-mash, then feel free to, but at least warn us with that hider.
*Posting Expectations* This is going to try to be as laidback as possible, as such, i expect people to make an IC post at least once every 3 weeks, if you let us know over PM or just posting in the OOC, then that should be ok. If you are having trouble coming up with a post, then do feel free to spitball idea's either in the OOC or by PMing me.
*DON'T* If you are thinking about it, then don't.

@FalloutJack In that case, how about your character is sort of the Flashpoint for this timeline. Like, maybe he was the only hero, or the heroes in question were all different, until he fucked up the past and fucked it so hard that suddenly, this is the world that now exists. "Yes, i know what the Justice League is, i understand that part, it makes sense to me... But seriously, what the fuck is an "Avengers?" and why are their faces everywhere?"
@Shard Well, Sandbox, in my experience, really doesn't require everyone to be active at all times, since it's more a case of the players try to tell their own stories within the world, whilst the GM sits there, throwing curve-balls at everyone.

"Say, that's a nice family you've been building development with, would be a shame if one of them was suddenly replaced with a Super Skrull that takes their place >:3"
@FalloutJack Way i see it, in Narrative RP's like this, there are no broken characters, just players playing their character as Broken. Everyone is subject to the Rule of Narrative, where "If Character A needs to defeat Character B in order for the narrative to progress, then Character A will beat Character B regardless of other factors."

@Shard Sounds like Hellboy or Constantine.

@Kenshi@Crimson Flame

So, the big question is what kind of Superhero RP you guys are looking for?

Single Superhero Team? Sandbox Universe?

I was thinking of maybe running something based on Justice League with the worlds heroes all being under a single banner, organized by the worlds greatest Superheroes. Of course, you have the Anti-Heroes that want to do hero work, but refuse to join the League for one reason or another. You can play Canon or Original. However, you will have to deal with the leagues existance one way or another.
@Shard@Kenshi Well, same question as posed to Crimson, what kinda setting you looking for? Marvel, DC, Darkhorse, a little of everything?
Feeling Slightly Better
@Crimson Flame Any specific kind of superhero setting you're looking for? Marvel? DC? Darkhorse? A little of everything?
@Ammokkx Yeah, Yu-Gi-Oh! RP's are great in theory, but in practice, you find a lot of problems, specifically, you have 1 of 2 directions to take Duels in:

1) Make everyone play on the honour system
The problem with that is that you really need to have a pre-determined winner, or the duels just won't end, or someone will power-play to instantly win.

2) Play them out using Dueling Network
Which sounds good in theory, but then you realize that Yu-Gi-Oh! as a game is one of the most horrifically imbalanced mainstream games, meaning that one person in the game is guaranteed to have the most competitive deck (Even if it isn't actually competitive, but it's still the most viable one) meaning that there is no reason they would ever lose. Meaning that, most games force you to either play a competative deck (instead of something you'd ACTUALLY want to play) Or just accept that you will never win a single game throughout the RP.

I've tried to run a couple over the years, but they never work out. The only one i can think of that would work would be something like GX season 3, crossed with Digimon, where player use their creatures to fight each other.
