I am still on RPG, so do feel free to message me. Just don't have the time or energy to actually join any RP's right now. Focusing on a LOT of other projects, including getting into Audio Drama.

@Sadu See, this is why Cinderella World in Birth By Sleep is the best balanced world. We get to see the dark, broody bastard have a character ark where he learns that when you wish upon a star, dreams really do come true. Aqua actually helps in the story by buying time for Cinderella's escape and the character who's whole thing is that he feels small and insignificant in the world actually face a world where he is small and insignificant. It actually plays with characters themes while keeping the original story alive. Each of the characters has a role to play and a lesson to learn, as well as having tangible impact on the original story. It's the benchmark from which all worlds should be based.

The most fun world is probably Toy Story in KHIII, but that's entirely down to gameplay.

That being said, when i was running my D&D game, i introduced a system based on D-Links. Where, essentially, if a player interacted with a character enough, then they formed a Destiny Link with them. This gave them a unique Key-Weapon based on their new friend, with a unique ability. Kinda like the weapon transformations in KHIII.

Examples:
*Darkwing Duck gave a Pistol that also allowed them to Misty Step twice a day with a flashy puff of smoke.
*Elsa gave a Dagger that dealt Cold damage, as well as protected them from the effects of Extreme Hot and Cold Weather while holding it.
*Beshte gave a hammer that doubled their ability to hold their breath and gave them advantage to resist Fear.
*Peter Pan gave them a Dagger that allowed them to cast Disguise Self once a day.

This incentivised the players to actually get involved in the story, rather than just sit back and go with the flow.
@King Kindred That's fair. No offense, but if it means getting tied to a storyline that is one of the leading problems with the franchise, i'd pass on it anyway. I'll try to think of a way to introduce them in a natural way while steering clear of that clusterfuck.
@King Kindred Honestly, that's the kind of convoluted storyline i was hoping to avoid. Primarily because the entire Ansem story, i feel, is one best avoided, because:

1) It's needlessly confusing
2) It was constantly retconned to try and make it make more sense, but only served to make even less sense
3) It's just not that interesting to begin with.

I was probably gonna make Am and Karre Genomes, whereas Am has accepted her role as Angel of Death (Essentially translating from FFIX to this, an Angel of Death is an artificial Nobody that as had a Heart transplanted into it.) Karre is the one raging against Garlands attempts to sacrifice other worlds to save his already dead one. Both of them desperately trying to convince the other to join their side.
@Little Bird I saw that Hoshi was looking for Leon, so i thought it might be fun to introduce a different Leon to her.
@Crimson Flame Play the games for the solid gameplay and fun concepts. Do NOT play the games for the overarching story or execution of their fun concepts. Because they are usually crap. I recommend Just A Pancake's "Kingdom Hearts In A Nutshell for a look into why the games stories are such an incomprehensible mess of "Writing by the seat of your pants" and having to desperately retcon things into working in the story you are trying to tell this very second, only for you to have to retcon those things again later for THAT story you are writing.

This explains perfectly why Xehanort himself is the worst victim of that kind of storytelling
@King Kindred See, the way i did Xehanort was far more coherent and straight forward than the games, primarily because Game Xehanort has Bi-Polar, constantly shifting his plan and going "Ah yes, it was ALWAYS part of my plan that you foil my plan from the previous game!"

There were some other plot points that the party didn't quite gel with, but these are the ones that the party seemed to actually like. Anyone should feel free to use any of them.

Well, a friend of mine ran a few Kingdom Hearts D&D sessions and in it, my character is one of the 101 Dalmatian Street Puppies who found the Mask of Zen-Aku (Power Rangers Wild Force was made under the Disney banner) and is now working for Madam Webb. Who he's working for can be changed, but i really enjoy playing him, because of the split personality. Going from dark and broody Zen-Aku, to literal puppy in a humanoid body who's just really happy to meet people and be their friend.

The other character i have a few idea's for, but i ran another Kingdom Hearts D&D campaign for about 4 years and i had a lot of fun with some recurring characters. Way i handled Star Wars and Marvel stuff was to treat them much like the game treated Final Fantasy characters, where they were always part of specific worlds (The Mandalorian showing up to try and capture Stitch in Lilo & Stitch world, Tony Stark being one of the financiers of the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology, Rocket and Groot being the mercenaries that Queen Grimhilde hires to track down Snow White with SW managing to brainwash Rocket with her magic animal-control singing, etc.) One that i had a lot of fun with was a long running plot of Karre from Star Wars Visions "The Twins" being an ally with Am trying to lure him back into Maleficents service, with him trying to rescue her. I'd kinda love to team these two up.

Also, if you want, i can send you some of the plot points i had for the campaign i ran, people seemed to enjoy the story well enough. Might help give you idea's for ways things can go.
Leon

Launchpad and Leon's journey to Traverse Town was uneventful. As per orders, they weren't allowed to bring any Space Ranger gear with them. Launchpad had his trusty Trident, whereas Leon had... Circumvented those parts of his orders and stocked up from a bevy of custom-built blaster cannons and other weapons. Not technically Space Ranger equipment.

For the last few weeks, the pair had been working inconspicuously. Leon working at a local Blacksmiths, Launchpad working in a Restaurant, cover that had been arranged ahead of time, he didn't think too much on it. As Launchpad got back to their small appartment, he collapsed in his chair. "Jee, stick a weed-wacker in me, i'm bushed." He wiped his brow. Leon looked up at him, he was behind a small workbench, calibrating his Blaster Cannon. "Haven't had to put up with that kind of beratement since Nega-Duck. People are so mean to waiters. This isn't what i ordered! you got it all over my nice shirt! I get soup all over my shirt all the time, it's great" He licked a small tomato soup stain on his shirt. "Mmmm, Gazpacho." He grinned. As he was about to take off his shoes, a beeping suddenly wrang out. Leon immediately vaulted over to a small computer they had. Pressing buttons, he pointed to a gathering of purple blips on it.

"Heartless..." He growled. Launchpad was on his feet in a second, ripping his waiter uniform off and revealing the armour underneath. Leon threw him his Trident and grapped his cannon as the pair ran over to the door. Leon sapped the computer onto his wrist and was about to try and triangulate the position to figure out the best line of attack, when suddenly, the mighty arm of Launchpad coiled around him and with a mighty *SPROING* Launchpad had lived up to his name and rocketted into the air, the trident shining and a magical construct of the Thudnerquack appearing around them. As they reached the height of the jump, Launchpad pointed towards the scene. A girl with a sword of some kind pointing at a horde of Heartless. Not hesitating for a second, Launchpad aimed himself directly at a clump of 3 Heartless, falling from the heavens like a bolt of lightning, sending the 3 flying. One splattering into a wall, the heart slowly floating up, the second one simply vaporized as the Thunderquack exploded and the last one seemingly having survived the blast miraculously unharmed, it looked around, then wiped its brow in relief, before it realized that Leon had jumped clear just before impact, the diminuitive creature with his enormous laser cannon taking aim and blasting the survivor to oblivion, the force of the shot slowing his descent.

"Have no fear, little girl, for I am the Terror that Flaps in the Night!!!" Launchpad began, he so rarely got to pretend to be Darkwing anymore, it was nice to get back into the swing of things. £I am the..." He pondered for a second, a Heartless jumping at im to attack him, but he put the hand holding the trident to his bill at the perfect time to accidentally skewer the creature, who writhed for a second, before disappearing. "I am the... Turnip... that... No that's no good..." He thought for another second, Leon blasting a 5th one that tried to attack him from behind. "Wait, i got it!" He snapped his fingers, meanwhile, Leon took notice of what the girl was holding. "I am-"

"A KEYBLADE!!!" He yelled in an uncharacteristic burst of emotion.

"No that's not it Leon, you made me lose my train of thought." He groaned. Leon looked at him, seriously doubting he had so much as a Handcar of thought, let alone a whole train.

"No, she's got a Keyblade!" Leon yelled.

"She has a-" Launchpads eyes practically blew out of his sockets at the realization of this. "A KEYBLADE!!!!" He ran over to her Don't worry, Keybarer, we've got this!" He yelled confidently. As he let out the cheer, Hoshi would feel a surge of strength through her body. The big dumb one seeming to buff her using unknown magics. Leon ran to her side. "I'm Launchpad, this is Leon. We're here for..." He had to stop and think again.

"We kill these things." Leon grunted, before blasting another one, it sailing gayly through the air, before landing in a heap, it was about to shake itself off, before noticing that its heart was ascending to the sky, it waved goodbye before melting away.
