There's definitely things to do instead of crying or feeling victimized. You could calmly digest the nice advices people gave you 14 hours ago, for example.

The best pizza there is, fight me. Got nothing to do with pens though, so I wonder what that one Japanese guy was all about...

Now on to actual info:

Aboard the Riverboat

Lorentine Queen, Top Deck | Nighttime
Interactions with: Leon@Jumbus Dory@jasbraq Carmillia@Animus Zarra@BreathOfTheWoof Manfred@Force and Fury

Arriving on the riverboat with her team, Eun-Ji immediately shifted her mind fully into focusing on the task at hand... Which, alas, was deliberately left rather open-ended by Hugo in terms of what they really were supposed to achieve. Personally, she was used to and thus preferred having very clear objectives. Then she would only need to put her entire body, mind, and soul to the order of her superior. Alas, that was not the case with this mission given to her and her team by the Paradigm. Regardless, she quickly got into surveying the surrounding area, something that was made easy by the fact that Hugo had portalled the group onto the Top Deck which provided a good vantage point for observation. She noticed the rabble-rouser down on the front of the Main Deck, provoking a crowd. Then these must be the potential rioters... And that man, an agent of the Traveler.

That was one of the thing mentioned to be their mission, the riot. As for the other one...

“Well, you heard them down there.” Leon spoke up, facing Eun-Ji and the rest of the team. “They have plenty more rioters on the shoreline. Someone should go and get the captain to stop the ship.” The performer stated as he moved to leave. “As for me, I plan to help defend the lyre. Come with me, if you like. But I need to actually find it first.”

That was the other objective. In any case, she would rather not take on the task of convincing the captain to stop the ship; she was far from the best choice when it came to persuasion after all. Protecting the lyre, which very likely involved fighting and might even involve a chance to use her expertise with stealth and combat, however... "Then I shall come with you to make sure the lyre will not be stolen, Leon." She turned around, addressing Zarra, Carmillia, Dory, and Manfred. "If I may suggest... It might be prudent then for one of you to be the one persuading the captain to stop the ship. And then the rest can deal with the potential riot. Regardless, I believe we shall all need to make haste. That crowd looks like it is just about ready to turn violent, and we don't know if the lyre is even still safe. I wish you all good luck."

Finishing her words with a polite nod to the four, she then turned around to follow Leon, hastening her pace until she walked beside him. While keeping her gaze casually around to observe her surrounding as she walked, she spoke up. "Among the information provided by the Paradigm to us, it was stated that there is only a single cargo hold in this ship, right within the hull... I believe checking the cargo hold might presently be our best option, Leon."

Critical Diplomatic Failure

Dragonspine Mountains | Evening

"..... Once more, I will have to agree with Ms. Catherine." Anki said, also in Common. "I just told you that I am under the impression that this Almira is lying to us about herself, Srikandi. And even if she isn't, she's definitely not being forthcoming. Furthermore, it indeed seems like she is not seeing us as her equals, what's with one-sidedly deciding to take the dragon's remains for themselves despite us being the one that killed it, while on the other hand refusing to grant Ms. Catherine's request in return. So either lying or concealing information, and on top of that behaving like swindlers. No, I will not be able to trust them, not in good faith. Besides, it had become evident that they do not really trust us either. Thus, I unfortunately cannot share your belief that there is no potential for betrayal, Srikandi. On the other hand, I believe there are plenty. We are walking to the unknown with a group of unknowns whom intention is also unknown, after all." Her expression as she talked remained neutral, as if she was simply stating the facts.

"Thus, I am against going with this vehicle of theirs. And I strongly advise against doing so for the rest of you as well." Concluding her words, she proceeded to look at her companions, as if awaiting for their opinions on the matter. As for herself, she had made her reluctance to trust or deal with the strangers very clear. As curious as she was about them, she was not keen on going along with whatever they said.

Btw, Did the Opera House Survived?

Sydney Harbor | Daytime
@Izurich@PKMNB0Y

"Dear me, this is really different from what I remembered. Then again, last time I visited Sydney, there wasn't any monster trying to kill people or trying to infect them by getting into their mouth, fufu." Teodora was high up in the air, looking around the tremendously vast area that had became the mission location for her, Elise, and Pyra. Looking at it from where she were, it really put into perspective just how the Warped invasion had changed the world as a whole. This doesn't even feel like the Sydney Harbor... She thought in her mind, noticing the barricades and the lack of boats out in the open ocean. Of course, it made sense that the waters were abandoned, considering a supposedly massive leviathan was lurking out there ready to attack and destroy any seafaring vessel foolish enough to roam into its hunting zone. I wonder how this one is going to look like. A kraken? Moby Dick? The traditional hungry gigantic shark? Fufu~

"Conducting a scan on the perimeter now, over."

The voice over the communication channel got Teodora out of her musing. "Understood, Infernus. In fact, on that note... Supplice, moving in to survey the area as well." She took a deep breath in and out before turning her gaze toward the horizon far away beyond the ocean seemingly stretching into infinity in front of her. Then, she smiled confidently. Alright then! Time to find and fish out this monster of the deep! And with that the jet engines of Supplice's wings charged up, propelling her onward a moment later, leaving behind contrails to mark her path through the sky.

Teodora adjusted her altitude and speed. Moving at a comfortably slow cruising speed of 50km/h about 50 meters off the surface of the water, she kept her eyes open, focusing on finding any trace of the sea monster hiding under the blue waters.

Sandra Morrison had chosen the three flight-capable Chi-Mechframes that were also capable of long-range assaults for the mission, even if Infernus might not be as effective as usual due to the nature of the target. Regardless, now it was up to Teodora, Elise, and Pyra to prove whether Sandra had chosen the members for the mission correctly. And Teodora, of course, was fully eager to prove that they will indeed be able to nail the target and complete the mission just like they did with the last one. Then we'll all come back as heroes again! Fufu, I can't wait to finish this and enjoy some post-mission treats~

Shared Warmth

Cerise wrapped one of her arms around Akaia as she let the Sidhe rest on the bench. She kept quiet while keeping watch of the area, intending to let her best friend get some much needed nap. She watched as Dallas walked away, apparently needing a bathroom break. The place was rather peaceful, everything considered, with seemingly nobody else aside from the members of the Commune around. Briefly, her mind wandered back to the happening earlier during the mission when she found the vestige that was without a doubt hers. That means I dispersed around there once... I wonder what happened. Of course, she had no memory of it. It remained impossible for her to remember anything from before she became a Revenant; and also some things after she became one.

And that's exactly how she wanted it to be. There can't possibly be any good that can come from remembering things that elicited such intense pain within her heart even when she couldn't clearly recall them. I'm just glad Lys decided to leave it be...

Her self-ruminations were then ended when she felt a gentle pinch on her arm, followed by the voice of the Sidhe she held dearest in her heart. "How are you?" She turned her gaze, looking at Akaia with a warm smile on her face. "You did not get hurt. Today?" She shook her head in response. "Not at all. I'm quite fortunate today. I have everyone to thanks for that, of course." Then she turned her gaze to look at Licorice as the bird stood in front of her and Akaia. She gave Licorice a soft pat on the head as she continued to speak again. "I'm sorry that I wasn't there, Kaia." Her expression turned to that of guilt; once more blaming herself for being unable to prevent a comrade's injury. And not just any comrade but her best friend, at that. "I'm... Just glad that you're here with me now. If you had..." She stopped, and then shook her head, and a small but warm smile returned to her face. "No, never mind. I'm so glad you're alright, Kaia."

Cerise then wrapped her other arm around Akaia too, hugging the Sidhe, feeling her warmth just as Akaia felt her own. She stayed that way for a few seconds, and then with one more warm smile and a small giggle, turned and signaled to Poppy that she and Akaia were ready to go at anytime. Both of them, and everyone in the Commune for that matter, definitely needed the rest back within the safety of their home.

Mission Briefing

Hugo's Study | Daytime

She remembered the days back then when she could deal with surprises and even mostly enjoyed them. But then those were mundane things; surprise birthday party, surprise gifts, surprising reunion with a longtime friend... Ever since she became a Lotus Sentry however, surprises had only ever meant trouble. A surprised clandestine agent generally quickly became a dead clandestine agent and while she had no qualms about being killed in the line of duty, she would rather not die if she can help it, especially not due to some nasty magical surprise. And this was exactly that type of surprise, yet again. Again and again, magic on a level far beyond what she could possibly muster herself kept on happening, all despite the fact that she had only been in Ersand'Enise for a relatively short time.

She repressed a sigh, keeping it all internally within her mind while her face showed an expression as neutral as always. She was already ensnared in it, and it didn't seem like Manfred or the others that she knew revealed any intent to leave, so she might as well stay and see where this less than welcome surprise will lead her.

Still, she was very uneasy and more than just a bit intimidated. In fact, it went beyond that. Due to her training and experiences in the Lotus Sentry, Eun-Ji had barely ever felt fear nor ever felt intimidated, not even when facing a vastly superior foe under disadvantageous condition like what happened the night before with the masked Magusjaeger. As far as she can recall, only three individuals incited an immediate feeling of dread into her mind just with their presence alone: The Cruel, His Majesty of Tan Keoul, Cheol Sang-nam. Avrael, the Shadow-Killing Phantom, Volto Bianco of the Dieci Volti Nascosti. And lastly the Lightning Falcon, leader of the Lotus Sentry, Commander Han Yeong-Gi.

Hugo Hunghorasz, then, had easily became the fourth. And it was not because of his legendary reputation or his rumored god-like powers as the greatest mage who ever lived. More than that, it was because something about him felt very wrong. She didn't know exactly why, but being this close to the Paradigm made Eun-Ji felt very uneasy. Pretty much by instinct, she had moved herself behind Manfred so that she were hidden from Hugo's direct line of sight. She paid little attention to Leon's comment about dressing state and to Zarra's incorporeality show. Nor did she paid any heed to Carmillia and Dorothea's interaction. Instead, she focused her mind and sight to the papers filled with the details of the mission, both as preparations for the mission itself and to push her unease and worry away from her mind.
Seung Eun-Ji | Leon Solaire

A Friendly Duel in the Park

A park in Ersand'Enise, near the Castle dorm | Sometime before the gathering with Hugo Hunghorasz

It had been days since Leon had been sent out to learn fire magic. Mastery of light meant he didn’t have to learn it from scratch. Instead, it was a matter of using the same techniques while emitting a different form of energy. But there was a crucial thing, Leon needed to learn about fire magic.

Control.

One can cast light magic all they want without refrain, it won’t harm those around them and it won’t scorch the Earth. Leon became accustomed to this, letting his magic flow to his every whim with no restraint. But fire meant recklessness could claim lives and he wouldn’t allow himself to do that.

Leon came up with a simple test. He would spar against another student in a specific location. In the middle of a park, full grass and sparse trees surround the area. With non-stop sun for a few days so all of it was dry. Should flames catch onto them, it is unlikely he would be able to put them out. But if he couldn’t use fire without setting the grass alight, he didn’t want to use it at all.

The only thing left to do was wait for a contestant. The sun shone high in the sky and he meditated below the incandescent light. Every breath he took felt like it stoked embers in his core. He felt dangerous like he was using the sun’s power for a grim purpose he wanted nothing to do with. Something in his mind wanted him to fail here so he could put this phase behind him. But he knew he had to become something stronger.

Eun-Ji had seen the note that Leon had left on the board of the Castle that day while she was out taking a break from her own studies in her room. It piqued her interest; not because she was specifically interested in sparring herself but because she wanted to see the other students sparring. Thus she went to the location described on the note, expecting to find Leon and another student already mid spar… Only to find that Leon was alone, waiting for a potential sparring partner.

And he was, once more, shirtless. Just like when he and his group were coming over to Zeno Zemana’s house back on the second day. At first, Eun-Ji wondered if he just preferred not to wear a shirt unless he must; but then she followed it up by thinking that it’s not all that weird for a male to be shirtless while exercising or sparring. Regardless, she ended up watching him a while longer, wondering if another student would come.

Nobody else came even after the wait. She started to think that maybe nobody at all would come, and it made her feel like perhaps she should just volunteer herself then. After all, she knew Leon and it would be a lie to say that she didn’t have some curiosities about him after the thing with the rose that he gave to her on that first day. Thus, she approached him quietly, and when she was sufficiently close she spoke to him. ”Excuse me, Mr. Solaire… I saw your note on the board of the Castle…”

With a final exhale Leon opened his eyes to see who greeted him. He was pleasantly surprised by who it was, it gave the smile he was going to give off an air of sincerity. "Ah, yes, the note. I am glad actually, I’m all out of flowers.” He joked while hopping to his feet with a laugh. Patting off his pants he continued. "Are you wanting to spar off against me? Because I am quite hesitant to harm someone of beauty."

Leon stretched out prepping for a fight as if he hadn’t said the previous sentence. With every strain, faint embers trailed off his body. "If I can ask, please don’t warn me about your techniques. Take every advantage you can… Oh, but I would like to know your name if you don’t mind.” Leon was so caught up in it all, he almost forgot to ask the girl for her name.

”Yes… Thank you again for the violet rose you gave me before.” She bowed politely at him, before continuing to introduce herself. ”My name is Seung Eun-Ji, of Tan Keoul. It is an honour to meet you again, Mr. Solaire.” She paused, looking at Leon with a completely neutral expression, in reality wondering how much of her own combat capability should be told to Leon despite his request to not be warned about it. After a brief moment, she nodded to herself and spoke up once more.

”Please do not be worried about harming me, Mr. Solaire. I am… Not unfamiliar with the intricacies of combat.” She said so humbly, stating it as a matter of fact. ”How would you like to do this, Mr. Solaire? What do you have in mind for this sparring session?”

"The rose was the least I could do. Please, call me Leon. You don’t need to be so formal.” Leon took a bow in return, this lacked the politeness and subtlety of his company. ”I intend to use fire during the sparring session. Even if you say I shouldn’t be worried, fire is a dangerous and destructive thing. If you think you could be hurt, please leave now. I won’t judge you for it.” A serious streak crosses his face as he prepares for a fight. From the eye of Eun-Ji, this would pretty clearly be someone imitating an experienced fighter as opposed to the real thing.

”Very well… Leon.” She said while still giving him a polite and respectful nod. ”I understand. Indeed, it is a dangerous thing to manipulate fire. Harm is definitely a possibility… However.” She moved to shift her own stance into the neutral stance of the Seun-chi-go martial art style. Despite knowing that Leon’s own preparation seemed to be an imitation rather than the real deal, she intended not to disrespect him by holding back too much. ”I am also not unfamiliar with fire and flames. Please, if you are ready… Shall we begin?”

Despite her words, she didn’t seem to do anything else aside from getting into a combat stance, not performing any drawing or other feats of magic. She intended to give the opportunity of the first move to Leon.

Leon’s eyes narrowed a bit. He was suspicious of this girl. She was familiar with combat and flames alike, just what had she been through? Surely it could not be normal, not as though he would have a solid reference. Tan Keoul is a place he had only seen in passing, but normal kids can’t be accustomed to things like that.

But that was all a matter for another time. Eun-Ji stood waiting for him to act. This was a test of his own abilities first off, so it was up to him to initiate. Reaching into his back pocket, he pulled out a single marble. "Well, don’t mind if I do.” Suddenly, almost by reflex his showman persona returned as he initiated the attack. He tossed the marble high into the air as his left foot double-tapped the ground. A gust of wind took beneath him, quickly gliding in a twirl toward Eun-Ji.

Eun-Ji focused entirely on Leon and his actions. The marble tossed into the air, the left foot tapping the ground twice. She kept watch of it all while also keeping in her mind that they might be nothing more than empty gestures, reacting with tempered reflex as Leon started moving quickly towards her. She drew from the ambient heat and the noises of grasses being caressed by the wind; just a little bit was needed for her opening move. As Leon got within 2 meters of her, she moved backwards matching the speed of Leon’s approach in a way only a Skyborn like herself could, as if hovering on the ground, all the while conjuring and flicking a small lick of intense fire at him; the Wyvern’s Breath spell at the lowest tier. A move that should be fitting for the purpose of the spar.

Leon ducked immediately. This had two effects. The flame coming toward him would fly over his head and the marble behind him could detonate at full effect. The marble burst out into blinding multicoloured light. Seeing an opportunity, he swung his leg across the ground in a kicking motion as the fire was expelled from his feet in a sweeping motion.

Light. It was a clever trick by Leon, trying to blind an opponent using a light that burst behind himself. Eun-Ji recalled her mistake with the Light of Ahn-Shune she used against the Masked Soldier the night before, and coupled with her mind never forgetting about the marble, was able to react quickly to it. She drew from the light itself, protecting her eyes from the blinding effect while at the same time earning her some energies to use. She floated up to the air seamlessly to avoid the sweeping fire from Leon’s feet and then took to performing a more serious offence than before, swiftly taking a dagger from the fold of her dress, flipping it around and imbuing it with just a bit of kinetic energy to accelerate it, and then throwing it. The kinetically imbued dagger flew at high speed, the blunt side of the handle aimed at Leon’s stomach.

Leon was already too absorbed in his next move to consider the attack Eun-Ji just threw out. With a deep inhale, he was about to continue the assault as the dagger connected with his stomach. The blow took the wind out of him, but that was very bad timing for both parties involved. The heat rose up in his lungs and with a lack of control, the fire began erupting out of Leon’s mouth. In a panic, he threw his back to the ground letting the flame discharge into the air. He hoped Eun-Ji was alright but he wouldn’t have been able to tell.

Eun-Ji had expected Leon to be able to evade the attack, and thus the discharge of flame was unexpected. Fortunately, being a Skyborn that is also a Kineticist worked to her advantage. She quickly changed direction midair, dashing horizontally back down to the ground at an angle that allowed her to evade the flame, accelerating herself with a little bit of Kinetic energy to make doubtlessly sure that the flame did not even graze her. Landing solidly in a kneeling posture, she calmly straightened herself to a standing position as she called out to Leon, a bit of worry creeping into her voice. ”Are you quite alright, Mr. So-.. Leon?”

Leon lay on the ground, looking up to the sky, letting the relief wash over him that she replied. With a couple of blinks and a now unfiery exhale he tilted his head over to see that she wasn’t even touched by the flame. He let out a laugh of relief, even if the grass he lay on was mildly scorched. "I’m quite alright.” Leon tilted his head back to see the sky. "Quite alright indeed.” A bit of a pause went by as Leon pondered his future with fire. Sure the nature of it was dangerous, destruction is inevitable. But people aren’t helpless like motionless plants.

Leon sat up and looked toward his sparring partner. "So… lunch?”

Eun-Ji was in turn also relieved that she hadn’t overdone it and that Leon was in fact quite alright. She walked closer to Leon as he sat up, offering him her right hand to help him stand back up. ”Ah… Yes. If we are done with our sparring, I suppose we are just in time for lunch. It would be an honor to accompany-” She paused as she realized she was defaulting back to her overly formal speech. ”I mean to say… Yes. Lunch. If we are done.”

Leon found this girl quite confusing, she switched between an extremely formal dialect to some attempts at laidback speech. Combined with a strange affinity to combat, he had some theories about what type of place she came from. But none of those theories sounded very nice so he was just going to ignore them. "Excellent!” Leon said with a smile and a clap of his hands. Taking to his feet again, he continued. "It's a date.”

... A date? The word made Eun-Ji wonder if the meaning of a date was different here than it was back in Tan Keoul. Regardless, she was herself too polite to ask about it further, nor was she sure whether it actually mattered much or not. Thus, she simply nodded. ”Very well… Let us be off, then?”

Leon blinked a bit, he wasn’t expecting such a straightforward reply. "Ah…, yes, let's be off.”

And thus on that note, the two left the park to get their lunch together, in what might or might not actually be a date.
Yep, as I stated before, I'm definitely putting my interest in :p
CERISE | AKAIA

@Exit

The Ruined City | Evening

A weary Akaia stuck to the heels of Cerise as both girls left the store. By now the sun was sunk behind distant mountain ranges and the horizon was ablaze in color. Brilliant red and orange hues danced at the edges of a night sky that was spreading far above them and with its arrival, the last light of the day died out. The circles around Akaia's eyes were almost impossible to see now but the brighter spark in Cerise's was as impossible to miss now as it ever was.

Walking along with Akaia, Cerise noticed the exhaustion in her best friend’s every movements. It was the main reason why she had decided to accompany her outside instead of staying inside with Lysandra and Erik. She gently held Akaia’s left arm with her right hand to support her, and was ready to offer more. “Want to rest a bit, ‘Kaia? Should we sit somewhere? You can lay your head on my lap if you want to take a little nap. I can keep watch all the same, hehe. Oh, right, before that…” She waved and called out to the other members of the Commune that were outside the store. “Hey everyone! We found a pretty good place to scavenge for stuff! Go ahead and check it out if you want, Lys and Erik are inside!” She pointed at the entrance of the store behind her and Akaia.

As Cerise addressed the rest of the commune, Akaia moved a little closer to her and leaned her head on her shoulder. A yawn escaped her lips. Cerise turned to face her again, nodded with an affectionate smile on her face, and then started leading Akaia to a nearby miraculously-in-decent-condition bench so she'll be able to rest more comfortably.

Victorious Retreat

Ruined City | Late Afternoon

Cerise kept on shooting at the Tsar Bomba as her comrades retreated away from the massive creature. Even as the gigantic grime struggled to reform, the booming sound of Lariat's shots remained echoing through the air. After the first few hasty shots, Cerise shifted her aim to specifically target the likely weak points of the Tsar bomba, namely the eyes and mouth, and it had worked wonders. Six..... Five..... Four..... Still, Cerise knew she cannot kept her attack going for much longer. Only four bullets remained until she ran out of ammunition. But then again, the objective was not to try to bring down the Tsar Bomba, but merely to stop it to allow everyone to get to safety. And that objective, it seemed, was looking right on track to be successfully fulfilled.

Cerise took a deep breath in and out, and one more bullet flew out of Lariat's muzzle, landing cleanly and piercing one of the creature's eyes just as it almost finished to reform it. This earned her a pained bellow from the gigantic creature as it nonetheless continued attempting to reform. It also gave her the time to shift her focus to check if her comrades had managed to sufficiently retreat, and upon doing so Cerise realized that such was indeed the case. The fighting retreat had, in effect, been a success. She relaxed at once, letting a big breath out. Thank goodness...

She stopped firing after that, there was no more need for it after all, and further attacks might end up attracting the Tsar Bomba's attention again. She retreated from the tower, quickly heading down by a combination of climbing and using her blood powers to teleport around. Soon enough, she rendezvoused with the others back on the ground, greeting them all with a big relieved smile. Whether or not the other team had found the mistle was not something she currently cared much about. It was secondary next to the safety of her comrades.

All's Well That Ends Well?

Teodora watched on, head tilted slightly to the left and still ready to call a medic, as Pyra seemed to have calmed down and the anger had drained out of her. The Japanese-Turned-Greek returned to watching the projections of her holo-glasses, murmuring. "I... just don't like loud noises..." Teodora quickly replied. "Loud noises?" She blinked a few times, still not entirely getting what Pyra was talking about, what's with her focus being on whether or not Pyra needed immediate medical assistant. A few more seconds passed before something finally clicked in Teodora's head. "Oh." She lightly bumped her right fist down on the palm of her left hand, looking upward as if at an imaginary floating light bulb. "Oh my, I see. Ahahahaha. Well~"

Teodora then lightly tapped the top of her head with her right fist, tongue sticking out slightly and winking one eye. Her cheeks turned bright red as she now fully realized that, no, Pyra didn't need medical attention at all. She was instead surprised because of Teodora's loud squealing. "Tehe. Soooowwy, really. Hehe... Oh my, this wasn't even the first time this kind of thing happened~" She giggled lightly before continuing. "I swear, I didn't do it to surprise you on purpose or anything. It's kind of a reflex reaction for me! Like, I'm a rather loud and excitable person by nature, fufu. It was sooo extreme that even my Echidna infection was kind of caused by that, you know!" Indeed, just a few seconds had passed and she had quickly started speaking excitedly again with her voice slowly rising in volume. She quickly caught herself though, putting both palms to cover her own mouth.

"Whoops. Ehm, hehe. Anyways, yes, I'm so sorry for squealing like that so near to you, dear Pyra. I know that it can be quite annoying for some people... I'll try not to do that around you, promise!" She gave a thumbs up at Pyra, smiling widely. Then, her eyes flicked toward her trio of parfaits again. Unable to resist the sweets, she promptly returned to eating them. This time trying, with mixed success, to not be too noisy while doing so.
