Yugioh: The King's Shadow

Serena looked around then pulled yami into an alleyway and behind a shed. Then she slipped off her jacket and started unbuttoning her shirt. “Don’t freak out…I can’t show you his with this on…” she pulled her shirt away and turned to show her back. The scar was there. “Dad told me it must be a birth mark…it’s been there my whole life…is this that wound?”

Tristen smiled and said “Yugi will be alright. He just can’t keep using that new skill of his all the time…”

Adam nodded and said “the heart of the king and Serena kept hearing the soul…what if…it’s not just because he wants them gone…what if he needs Yami and Serena?”

Serena listened to him but stopped dead when he talked about the slash. She stared at him and said “on my back? All the way across? From my left shoulder to my right side of my waste?”

Tristen nodded and said “that would be very helpful…” Odion nodded and said “agreed. I believe with some tips from young Yugi you could handle anything thrown at you”

Set bowed his head and said “my apologies. I hadn’t heard your name yet from my scouts…so that means there’s something here he needs that’s more pressing then just a portal…” Adam was deep in thought and said “the heart and soul…wait what did the guy say to you Seto?”

Serena smiled and took his arm, looking around as they walked. Then she said “so what did Bane show you?”

Odion looked at more of the cards and asked “any field type cards?”

Set asked “what are you seeing blessed?”

Serena looked at him and said “we can stay out for a little bit longer…then you can fill me in”

Odion nodded as Tristen looked the monsters over. “Okay, now let’s find what trap and magic cards are good for a quick action or get away if need be”

Adam looked over the map when they were done and said “well…there a pattern…I’m just not seeing what it means yet…” Set looked over the map as well, glancing at Seto to see if he would see it.

Bane sighed and said “we can speak of this later…the ride is almost over…enjoy your date” he vanished and Serena looked around and said “what the heck just happened?”

Tristen said “we should find the monsters that she can summon at reflex if a shadow duel starts out of no where. And best ones for whatever can be thrown at us” odion nodded and looked over the cards. “I see many good choices, just need to figure the limits and strengths of the cards”

Adam brought it back and laid it out, using cups to hold the corners. “Okay…let’s mark the old locations…see if there’s a pattern”

Serena sat up and said “I’m okay…” she looked at Bane and her eyes widen. “Wait…Ive seen you before…this form…” The God of Shadows nodded and said “indeed…it was when I was with your mother. When she came to get guidance on how to raise a child of the gods…”

Tristen sat down and said “I’ve heard you guys talk about it so much over the years hard not to pick up on things…I’m thinking yugi wanted to see her deck to see what monsters work best in a shadow duel”

Adam chuckled and got up “give me a sec. The lay lines aren’t a magic only thing. It’s more like the national energy of the planet. I think I have one here some where…”

Serena blinked and said “I didn’t…see anything…” then a sound came from across from them. A clearing of a throat. “Serena was hosting the memory so she won’t know what we saw…” Bane sat across from them, in the human from Yami saw.

Odion nodded softly then Tristen came in. “Yugi and Yami are magic effect style. Triggering magic and trap cards. And ritual cards as well. I don’t think we have seen enough of Serena’s deck to figure out her style but it’s kinda like Yamis”

Set said “that’s not as hard if you look for the magic lay lines and the shadow realms weak points…they can be mapped out”

Serena stirred and opened her eyes and said softly “my prince…what happened…” she held her head and looked up at him.

Odion nodded and said “I think I understand. So what about Yugi deck? And Yamis and Ms Serena’s”

Set shook his head and said “they are made to bring souls to him. He can use the power of souls to break the seal”

Bane nodded and said “very well, we can keep going later on…” he snapped his fingers and they were in the Ferris wheel again, Serena against his shoulder her eyes closed.

Odion nodded and said “I’m not familiar with this style. Are you master Marik? Joey?”

Set nodded and said “what must happen is the gate sealed for good all the way. His prison now is partly opened. But if the gate is opened all the way…the world is doomed”

The scene ended and Bane said “now we get to the good part of Zhara dealing with Apep…more attacks and such…do you wish to keep going?” He looked at Yami.

Odion looked over and asked “so do you use them in all your strategies?”

Set said as he sat in a chair by him “he has the help of a few but not powerful ones. It’s the human factor is giving him more power. Most of my siblings are staying out of it”
