The first thing people notice about Millie Jean is her skittish behavior; she’s well ready to bolt at a moment’s notice and it is very apparent to others. It’s almost like she views everyone as a predator to her prey. Added to this, Millie Jean is awkward and often can’t explain to others why her need to flee is in place. She has a hard time connecting to other people without appearing as if she is uncomfortable in her own body, which she is. Her insecurity has led her to be quite shy at first, fearing others’ judgement and avoiding conversation unless a close friend is with her.
When you get past her awkward nature, Millie Jean is rather sarcastic and almost biting in her observations. Because she views everyone as a potential metaphorical hunter, Millie Jean tends to be rather cynical about others’ intentions for her. She is quick to devalue life, setting her expectations low to avoid disappointment. Beneath her cynical demeanor, Millie Jean is actually a daydreamer; she is stuck in the clouds to avoid reality. Even more so, Millie Jean is a hopeless romantic who just wants to be swept off her feet and have someone who loves her since she can’t love herself.

Millie Jean is always dreaming, so she has many of them. As a hopeless romantic, Millie Jean dreams of a whirlwind romance that will sweep her off her feet. As a cynic, she dreams of a better world in which she isn’t cynical or shy in. When it comes to career choices, Millie Jean wishes to make money off of her poetry or become a lepidopterist.
Millie Jean is scared of everything. Animals scare her until she gets used to them, people scare her until she realizes they are friendlies, and she fears the dark. The only normal fear that she doesn’t have is a fear of heights. In general, Millie Jean is just a fearful human being. When it comes to abstract fears, Millie Jean fears rejection. She feels as if everyone is judging her and she is scared that others’ won’t accept her, especially since not a lot of people have the palate for her personality.
Millie Jean’s father was an immigrant from the Ukraine and her mother a Dixie Belle with big dreams of becoming a singer. Her father died before she got to know him, not that it matters now, and Millie Jean grew up without really knowing her Ukrainian roots. When she was twelve, her paternal uncle came to live with them to help with financial needs and she was reintroduced into Ukrainian culture. Soon, her mother and uncle entered a relationship, in which Millie Jean greatly disapproved of. While she appreciated her uncle’s willingness to teach her about her own culture, she wasn’t blind to the fact that he was a bit of an asshole.
When Millie Jean was fifteen, her and her mother took a vacation to Los Angeles to look at apartments, hoping they could find something relatively cheap and her mother could pursue a career in singing. When they came back to Texas, they were welcomed with an empty house and an even emptier bank account. Her uncle had ran off with their money after he lost all of his gambling. Broke and heartbroken, Millie Jean and her mother soon went into debt. When it came time to pay off the loan shark, the two still didn’t have enough money.
It was Millie Jean who found it and Millie Jean who suggested it. She was desperate enough for money that she willingly signed up to become a test subject, begging her mom to let her do this. Her mother staunchly refused at first, but when the loan shark threatened violence, she caved. Millie Jean officially joined 𝙿𝚛𝚘𝚓𝚎𝚌𝚝 𝚄𝚗𝚝𝚊𝚖𝚎𝚍.
Savannah is an incredibly cautious person, almost always on guard when roaming the hallways of San Agustin Academy. She keeps her head on a swivel at all times to make sure no one is able to get the jump on her. It's rendered her almost paranoid that someone is going to attack her when she least suspects it, so she is unwilling to calm her nerves for even a second. She always makes sure there are at least two exits to every room she is in, and that she knows where they are at all times. She wasn't thrilled to be sent to a boarding school in New Mexico, but at least there is a track behind the school and the food caters to her dietary needs, so it's not terrible.
Possibly because of her overt attention to her surroundings, Savannah has an almost serene grace to how she moves through the academy. She makes it look so effortless, as if her movements were meant to show off as opposed to protect her back. It's garnered some unwanted attention, but she's willing to put up with it if it means that they are fawning in admiration and not out of some misguided feelings of anger or lust. She also has managed to retain a sense of style that is uniquely her own despite the situation. She had a reserve of money that allowed her to buy outfits that allowed her attempt to blend in to her surroundings, yet her beauty and her body gives her away almost instantly. She can't help it. Her legs have always been immaculate. They are her moneymakers.
But Savannah isn't just about some great legs and a tight butt. She's got a big sexy brain on her shoulders as well. Her attention to detail has allowed her to amass some very impressive grades. Not top of the class, but she's going to have no problems getting into the university of her choice. It's also why despite her paranoia, she usually doesn't panic in situations she's uncomfortable in. Usually. She can quickly formulate plan to ensure the best outcome for her. A lot of times it involves running. Hey, you stick to your strengths.
Habits/Quirks/Fun Facts
✸ Chews a lot of gum. It's frowned upon at the academy, but what are they gonna do? Ban gum? What is this, Singapore? ✸ Is a vegetarian. Savannah came to that decision recently, confident she could get her protein from other sources. She isn't sure what specifically inspired that life change though. Just the thought of eating a meat burger makes her nauseous. ✸ She hates her hair color. Savannah doesn't know what she was thinking when she went pink on blond over her natural brown hair. She totally stands out. It's a huge target. ✸ When she's really nervous, Savannah will rub behind her ears, as if subconsciously trying to hear better. ✸ Despite her issues with her hair, Savannah detests hats of any kind. If someone tries to put one on her, she will violently shake it off. ✸ She is very claustrophobic. Once, Savannah had the door close behind her when she was getting something out of the office in the gym and she got so spooked she tried to bust the door down with her shoulder to escape. Turned out it wasn't locked.
Dreams
Although she has been told she has the grace and the legs to be a successful model following graduation, Savannah has no desire to put herself in the spotlight like that for the whole world to see. Someone could easily take her out. She saw Zoolander... she thinks... What? It's a classic! Anyway, she's hoping to get an athletics scholarship since the only time she enjoys being out with people watching is when she is running her events. Qualifying for the Olympics would be a pipe dream... or nightmare. The eyes of the world upon her... Either way, Savannah wants to get through school, maybe settle down and start a family somewhere while she settles into a nice work-from-home job or something like that.

Fears
Savannah has lots of fears. Fear of enclosed spaces. Fear of loud noises. Fear of never being able to see her own demise coming. However, her biggest fear is that she will be lose her ability to roam free as she wishes, that she would possibly be caged in one place, in one role without being able to explore her own feelings and see the world. Not any of the high-traffic places, mind you, but those hidden gems that are tucked away where no one can find them. That's what she wants to be able to do and find, especially with her university years coming up. The thought of being locked away somewhere fills her with dread.
History Pre-Memory Loss
Savannah Payton was a doomed soul from the start. She was born on October 4, 2017 in Sunset Valley, Texas to 19-year-old Samantha Payton. Samantha had left an abusive household in Round Rock at 17 and was working multiple jobs to afford her modest apartment in the Valley. She worked the shelves by day, and worked the streets of Austin by night. It was one of those lying assholes that ended up giving her Savannah in the first place. Samantha kept the baby because it was nice to think there was at least one person in the world who would love her no matter what. She was right, for a while.
Samantha tried to go straight, tried to make the Walmart job work, but it just never brought in the cash to lead the life she was accustomed to. So Samantha went back to the streets, often leaving young Savannah at home by herself for hours at a time, trying to make due with Nickelodeon cartoons as her parents. Spongebob was a poor father figure. Eventually, Samantha was busted trying to take her business to some clients at South By Southwest and that resulted in Savannah entering the foster system at age nine. She didn't take to it well.
She never trusted any of the parents had her best interests at heart. They tried to encourage Savannah to use her natural talents. She was a smart kid, she could do great things, but Savannah didn't believe them. Why would they care about when her own mom clearly didn't? Savannah was very rebellious and she learned that if she wanted something, she was going to have to get it for herself. She bounced around Texas homes for a few years before she was arrested at age 13 for shoplifting a Nintendo Switch 3 from a Walmart in Elgin and was sentenced to a year at the Travis County Juvenile Detention Center. Savannah would become very familiar with this place.
While serving time there, Savannah met an older girl, a 16-year-old pickpocket named Alexis "Chapolita" Delgado who she finally was able to find some level of trust with. When Alexis was released on her 17th birthday, she was able to secure a cheap apartment in one of the few rundown sections of Austin remaining, and made it clear that her place was open to those of her sisters who needed it. When Savannah was released, she wasted no time moving in to Alexis' place. The truth was, Alexis was no more rehabilitated by the system than Savannah. She intended to break into some other illegitimate businesses with the help of her extended family and the girls who joined her from TCJDC.
As the youngest member of this new crime family, Savannah was often chosen for the high-risk missions, because if she was caught, who cared? She'd just go back to juvie. She enjoyed the challenge of acquiring cash and cars by any means necessary, and her blossoming beauty gave her some leeway in situations that called for it. Chapolita was very fond of Payout, as Savannah became known, partly because of her nearly abandoned last name, and because whenever she came back to the apartment, she paid out like a slot machine with her elicit gains. When Savannah turned 17, Alexis finally told Savannah just how fond she was, and that's how Savannah discovered who she truly cared about.
However, that joy was short-lived. Travis County detectives had been building a case against Delgado for months and in February 2035, they were able to make their move. When they busted down the apartment door, Alexis was nowhere to be found. She got a tip prior to the raid and hightailed it towards El Paso. However, she neglected to inform Savannah, who woke up to the sounds of the cops screaming at her to put her hands above her head and explain the ton of cocaine in the apartment.
Despite Alexis' disappearing act, Savannah was still willing to protect her Chapolita, and refused to give up any potential leads. Having now graduated past the age of juvenile detention, Savannah was threatened with a lengthy stay in grown-up jail. She still refused. However, before the paperwork could be drawn, Detective Harrels was approached by Drs. Wayman and Hagerty asking for candidates for an experiment they were set to run in New Mexico. The detective smiled and offered Savannah a choice: head to a boarding school in New Mexico designed to offer her a chance to save herself, or do 10 years in jail on drug charges. Miss Payton chose the former, not knowing what exactly was in store for that end of the deal. She just knew she wasn't going to be caged in for anyone.

The year is 2035. The world mirrors that of the one we live in today, although more technological advancements clearly place this setting in a near future. Despite all of the progress the world has made for a brighter tomorrow, the environment has begun to suffer as a result of the innovation. Where trees once soared high now stand factories for mass production, infringing on the natural habitats of wildlife across the globe. Animals of the jungle have begun to dwindle and disappear and endangered species are becoming the subject of myths and legends.
In the Spring of 2034, Dr. Charles Wayman, a famous scientist and PhD of Animal Science, was in a terrible predicament. His research had been grounded in the social behaviors of wildlife for over two decades- he spent years exploring abroad in the plains and savannas of Africa in order to better understand how predators and prey managed to coexist. However, with his subjects of study vanishing before his eyes, he yearned for a new research topic that would once again propel him into academic glory; a new experiment that would allow him to unlock the answers that the science community was yearning for.
It wasn’t until Dr. Wayman stumbled upon the thesis of Dr. James Hagerty that an idea of his next project came to mind. Hagerty’s writings compared human emotions and relationships to that of those in the jungle and savanna and went into great depth regarding the physical and emotional connections between the two breeds of human and animal. This planted the seeds for Dr. Wayman’s new purpose. What if the hierarchies of the animal kingdom were tested in the power structure and social hierarchy of human teenagers?
And thus Project Untamed was born.
Over a grueling year and a half, Dr. Wayman’s grand plan began to slowly but surely come into fruition. He hired Dr. Hagerty to be his partner for this experiment and subsequently brought on a team of experts to oversee the medical and technical aspects of the project. Dr. Wayman then pulled a few strings with the help of governmental funding and secured an abandoned boarding school campus that sat on 20 acres of rich plains in New Mexico. He filled the various buildings with dormitories, classrooms, and recreational equipment as well as testing labs, observatories, and medical offices. With the wheels in motion, only one thing was left: his research subjects.
The process was complex, but through trial and error a system was created. Through various methods, Dr. Wayman and Dr. Hagerty acquired 50 teenagers that would become their “lab rats”, if you will. Some came from orphanages and foster homes, others were given up by their parents due to unpaid debts, and a few were sent away for juvenile detention. Their memories were completely wiped- everything they once knew vanished and left behind was an empty canvas. Once a clean slate, doctors and scientists rewired their personalities through the manipulation of mental and emotional traits. The teenagers were exposed to imagery, sounds, and subliminal messages in order to solidify their place in the animal hierarchy.
As a result of the process, the teens began to act in specific ways. Human in presence, but like their animal in nature. Their personalities mirrored that of their animal- predators, confident and prey, meek. They were forced to believe this was their reality and their actions confirmed it. During this trial period they were fed specific diets that resembled that of their animal and were athletically trained to isolate specific muscles in their body based on their animal’s physical makeup. The teenagers remember nothing of the training or their past, but when they became conscious after the month long training period, all they knew was that they were being sent off to boarding school. There, they will be observed, watched, exposed to specific scenarios that will test them and let their true colors shine. Every aspect of the scenario is controlled. Every part, that is, except their behavior. That is up to them.
This is where our story begins. The “students” have been living in close quarters for roughly two months at San Agustin Academy. The animal hierarchy has already made itself apparent in the social structure of the school campus, but you don't seem to notice as you attempt to navigate the woes and tribulations of teenage life. Still… there's something that feels fictitious about this all, but you can’t put your finger on it. You ignore the feeling inside that you can’t remember life before this and focus on the present. But, as most stories exhibit, all will be revealed in due time.
✸ Regular site rules: No godmodding, no perfect characters, keep things PG-13 and fade to black if necessary (remember, these kids are in high school, but I understand that hormones are a thing for teenagers). ✸ At the least, please post once every 14 days, but you are certainly welcome to do more than that, and it’s definitely encouraged! I do understand that sometimes life gets in the way- if this is your situation, please communicate that to me and the rest of the group so we can make it work. ✸ Maximum 3 characters total per player. This may change as time goes on, but this is the limit I'm setting for now. ✸ Please think about your commitments before you join! If you don’t think you’ll be able to do this, that’s okay, but don’t join if you won’t be able to contribute quality writing. ✸ On the flipside please don’t over-post! I’m hopeful that people are going to get into the story and enjoy writing. However, we are a team here and I want to give everyone a chance to develop their characters and the storyline. Once you post, give at least two other character posts or a few days before you post something again (unless you are posting for a different character). ✸ If you’ve read this thoroughly, tell me what your favorite fast food item is! My personal favorite is cheesy bread from Dominos, it’s life changing with Ranch. A close second is a Shamrock shake with french fries. ✸ Collabs are encouraged but not required. They’re a great way to build subplots and add to the story at a faster pace! ✸ When creating a character, please keep in mind the gender and animal ratio. If you see that a lot of people are making male characters, make a female character! Or if you see that a lot of people are choosing a similar type of animal, go for something different! ✸ I cannot stress enough how important it is to communicate! I will create a Discord for us to discuss the plot, characters and such. Please use it! Not only is it a fun way to interact with everyone, it will allow you to immerse yourself in the story and further the plot. ✸ The goal I’d like to set is at least 2 paragraphs per character post. Yes, this is a casual roleplay, but let’s strive to be creative and produce quality work!
Your character is a teenager who is a subject in this experiment (unbeknownst to them). They are in between the ages of 16 and 18 and have no memories or recollection of their past. All they know is that they woke up one morning, conscious of their surroundings and aware of the fact they were going to boarding school in New Mexico. They are unaware of the fact that they represent a specific animal, but their mannerisms, personality, and actions say otherwise. Keep in mind that they are completely human in mind and body, not animals, however their personality traits resemble that of a specific animal in the animal kingdom for the purposes of the experiment. As well, we’re aiming for wild animals in this RP- those that can be found in the jungle, savanna, Arctic and the Sahara. Please do not post these in the character tab, post them in the OOC so I may approve them. As well, please try to make sure there is only 1 or max 2 of each type of animal. There are many in the jungle to choose from!
