Welcome to San Agustin Academy! Nestled in the plains of New Mexico and named for the remote town it resides in, San Agustin is an academic safe haven for students in need of direction and a brighter future. 

Located on the north side of campus is the student residence. Each student gets their own room which includes a full size bed, desk, chair, and dresser. Additionally, each room has an en-suite bathroom as well as a closet for personal belongings. The residence is co-ed and each floor houses students with similar interests and personalities to promote community and collaboration. There is a kitchen stocked with food and snacks and a common room on each floor for all students to utilize. 

Academics are our top priority at San Agustin, so we have invested lots of time and effort into designing state of the art classrooms and study environments to enhance the learning experience. Featuring comfortable lecture hall style seating, interactive whiteboards and high definition projectors, our classrooms promote participation and enable comprehension of key subjects. After class, students are able to complete their work in our modern library which holds collaborative seating options, hundreds of books, and high speed computers.

The center of campus houses our cafeteria! Feeding our students 24/7 with healthy, nutritious and individually catered meals is important to sustain them throughout the day, and we do so by providing each student with a specific meal plan built just for them. Everyone is different, and we want to make sure we are mindful of student’s diets and preferences! Outside of meal times, we offer snacks, smoothies, fresh fruit and vegetables to fuel our students minds and bodies. 

What better way to sweat away a day of productive learning than a workout in our state of the art fitness center! In our student gym, we have machines of all types- treadmills, ellipticals, spinning bikes- you name it, we have it! Also located inside of the fitness center is our swimming pool, perfect for swimming laps or muscle rehabilitation. Directly outside of the fitness center is our outdoor track, complete with state of the art polyurethane coating as well as hurdles. Each lap is equal to one quarter of a mile. All students have 24/7 access to everything in the facility so they can work out at all hours of the day, whatever their preference may be! 

Located directly next to the fitness center, students will find the arts building: a haven for those who are drawn to their creative side. The two story structure houses a dance studio with half wall mirrors as well as a ballet bar, an art studio filled with mixed media such as paints, clay, glass, and graphite pencils galore, and an auditorium with ensuite music rooms. Also open 24/7, students can feel free to express their artistic nature all day, every day. 

There are many areas on campus where students tend to congregate! In addition to collaboration spaces in the academic building, the fitness center, and the arts building, our main courtyard is a great place to catch up with friends, complete homework outside, and get some fresh air in the middle of the day. 

Let’s face it… as much as we try to keep our students healthy and safe, unfortunately they sometimes get sick or injured. Our health center, located on the west side of campus, is equipped to handle all instances of illness and injury. With medical testing, an x-ray machine, and more, we’ll have your student in and out the doors feeling better in no time! 

At San Agustin, we believe that being “unplugged” helps both the mind and the soul seek a higher purpose. We want our students to have limited distractions in order to enhance their boarding school experience, and research shows that personal devices with cellular data capabilities hinder learning potential. As a result of this, we ask that our students turn in their personal cell phones and devices at the beginning of the semester in exchange for campus issued devices. These are communication devices similar to smart phones that students can use to get in contact with their peers and teachers. Since the San Agustin “bubble” is important to preserve, all contacts have been predetermined in order to ensure that students are solely strengthening and forming connections within the campus community. To satisfy the need for popular social media applications, we have curated our own in-house apps with the same functionalities so students can share their day to day experiences with their peers through pictures, posts, and picture messages. Students are given campus laptops as well in order to complete coursework. In addition to their studies, we understand that students enjoy watching television to decompress, so starting at 5:00PM every day, their laptops are able to be used for streaming shows and movies via streaming services. 

Regrettably, students don’t have access to every space on campus, as our teachers need to have a space to themselves too! Our teachers lounge, located in the West Wing of the academics building, is an area where our staff can meet and plan out curriculum, as well as have a cup of coffee before returning to nurturing the minds of our students. We appreciate our teachers for everything that they do, so we ensure that they are at their top potential in order to help your student reach theirs.
