All guns can jam or misfire. Thats why we clean them incessently lol

Indeed, though in this case it seemed as a direct result of the mechanism that ejects the spent cartridges (excuse me, I know basically nothing about guns, not part of my culture) the cartridge basically got stuck, preventing further firing. I don't think the double-barrel has a mechanism like that, it seems fairly simplistic.

I expect that the adjustment to larger bean-bag rounds probably makes jams of that kind more likely.

I did some research and it seems there are plenty of custom sawn-off holsters, so it should be fairly easy for my character to access the weapon and then holster it when he needs to access other gear.
A beautiful story, I know it well.

The ending almost had me in manly tears.

Squid man is my idol.
Defense is always good with the overwhelming ability to fire downrange. Yes it just loads like a normal shell might need a different barrel though.

Indeed, though that's more of an offence is the best defence sort of approach. Needless to say, the tournament I'm intending to use the character in frowns upon firearms in general, the Saiga is almost too effective a weapon, in other words. Even with bean-bags loaded it could pretty effectively stop the majority of characters in their tracks.

It could also be a tad cumbersome to use in one hand, I'd assume (edit: Ninja'd me there, interesting to note the tactical sling though.). That's another reason to use the sawn-off, it's not exactly ideal, but it is of a relatively convenient size for one handed use at a pinch. The defensive nature of this character I'm making is heavily dependant on facing the enemy with a riot-shield in hand. I imagine he'll be quite infuriating to fight.

Something else I noticed from a vid I just watched that seemed to feature a non-lethal Saiga, it suffered a jam after three shots. Obviously something like weapon jamming is under my control, but imagining this in a 'real' situation, a double barrel probably can't suffer that sort of malfunction.
Hmm I wouldn't use a sawed off. I'd use a Saiga with a collapsable stock and a quick sling.

Can it fire bean-bag rounds? I wasn't sure if they could be magazine fed.

Anyway, I chose the double barrel for balancing reasons pre-dominantly, and because it can be reloaded effectively with one hand while the other holds the riot shield. The character is designed to be overwhelmingly defensive.

(and also because I hoped it could be holstered like a pistol, as my character only has one free hand to work with.)
Ah, I didn't realise you'd created him in that way, I can see how the fire and ice thing might be a bit out of theme.

Maybe just go for kinetic impacts and shielding? Hell, he could even mimic Fury's powers to an extent, perhaps a side effect of the World Machine getting a massive dose of his ability when Fury stabbed him.
What would be a good accessory for quick access/holstering of a sawn-off shotgun? Can you use a specific type of holster for it, as it's not particularly big?
TMP Pistol Pepper Ball Pistol-
The semi-automatic design is target accurate to 60 feet and provides area saturation up to 150 feet. Magazine holds 8 PepperBall projectiles and the disposable CO2 cylinder.
Magazine fed design provides rapid reloading and projectile versatility.Designed to accept the Split Shot powder dispersal accessory.

What exactly is this, is it some kind of high velocity paint-ball gun?

Oh, I see, it works like pepper spray when it lands.

Alright, so I'll have my post up in a bit.

But once this is over, I realize now that.

Dunnaman strays too far from who Kanitah was, thematically.

I'm gonna rework his abilities so he's closer to who he was, rather than Fire and Ice extremes.

Seems to me like Dunnaman's abilities still fit Kanitah, he just has an ironic twist. Kanitah used a piece of technology that absorbed energy to power himself up, Dunnaman uses a piece of technology that suppresses his energy absorption to effectively power himself down.

Still, your character, if he doesn't feel right he doesn't feel right.
You should have asked me. There are lots of cool toys for non-lethal crowd control.

The research has always been about 60-70% of the fun for me when it comes to making characters, that being said I'm not adverse to checking out some more things if you have some recommendations. At the moment I have the armour, the shield (Nova/Electric riot shield) and a stun baton, I'm still looking for a back-up weapon if electricity is no good and some gadgets or other nasties like grenades.
Since trying out non-lethal combat in the GCL I've actually been inspired to create a new character utilising modern riot gear, there is some surprisingly combat applicable stuff in there that makes for a decent human combatant who can probably take on up to T4s. Pretty interesting stuff as well, I just discovered a type of electrified riot shield that could be incredibly OP, and modern body armour is fairly impressive as well, alongside bean-bag rounds and tactical face masks I imagine the character I'll be left with when I'm done will be a bit of a beast, if relatively non-lethal.
