Current You know, I'm in 4 RPs that are basically still going, yet they're all slowing down in unison. IN UNISON.

Maiko made a faux pouting face in response to Hikaru's statement. "Oh well. I guess I'll just have to go and get kidnapped on my own then." She had already made up her mind that it didn't matter much either way. She also wasn't about to just stop living her life because she might get nabbed at any time. While she might not need the money, she kind of enjoyed her work, and when it came to a mysterious force that could seemingly kidnap you from anywhere, it's not like it mattered if she biked around the city or hid away in the bowels of her house.

"Speeeeeeaking of which, I do kinda sorta need to get back to work. The people still need their newspapers. Heck, Strange Gospel is what half of the newspapers are all about..." It was almost like Strange Gospel was finding a way to permeate into every aspect of her life, sometimes. "Oh, and could you write me a note or something to mention this? If I'm late finishing up, I'm going to need to prove this happened so I don't seem like I just stood around for a while." However, Maiko did think she could still feasibly finish on time in spite of this delay. It was better to have an excuse on hand just in case though. They were definitely going to notice that she didn't finish at the same time she usually did.

@VitaVitaAR
@Yuuta I already had Alexei offer to carry stuff for Terri.
Yasu Hirabayashi

"Yeah, like I'd want you losers hitting on me." Yasu quipped back. That was only shortly before someone came and encouraged his stupidity. It was like neither of them could even take a guess at why they were told to stand here. Bradley even passed over an explanation that might have sounded stupid if it hadn't been for the circumstances that had brought them all here. "So, um, did you not preform trippy magic stuff before coming here? Because I did. If I can shoot electricity out of my hands, then there can be an invisible school. I guess it's not just your eyes you need to start using."

Then they were joined by yet another person; someone that wanted to shoot the breeze about the guy that got punched out. "He sure went down like a bitch for such a big guy, yeah." She replied. Eyeing this new comer, she was getting a rough vibe that reminded her of the people she tended to deal with back home. Hopefully he wasn't the brainless thug type, or this was going to be an even more tiresome group to hang around. "You're not going to join their screaming match, are you?" She pointed at Bradley and Daisuke.

Alexei was disheartened to see the girl reject the idea of talking it over so quickly. It seemed they had a difficult one on their hands. Now he was certain that Daler had a third eye about these things. "Yes, perhaps you're right." He replied to Freyja. A more forceful teacher might have sat them down together and make them talk it out, but Alexei did not have the heart to go beyond asking politely. He decided to leave Johnathan to the seemingly ever growing group of people around him. He already had Freyja and Yuki tending to him, so he hardly needed a third teacher.

Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted another person approaching from afar. It was a small girl, so she must be a student. Furthermore, she was clearly struggling with a great deal of luggage. Alexei rushed over to the girl. "Ah, young miss, I see you are in some trouble!" He stated upon reaching her. "Might I offer my assistance? I can take most if not all of those bags for you if you desire!" Being the school's resident strong man, Alexei was not going to have much trouble carrying such a load. He did wonder why such a small girl was carrying so many large bags...or how she got this far with them all at all. But asking questions was not his business; his business was assisting his students!

@Hammerman @clanjos
Going too slow?

If this is going to happen every time I go to sleep, I'm going to have trouble keeping up with an rp this fast. Too slow?

In fact, could I get a recap?

Basically the one big thing that happened while you were gone was that Akiko (tipssyCalibrator's character) punched Johnathan (Azereiah's character) in the face and everyone started fussing over it.
Alexei Pavlov

This conundrum was starting to confuse Alexei. Johnathan claimed it was his fault, though Alexei wasn't entirely sure if he actually meant he had done something wrong. The girl seemed adamant he had made a pass at her, and if that was true, it would be less than pleasing. The consensus seemed to be that it was a misunderstanding though, and Alexei was inclined to agree. After all, Johnathan was not a new student, and he knew he wasn't a bad kid.

"Yes, that sounds fair." He said in regards to Natsuki's suggestion. "Let's go over to him and clear this all up, yes? I assure you, if he truly has perverted intentions, we will take action accordingly." Looking over to where John had gone, he remembered that Yuki Hisakawa was there, showing a strange amount of favor towards him. It was true that Yuki was now a staff member too, but it made Alexei wonder for a moment as to why he was sticking to John like glue. Maybe he just wanted to console the assault victim?

Yasu Hirabayashi

Yasu had to admit that this school was proving to be more interesting than she first expected. It was just the first damn day, and already someone had punched someone else. Maybe the students here would prove to be more than just a pack of bland every-persons? Yasu had no idea what had started this, but it was entertaining nonetheless. It was just too bad that half of everyone, including that big Russian lug that brought her here, had intervened to stop it from getting more interesting. It looked like the one that got punched didn't care to fight back anyway, which was lame. It seemed the excitement wouldn't last forever.

But as far as stupidity went, it seemed it was still in ample supply. The twit that Yasu had pointed over to the crowd was now yelling again, demanding that someone tell him where to find the institute. The hilarious part was that nobody seemed to be paying any attention to him. "Hey, buddy..." She said to him in a less than sincere tone. "Why don't you try yelling even louder? Maybe this time someone will pretend to give a toss."

Alexei could not believe it; not long after Daler cautioned them to watch the kids, the kids started trouble. Alexei sometimes wondered if Daler didn't predict the future in those dreams of his. It was a terrible way to start the school year with one student assaulting the other out of the blue. He was most worried this would give people the wrong impression about how things operated here. Fortunately, the situation did not seem to escalate. Others arrived on the scene to seemingly calm everything down, and at least one of the students was demonstrating an excellent attitude towards the situation. More concerning was the seeming apathy his fellow staff members showed towards the fighting.

Regardless of the circumstances, Alexei knew someone needed to add an authoritative voice to this incident. Joining Natsuki in between the fighting pair, he began to speak. "That's quite right, young lady! This might be an institution dedicated to honing battle talents, but that doesn't mean anybody should be fighting willy nilly. Part of your education will be learning to use your talents responsibly." He was partly addressing the immediate students and the crowd in general. "Now, little miss..." He said, turning to face Akiko. "Would you like to explain why you did this?" Alexei had heard her say the word "pervert", but that didn't give him too much insight into what had happened. Hopefully, it would all just be a big misunderstanding.

Maybe it would be an idea for us to slow down a touch? Some people are definitely going to get left behind at this rate.
Alexei and Yasu

"Ah, here we are!" Alexei loudly declared as the gathering place came into view. "This is where you'll take your first step into our institute! You'll make friends, learn cool new powers, and have a great time! This I promise you!"

"Yeah, no." Yasu replied flatly. "I didn't come here to make nice or to enjoy your dumbass institute. I'm here for the powers and nothing else." Of course she was technically here because her parents twisted her arm, but she wasn't about to tell anyone that. Her story was that she was here for the trippy electric powers and that was that.

"B-but..." Alexei stammered. He'd already been exposed to this girl's attitude when he collected her earlier, but it always hit him hard when she was so blunt. "Come now, it's a school! What's school without a little socialising? If you just give it a try I'm sure-"

"Nope."

"Just for me?"

"Nope."

"But-"

"Nope."

His repertoire of arguments already exhausted, Alexei was just about ready to just let it go for now. That was when a loud voice rang out. It seemed one of the students was lost, in spite of actually having made it to the vicinity of the right area. This would normally be where Alexei stood in to help, but he saw an opportunity for something better.

"Say, why don't you help that nice young man over there and make your first new friend? I gotta meet the other teachers, so bye!" Alexei made tracks as quickly as he finished that sentence, leaving Yasu behind.

"Wait a minute, I-" She called out after him. But she could tell he wasn't stopping. "What a load of crap." She muttered. Rolling her eyes, she decided to actually help the guy. Not that she gave a toss about helping him, but probably weren't going to move on without all the students, and she wanted to get to the interesting part already.

"Hey, sailor boy." She called out to him. "The party's over there. Use your eyes next time." After pointing him in the right direction, she started walking off towards the group. The faster this was all over with, the better.

Alexei approached the growing collection of teachers. "Ah, greetings, my comrades!" He called them all comrades whether they were terribly familiar with each other or not. As far as he saw it, the staff were all one big happy family, just like they wanted to mold the students into, whether it matched reality or not. "How is everyone? Anything or note happening yet?" A cursory glance suggested the students were already socialising among themselves. It was a promising sight to see, but it was still too early to say what the years prospects were.

@Azereiah @Silver Carrot @Western Robot
@tipssyCalibrator Will "Roxy"'s drill pierce the heavens at some point?

Also gonna take this opportunity to mention you also called her Roxy on the ability section of your CS.

Anyway, I might take a while to post, but if anyone wants to have the big Russian dude as their way to the institute, let me know.

EDIT: Actually, it was the power section. Also the appearance section.
"Well, I'll try..." Maiko began. She wasn't so sure it could possibly be as simple as staying safe around the city, though. With so many people having vanished, it couldn't be that they all just happened to walk down the wrong street at night, could it? It was still sound advice, but she couldn't help but imagine whoever was behind this as being some sort of determined organisation with oodles of resources. Nothing short of half an army could keep someone safe from that. Of course, that was just her overactive imagination talking, and she still had no idea what was actually happening. "I'm afraid I still have a job to do though, and Mainichi doesn't fork out to have it's part timers escorted around the city."

Then a random idea popped into her head. "Ooh, ooh, can I get a police escort? I mean, you guys think I'm in danger, right? You gotta keep me safe, riiiiight?" Anybody could make use of having a police escort, but Maiko wasn't really asking for serious reasons. She was thinking more along the lines of how cool it would be to have the police making a path for her through the city. It would be like she was some big-shot VIP. Of course, she didn't actually expect to be taken seriously, and neither did she really think it would matter. With all this uncertainty around town, who was to say the police would even be able to keep people safe by sticking around them?
