From my experience of the other RP I was involved in that had a GM disappear, democracy was actually the best system for working things out. Because the GM disappeared, it sort of left a power void and an idea void. Obviously no one person could just take it up but when everyone joined in, it worked. It means that everyone has a say so it does keep interest, build ties and ultimately makes a good RP.
As Gowi said before, just making an OOC for this is just flat out stealing so we can't do that. We need an RP that combines the original ideas and our ideas but has a similar feeling to the original one.
If we could get a discussion going with people chipping in ideas, it'll give Jabbers a little more time, keep this alive and if we need to, help us make a new RP.
