It will be explained in the incoming CS, I will make a quick mention on the tech level regarding firearms.
Right now the most common form of a firearm is found exclusively inside the Dwarven Anfangrim kingdom, and that is the matchlock based weapons. There are rumors, however, of wheellock based weapons. Though most people outside of the Anfangrim people do not know much about these gunpowder based weapons, and their use would come at a bit of a surprise.

Well it changes things a bit, that's for sure. But believe me when I say that darkness will try and find a way to corrupt the light throughout this story.

That would be an interesting concept that would be very fun to play around with!
I plan to start writing the IC post tomorrow after noon, and will hopefully have it finished around the weekend if not than a week from now. Once we get a few more CS's in I will have a better idea on how we're starting!
