To absent friends, lost loves, old gods, and the season of mists; and may each and every one of us always give the Devil his due.

Bio
Hi! I'm Naril. I write, build things, and I'm incredibly busy, all the time. I'm probably older than you. I'm not interested in isekai, school settings, sandboxes, excessively grimdark settings, or invitation-only threads; I'm very picky about militaria, I don't care for A Song of Ice and Fire, Nation roleplay bores me to tears, most fandom doesn't really catch my attention, and though I prefer Advanced-level writing, I'm not going to help you write your book (Unless you feel like paying my day rate) - which almost certainly means I'm not here. Some day, maybe. Probably not, though!
I am interested in science fiction, cyberpunk, space operas, and stories of working together, uplift, and progress. You'll catch my attention with fantasy adventures in an interesting world, or with almost any modern fantasy. I have a soft spot for superhero stories, and you might find me in the occasional Star Wars or Star Trek fandom.
My standards are high for myself and mild for everyone else; I love writing dialogue and making you feel like you can taste the place I'm creating. I write in the style I like to read, which is the part I find fun. If you want an example of the authors I enjoy, look at Ann Leckie, Tamsyn Muir, N.K. Jemisin, Martha Wells, Terry Pratchett, and Neil Gaiman.
I'll have a sheet for you...probably later today. It'll be a little bit odd, so I may PM it to you first. But! Happy to see the OOC going. I can definitely get behind a little bit of modern fantasy right around now. :3
Mm. Well, this could be intriguing. I haven't seen anyone do a Hunter setting for a while, but I've been feeling the urge for some modern-fantasy. Still, I've got a couple questions to start with.
- What's going to be the driving force to get the characters together?
- Is there going to be some kind of overarching story, and is it one that the characters can survive? I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm not terribly interested in a Call of Cthulhu-like "endless, preying horror from which you will not escape" story.
- Are you planning on using the tabletop character sheets, or treat it more like the usual semi-freeform sort of thing?
Hmm. I have been in the mood for something sci-fi-space-opera flavoured.
My biggest question right now is just to make sure that the plot allows for (it doesn't have to guarantee it, of course) that the Cast can, through some means, actually "win." That this isn't just the story of crushing, inexorable defeat. Everything doesn't need to be shiny happy rainbows and butterflies, but at the same time I'm not looking for something that's just bleak, protracted darkness.
Well, now that we have a new list of feature requests, I'm going to bang on the drum of turning signatures and avatars off, whenever the priority list lets that be a concern.
I'm also wondering if the Contests area is going to come back - I rather enjoyed reading some of the WOTM submissions, and it'd be a shame if that went away.
