On a completely different note... You know that character that Raineh didn't want me to use? Well, now she's going to use it herself. Because that totally makes sense >_>
"There you go," Leon replied to Book'ss biting answer. "Now, was that so hard? And yes, I'm happy. Nice to meet you, Books," the young man smiled. "Like I said, my name's Leon. Now, I could ask the rest of you what your names are," he turned to the group as a whole, "but I fear that that would be a waste of time. So instead, I'll just wait for you guys to identify each other. Of course, I could always just give you some nicknames myself..." He fell silent for a second, then pointed at Callum, finally reacting to the guy's speech. "Like, say, Blabbermouth!," he called out. "I mean, what was all that about anyway? 'Clap your hands if you believe?' Ooh, maybe I should call you Tinkerbell instead! Yeah, that sounds nice. Of course, that's more of a fairy's name... Meh, whatever."

This being taken care of, the young man turned back to the now stuttering Muse. "What are you talking about? Seriously, if you want to ask someone a question -- like me --, you should try to from an actual sentence. I mean, what are you even blabbering about?"

I'd really prefer we not go through that again. ><

Last time it was not only a struggle to get everyone through but we lost the area that we previously decided would make a good base for our players. Granted, it was justified since the area was of an actual RP that was actually dying, but in this case it's just a nameless RP setting, sooo...

Yeah. Even ignoring the annoyance/struggle-to-find-a-way-to-make-things-work-again factor, the canonical explanation for Settings fading out of existence was that the connected RP is/was dying. Therefore, while it may have been applicable to the would-be-base, it really wouldn't work here, nor is there any reason for it to happen at all.
Wait, wait, wait... Arty, are you planning on making this area disappear too? With the whole ground flickering and Ominous Black Wall of Doom (tm) thing.
As you probably have heard by now, but a Boeing 777 passenger plane crashed near the Ukrainean/Russian border on its way to Malaysia. It was most likely accidentally shot down by pro-Russian separatists, who thought they were aiming at a military transport plane. The death toll: all 283 passengers plus all 15 crew members. totaling at 298 lives lost. Most of said passengers were Dutch (At least 173 of them, making it the second worst air traffic disaster in Dutch histor. At the moment of writing this message, the nationality of 20 victims is still unknown.). I... I'm just really glad that I don't know anyone on that flight.

Current death toll according to the latest news
- 20 Unknown
- 173 Dutch (As a result, today is a national day of mourning on all public buildings over here, with the flag behing hung half-mast amongst other things.)
- 44 Malaysians
- 27 Australians
- 12 Indonesians
- 9 Brits
- 4 Germans
- 4 Belgians
- 3 Phillipines
- 1 Canadese
- 1 New-Zealander
Amongst the victims are also three very young children, possibly even infants (the cause of an early irregularity in the death toll, seeing as they didn't have their own seats).

Seriously, I just... don't have words for this. Due to an already deeply stupid conflict, almost 300 lives were cut off, just like that. 300 civilians, not even remotely related in any way to either party. All because they were at the wrong place at the wrong time...

Yeah, I know that feel. I suppose all we can do is hope things smooth over... I mean, if WW3 happens then it'll happen regardless of whether or not we worry. And if it doesn't, then we're stressing ourselves out for no reason.Hence why I kind of just try to ignore such thoughts...

I tend to try that too. For the most part in wars that don't directly affect me (I.E. All of them), my general opinion is that both sides are idiots for being unable to even try to listen to eachother. I just feel sorry for the general population that gets abused in the process -- and, in this case, the almost 300 civilian deaths that didn't even had anything to do with the conflict in the first place. The thing is, I can't help but think of what could happen next in situations like these. A random conflict in the Middle East? Meh, what's new; those tend to stay relatively local anyway. Russia and Europe/USA in what's essentially a new Cold War? That can only end badly.

What the hell going on with Israel? Hasn't it been a hotbed of activity since like... always?

Partially true. Before Israel was named Israel, jews, christians and muslims all lived in general peace right next to each other. It was not until the West came along and mucked everything up, along with tons of European Jews immigrating towards 'Israel' that this started to go south. I'm assuming Cal is talking about Israƫl invading the Gaza Strip with ground forces though, which hasn't happened in quite a while. Like I said before, I just feel sorry for whoever is born in that hellhole (including both sides, but especially Gaza.) This is also why I really don't want Israel to join the NATO. According to the NATO rules, this would allow them to demand that most of the Western world choose their side in the ongoing conflict, something which can only cause problems.

Also, a couple of updates on the plane crash victims:
- 20 Unknown
- 173 Dutch
- 44 Malaysians
- 27 Australians
- 12 Indonesians
- 9 Brits
- 4 Germans
- 4 Belgians
- 3 Phillipines
- 1 Canadese
- 1 New-Zealander
Amongst the victims are also three very young children, possibly even infants (the cause of an early irregularity in the death toll, seeing as they didn't have their own seats).

It is unknown if anyone on the ground got hit by the random shrapnel or anything like that.
Thanks, Kaga. I mean, I knew that we can pretty much post anything here (going by the fact nobody ever said anything about us using this as a chatroom-like place forthe Football/Soccer World Cup), but still. Thanks.

...You know, I'm just afraid sometimes that things like this might eventually drag the entire world into World War 3. The Netherlands is a NATO country, and any attack against any member of the NATO counts as an attack against all of them. Combined with the already sour relations between Russia and the USA (Which is also a NATO country), and the clues that the Separatist are getting weapons from Russia... Yeah. I mean, deep inside, I know that nobody really wants WW3. However, I also know that humanity is deeply stupid and, for the most part, very nationalistic. To me, it's pretty much a given that WW3 will happen eventually. I just hope that it won't happen in my lifetime, you know?

Doesn't matter if there's a need or reason. I feel like Neo's perfectly within his rights to post his responses to big things like this - you know, just some place to get his thoughts down.
Hell, if anything, my experience has taught me that a healthy dose of off-topic chatter in an OOC thread can help make RP groups feel closer and keep general activity on the forum moving so as to help strengthen the RP's longevity.
And overall I really see no reason why RPing has to be all-business like you act like it is. Why can't roleplayers engage in some friendly conversation? Or in this case, maybe vent about something that could be personally upsetting? :/

This. For the record. I am Dutch too, and it's summer vacation over here. Meaning that my family and/or friends could've easily been on that plane. So please excuse me for feeling a bit stressed right now.
