I might eventually make a character sheet and quit bothering you all with my rambling.
Generally, when you're stuck on what to do and unsure of direction, then the cardinal rule of life applies: keep it simple, stupid.

Yeah... Does anyone remember the character whose suit kinda looks like Spider-Man, and he travels through black holes? He's a relatively new character I believe. Can't remember if he's DC or Marvel.

Edit: Never mind. Found him. It's Sideways.
Amalgamations are a tricky one. Personally, I don't have as much of an issue if it's something like Green Lantern or Dr. Fate; when the powers are tied to an object, who's to say that a Marvel character wouldn't find it before a DC character or vice versa? But I always try to keep it in the realm of "which characters run in the same circles?" Carol Danvers is a perfect Lantern, IMO, because she's already so tied to space. Many of her allies and enemies transfer over. But something like Matt Murdock GL? It's trickier.

I've been thinking of possible Marvel characters to don the Helmet of Fate. I did present my very convaluted concept abstract of the helmet being used as a Nova helmet and being transferred to Richard Rider to grant him Fate's powers but being able to maintain control because of the helmet being tampered with by the Nova Cors. No one commented on it so I took that as a confirmation of it being too convaluted. Haha.
I'd echo Wraith's thoughts.

Plus it's a One Universe game, not an amalgam game. We aren't setting out to amalgamate characters here. We're combining two universes while interpreting/modernising the characters in them. There might be some amalgamation of certain aspects along the way but to set out to amalgamate characters as an end in and of itself is probably a little misguided.

Also true.
@Nib yeah but it's kinda unnecessary.

Yeah, I know. I also struggle with feeling like I don't know enough about any particular character (especially compared to you all) to write them well enough and stay true to the character.

Just cause it's 'One Universe' you don't need to make a Marvel Hero into a GL or a DC char into a NovaCorps. You can always just use a generic char and have the differences be due to the union, like I'm sure the GL-Corps is different with the NovaCorps existence and vice versa, like Bounce said.

That's true. I'm just wanting to utilize the One Universe to its extent, and I think my immediate thought is always "Who can I mash together and how?".

I do have other ideas and concepts I can explore, so if my GL app is stepping on anyone's toes I can easily put Kai-ro back on a shelf and pull down one of any number of similarly bad ideas.

I could always sub Sam Alexander and approach the same universe from the Nova Corps side. And I also have a Justice League Dark concept I drafted up for a game that fell through I could pull from as well. And then there's always pulling out Garfield Logan for random green dancing cats.

You're fine. I'm just over here having trouble nailing down a concept, so I wouldn't want you to change and then me have nothing because then we lose your cool idea.
I think it's a little early for Blue Lanterns to be popping up.

While I understand the emotional spectrum is a large part of the Green Lantern mythos now, it took decades to introduce them in the comic books. Why not take some time establishing the GLC before rushing ahead? Especially given this is a Year One game.

Fair. I'm probably not going to go with a GL since Bounce has made an app for one.
@Master Bruce -
Since Bounce has made claim to a Green Lantern, are other lanterns a no go, or would a Blue Lantern potentially be acceptable?
Some concepts for everyone's comments:
