Name:Aizawa Mizuki
Gender:Female
Age:17
Sexuality:Heterosexual
Appearnace:

Her long, black hair are usually loose and somewhat disorderly nowadays- with her right hand as it is, styling them is just too much work, and she doesn’t feel much pressure into doing this anyway. She used to put much attention into her physical appearance, always caring for it to be neat and proper, but ever since the accident she learned to let go and now she’s much less strict with herself.

Mizuki is pretty short, even for a Japanese girl. Her slender body build and fairly invisible cleavage didn’t use to be a big deal back when she had friends and popularity-but now, she finds it mostly to her dislike that her body turned out that way. She’d much rather be taller, and more curvy. However, in the end, this is a trivial matter, and she doesn’t let something like this bother her too much.

What she actually hates the most is the fact that the right side of her face is paralyzed and can’t move on it own. This means that making facial expressions is somewhat hard, and even the most sincere smile looks often mocking or ironic from the outside. Sometimes it leads to misunderstandings, as it’s often hard for the other side to read what her intended facial expression was supposed to be. Eating and drinking are also pretty difficult, as she has to put extra effort in keeping her mouth shut, and care not to bite her cheek when chewing. However, fortunately, her ability to talk has not been distorted, and her voice is as clear and audible as ever. Still, there isn’t a day she wouldn’t wish for it to be normal and healthy. Out of all her disabilities, even the “loss” of leg does not bother her as much as what happened to her face.

She has a distinct, melodic voice, a fact she used to be very proud of. There was a time when she wanted to be a singer, but after several attempts, found out she has no patience nor talent for this sort of stuff. Still, she literally likes to listen to herself talking, and, especially post-accident, sometimes quietly talks to herself-taking especial care not to be heard, of course.

Disabilities:

Brain damage due to car accident. While her memory and cognitive abilities are intact, her motor functions and eye-hand coordination have been severely impaired. What's worse, part of her spine has been damaged, and several parts of her body are now paralyzed as a result. Perhaps fortunately, most of the damage seems to be accumulated on one side of her body. She can't move or feel her right leg, three of her right hand's fingers are useless and almost entire right side of her face is paralyzed, making it impossible for her to make full facial expressions. However, her sight and hearing are intact, and there is "some hope" for "partial recovery" with time and training.

She's forced to use a crutch-in fact, given her condition the doctors wanted to put her on a wheelchair, but for Mizuki it would be far too much to bear. In fact, in the beginning, she didn't want to use the crutch either-preferring something more stylish, like a crane or something among these lines. However, several attempts at walking with a crane and maintaining reasonable speed while doing so quickly brought her down to earth. In the end, she was forced to come to terms with the fact she needs a specialist medical equipment and afterwards she put extra effort in learning to walk and live with that extra accessory-refusing to let that impair her ability to function like a normal human beign whom she, despite everything, still considers herself.

Her hand has also caused her some problems. Mizuki is right handed-which means, she had to learn to write with left hand, as it was impossible to hold a pencil with only the ring and middle fingers functional. Before the accident she used to like playing video games-which too, became impossible, as she can't even hold a gamepad anymore, much less play PC games with the keyboard. However, not being able to play video games have resurrected her childhood passion for books, and, during her time at Yamaku, she found out she likes spending most of her free time in the library.

Personality&Bio:

Before the accident she was one of the most popular girls at school. Good-looking, good grades, good family as well as her natural charisma and wit quickly made her an object of admiration and jealously among her peers. Guys wanted to date her, girls wanted to hang out with her. However, despite all of that, she always put a firm, invisible barrier between herself and the others. Early in her life, she developed a sense of superiority that only strengthened win time. Mizuki considered herself better then the others and thus, she only made acquaintances-not true friends, admirers-not boyfriends. Because of that, despite being surrounded by people, she sometimes felt lonely and alienated-however, she was alway sable to cast away these negative feelings by reminding herself of her achievements, beauty, and bight prospects for the future. Not even in her darkest nightmares did she suspect she'll end up disabled and surrounded by other disabled people, in some remote school in a middle of nowhere.

However, that's what happened. Pulling herself together after the accident required a lot of work. While physically Mizuki wasn't in a critical condition, the psychological damage was far, far more serious. During the first several weeks after the accident she refused to eat, leave bed, or even look in the mirror. She put no effort in the rehabilitation and the doctor's prognosis for recovery were grim. However, with time, she came to terms with her new condition and, slowly but steadily, learned to live with her new handicaps. Of course, returning to school was a huge no. She could never stand showing herself in her new state to her former friends, fans and enemies. And enemies she had a plenty-social misfits, disabled students, ugly students and all the other outcasts whom she often enjoyed bulling whenever there was an occasion. Now that she was disabled herself-and far worse then most of them were-she decided she'd rather killed herself then go back to that school-or any other school, for that matter. However, when her parents presented Mizuki with the possibility of continuing her education at Yamaku, she accepted. Surrounded by other handicapped people, she figured out that she will have far greater chances of adjusting herself and, hopefully, rebuilding something resembling her former life and status-without feeling inferior to anyone.

However, when she arrived at Yamaku, ready to start her school life anew, she found out that not everything is going to be as she imagined. Many of the students enrolled in the school were, according to her, hardly disabled at all. First days at the new school were pain. Her plans to become popular again fell into ruin, as she spends most of the time being bitter and jealous of everyone and anyone who happens to be in a better position then herself. She realized that she has changed. The bitter, spiteful thoughts that accompanied her during the first days at hospital, returned. However, rather then feeling hopeless and hating herself, Mizuki hated everyone around her. No longer was she a talkative person she used to be. Most of her attempts at communication or making friends failed-not that she tried much, either. The disabled ones were disabled and pathetic, the "healthy" ones were lucky and smug, and the teachers were either too cold and disregarding or, even worse, too caring and compassionate(which was much, much harmful to her sense of pride and self-worth). She found herself misanthropic and unwilling to bond with others. Most of the time she spends in th library, as she found a new love for books during her stay in the hospital, and she tends to avoid larger groups of people.

That being said, she is by no means a shy person. Mizuki can talk, and she still has some of her wit and charisma of before-it's just that she doesn't feel the need to utilize them. She absolutely despises shy. introverted people, and often, she likes to imagine bulling or making fun of some of her less boldly-mannered peers, just like she used to occasionally do in the past. However, given her new situation, that is hardly possible, and so, she has to satisfy herself with empty fantasies while cursing her fate and the world around her.

Skills:

She used to be a pretty good gamer, but unfortunately, the new state of her right hand prevents pursuing this sort of hobbies. However, she started reading-from serious works of literature and science, to light hearted romances and flashy light novels and manga. In the beginning, reading was painful. Inexperienced with literature, she didn't know whether she should read fast, or think deeply about every paragraph. However, with time she found her own pace, and now, "literary pursuits" play important role in her life. That being said, she doesn't like discussing these things with other people, and still feels a little embarrassed when someone sees her with a book or a manga magazine-it reminds her of the nerdy otaku at her former school, whom she used to considered losers, and, frankly speaking, to whom she still thinks herself better.

Other than that, she doesn't have any outstanding skills or abilities. Most of her life spent pursuing trivial, though pleasant things, and she didn't show any special talents anyway. Thanks to the diligent effort she used to put into schoolwork and high-level of education provided by the prestigious schools her wealthy family has formerly enrolled her in, she has a strong knowledge of various academic subjects and, having learned both English and German for several years, is almost fluent in both of these languages. However, none of these accomplishments seem to matter to Mizuki nowadays. She found out that she has lost most of her pre-accident drive for studying. Probably, it was something she did to keep a certain image of herself, rather then for it's own sake. Ever since the beginning of her education at Yamaku, she hardly put any effort at all into independent study, and most of the time she doesn't even pay attention during the classes. Her grades can no longer be called "good", although the aren't terrible, either. Not that she'd care, either way.

This is exactly what I was trying to say.

Not really..It depends on what you mean by "western culture".

If you go beyond the flashy exterior, Japanese people really aren't that much different. Certainly, much, much less different then Chinese, or, dunno, some people from Kongo.
I just started downloading KS btw, but won't get to reading it until tomorrow.

Then why not just have it in the west?

I suspect that's because it's heavy influenced by the VN set in that country.

As for me, I don't really care...but maybe setting it in some remote island/neutral ground in the middle of nowhere/etc would actually be a better idea then setting it in the west or east, as it would allow students of different races/nationalities.
Dunno...obviously heard about this famous/infamous VN, but never played it. I like the idea behind this rp though, is my lack of "lore" knowledge going to be a problem?
Looks kinda interesting...
if there is a separate cs for magic and tech users, what's the point of asking for affinity?

Anyway, interested.
