Bio

You JUST scrolled down!

Hello out there! My name's Mason. I like a lot of random stuff like comics, Masters of the Universe, M*A*S*H, X-Files, conspiracy theories, as well as a good superhero themed role play! I'm more of a DC freak than a Marvel zombie but I did grow up on mutants and 3rd string heroes. Once in awhile I'll make a few micros in MSPaint for my RP's because I love designing heroes as much as I do writing/reading about them. I'm about to try and get another Amalgam Universe themed game off the ground, if you're interested gimme a shout!

My top RP's on the Guild:

Young Justice 2020
Justice League Unlimited
Titans of Gotham
Champions of Engine City
Marvel Reborn
Legion of Superheroes Return [stat based]

Top Characters:

Ditto - Young Justice series
Bulleteer - Justice League Unlimited
Leviathan - Titans of Gotham
Fastlane - Champions of Engine City
the Thing II - Marvel Reborn
Ultra Boy II - Legion of Superheroes Return

I've been RP'ing for awhile. I mostly RP to keep my writing skills up to par, and I generally RP between Casual and Advanced. I've been a member of the guild for quite a bit, pre Guildfall even. Ninety percent of the time you'll find me in some superhero themed RP or something based off of another fandom like MotU or Power Rangers. Currently in the process of developing my own comics!

Favorite DC heroes (I won't go into villains to save space) in no order: Aquaman, Hawkman, Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), Superboy (the clone), Swamp Thing, Starman, Animal Man, the Ray (90's era), Impulse, Captain Atom, and Batman Beyond.

Favorite Marvel heroes list: Human Torch I & II, Capt. Mar-Vell, Black Bolt, the classic Destroyer, Havok, Multiple Man, classic Scarlet Spider, Spiderman 2099, Nova, and Colossus.

OTHER FAVORITES: Space Ghost, Haunt, the Maxx, Shadowhawk, Green Hornet, Madman, Doctor Star/Andromeda, the Phantom, He-Man, and Zorro.

I thought they were mutants? The whole getting powers from drugs I thought was something they were working into the story to separate it more in the new Freeform live action series? In the comics I *think* drugs may have awakened their powers, but they were always still considered mutants to the point of joining the Dark X Men undercover during Siege.

Yeah M'Baku was always just one of the greatest warriors who tried overthrowing the government when T'Challa took a leave of absence. I'm not as familiar with the Ultimate stuff, when I saw BP actually turning into a panther I was done.

I am interested in learning more about the Ultimate F4 though, particularly Ben Grimm's transformation into an energy being of some kind after hooking up with Sue after Reed left the team. I just never got around to finding the right wiki article...

Merry Christmas all!

Got a post up for some civilian stuff since it's in a slow spot of the holiday season. Anybody feel free to jump in I left it pretty vague. I set @Weird Tales up for a bit of a convo before blasting something out of the sky with my boy's heat vision. I also went ahead and assumed we lost our shadow manipulator and wrote her out and worked with the three recruits who haven't posted within the story in case any of them decide to return after the holidays. Also mentioned Sol and Momentum talking days earlier! Who's up for some character development?!? Lets get to know our peeps in-game!

Days later, Legion HQ...

The new Legion of Superheroes was off to a rough start. The girl from Talok VIII walked out on the day of the team's first mission. Three new recruits and a veteran Legion member of days past had defeated a small squad of techno squids and a humanoid robot minion of Brainiac Five. However, two recruits en route to the new HQ in Queensland Park as well as another returning veteran [Stargirl] never made it to orientation several days ago. Cosmic Boy, currently confined to a futuristic hoverchair, looked over recent reports in the media for anything of use. "Could it be Brainiac?" he asked himself.

Several Legionnaires were walking around downtown Metropolis in their civies, however each wielding their own unique powers and their new Legion flight rings/translators. Sol was amazed at fast food in the 31st century. Big Belly Burger was still holding strong some thousand years later as the United Planets' largest fast food chain spanning entire space sectors. Now though, it just said 'B's' on the wrappers. Trashcans in the new age featured biodegradable waste bins that converted waste into mulch when full. The oddness came in the units moving themselves every so often to spread the stuff around.

"So...Isaak? What's with just having the pentagon for a symbol? Why not go all the way and put the S on your chest?" asked the yellow eyed Daxamite in his white New Navy t shirt tossing some waste in the wrong bin. @Weird Tales

"You're not supposed to put metal alloys in there..." grumbled an alien civilian in passing who now sped up looking back.

The waste bin exploded from its opening and launched the now semi destroyed can into the air with a bit of a bang like an aerosol can in a microwave from the 20th century. It scared a few members of the group but Sol realized his mistake and blasted the remains away with his solar heat vision.

"Did you guys hear Cos' talking to the authorities about a few recruits not making it to HQ? I wonder why he doesn't want US looking into it?" Ultra Boy continued trying to break the ice and get to know his new brothers in arms like he had with Momentum and the others who went on the first mission days earlier. Sol had a ton of respect for the veteran Ferro Lad and thought his power was one of the coolest.

@NubianLegend Why not T'Challa's brother/rival, Man Ape?

I don't think he's ever been T'Challa's brother, unless they were just calling each other 'brother' cause they're homies and such. I call all my friends brother from time to time, to the point I sound like Macho Man or Hulk Hogan LOL

I'm off work today so I'm gonna move this game forward with a slight timeshift. It's apparent we've lost a couple people but we've still got enough to move forward. I won't horribly maim or kill anyone's characters just on the off chance they return after the holidays are over.

12/23/16 EDIT: Yesterday while I was under my house a water pipe busted. Took most of my day and it's still not completely fixed. May be late this afternoon before I can get another post up.

🐲 Chapter 1: Anything Better

________________________________

🐲 Chapter 2: The Kaiju, the Captain, and the Typewriter

He wore a mask that was red, white, and blue. Braddock was a patriot, and flying his top speed towards the coast. The plane of a scientist had to make an emergency landing in the ocean, and there was both a large red creature and a large orange creature to deal with. Captain Britain flew down to the ship that was floating pretty well for a plane its size while the creatures fought.

"I'm gonna get you guys out of here! I think I know what's going on out there. The red guy's new, but the orange thing in underwear is the last thing a guy named Charles Bentley wrote about on this mystic typewriter he came to possess..." the Captain began when the scientist interrupted from behind the protection of his guards in their big doofy life vests.

"That 'red guy' is my son, he's one character I didn't write about on an old typewriter..." Fred's father commented.

"We'll get to that later... for now strap back in. It'll be easier for me to carry you gentlemen to the coast in the plane..." Capt. Britain instructed as he took the plane in his hands and flew away.

Fred continued to grapple with the creature, blasting it in the face with fire breath and ripping at it's body with his claws and teeth. The red beast spun and struck the monster in yellow underoos with his tail and knocked it back in the ocean. The monster let the ocean consume him and peaked over the water one last time with his eyes before seemingly vanishing into thin air. Fred was stumped and Captain Britain didn't make it back in time. There was just a red kaiju in the water now, dumbfounded, and a patriotic superhero floating in mid air.

"Do you... understand English?" Braddock asked.

Later...

"So.. you say this was all the work of an old enchanted typewriter?" the scientist father of the kaiju hero asked as he was being tended to by a European EMS crew along with his guards and pilot.

"That creature in the underwear was called X by a writer named Bentley. I'll pay him a visit after I make sure you guys are good, you here for business or...?" CB inquired.

"I'm just here with my old man, I'm not chasing a supervillain or anything..." Fred commented laughing out loud a little.

"We're here for a science exhibition in Cambridge. Archaeologists in Europe always invite me out to these things." the father explained.

🐲 Epilogue...

Captain Britain touched down outside of a cottage where a car was parked outside along with a moving truck. The hero had no idea what was going on, had quite an odd look on his face. He walked up to a young man, probably in his twenties, who had a box in his hands. Before Braddock could say anything the man took off into the home. A woman came out and noticed the man in tights and just raised an eyebrow.

"Somethin' I can do for you, mate?" she asked.

"I'm looking for a man named Charles. Charles Bentley? I needed to ask him about his old typewriter?" Brian explained looking around at all of the stuff going into the cottage.

"The old timer who lived here died last week. Nobody said how, but the man who sold us the place... I think HE took the typewriter you're talking about. Why would a superhe.." she began to ask before the masked man cut her off.

"Did this man give you a name?" he asked the brunette who was picking up another box.

"Colt I think he said his name was... Jeffry Colt..." the brunette responded, "What in the 'ells goin' on mate?"

FREDZILLA

"Ah, welcome to mi casa! It's French for 'front door'."

Your Name: The Kid Lantern

Character Name: Fred L.

Character Alias: Fredzilla, will come up with a better codename eventually

Character Allignment: Neutral Good

Character Appearance:

Fred is a lean muscular young man with longish light brown hair and green eyes. He stands around six feet tall and is always seen wearing his toboggan caps. When on missions he wears a battle suit of red scales and black. When in kaiju form he stands between 100-175 feet tall but often leans down. His kaiju form resembles a red version of the Godzilla remake...

Characters Abilities: Fred has the ability to tap into the power of a giant red kaiju for enhanced strength, enhanced durability, and fire breath. He's also resistant to fire. The longer Fred taps into the power the more he begins to look like a reptile and begins showing scales, teeth, and the ridged body parts [mainly his forearms], however it isn't long after he actually becomes a giant kaiju if the need arises.

At regular human size Fred can tap into about a quarter of the kaiju's power. His strength gives him the ability to lift roughly 10,000 pounds [this weight is right around the weight of a 40' cargo container as well as a monster truck]. His durability at this size protects him from heavy fire arms, and he can even survive dropping out of a helicopter.

In kaiju form his strength level goes up with his size but still nowhere near the untapped limits of strength his comic counterpart shows. The monster's max lift here would be roughly 40,000 pounds [around the weight of a mobile home or a loaded greyhound bus]. His durability is mostly still the same however now explosives do less damage than before.

The fire breath and resistance to fire remains the same, just in kaiju form a fire breath would be much larger.

Character Weaknesses: Fred as well as the kaiju can both still be effected by flash grenades, sonics, energy/electrical attacks not including fire, mental attacks, as well as superior strength. This guy could probably take two or three Sentinels on in kaiju form, but four or more would neutralize the beast. He's also able to get sick just like anybody, and gas based grenades and attacks would also effect him the same.

Characters Skills: Fred likes to quote old action movies, and is a movie buff. He also comes from a rich family so he has access to many things others normally wouldn't have access to like private planes.

Origin Story:

🐲 🐲 🐲 🐲 Early Life

Fred's father was a scientist who earned his fortune reverse engineering technology from other worlds for the United States Army over the last several decades. For a time in the mid 90's he would work at trying to reproduce the Abraham Erskine Super-Soldier Serum used in creating Captain America. When the scientist thought he cracked the formula in '98 after the birth of his son months earlier, the US Army was quick to find a candidate. The formula used on Corporal Todd Ziller used a combination of mutant growth hormones, gamma enhancements, and other questionable technology. With his wife and infant son Fred at what was supposed to be the birth of the next Captain America, tragedy struck and what emerged from the transformation process was something of a monster not unlike Godzilla. The military seemingly took the beast down but not before it caused the deaths of several soldiers as well as Fred's mother. Nobody seemed to notice a drop of the creature's blood dripped in the young child's mouth.

After a troubled upbringing without his mother, all the money in the world couldn't have made Fred any less of a slacker and the complete opposite of his brilliant father while living life in Greenwich Village in lower Manhattan. He was an average student all the way through high school and insisted after the 6th grade his father put him in public school. He read a lot of comics and science fiction magazines, loved watching the Discovery Channel and the shows about aliens, ancient civilizations, and monsters. He was also a big fan of action films and anything with Godzilla. Without much effort and getting closer to his high school graduation Fred got into incredible shape and just chalked it up to being mellow and easy going.

🐲 🐲 🐲 🐲 2014 - My Own Monster

Shortly after graduating, Fred got his own apartment in Brooklyn. Living in the Sheepshead Bay area by the ocean near the community college, Fred continued to live a life without want until noticing scales coming up on his skin off and on for several days. He discovered his strength when rearranging his apartment and lifting his fridge by accident with one hand. His fire breath came sometime after when he was in his marjuana phase and early on he thought he was just tripping out. That was until he caused fire damage to three floors of his apartment complex. After several hundreds of thousands of dollars went into the reconstruction Fred realized what he thought was his destiny: becoming a superhero.

When a strange creature came up from the ground splitting concrete and asphault and putting evening traffic to a halt, Fred went into action in a sleeveless hoodie throwing heavy debris at the creature in an attempt to knock it out. More and more scales came up on Fred's bare arms and he noticed other things happening to his skin and muscles as well as his teeth. The fire would eventually ignite within him and a large red kaiju like creature emerged where the teen millionaire once stood. The young would be hero defeated the monster, but not before the military caught wind of what had happened.

Believing Todd Ziller's body had somehow been reanimated, the US Army reached out to Fred's father who was already putting the pieces together. After Fred went into hiding for several weeks staying with ex girlfriends and stoner friends from school, his father and the military came for him.

🐲 🐲 🐲 🐲 2016 - Big Hero

After training with the US military for a couple years in both the United States and Japan, Fred was finally given some downtime and moved back to his apartment in Brooklyn. He was a little quieter, still funny when he felt the need, and still very much a slacker. He longed for the days of being a real superhero, having his own arch enemies, and a secret HQ... but for now he had to make due with being an agent on call for the US Military. He was a bit bummed he wasn't in town to help fight against Galactus, but hopes one day to tussle with the likes of Goliath should he ever escape custody or an off the grid Sentinel. Fred also applied and was accepted to the Kingsborough Community College across the Bay where he's majoring in English as well as acting as the school mascot. Fred has also taken to doing as much charity work as he can squeeze in volunteering at the Salvation Army as well as other projects.

"It's called recycling. One pair lasts me four days. I go front, I go back, I go inside out, then I go front and back."

Story Arcs:

"American Kaiju in London" - Joining his father on a meeting in Europe, their private plane was taken down by what appeared to be a giant dragon creature simply called X. Fred goes into action but not before one of Europe's more prominent heroes hits the scene: Captain Britain. Could the creature really have been spawned from the old typewriter of a man named Charles Bentley?

Showdown in the Swamp - A creature dubbed 'Monstrom' is making problems for a military ammunition plant down in the swamps of Louisiana, and the US Army asks for Fred's assistance.

Young Super Team Awesome - Eventually Fred will meet other young superhumans, and probably form a team.

Supporting Cast:

Enemies - Goom, Rommbu, Monstrom, other Marvel Monsters including X, rogue Sentinels, and Goliath [later forges the superhero alias Atlas], as well as a reanimated Todd Ziller. Possibly Plantman?

Supporting Cast - 'Dad', Charles Bentley [intro arc only], Captain Britain [intro arc only], US Military [possibly SHIELD?], 4th or 5th string female hero who lives in his building... possibly Nomi Blume from the Ultimate Universe? Mutant with untrained magnetic based powers?

@The Kid Lantern: I'm fine with it. But I am just warning you that the majority of the characters (if not all of them - Fantastic 4, Avengers, Spider-Man) are in New York City. I just don't want you to write yourself into a corner because no one is able to interact with your character if he is going to be outside of NYC.

Nah he still operates mostly out of Brooklyn, the government and/or SHIELD just send him on missions elsewhere once in awhile to fight other creatures. The opening arc just had him accompanying his dad to Europe, cause you know, sometimes parents won't take 'no' for an answer.

Also I left the bit in the CS about not being around for Galactus, did his thing still happen in this game's history? I don't remember offhand if it was in the timeline or not...

~KL~
Yeah, I don't understand what happened. Seemed to be a lot of interest in the beginning but I suppose where missions don't last long people see it as both positive and negative. Might try this one again later, but yeah... one more day marks the two week point and as per the rules we'd all be dead since nobody's really checked in. Shame too cause there were a lot of really interesting characters in this.
