BTW I will not be going on my hiatus as I did not advance. so I am here yet lol
@deia876lat lol, I dare say you sound like you would be dangerous without sleep lol.

I posted, I know it is not much but hopefully it moves the story along.
The young mage and knight mounted her teal colored wyrm when she appeared out of the skies. A lot of training must have gone into the mount to enable it to return to her master even despite the hell that was happening around them. Distress was clearly painted on the mount’s face as it reacted to every noise and explosion. Alexa gave it a thankful and comforting pat on the pretty teal scaly neck. “Damn, you got her trained good sweet cheeks. I don’t know if I would have come back to get you if I was her.”

The blonde knight scoffed. “Well I am glad she does not think like you coward. Now come on, there is no time to loose. Captain Venray will need our help.” In a practiced and efficient manner, the pretty knight jumped onto the seat. An exasperated look told Tobi that he needed to hurry up. “Alright, geez. Do you even have a plan? Infatuation and recklessness don’t tend to hold up against guns and magic you know.” He gave her sarcastic look.

As soon as he was settled, his arms wrapped maybe way too tight around her midsection, the pair took off from the deck. The wyrm seemed to calm some with the strong, confident hands of Alexa on the reins. Her blue eyes searched the skies for hazards and looked towards the juggernaut of a ship where the two Venray lords were located. From behind her, Tobi asked again into her hear. “Seriously, do you have a plan?”

Looking down, the two young soldiers saw the battle unfold under them. However, this was done in burst because they had to evade air to air explosions and the odd attack from a Viemese aboard one of those annoying air craft. Suddenly, Alexa had and idea so she turned to Tobi to be heard. “Mage, are you able to fly one of those?” She pointed to the small craft. “Yeah, I suppose so. and call me Tobi. That is my proper name you know.” The young mage sounded not entirely sure despite his words. “Good, we will commandeer one. Neither of them will be happy about this but we are going to rescue them.”

Tobi rolled his eyes and exhaled exasperated. In his opinion, nobody ever thanked those that saved them against their will but Arn HAD asked them to retrieve Tyrhallan and apparently the silver haired knight would not leave without the older black armored knight. “Fine, but if you have been paying attention, we will only have one chance to do this. If that strong bastard they are fighiting catches us we will be dead meat for sure. Now lets go ahead and find us a ride you crazy girl.” In his mind he wondered why the hot girls were always crazy.

Soon enough their target came to them. One of the Vieamese single craft had them in their sights. While the wyrm was fast, it was not faster than the craft. However, even though no plan passed between them, the two pre-empted the other. Tobi shot a strong beam of light to blind the driver. A back flip of the teal wyrm and he fell upon the other man utilizing a burst of air to blow the armored enemy at the last second. “Ok blondie, now what?” Just as he asked, the two suddenly saw Tyrhallan on the grasp of the enhanced enemy.

“Noooo!” Alexa shouted as she spurred her mount onward. Having a bit of difficulty, due to the unfamiliar controls, Tobi was a few moments behind the pretty Brightblade. “There she goes again…half cocked and all emotion.” The young mage said but with an obvious smile on his face. Her reckless behaviour seemed to be alluring.

Thankflly to all of them, Arn was not far behind. Through Eilis, he sensed Tyrhallan’s life force flicker for a second. Like Alexa, he spurred his mount forward. Fate was bringing all of them together but would it prove to be their end?
And woe to the poor bastard that wakes me....

this was epic lol. Yeah, its meant to mess with you and make you irritable and forgetfull etc. But it is just a game, one that must be played. But this is only IF I get advanced.

Is it technically my turn? I was not sure since the story was more Tyrhallan driven. I guess I could have Tobi and Alexa join the the fray but I fear they would be more hampering than helping.

The young Shield Hero was a quick study. It stemmed from his awe and interest at things that he had never imagined possible in his life. This whole world was technically that but he had always been an inquisitive person. Unlike his younger brother, Fer had not been able to spend his days behind a book. If he had been given the opportunity to accompany Auriel while visiting the great library, he would have been in heaven. Knowledge was something that drew him. Thus, he was more than willing to learn anything that not only would scratch that itch but could also help him learn to be more useful.

Certain examples or references that Cole gave were lost on him but what he could grasp was committed to memory. A few nods and okays let the other lad know that he had his full attention. The young shield was especially interested in the leveling and enhancing mentions. He was not dumb. He knew that they were getting stronger. You could almost feel it. Having a numerical representation however, made it the more real.

Like his companion, Fer was itching to see how they both stacked against the monsters of the waves. This was double edged wish however. What if the monsters that they were to fight were so far out of their league that the effort would be herculean. Based on the fighting prowess he had seen from Rayla and Marcino, it was not hard to imagine that the two heroes still needed quite a bit to learn.
The shield grunted at Cole’s probably very accurate appraisal of their mercenary tag along. “You are probably very right there buddy. Marcino is after all a mercenary. His loyalty is probably depended on the amount of gold given to him. While I don’t think he is a man without scruples, I do think that his loyalty should be taken with a grain of salt.” Fer shrugged. “I think it is best to keep our full trust only to each other and our winged companion.”

He looked around again. “Speaking of which, where is she? I am sure that her assistance in the subduing of Rayla should be recognized.” His attention was brought back to his companion as Cole tried to pep him up. A chuckle escaped the young shield.

“Don’t worry Cole, I am not going to go and cry myself into a slump in a corner somewhere. Knowing my shortcomings is important for me to grow. I just don’t know how to do that efficiently and in my eyes, I am not doing it quickly.” He patted his friend on the shoulder. “Don’t worry. I will willingly be your shield and this country’s or world or whatever. I was given this.” He raised his arm where the jewled bracer sat, “for some reason. I just hope whoever made the choice had a good reason.”

That reason seemed even more vague when Cole told him about the previous wearer of the Shield. “Well, I guess it does not help to dwell on the troubles of the past. For whatever reason, I am the wielder of the Shield now. No reason wondering what was wrong with the old wearer and no reason wondering if there may be something faulty with me. I think our goal is pretty simple actually. Fight the waves and survive.”

The two heroes were interrupted by another example of the strange fantasy world they had been summoned to. The man in silver armor was straight from the drawings of the books his younger brother like to read. Fer nodded his readiness and followed beside Cole. He felt he needed to show his friend that he would stand beside him and in doing so, ease the pressure that the Sword probably felt as being the defacto leader. At least, that was probably what the small folk and the King wanted. The look of the knight was not lost on Fer. Just what the hell had happened in the past for the people to have such contempt, distrust, and dislike of him merely for being the wielder of the Shield? This was a mystery that he felt he needed to solve.
lol, I am not sure if you know about US Navy Chiefs. But they basically give you a crash course on many things but overburdening you with taskers, beating you up with push ups and other exercises and other thins for six straight weeks all week and allowing you about 3-4 hours of sleep a day lol.

The stout dwarf, veteran of many campaigns upon which he had valiantly run towards danger as arrows, javelins and other projectiles fell upon him or fought his way towards a wounded Legionnaire deep into the enemy lines with little more than a grimace on his face, almost cried as he felt the flying contraption finally set down and clamp into place. The motor’s of the Helius hummed to a stop and the doors finally opened, freeing its blissfully ignorant passengers from the death trap they had willingly embarked upon. At least, that is how it felt to the medic.

He and the pair of winter fairies had not shared much in the way of back story due to not only the dwarf’s innards desire to spill their contents upon all within the vicinity of the ailing medic, but also because Bowyn’s guarded nature and Rue’s very valid attitude that Arn had not yet proven himself trustworthy. So the long miles of lush river fed lands flew by quickly. Though not quickly enough for the young dwarf.

The trio’s arrival at riverport was marked with stares. Even though the Legionnaire armor probably had something to do with the heads that turned, the soldier was sure that his white haired companions probably were the main reason. Bowyn probably agreed with him because he returned each stare so forcefully that Arn feared violence at least a dozen times before then even exited the Helius landing station.
He silently enjoyed and marveled at the beauty of Rue’s wings as she stretched them and actual felt a bit ashamed that he had so brazenly stared but he could not help it. Nor did he fail to notice the look of longing from Bowyn. The remembrance of a remark that the young fairy lad had said when they first met rang in his mind. The winter fairy had lost his wings. The young dwarf could not even begin to imagine how that may feel.

Arn also did not know how he could help. Could wings even be re generated? As apendages, they were probably like hands or feet. Their loss, just as detrimental. For a being who had probably enjoyed the freedom of traveling across the skies at will, being grounded was probably worse. Then again, having flown inside an unnatural contraption probably felt like salt in the wounds after being kicked while down.

”So! Time to explore and also find food and shelter. I think I heard a dwarf say on the Helius there was an Inn here right? Well we should go find it!”

The young dwarf found himself following the pair. More or less like the wolf. Yet unlike the wolf, he was not really part of their circle. More than once he thought about just turning a corner and going a separate way but something made him stay. So he lingered, just a few steps away. What was it that kept him with them? Was it fear? There was certainly that. He feared the magnitude of his current situation and desired some company.

In the army, the shield walls of his companions offered solace and protection. It was said that dwarves, much like the stony mountains that they inhabited, were stronger together. Indeed, once a bond was made between two dwarves, they were practically inseparable. Perhaps that is what he feared the most. He had always felt like an outsider even amongst the shields of his brethren. Now that he was in the company of Winter Fairies, he felt even more alienated.

Such was his discomfort that he made up his mind to fade into the darkened shadows of the port town. The trio had arrived at what looked like some sort of odds and ends type of establishment. Probably the one of thousands in a city that was literally only purposed to trade. Rue seemed to be enjoying the fare. The young soldier figured that while the fairies were busy window shopping, his absence would not be missed. The two white haired youths would continue their lives without him and perhaps even fare better. After all, his mission was to aid a princess that was sure to dive head long into the war that was now bearing down upon them like run away Helius.

”… also the dwarf outfit, please…”

He caught the pretty young fairy’s sweet voice as he walked off. He hesitated. Had she thought of him merely out of politeness? Or had she somehow involuntarily included him in her circle? A dark part of his braid told him to keep walking. It was better this way. It was easier. It would be less heartbreaking wondering than knowing for sure that neither of them accepted him. Another part of him told him to be brave. Take a chance. He was a dammed dwarf was he not? Why would he not follow the craft of his people and forge a bond. The Gods knew that only strong bonds would survive the fires of war.

Arn stood a few steps away. Finally, swallowed hard and turned back. His voice was a bit tight as he tried to rein back the unpleasant emotions that had plagued him during their walk from the Helius. “I think a travel cloack would work for now Miss Rue. Will offering to pay for my own be thought impolite?” He truly did not know what the Winter Fairy social norms dictated in such situations.
He nodded at Bowyn’s suggestion. “Indeed, Bowyn, at the very least, finind an inn would provide a meal, and a place to rest. Perhaps a place to talk. I feel there is some things I owe the two of you.” His voice was apologetic. The soldier had made his mind to trust these two, for better or worse.
Sooooo big heads up and I will remind you next Wednesday. If I am advanced in rank, I have to go through an Initiation period. I will be extremely busy getting my ass handed to me so I may have to go dormant for about six weeks. Just an FYI.
