Yui followed Azure into a room of rooms. The mansion was grand, yes, but far too grand for Yui's tastes. Every couple meters or so, there would be staircases that seemed to lead high into the sky. The two finally stopped in front of a door. With a gentle twist of the knob, Azure opened the room. It was plain and bare, save for the necessary. "This is the room which you may rest in, Miss Selinofoto.", Azure explained. "If you need anything, please ask me anytime."
"I may need assistance getting back into this room." Yui looked behind her down the endless corridor. No way would she remember.
Azure merely smiled, "Of course. Ring the bell if you need me." With that, Azure left Yui with a bow.

Closing the door behind her, Yui walked into the expansive room. Since when was the last time she's felt a space so... free, open? The quality of the air felt better than the inn, and back at home. Home. Yui thought about it for a second. She didn't have one here, in-game. Not that she wasn't lacking in funds, merely that there was no point? It was a decorative 'achievement', in a sense. Nothing that Yui was interested in, but now she is living in the game itself, it felt like a good idea. Yui sat down on the bed, and opened her menu. She went through her list of friends, all of who were lit grey with a question mark. There was a possibility that there were inside the game, but Yui wouldn't know, she never had 'close' friends in-game and in real life. Maybe she will encounter them, someday. She sprawled across the bed, thinking about Myrtle's friends.
"How nice." Yui sighed. Turning her head a little to the left, Yui spotted the bell Azure mentioned on the dresser. "... Should rest my eyes." And so she did.

Once Myrtle's maid left to prepare ahead, both paladin and mage began a light stroll through the markets and the streets. They talked at length about everything, anything. Yui talked about her solitary, how she never settled in one place, was more of high-end mercenary for people who needed a tank or DPS.
"I was never good at healing." Yui chuckled, recounting about the time a group nearly died multiple times because she would refuse to heal until critical moments.
"What about you?, she asked, curious about Myrtle's own experiences.

When Myrtle commented about great it was to live in a game, Yui mulled about it. From her perspective, it wasn't fear or panic that stops her from enjoying the moment, but it was the sense of duty and tingling that kept her alert. Yui looked around. Physically, it was hard to differentiate between player and NPC. Besides the odd behaviour, and unnecessary sayings that spewed out their mouths, players were now 'citizens'. Of Usira. Of this world residing their most beloved game. It would stir many emotions for a lot of people, but not Yui. The sense of duty and foreboding prevented her from relaxing, even as they were walking, Yui was constantly surveying their surroundings.

After a time, they would arrive in front of Myrtle's mansion... it was magnificent to say the least. It would have taken a while to get to this point, and Yui was impressed by Myrtle's own achievements.

"Tornado!"

Yui began to brace herself to the ground as soon as Myrtle excitedly chanted a spell. Surprisingly, the wind wasn't as strong as she thought it would be, or rather, it was placed away that made them safe from its pull. When it dissipated, Yui remained speechless. Even when the Belva bid his farewells, Yui did not move. Only staring at the two, at at distance from her, a look of disbelief on her face. When she came to, Yui began muttering something under her breath while moving closer to the maid and her lady. "Very well... lead the way.", she sighed, following the two towards their home.

As they walked through the bustling city, full of confused life and raging conflicts, Yui stared at the bright pair in front of her. They stirred a deep feeling within her. Holding a hand to her heart, Yui took a deep breath in and sighed softly. "Not now...", she whispered to herself. It was too early to feel despair. There was an iceberg in these artic waters. Sooner or later, it will be found.

Yui stared at the hand that outreached towards her. "The name's Myrtle Bramblewood. Pleased to meet you, Miss.", spoke the young Human. There must be an unspoken etiquette to use in-game usernames. Not that she had any qualms about using her real life name, but in another way, it felt nice. "Agaue. Agaue Selinofoto." Yui responded, firmly shaking Myrtle's hand, like it was a business greeting. Yui glanced at the Belva, who - from his stance - seemed to not want to interfere. Fine by her. Yui was not evangelistic, nor it was of her mind to be associated with the drama that unfolded earlier.

However, it did not mean she was not concerned for her safety. One look, and Yui knew that Myrtle had no combat experience whatsoever. Turning her back to them, Yui looked to the bright blue sky, closing her eyes as she felt the slight breeze of the wind, explaining, "It was dangerous. I do not know how long you have been stuck inside this game, assuming you're a player as well-". Her armour rattled as Yui faced the trio again, the sun made her a glowing figure. "I'd be more aware of your new reality." Yui folded her arms, but her face remains as straight as ever.

After hearing Myrtle - if she had any thing else to say, Yui asked, "What are your plans now?". Yui needed to see the state of affairs, of the world. There were things to be addressed, and Yui knew that she had to get to the bottom of this mysterious summoning. If they wanted to come along, so be it. If they needed help, so she would, as long as it led her to the cause of her buzzing intuitions.

There was something wrong, very wrong. Yui has always had this intuition, whether it made or break something, it has gotten her out of situations of bad happenings. The feel of low-grade bedding, the smell of pinewood, the sounds of chattering, and... laughing? Things that do not belong in her household. Yui slid around the bed, feeling the cold timber as she touched the floor, her seemingly pale nightgown flowing just past her rather stocky but well-defined thighs. In a calm and nonchalant manner, she pushed herself out of the springy bed, only to come face-to-face with the small dresser mirror.

It was not her body, yet it also was. She was aware what this meant. The little plot detail that lead many into a world of fantasy, how very clichéd it was to have happened to Yui herself. Yui clutched her head slightly, feeling the effects of one too many drinks from the night before. It was proof that it was very real, the question is, why? Standing around, merely staring at her reflection, would not bring that answer to her. She'd have to seek it herself. However, Yui would not permit to go out immodestly dressed.
"Equip, paladin."

As experimental as it was, it had worked as intended, a flash of white and Yui had been suited to her tank armour, all in glorious blue and valour.
"Inventory." Yui successfully called upon her character storage box, filled with items that she had meticulously gathered during her years playing Emerald Odyssey. Swiping across to her armoury inventory, she spotted her prized shield and lance, her weapons. Yui briefly closed her eyes, reminiscing her time obtaining it, almost permanent damage to her wrists and fingers. Precious memories, but-

Once she reopened her eyes, steeled with strange resolve, Yui waved her HUD away and left the room.

As Yui descended the creaky wooden stairs, the sounds of laughter and shouting progressively got louder. The delicious scent of homecooked food penetrated her nose, cueing the grumbling of her stomach. "Perhaps I should eat..." she muttered to herself, but a single look at the state of the tavern, and Yui knew she would not be able to eat in peace. Opting instead to go to the street markets, Yui walked up to the reception table to talk to the hostess.
"Why hello! How was your night? Would you like to order something?" exclaimed the hostess in a jolly tone. Yui shook her head, reaching her hand out to place a gold coin on the counter. "Thank you.", she thanked the staff of the tavern, and turned towards the exit, leaving the tavern just as a brawl exploded.

Clutching several bags full of sweet and savoury goods, Yui felt proud of herself. Her haggling skills in-game was as good as in real life. It was a rather ferocious battle of economy, neither Yui or the merchant ready to back down. Eventually, they'd all give in to her death stare - which is not on purpose, but Yui had no way of knowing. She simply thought that she had driven a hard bargain. She eventually came to the centre of the floating island, the Wellspring Park. A place known for player AFK'ing and some other questionable things. A crowd had placed itself into the middle of the grounds, and curiousity had taken Yui once her newfound sharp hearing picked up on some sort of argument. Drifting towards the edge of the people, Yui could see through the gaps that a heated discussion - well more like bickering, between a Titan and Belva. A huge contrast in size, hell, the Titan could just pick up the potato and-

Yui stopped her thoughts there. They weren't a potato. They were a player. And acutely aware of the situation. Just like with her very heated bartering with merchants, neither Belva or Titan would back down. It was plainly obvious that they'd settle it with fists. Yui's eyes spied the unconscious man on the ground. I see.
One to never decline or provoke a fight, Yui kept watching on while nibbling on sugar and cheese bread, until she saw pink hair pushing through the crowd. A young Human had appeared between the chaos attempting to defuse the situation. A tense moment passed, before the crowd started to disperse, and eventually the Titan woman left begrudgingly. All those that were left behind were the young Human woman, the Belva male, and the unconscious man.

Baffled, Yui watched as the girl shook the poor man, who was almost frothing at the mouth, until a blue-haired woman entered the picture. Very obviously a servant of the pink-haired Human, especially with how she introduced her maid to the Belva. Yui could only watch as she witnessed the Belva picking up the man by a leg and drag them towards shade. Finishing off the last part of her food, she followed them to the tree. Her shadow loomed over the trio as she came close, but ignored them until she came to face the unconscious man. Kneeling down, Yui pressed a hand on their temple and began casting, "Prayer."

A twinkle of light shone across the man's face, and he began to relax. It wasn't much, but at least it would alleviate the pain and help him avoid the heavy consequences of a concussion. "It would have been wise to stay out of a dangerous situation." Standing up again, Yui faced the three of them, pointing her statement directly at the young pink girl. Her face is stoic, but the words come across as a gentle warning, rather than admonishing.
@PKMNB0Y I'd love the discord link, please~.

  • 'I think it's sorta odd that the class is mounted by default, as we have mounts already extant within the game's systems.'
Ohhh, I see. I was thinking that Paladins are a cavalier class, rather than just using a horse to get around (as in... you wouldn't have a swordmaster that relies on the ground and stances to be fighting horseback).
I see what you mean though, so it's an easy fix!
Paladin no longer require a horse to fight. Weapon type changed to accommodate the playstyle.
'Imagine having to chase after a boss to do damage as a melee in normal gameplay. Yikes.'
Hey! It makes for the greatest workout!
  • 'Harvester should probably be more specialized.'
Yeah, I kept staring at it, like something was wrong with it. Should be fixed now.
Mini-rework to Harvester. Made specific to flora life only. Passive ability added.
