Here's my character!

Of course I'm in! Yay, friends! :D
Name: Erica Allie

Age: 22

Companion: Alden Taverner

Physical Description: At 4'10 and 100 lb, Erica is extremely short and often mistaken for a child from afar. The roundness of her face doesn't help. She has gray eyes and mousy brown hair cut into a short pixie cut. She wears a dark grey pant suit with a white shirt and a silver tie.

Personality: Erica rarely speaks a word, which can be quite exasperating to those around her. She's not shy, but usually finds talking to be an annoyance. She enjoys watching people, and even interacting with them, so long as they can put up with her silence.

History: Erica grew up as an only child in a middle-class family in a small town. She recently graduated from college with a degree in computer science and found a job in a small company across the country from where she grew up.
Alden approached her one day at the office with an envelope bearing her name. He had found the invitation on his desk, probably set there by accident. She didn't know what it could possibly be, or how it could have made it to her new job. After some unfruitful Internet research, she was intrigued, but not convinced it wasn't some sort of scam. The next day, she handed the invitation back to Alden to see what he thought. He took it as an invitation to be her "+1". She decided she wouldn't correct him, and instead attend the event.

Name: Alden Taverner

Age: 27

Companion: Erica Allie

Physical Description: Alden has dark brown hair and brown eyes. He has a strong jawline softened by some light stubble. He wears a cheap black suit, completed by a white shirt and black tie.

Personality: Alden, or Denn, as most people call him, is a very easygoing person. He's not a extremely chatty, but he does enjoy friendly conversation and has a cheeky side that comes out occasionally. He doesn't like to talk or think about the past, instead plowing forward in life with determination.

History: Alden grew up in a poor family, but he taught himself how to code as a teenager, hacking away at night after his shift at whatever job or jobs he had at the time. He eventually shifted to freelance web development before landing a full-time job as a developer. He knows Erica from his office at that job, where he's been working for two years now. He sort of took the tiny woman under his wing when she arrived at his company. He calls her "Rica" for some reason. She invited him to the ball after he'd found the invitation mistakenly set on his desk, and he was intrigued. He saw no reason to refuse.

Other: Denn can hold his own in a fist fight or a knife fight.

Would a woman be able to wear a pant suit and tie to the event, or would that be too unconventional? If not, does "formal" mean dress, or suit/skirt (i.e. business attire)?
(I'm asking in advance because my character would be likely more savvy about this stuff than I am. But she'd wear the suit and tie if she could get away with it.)
I'm interested.
Stergann Scythe

"Oh, don't worry, I'm just here to see what all the commotion is about." Stergann reassured Lyra. "Maybe you could introduce me. I've met Del before, he's one of my students, but I'm not sure I know your other partner," Stergann said, wondering if the younger girl had even noticed she was there. She seemed awfully engrossed in her tackle-fest.

"I'm a little out of the loop sometimes, being a staff member instead of a normal student... But I'm guessing there are quite a lot of you going on missions today. Is that right, Del?", she asked, turning toward the boy. After all, she had come out of her room to find out what was happening. She figured Lyra wouldn't know any better than her, since she couldn't see any of the screens. When Lyra had first arrived, Stergann had personally made sure she would be informed of anything she need to know by telephone, but of course, they'd only tell her what was essential to Lyra's functioning as an agent. The administrative staff couldn't be bothered to repeat everything that was on the screens, and in any case that would have been a bit of an information overload for the poor girl.

Then something amusing occurred to her. She turned to Lyra with a hint of a grin on her face. "Would you like to see what those two look like, on the ground? I could show you." Stergann always preferred to ask before imposing her thoughts on others, although with Lyra it was just a formality at this point. Lyra was used to Stergann's thoughts mixing into hers, or however that worked. Stergann often wished she could experience what her power felt like to others; in fact, that was one of the reasons she wished she could their minds. But, no sense in yearning for the impossible. She could put these thoughts away for later, when she was daydreaming again.
Stergann Scythe

The young woman gazed out the window, chin resting on her palm. One corner of her mouth was lifted up into a smile, slightly dimpling her cheek. The room was small, but it contained everything a girl needed to thrive: a bookshelf crammed full of books, a neat desk, a small bed and closet, and a large window open to the smoggy sky of New York. She had been preparing for the next week's lessons, but her pen had slipped from her fingers and her mind was far away. In her dreams she never saw herself as a Star. Not that she minded having powers; her unconscious just didn't seem to have caught up to her reality yet. Daydreams, however, were under her control, and she often dreamed of what it would be like to be able to read a little from the minds she was putting her own thoughts into. Today her flights of fancy were unrelated to Stars and powers. She was imagining that she lived in the countryside, and had met a mysterious young girl who looked eerily similar to Stergann herself when she was about five years old. The two of them were walking through a gloomy forest in search of the wise old beetle-king who lived deep within it, in hopes that he could tell them who the young girl was, as she herself could not remember.

They had just crossed a charming little brook full of water-spirits when Stergann shook herself out of her reverie. She glanced down at her papers. She didn't need to finish them today; she'd just thought she could get a little bit ahead on her work. She tapped the sheets of paper into a nice, neat stack and stood up. She stretched and then stood there for a moment, her mind blank. She decided to see what the commotion was outside; the noises in the hallway were different from usual, so there were probably a lot of kids going out on missions. She closed her window. It was getting a little too hot to have it open anyway.

Stergann opened her door just in time to see Del whoosh by on his skateboard. Always in a hurry, that one. She stepped out and looked down the hallway. He'd stopped just down the hall, in front of the mess hall, and was talking with two other students, only one of whom she recognized. There was a staff member standing with them, but he didn't seem too friendly, so Stergann to go see if they needed anything. And she'd get to chat with Del, ask him about all the missions going on that day. Del was a regular in the cooking club, just because he was in the kitchen around the clock.

The girl Stergann didn't recognize tackled Del just as she walked up. Seemed friendly enough, but it occurred to her that the girl might be corrupted, since Stergann didn't know her, and there was that burly man standing nearby. She smiled at Lyra and greeted her -- she knew the girl wouldn't be able to see the smile, but maybe she'd hear it in her voice. She glanced back at Del. "You doing okay there? What's all the fuss today?"
The reason I haven't posted yet tonight is because I was playing Torchlight II all weekend I was making a spreadsheet of all the characters. Because I have a hard time keeping everyone straight, but one of my characters is a teacher, so I figure she's gotta know most of the kids at NI. Plus I wanted an overview of everyone to try and see where I can start her (any suggestions, GM?)

So I figured I might as well share the spreadsheet in case anyone wants it...
It's incomplete, and it only includes the starred people because reasons...? (shrug)
Original .ods file
.xls for people with real Excel, except it might not look as nice if weird stuff happened during the file conversion
(and by "nice" I mean there's a few lines and colors. I didn't spend time making this look pretty.)
P.S. the color-coding is for what mission people are currently on.

Edit: Oh look, yet another character to add :P
