I'm pleased to let all of you know that I'm back in civilization. Found a cargo shipment that left early.

If we were waiting, that'd be for Peik I think. And I don't know if Balen is important for our discussion, so I think you'd be free to reply @Kassarock.

Balen's too busy regretting all his life decisions thinking on what to expect inside. Feel free to ignore him for now, unless you've got questions specifically for him.
Sorry about my absence. Kind of stranded in Bumfuck Nowhere, Anatolia. Will be back in civilization in an estimate of 3 days.

This almost scared me for a minute there when I logged on today.

On the nature of collabs, I don’t like them. I prefer to post solo posts and work off others – I understand that’s not really popular but it’s also the way I’ve been RPing for a the greater part of nearly two decades. I had never run into the concept until I became a member of RPG. That said, I will have to figure out how Sjara is going to act in this campfire scene regardless if I get talked into a collaboration or not.

I understand your point. I myself think that collabs can kind of cut off the 'flow' of the writing, certain things repeat themselves as well since, obviously, it's being written by multiple people rather than just a person. But I also think it can create organic dialogue when done properly.

I don't know whether if solo posts aren't popular or not. I think that they are mostly the majority. I got used to collabs in another RP that I'm participating in because of the sheer amount of characters in any one given time - it helps streamline dialogue and action, and you can have multiple actions and reactions in one post be it combat or conversation, rather than having posts end with cliffhangers constantly.
Got a post up for Sevine, a bit smaller than usual, but hopefully a quality one. If there are things I need to change, let me know. I made sure both were wounded. Armiger 9 is wounded in the upper thigh, and Sevine has a cut to her knee.

Roger roger. I'm assuming you'll be trying to have him surrender from the way your post ended, but I feel that calling for the foe to surrender would be best done at the end of the bout, before the next one - which means after everyone has posted and before anyone makes new rolls. I say this mostly because I don't think anyone would surrender next to his friends in the heat of combat, but when the hacking has stopped and everyone has to gauge their chances as a group, it's more likely.

So let me put up some Rules For Enemy Surrender in this situation - I realize I have left it somewhat vague compared to combat.

Once the bout is over (i.e. everyone has made their posts), you can choose a spokesperson to try and coerce them. That person alone will be making the roll.

The spokesperson will roll 1d10 with the Speech skill and need to score 7 or above. Those without the skill will get -3 to their roll. Novice gets no bonus. Apprentice will get +1, Adept +2, Expert +3.

Should the roll get a failure (1-2) the spokesperson will be wounded by a projectile. A regular success (3-6) will have the spokesperson's suggestion rejected, and there will be formal restart of combat. Full success (7-10) will have the Armigers put down their arms peacefully.

The spokesperson will not be able to make any attack rolls in the bout, should the roll fail.

Those below (Sadri, Narzul) can also attempt a Speech roll, but their success or failure will be separate from the rest of the party and the Armigers.
I was thinking while we're waiting, why don't we kind of do one of those first impression/ opinion exercises that your character would have about the group? That or do some OOC prologue posts to establish our characters at some point so we get a feel for them and their previous adventures?

I believe you shall find time for that in your first posts. You folks will be starting off around a campfire. Collabs are also possible, and I myself would encourage small-talk.

I plucked those names straight from a list of Dunmer names. Turns out Bethesda had the munchies. ;D

And yessir, that works, too. You guys can stop yourselves from bleeding to death and dying of poison, but you certainly won't be up for a fight if Lettuce finds you.

I thought mister Tiger Blood kind of put the hurt into that dude too. So maybe something like old dudes fighting?

Oh, oh I have an idea.

How about we ambush Lettuce when he's coming back around? The hunter becomes the hunted.
Alright, @Peik, @MiddleEarthRoze, here's what you guys found! Come back and read this after you read the post.

lol

I mean shit's serious sure but

Marul means lettuce in turkish

Also, Marcel has potions of Restoration and Cure Poison on his person. Would those help Rhasha?

Great, now I can't help but imagine Donkey Kong Country happening entirely in Valenwood.

What do you think the Imga are for?

Ah ha! But Sjara is not culturally a Bosmer! She is culturally a Nord!

I was talking about race there - I doubt a 14 year old Breton has the same strength as a 14 year old Orc. Your genetics have quite a stake in shaping you in the world of Elder Scrolls.

I based this on my perspective that in most medieval-oriented fantasy / non-fantasy (and in part, some history) the age of adulthood was much sooner than it is in our contemporary cultures. I know you said it’s not really a critique but I feel like explaining that tidbit might be valuable. Thanks for your write-up, it is very valuable to me and I realize where I could've reinforced my descriptions better such as explaining the nord-elf aspect better. Thanks!

Oh yes, that much is true, but not every one of them had the conception of adulthood as living alone in the wilderness, either. Finding a job or getting married at that age is normal in the proper historical context, but more menial works (hunting, military) often took around during or after puberty. But as I said, I'm not sure how it'd apply to Bosmer, who are literally cannibal murder-elves, whom I imagine have apelike muscle density.
