Eh. I more had him walk away because I don't know how to roleplay the fight with the electric magic hitting the metal. It's just easier to have Felix not get involved. I never said his gut feeling of not being wanted was correct. XP

I'm not gonna lie, I am regretting a lot of things I did during his creation.

The Magnet Mage

Felix watched the transpiring events as he slowly released the random objects his shield had collected. By the time the boy had left, the iron sand was back in its containers. Felix looked grumpy. The guy just blows up an entire building and barely apologizes for it; doesn’t offer to help rebuild or pay or anything. He was honestly, vividly angry about how this kid was acting. And he was also frustrated by the fact that other than holding up a big piece of metal, he had basically been useless. Sure, some people were safe, but he was sure that many others had been hurt before he had been able to get the shield up.

As his attention was drawn to the fight happening not so far away, he clenched his fists, the metal now back in the containers he transported it in clinking against the side in a flurry. All he wanted in the world was to let loose on this God Slayer. To let fly a barrage of steel and rage that he was fairly certain would at least do something. But he had a gut feeling that he was not wanted in this fight. So, instead, his stomach growling a bit, He stalked back the way he came, heading back towards the pancake shop. He didn’t know if Fleo would follow, but he also wasn’t completely sure he wanted to eat with someone else anymore. Not that any of it was Fleo’s fault; his sour mood just might ruin the experience.

He popped the lid on one of the containers, letting a small amount of iron sand come out into his palm. As he walked, he focused on making shapes with it, creating a shifting, spherical spirograph. He tried to focus on his breathing and making the spirograph move, but there were odd jerks in the shape as it changed.

”Useless…”

Ok, while those points are valid, If all science is thrown out then there's no point in much of anything. I always interpreted magic as converting one type of energy into another, such as fire, lightning, water, etcetera. If I wanted to get technical about it, he's transforming his energy into a magnetic field in order to magnetize himself.

I'm just saying if science doesn't apply Felix could punch a hole through someone's chest with minimal effort, as the science behind physics wouldn't bother him. It has to apply or else nothing matters.

Again, my opinion. I'm not GM. I'm not trying to argue. If I'm told Felix is weak to lightning and can't magnetize his body anymore, that's fine. I'll even bump his magic level down if I'm told. I was just stating my opinion.
I think that works so well with your avatar

Why thank you. =D Raichu is just the best, in my opinion.

Felix is actually at a disadvantage. Just because you're made of metal doesn't make you immune. Plus all the less controlled lightning attacks, such as the Artillery, would hit him and he'd be down in about two of those.

Felix isn't quite made of metal, he can just magnetize his body. I just had the thought recntly that he should be able to create "lignting rods" of sorts to ground out some of the attacks, or draw them to specific areas. Not making him immune in any sense, but giving him at least an edge defensively. He wouldn't be able to be offensive while holding that type of guard up (it would take too much concentration to adjust for the varying patterns of attack) and anything that heated the metal to a certain point would knock his magnetism right off of it, but it was a thought.

I know when I applied electricity was a bit of an iffy point with Felix, as by science he should have an advantage but in a roleplay point it can be a bit broken to have that much of an advantage against a specific element without being a slayer of one type or another. I can roleplay it however it needs to be done, don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to argue. Just talking. A lot. 'Cause I'm a bit hyperactive.

Sidenote, I have an idea for a powerful villain that I want to cause havok and then die/be locked away. Any plot arcs being planned that need a villain or a powerful villain underling?
Gah. I wanna get in on that god slayer fight. Felix is READY for a fight with a lightning-user! HE IS COVERED IN CONDUCTORS.

Maybe that's why he should stay busy. Unfair advantage and whatnot...

SPIN THE WHEEL OF FATE.

I may or may not be bored at work and have drank an entire 20oz Red Bull in a very short amount of time. *vibrates*
What if we were to say that the pancake house was right beside the tavern? Wouldn't that be fun for Fleo and Felix, especially since they don't know the full situation?

I didn't end up seeing this til after the post, but I kinda went in that direction. The whole "HOLY CRAP BIG BOOM" thing. If the pancake house had been destroyed I think Felix would have wailed in misery. Pancakes sound so good to me so they are what he is craving, too.

Also figured about the whole Crash Mage being a good guy. Felix just doesn't know that yet. Depending on how the kid reacts is how Felix will try and handle the situation.

Felix laughed heartily as Fleo inched closer. She was making him work, and he felt that, just as they had discussed before, they were doing the same thing in different ways. It was definitely exhilarating to be racing like this, a friendly challenge between guildmates. And it was a great way to increase their appetites! They’d be ready for a buffet of pancakes when they got there! They were close enough that Felix thought he could spot a sign for the pancake shop, not relying on Fleo’s movements to tell him when to turn.

That’s when he heard the explosion.

He felt the rumble even though he wasn’t actually touching the ground. He stopped almost immediately and quickly spun towards the fallen building. ”Fleo! Did you hear that?! We have to go help!” He looked for her reaction for a moment, then sped forward, launching himself to a nearby rooftop so he could bypass street traffic. Being this far from the ores in the ground, he couldn’t levitate as well so he simply released some iron sand from his containers, creating a small platform beneath his feet so he could magnetically jump from one roof to the next. Normally, this would be incredibly fun, but all Felix could think was that he wasn’t moving fast enough.

As he jumped he pulled more iron sand out of his containers, coating his hands and arms in metal and shaping a short blade in his right hand. He kept a ball of condensed granules in his left in case the situation didn’t actually require combat. His gut told me magic was behind this, but he supposed it could have really been anything.

By the time Felix got to the scene, the building was still collapsing on itself, throwing debris into the crowd of people who had obviously left the tavern in the chaos. Many were running, but the rest definitely couldn’t get out of the way in time. Felix focused for a moment and then launched himself harder than normal into the crowd, thankfully missing everyone, and threw up his hands. ”Magnetic Iron Shield!”

All of the iron he had on him collected into a dome above him and as much of the crowd as he could cover. He even pulled up other small pieces of metal that were nearby and attached them to the shield, making the edges of the construct look like an amalgamation of kitchen utensils and small pieces of jewelry. Any metal from the falling building, however, would be repelled as it hit the charge of the shield. The wood and stone, however, would hit the shield and bounce off.

The dome rang like a bell as more and more debris crashed off of it., and he stretched the dome so it covered the entrance to an alleyway behind him. ”Run! That way!” He was still fairly certain that there was someone behind the destruction and he wanted to be ready to face them if necessary. He couldn’t protect himself and hold up a shield this big. There wasn’t enough metal around for him to manipulate into a serviceable weapon.

He saw Amaya in the crowd and nodded to her, trying to get her attention. "Did you see who did this?

Felix smiled as Fleo approached. "Blasphemy! We must burn the heretic!" He made a show of holding an invisible torch and pitchfork. "Magic cannot be tolerated in this land!" He made an angry face, then burst into a laugh when he couldn't hold it.

When asked about breakfast, his stomach answered for him, growling loudly. "I had just been thinking about heading out and getting something. Pancakes sound aweome." He grinned broadly and stood. "Race you there?" And, with that, he blurred right out the front door.

Of course, the flaw was he wasn't exactly sure where he was going, but he was sure he'd see Fleo in a moment or two and she'd show him where to go.

Felix loved how he had learned how to move at ridiculous speed with his magnet magic. He didn't even have to physically wear himself down. He simply levitated himself from the ground with magnetim and then used the same force to propell him forward. It was near frictionless, and if he put a lot of energy to it, he could move faster than a lot of people could react. Of course this was only his movement across the ground that was sped up this way, but it still makes for an interesting trick to pull in a fight. He wasn't hiding it, but no one had really seen him do it all that much. It was sure to be a urprise to Fleo.
I think I made Felix too young. D=

Anyone have ome sort of horrible time-travel accident planned? That would be ridiculously convenient.
He lives! Now to find that pair of @Feisty-Pants that's hiding around here...

I do live! But only barely. Things are hectic in the outside world and I am adjusting to a new schedule/job on top of that.

I thought there were still job requests around or did something happen that is preventing characters from taking jobs? They can usually be found on the first post of the OOC.

I thought Master Jamie said no jobs, so that's why Felix isn't taking them until he's explicitly told it's fine. I mean I read where it was kinda said Jamie was thinking about lifting the ban, but nowhere where it was said that the ban was lifted.
