Week the only way he uses it is as a shield, to mimic super strength and such, and to attempt flight which he hasn't perfected. What are the concerns about similarities?

Other options would be solid light projection, think green Lantern minus the ring and not as powerful. Limitations would be added.

What about pocket dimensions? He can create doorways to pocket dimensions. So he could theoretically have a shot gun in his pants pocket. As long as he has a frame to work with he can access the space. So a doorway, the opening of a backpack, etc. I could give you a list of items he has and how he acquired them and track what he uses. Also could add to it as we go in story.
Revised CS

Alias: Lumens
Name: Sean Henry

Age: 32

Gender: Male

Equipment: Harley Davidson motorcycle, zippo lighter, cigarettes. Usually carries a flask of something alcoholic on him as well most of the time.

Skills: Mechanic and metal fabricator. Builds custom cars and motorcycles and is a fair hand at some electrical work but by no means is he an electrician or electrical engineer.

Powers: >hard light projection
>Capabilities

Can project light to create solid constructs of whatever he imagines. The more complex the construct the more power and focus is required. Can also surround himself in a protective aura of light but it isn't the best shielding ever. He has also been able to use the aura to fly by focusing on the idea of it lifting him into the air. He isn't incredibly fast though and it requires so much focus at present that he can't create any of his constructs and fly at the same time.

Weaknesses: His shielding, while imperfect, also has another weakness. It only works when he's focusing on it. So a sneak attack or one that happens faster than he can react will hit him full on. He is no stronger than any regular human of his physical condition. His powers don't afford him any physical enhancements. He's also useless at stealth. The use of his powers means he can be seen from quite a distance away.

Biography: Sean grew up in Southern California, obsessed with motorcycles and motorcycle culture. After graduating from high school he went to a trade school for motorcycle mechanics and while there fell in with a motorcycle club. It took him two years to patch in as a member and when he did he eventually moved up to sergeant at arms within his first year as a patched member.

The club was violent. Dangerous. And he loved it. Eventually, the clubs president and vice president were arrested in possession of cocaine and he decided that he needed to get out of the life before it destroyed him.

He got out by agreeing to let the club use his motorcycle shop as a meeting place for some of their more sensitive situations.

When the blasts hit he was in the middle of attaching the connections for a custom bike with more than a hundred feet of multi-colored LEDs wired through it. The blast of light tore through his body and tossed him through the wall of his shop. When he woke up he thought he was losing his mind when every random image he pictured suddenly appeared in front of him.

It took him a while to learn to control his new abilities, all the while the world was taking the freight elevator straight to he'll around him. Once he finally had a halfway decent handle on his abilities he went about his business, using his powers to assist him in keeping his own head above water and to occasionally help someone in need. He's been moving from place to place at random ever since.

Notes:[Any else that needs to be mentioned]
Here's the OOC. go check it or and let's start creating those characters. :)

March 30, 2032

The Fivers took over the gaming world in the year 2025. Fully Immersive Virtual Reality, referred to as the Fiver system by the general public. The FIVR gaming system, created by Yxel Entertainment Systems, allowed for a virtual reality environment that made the player feel as if they were truly living inside the game. Sight, touch, sound, smell, and even taste.

Games began to come out of the wood work using the FIVR system, but none of them really took full advantage of the programs capabilities. Until two years after the initial launch of the FIVR System.

Yxel Entertainment Consoles and Firewind. The first of their kind. A game system with such powerful servers behind it that players reported feeling like they were really in the game, like the game itself was real. More realistic, to some, than the real world. And a Game that truly utilized the capabilities of the FIVR system.

The Fifth anniversary of Firewind is rapidly approaching and it stands, at this time, as the largest MMORPG ever created with millions of players logging in from around the world on a daily basis. The games 10,000 servers are expected to be running at capacity this April first for the Fifth Anniversary Celebration planned by Yxel Entertainment.

So. You’ve all won a free Yxel Entertainment Systems FIVR Console and hardware, including a copy of the Firewind video game. Firewind is an open Sandbox type of fantasy RPG. There isn’t a specific plot or story to follow, but the world of Firewind does have its own rich history and there are storied quests and events that tend to pop up at various times throughout the months and years. With the Fifth Anniversary Patch a couple of new classes are going to be added to the game, as well as the introduction of simple Firearms, mainly pistols.

There is no Magic in Firewind, for simplicities sake players have Weapon Skills that can be activated using Skill Points. Skill points regenerate over time but can also be replaced with potions. Firewind, also has no level cap, but still the ten highest level characters in the game are in the mid 70’s after five years of playing. Leveling up once you get past level ten get’s harder and harder, it takes a lot more to increase levels as you go along but the benefits can be worth it.

Long run, Firewind is designed to force players to make friends and work together. No one can get past level 10 and into the deeper areas of Firewind working solo. Parties and Guilds are a requirement to advance in the world.

As of March 30, 2032, in the Five years that Firewind has been operating less than 25% of the world has been mapped by players. That’s how large the world within the game really is and how much there is to do within it. Some people have even married other players they’ve met within the game. They own shops, smithy’s, Taverns, and Inns. People have built there own lives within the gaming world and for many it’s as fulfilling or even more so than the real world.

Fiver’s are a new breed of gamer, with a better understanding of game mechanics and combat tactics than past generations needed for their games. So Let’s get into those mechanics a bit now.

Each player in Firewind has to decide on a few things when they create their initial character.

1. Is the character going to look like you do in the real world or are you going to create a false avatar? Many people have taken to using their real appearances in games, it’s becoming the norm for gamers to present themselves honestly. Some still like their anonymity though, and that’s alright.

2. You will have to decide on your class which will have a few basics, Fighter, Rogue, Paladin or Knight, that kinda thing. But I’m going to throw a couple of different classes in there in the initial post just to have a little fun.

3. Allocation of stats. Again, for the purpose of the RP we’re not going to worry too much about that but I just want you guys to know what the stats are and what they affect for the character so in discussion you can apply the terminology.

Stats are laid out thusly:

Strength- STR
Vitality- VIT
Agility- AGI
Dexterity- DEX
Intelligence- INT
Charisma- CHA

STR- Governs how much damage a player does with Melee weapons or in unarmed combat. Also affects the weight the player may lift and carry, as well as contributing toward their defense status.

VIT- Measures how many Hit Points the player has. When HP reaches zero, the player dies.

AGI- Directly correlates to a players movement and attack speed. The higher the agility, the more attacks a player can launch at an opponent in combat.

DEX- Governs the odds of a player landing a strike against an opponent, as well as the players ability to evade blows. DEX also governs the amount of damage a player can do with a ranged weapon.

INT- Governs the effectiveness of recovery items and special artifacts, as well as job skills such as blacksmithing, artificing, etc.

CHA- Governs a players ability to coerce NPCs. Higher CHA also means better discounts at NPC run shops. Has no bearing on interaction with other Players however.

Now those of you that haven’t gone crosseyed reading all that, here’s your character sheet skeleton.

CS

Name:
Player name: (used in game if you don’t play using your real name)
Age: (physical strength in the real world means nothing in Firewind. A ten year old girl could have a STR stat to go toe-to-toe with a 30 year old body builder in hand to hand combat, but age can impact maturity level and behavior so keep that in mind.)
Gender:
Description: (a paragraph or a picture, possibly both if you’re so inclined)
Bio: (brief history, but a lot of that can come out in game, so don’t worry TOO much about it)
Class: (so you’re making two characters. For your newbie character don’t worry about this yet, but for your experienced character pick a class you want them to be.)
Weapons: Here you’ll include the weapons and Armor for your experienced character. Don’t have to be too detailed about it because you will get the opportunity to acquire different weapons and armor as the game progresses.)

So make up your two characters, and we’ll get this party started. Remember your newbie character will be winning a console and al the hardware in the first couple of posts. Once we get everyone in game the shit will hit the fan and off we’ll go from there. As the game progresses, I intend to throw in a few surprises, now and then. Little things that might throw you guys off a little so please try to pay attention to my posts for any hidden meanings. Not every post is going to have them, but there will be instances of something going on that I’m not going to come right out and explain, you’ll need to catch those details on your own.

I’m sure there’s more information that I can give you guys but for right now what else I can say escapes me, so any questions you may have would be greatly appreciated. That’ll help me fill in the gaps to get you guys what you need to hit the ground running.

If everyone is still interested we've got six players, seven counting me so that's a good team.

@AirBender@Mad Scarlet@Kei@Shikaru@akirashadow@Cultural Titan

Thanks for reading gang, and let’s go to it. :)
@akirashadow there is room. I'll be getting the OOC up later today with some more detail and information on classes and such as well as the Character Sheet skeleton.

Where not going to have Hard rules like D&D or something on strength and speed and such but I will briefly outline the games mechanics for such things just so you guys have an idea. We'll be running on an honor system for not making ridiculously powered characters and just having a fun game. :)
Sorry guys, started a new job and ending up working 16 hours yesterday. I'll be getting on that cs.
I worked a 16 hour shift yesterday @Zelosse I feel your pain. I just kept reminding myself overtime pay, overtime pay, overtime pay.
Sorry gang, yesterday turned into a 16 hour shift at work. Wasn't expecting that.

Anyway we've got some interest going so awesome. I start working on an OOC try to get some info up there for you all to chew over.

I've got like 60 college students making a film at my post today so that's going to be interesting at the least.
That would totally be possible. I'll PM tou a suggestion for that.
Cool deal. Little interest at least. We can run with a smaller team too, doesn't have to be five or six that's just the maximum.

While we're waiting for more got any questions?
