Yeah, I took a class on it in Uni. It's fantastic. I can't draw straight lines or circles so if I need a building or something I can have a decent 3D render in like 15-20 minutes.
Every time I download it I have to organize my toolbar in a very specific way, though. I think it's a matter of preference.
@PrinceAlexus I guess this goes under Misc, but you have a doctor and a fire rescue player so maybe you need an Emergency Services category. Anyway,
Founded 53 years ago, the SoL City Volunteer Rescue Squad is the active emergency response source for 911 calls. EMTs and paramedics are on call 24 hours a day, working in shifts from 8 to 12 hours. They respond immediately to highway, residential, industrial, and water emergencies with two ambulances and a rescue boat, towed by truck and trailer to the marina. They work in tandem with the local hospital, fire house, and Sol City police force to make sure situations are dealt with as quickly and safely as possible. The brave men and women that serve are trained in First Aid and CRP, and have EMT certification. Housing and amenities (washing machines, a kitchen, bathrooms, changing rooms, and a rec area) are provided for volunteers who want to stay for prolonged periods of time. Some even choose to live in the building in exchange for weekend shifts. From Officers and Technicians to Paramedics and EMTs, the SCVRS is the backbone of emergency search, rescue, and transportation of Sol City. They're just a phone call away.
@PrinceAlexus@Pilatus Hey look I made a SCVRS building in SketchUp.
@PrinceAlexus Volunteer Rescue Squads have water rescue boats. They look like this:
Well, my dad has been on a Volunteer Rescue Squad for 30-odd years. I already know what a VRS building looks like, how it's organized, what the gear looks like, standard protocols, etc. so I would be able to RP that a bit more accurately that the Coast Guard, which doesn't seem like it'd be too relevant in a major metropolitan city.
Other ideas, though?
@PrinceAlexus Well that would depend on who in the Char tab is inactive or has left. I wouldn't know and don't particularly want to go through 83 pages to see what people have said.
@Pilatus I was thinking an off-duty soldier, paramedic, or police officer. Seems like we already have two police force players and a soldier and at least one doctor in training, so I'm not sure where to go. Which is why I'd like to know if there are any roles that you or someone else would like to see that don't exist yet.
@PrinceAlexus I don't want to take over a character. I (may) want to have the Occupation that the character had.
@Pilatus@PrinceAlexus So, let me be clear, the time skip has happened? With the site having issues these past few days, I just wanted to be sure where we were before I started to work on a post.
Keeping an eye on this RP still. Bit dry on actual ideas, though. The character ideas I had have been taken already and I dislike making duplicates. So,
1. Are there any people in the [Char] tab who are no longer active or have dropped out so I can consider taking up that role, and
2. Are there any unfilled roles that people here would like to see?
