Morning: @Jinxer Training field: @FrostedCaramel

---

Lauren had found Mora still sprawled out on the training field, her slightly hungover attention had startled Mora out of her slumber as the girl slathered her balm over her neck. "Thank you." she had told Law, thankful that speaking offered only a mild discomfort. Now Mora was only besotted by the ache that throbbed through her stiffened limbs. While sleeping under the stars had given calm to her heart the ground was a little more unforgiving. Law had left, seemingly to check on other patients before the grueling day and leaving Mora behind to dust herself off. Today was the start of training. Something already felt different about that day- like the air held a threat of a promise of what was to come.

Breakfast was fast, the same unappetizing dish as the night before. Still she managed to choke down what was given, change into a fresh uniform and even perform on some small miracle that her hair seemed to be behaving. The sense of soreness still lingered even as she lined up for their ODM gear test run. Mora felt her nerves spark to life with excitement as she watched her fellow cadets go before her. They showed promise, well most of them. She felt prepared, after watching each person hosted themselves up. As they buckled her in Mora flashed everyone a cheeky girl before she felt herself start to rise off the ground. 'Whoa.' the thought flew across her mind as she suddenly found herself fighting to stay upright. This was way harder than she anticipated. Mora no longer looked out at the crowd, instead she looked down at her own wobbling body with a furrowed brow.

That's when the whole world around flipped. Literally Mora wasn't able to stabilize herself any longer and suddenly, the redheaded cadet found herself dangling upside down in front of everyone. A few cadets chuckled out loud as she tried to right herself. If only the ground would open up and swallow her whole right then and there, but alas there was no mercy as she was brought back down and helped to her feet. Irritated, sore and embarrassed she turned to sulking in the back until they moved on from ODM practice.

"Finally." she grumbled as they started pairing off the cadets. Mora had been bouncing on the balls of her feet in anticipation, her anger simmered right beneath the surface as she eat he's Shultz give his final instructions on how to take down an opponent.

Turning to Emil she offered a smile, not that the rest of her face was forgiving. She could still feel the flush from her earlier failure. Mora would not allow herself to fail here too. Emil was slightly smaller than her, but lanky. He didn't seem like he had any muscle to him where Mora was built from years of hard work. "Forgive me for this." she whispered in her head as she took a be six fighting stance. Mora didn't wait for Emil to speak before she rushed at him, her fist balled tight as she first thought to to deliver a solid blow but at the last moment she shifted her weight and dropped low. Sweeping her leg out in hopes of catching him off guard.
@LetMeDoStuff Hope you get to feeling better soon, dude. I'm sorry.
@QT All good here.

Mora watched as Grant overlooked her poor attempt at a conversation, even Lauren couldn't seem to find her way back to her previous lighthearted mood. Sighing she visibly shrunk in her chair, trying to make herself look as small as she felt at the moment. Lauren had already taken off to their cabin and everyone else seemed to happily chat with one another. She suddenly felt as if there was a thin piece of glass between her and the rest of the cadets. Suddenly she was much more aware of herself; the way she sat, the red marks on her neck, her unruly red hair that stuck out like a sore thumb. Mentally she began to pick at herself before her body stiffened with anger.

'Enough.' she quieted her inner doubts and brought the now cold dish to her lips. Chugging it down she let the horrid arrangement of ingredients distract her. By time she looked backed up and around, Jade, was no longer to be found. "Great." she whispered. She was mad at herself, angry at the fact that she couldn't bring her friend back to smiling. That she resorted to picking apart herself. Angry that she let a simple brush off bother her. 'He probably didn't even hear you.' her thoughts whispered, trying to coax Mora out of the bad mood she created but that wasn't all. Mora was just; angry. She was powerless as a child. Powerless back when her family needed her the most and despite her training everyday- Shultz still picked her up and shook her like a rag doll. Mora had promised to herself that she'd never feel weak again but the ever growing sting that rose in her throat reminded her that she was not above destruction.

Tearing away from the table with a huff she stormed quietly from the mess hall. She was tired, physically, but her mind wouldn't rest. Even as she strode out into the cool evening air she was bombarded with scattered thoughts and memories. "Keep it together, Re." she hissed to herself.

"Ra-Ra."

The voice echoed in the back of her mind causing her steps to falter. "Dad." her voice was choked with emotion. Tears burned in her eyes. 'No.' she cried back. She didn't want to remember her fathers voice. His warmth. His love. She wanted to lay down. Mora wanted to rest. Instead she took off towards the training fields. Mora was never a great runner but she was decent, she could out race most average people plus it helped her clear her thoughts. So that's what she was going to do, she was going to run. Run as far and as hard as her weary legs would take her.

Tears flowed feely, Mora didn't care by this point, no one would see her as she charged down in the direction Schultz had sent the other two cadets. She ran until her legs burned and sweat rolled down and matted her hair to her face. Mora kept going until her boot caught on her other foot, sprawling her down onto the earth with a loud thud. Rolling over she looked up into the star laden sky above her. "I'm sorry." she whispered to the heavens, closing her eyes as the world around her began to warp through her tears. Mora didn't bother trying to get up. She didn't care if Schultz found her out there in the morning. All she wanted to do was rest.

Mora audibly gagged as Lauren stepped up to her threat and shoveled more of the stew into her mouth. Quickly she snatched the spoon back from her friend with a scowl, "Horrendous." she huffed before setting her own pace on chocking down the stuff. Meanwhile Jade set herself on talking to the cadets around them, getting her feathers particularly ruffled when Reese commented on Sano's odd character.

"She's right you know." Mora tacked on as she poked at whatever mystery vegetable floated around in her soup. Looking back at Lauren she noted the smile didn't quite reach the girl's eyes. With that Mora openly wore a frown on her face, "Can't say I knew the boy but," she lifted her head to look over at Reese, "Like a lot of us here he's probably just managing the beat be can. Like us. We're all just, managing."

The foulness that sat on her tongue no longer came from the cooks poor attempt at a meal but from her own bitterness. She pushed away the dish once more, this time not in disgust. With the way Lauren looked she doubted the girl would fuss st her too much. After all she did manage to take in at least half of what was given to her.

Meanwhile the boy who had showed up late had spoken up, just a brief summary of who he was and what brought him here. "Well, we welcome you Grant. I'm Mora, or better known as Hero." she remarked with as much chipperness as she could muster as she picked up her bowl and offered it to the boy. "Please, you're more than welcome to the rest of mine. Plus, if you don't eat Miss. Medic over here will shove it down your gullet anyhow." she teased trying to bring back Lauren's good nature.

"Law," Mora groaned, "Be nice." the girl teased before gulping the water greedily. Mora scrunched her nose as the foul taste persisted to linger even after several mouth fulls. "Bastards." she remarked to Olivia who struggled against the broth herself. Around her the cadets seemed to fill in the empty spaces, even the boy from before,Connor, had settled in while offering an excuse to Sano but before Mora could voice her opinion Jade spoke up. Mora looked up at Lauren as they paused to share a moment of pure amusement before turning her emerald gaze towards Jade, who was hastily eating bites of bread.

"Well. Well. Well." she whispered playfully as she waggled her brows once more at the girl. "Look what you did. You scared him off. Mora commented to the table. Thanks to Lauren's earlier aid Mora was able to speak softly with little discomfort. Which would seem to be handy as Olivia had started to call over another cadet who had arrived. Looking over she offered her warmest smile before settling back in her chair. Above her Lauren issued a threat, well she wouldn't quite call it a threat. More like a challenge as the girl pulled back the horrid stew and urged her to eat.

"Lauren..." she muttered before tilting her head back and locking eyes with her friend. She shot the girl an impish smile and opened her mouth as if she expected her to hand feed her. Her eyes sparkled with mischief as she waited to see if Lauren would live up to her threats.
@LetMeDoStuff I'm up at random times because of kids and whatnot. So I might catch you here and there.

A million words bubbled and died on her tongue as everyone around her chatted. Mora was not one to sit by in idle silence but for now, and with much thanks to Lauren, silence was the only thing that didn't bring her near to tears from pain. Instead, she took everyone in. Noting how much they all had grown in two years. Sure, there was lighthearted play at hand but she noticed something she normally wouldn't had she the ability to socialize freely. There was taunt lines that pulled at the cadets eyes. Weariness and hunger that caused their bodies to droop just a little bit more than normal. She shifted her gaze to the table, 'Have I changed too?' her thoughts swirled. Threatening her with the questions she didn't want to ask. She didn't want to know. What life would be like. How many wrinkles would of been added to her father's Sun worn face.

Luckily she wasn't left with her thoughts for long as a familiar voice interrupted her. Mora blinked as she watched Sano take up the spot next to her, his odd mannerisms coming to play as he set out to apologize. 'Just be thankful, buddy, that it hurts to talk.' she thought at him but let a small smile grace her lips. She didn't hold it against him. The boys shouldn't have been in the cabin and he was simply doing his duty.

It was what happened next that made her body shake as she fought back laughter. She watched the boy's face contort as he gasped out after a bite of whatever was before them and he wasn't alone. Reese sat not to far from them, she watched with amusement as he shoveled the dish in all the while looking like he was starting to sweat any moment.

Mora looked at her own bowl and then around her. "Law, Jade, if I die. Remember me fondly." She croaked before taking a brave bite.

There was a myriad of sensations that overwhelmed her. First, the warmth from the broth felt nice but that was short lived as the foul concoction only decided to grow in her mouth. She gagged and tried to stifle a cough. "Mistake." she squeaked. Even talking didn't hurt as bad as offensive onslaught of spices that simmered. She should've taken the hint from Sano but no. With both hands she shoved the offending dish away from her and laid her head down on the table. "Law....we need water."
@LetMeDoStuff Not too much has happened. Everyone seems to be heading to 5th e mess hall, so lots of interaction potential.

There was nothing to prepare Nora for the soft male voice that called our behind them. In fact she had to snuff out a small startled cry as he called out them. She shot the boy a scathing look before recognizing him from earlier that day, Shultz had made the poor guy run just as far and as hard as the boy she had just dragged in. Sighing audibly Mora has started to get up to go fetch Emil some water when a few knocks on the door halted her.

Jade, without fail, went to answer as Sano stepped inside. Her brows shot up as her gaze flickered from Jade's heated face and back. Just she wait until her throat was healed- Jade was in for a least a weeks worth of teasing. Mora settled back down as she eyed the boys quietly. Normally she would of put up a fuss about the two boys needing medical attention but even Lauren didn't seem to be willing to take she's voice at the moment. Instead, she sat and sighed as it was the least painful method of conveying her annoyance.

As the boy stumbled out and no doubt headed towards their own cabins, Jade suggested that they finally head towards the mess hall when a small girl burst over the threshold.

Mora couldn't quite place her, though she looked familiar and her cheery disposition threw Mora off balance. She could feel her face harden as the causally mentioned home but quickly dropped her gaze away from the girl. She didn't want to start off on the wrong foot, not with them all being stuck with each other for awhile at least. Thank the heaven for Lauren though, who see me to pick up on Mora's body language and quickly rushed through introductions. She made a mental note to thank her once she was better as the girl more or less guided the trio out of their room, inviting the new girl to join them.

Food sounded heavenly. The out other stomach roared in anger as the days hardship had set in and she realized she was running in empty. As they picked their way to the mess hall she obediently followed Lauren's suggestion for a more secluded area. 'Lets just hope they have some soup.' Her thoughts voiced with a thread of weariness. She'd not sleep well tonight if she was forced to go to bed hungry.
