Iraleth Kyrios

The decision to make the oath hadn't been easy. Iraleth was naturally suspicious of Otis already, and whatever he was up to now wasn't helping. Still, she had every intention of keeping her promise. After all, if she didn't like what she saw, Otis's oath had no injunction against Iraleth taking action herself.

All she saw, however, only served to raise more questions than answer her suspicions. What had all of that been about? What was Goetia? And furthermore, why her? This wasn't the place to ask, though. Inquiring now was dangerously close to violating the oath, given the amount of people around to overhear. Furthermore, no reasonable person would bother speaking of the matter in public anyway.

Instead, Iraleth simply gave Otis the stink eye as she followed him out of line without him so much as acquiring the coffee he'd promised. If he was going to be like that, she saw little need to answer his question. And besides, explaining the situation with Ciara sounded like a terrible idea. The duel shouldn't even be happening, much less turn into a public spectacle. The less who knew, the better. As the Strigdae sat, Iraleth caught Ciara's eye.

"Do as you will." She said flatly, turning to leave. "There wasn't much remaining yesterday worth speaking of. I'll see you in class."

Renar Hagen

This situation with their newest tagalong was rapidly devolving into a comedy. Or at least, it would be if Renar couldn't see where this was going. While he'd prefer that Fanilly have handled the situation more firmly, at the end of the day, it didn't matter all too much. That said, it'd be best if someone impressed certain information upon the girl before she did something particularly stupid. Sun and Moon, not even Serenity was this willfully obstinate regarding the captain.

"Let me handle this." Renar murmured aside to Fionn, giving his friend a firm pat on the shoulder before striding up on towards Gertrude.

"Gertrude, was it? Walk with me for a moment." He leaned in closely, speaking quietly so that the others couldn't overhear.

"Frankly, you should be grateful that the Knight-Captain is as...lenient as she is. Were some other people in her position," No points for guessing what other alternative there would be. "They wouldn't have quite tolerated such disrespect so nearly as well. So thank the goddesses that Captain Fanilly is a decent sort. Now, I'd invite you to think very carefully as to the opportunity you have here. Association with the Iron Rose conveys many benefits, both direct and indirect. If the Knight-Witch sent you to aid us, you may as well have carte blanche to join the order. After all, you have to be useful in some capacity. Now, ask yourself if you truly want to offend the person who has final say on whether you get a generous stipend, fine quarters, and finer food." His smile didn't quite meet his eyes.

"Moreover, even should you continue on with us with your attitude, ask yourself if any of the rest of us will be willing to tolerate it overmuch once we're out of a situation where death isn't final." Renar backed away, his smile more threatening than comforting. "Food for thought, as it were."

"You...honor me with this." Iraleth barely managed to avoid grinding her teeth in irritation. Astra above, please let this be the end of it. As it stood, not even the spectacle of the bucket boy breakdancing particularly impressed her through the annoyance she was feeling. All she had wanted was to get breakfast and leave for class, not be accosted by a mummer's spectacle!

Otis's invitation caught her attention, and she glanced over to the Strigdae with a raised eyebrow. "Especially" her? His scheming yesterday already had her on guard enough to not trust that he didn't have some sort of ulterior motive behind this. Davil's intentions in comparison were refreshingly obvious, if eyeroll-inducing. Small wonder Clara completely ignored him. Or perhaps she didn't exactly understand what a blushing teenage boy was thinking, especially without using his brain. Regardless, Clara could handle herself. Not that she would listen to Iraleth at this point, anyway.

"You realize we do have class soon, yes? I'd prefer to not be late on our first day. Or at all, preferably." She took another bite of her bread roll, chewing and swallowing while waiting for Clara to finish with Otis. Once she did, Iraleth continued. "If you insist, only if they have takeaway cups."

Shinozaki Yurie

Alright, so she wasn't the only one taken completely off-guard by whatever the fuck was going on. That was somewhat comforting. Most of the people around her sounded North American based on the accent, with one other Japanese girl by the sound of it. Thank god she was bilingual.

"♫~Love is like a gummy bear, a yummy yummy gummy bear~♫"

Motherfucker who was playing that stupid Cameron Mason song-

Yurie swung her gaze around and did a double take. She was stuck in a room with Cameron Mason. Oh, no, no, no, no, no. She'd heard enough of his saccharine pop crap when he started getting big during her last year or two in America, and it'd started spreading to Japan too. Why the hell was he here?! Why couldn't it have been an EDM artist?

"Wait, is that Cameron Mason? Hot balls, it really is him!"

Even worse, she was stuck in a room with Famerons.

Screw what the angels were saying about heaven, this was hell. And speaking of, the fact that they were apparently able to manipulate binary of all things piqued Yurie's attention. The hacker part of her brain latched onto that, and she paid special attention to the fact that whatever it was doing suddenly killed the language barrier, apparently. Not that it would have mattered for most of them.

"That's like the least helpful explanation I've ever heard." Yurie nodded in agreement with the blonde girl, folding her arms under her chest as she glowered up at the apparent angels. Then something in her brain clicked as she recalled the details of the email. Dragged into what seemed to be another world. Ostensibly to save it. And they were in some kind of heaven right now.

Isekai was real. The only thing they were missing was the truck. Wow, she couldn't hate her life any more at the moment if she tried. Yurie took a deep breath. Then another. Fuck.

"Alright, skipping past the part where we all clearly deserve this for clicking on a spam email, if that's how you got everyone else," She glanced around briefly for confirmation. No point in complaining about her own actions in getting this far. Even with all her safety precautions, Yurie had sort of deserved this for even bothering to click on an obvious spam link purely for shits and giggles. She could admit that much. "Whatever you want to make us do for you, are you even going to pretend we can say no? Also, much as I don't want to know, what do you want from us?"
Salvator Rasch

Out of the fire, back into the void-damned frying pan, it seemed. He'd definitely need to check back in with the other squad once they were done here, because their timetable had been delayed heavily by all of this. Still, at least the gunship finally wasn't a problem anymore. If they'd had to deal with the power armor, the gunship, and the vrexul platforms all at once, the Envenomed squad likely would've been mulch by now. Thank Christ-in-the-void for shoddy reinforcement speed on the enemy's part.

On instinct, Salvator dove for cover as soon as the railgun fired, having saw rounds flying his way. The moment he was safely behind a fallen tree, the voidhanger ripped a canister of biofoam from his tactical belt and tossed it underhand towards the soldier missing an arm. He had enough to spare, and it didn't hurt to keep another warm body in the fight as long as possible.

"Keep me covered!" He yelled, pointing towards the accompanying soldiers. "I've got the walker!" He slung his appropriated shotgun back onto a spare mag-clamp and drew both his knife and a frag, one in each hand. A twitch of his armor activated his active camo cloak, and he peeked up just enough behind cover to draw an accurate sight line on the automata. One blink later, he was atop its back, aiming to carve enough of a hole into where the plating was thinnest so that he could prime his frag, stick it into the gap, and blink back to cover.
