The pic I linked is not too far from what I'll want in the end: black and gold armor with a late-
Transitional style, meaning chains and brigandine under a layer of plate. On top, some sort of tabard or surcoat for displaying his heraldry. (I'd give you a rough mock-up of his house's escutcheon: red, white, and green being the dominant colors. But I'm definitely not a visual artist, as you will see lmao.) The background would be rather plain in the style of these old portraits, but there might be some accessories/decorations to one side like shields, tables and tablecloths, bundles of spears.
