Current Teaching myself web development by trying to fix some BBCode bugs/features in the Guild is probably a bad idea. Oh, well.

If school were less hard, it'd be less interesting. I still want it to be less hard, though.

OPTEVFOR Joint Divisional Fleet 1

THE OOC IS UP!

(Operational Test and Evaluation Force)

In the interest of joint divisional cooperation within OPTEVFOR, JDF-1 was recently formed to be a total-fleet testbed for ship designs, fleet composition, and tactics for the United States Navy. New ideas, eccentric captains, odd ship designs, and unusual missions are par for the course. So are equipment failures, poor interpersonal and intership discipline, crew nobody else wants, really bad plans, and utterly banal missions. Everything from untested submarines to not-quite-crazy-enough to discharge captains to combat airship test platforms are now quietly shoved into this fleet and left to hang themselves.
This is a ship-based fleet RP. You will roleplay an entire ship in conjunction with the other players (and their ships) to acheive the mission objectives given to you by COMOPTEVFOR. There's a twist, though - your ships are experimental. They should (mostly) be based on real-life or concept ships, as that makes it much easier to fill out the dimensions, speed, and other fields on the ship sheet. Additionally, the RP is set in the modern day, real-life Earth, so no hyperlaser mecha ships that transform into crabs and can walk on land. Acceptable breaks from reality might include an anti-missile laser ship, though, as the military (as far as I know) is at least testing that technology. As a general rule, if a modern military is testing, using, or used the technology, then it's probably okay. If you'd like to make an airship, that's fine, too - but I'll only allow one airship in the RP (first come first serve).

Combat:
What do you guys think? Numbers, RP, or combination? I could go in any direction here.

Anybody interested? I'm also open to constructive criticism and questions.
Whoever does become GM (I don't care), I also move that we create a new thread for the RP. No real good reason, I just don't like having 13 OOC pages that also have "bad blood" on them.
6,5; Perfection Valley

Vibrations. Many vibrations, moving toward the not-stones on the surface. Digs Vigorously remembered how most of the other broodlings had wandered off. Something... other... in Digs Vigorously's heart stirred. She'd felt it once before. It was a good feeling. But the remaining broodlings were moving quickly, and she had to, also. Her experience whispered in her ear: don't go for the center ones; strike the edges; strike the wanderers. So she wouldn't strike first after all, but she'd eat a meal. And the hunger in her stomach could subside, for now. She rumbled off toward the edge of the vibrations.

A broodling erupted into the upper void, underneath a vibration, trying to swallow it whole. Another stayed beneath the void, sending tentacles, searching for the vibration. The vibrations were soft; it reminded Digs Vigorously of small meals in her past. So soft that the first broodling missed, and fell back into the soft soil. Maybe the meal wouldn't be so filling after all. She sensed stronger vibrations above her. The food was moving, doing something. It wasn't moving very fast, nor chaotically. Her heart stirred again. This time it was a bad feeling. She stayed in the dirt, waiting.
6,4: Arizona Red Zone, Tiberium field 11-3

The green crystal had embedded itself into the earth, spreading tendrils throughout, slowly exoforming the hex. Given time, it would exoform the entire planet, transforming matter into more of itself. A byproduct of the process was the transportation of valuable subsurface minerals into the crystalline structure. Another byproduct was noxious gas, in reality millions of airborne tiberium particles, with the capability to infect living matter.

It was this very gas that infected the workers harvesting the crystal. No symptoms show at first, but in a day's time, bright green veins will show through the skin, infecting blood, corrupting machine, mutating tissue.
Sorry about the short break everyone; I just needed a few days away from this RP. But I'm back now. I should've told you; I know. I will in the future.
KabenSaal - Pretty much, yes. You could be particularly aggressive and try to make contact in your first post. It seems like the meat of this RP's going to come from interaction with other factions and exploitation of the GM hexes. At least, until the lone intelligence screws up, which I'll have happen after people are interacting a bit more. And then I'll reveal my ideas for a plot.
