When everything has crumbled around you.
When nature has drawn its final breath.
When all your loved ones have perished.
When nothing seems to make a difference.
When even the smallest glimmer of hope has been smothered out.
When your world is coming to an end

What would you do if you had a chance to start anew?

Your world has come to a devastating end. Whether it be natural disasters, manufactured plagues, ceaseless conflicts, or whatever else your creative minds can cook up. With no hope, and nothing left to do they close their eyes expecting the cold clutches of death to guide them to whatever awaits after death.

But instead they’re cheated of even death itself, their souls sneakily snatched away and taken to a different world. When they awaken they find themselves in an unfamiliar room, wrapped in warm silky sheet on a luxuriously comfy bed. While odd, your character would have welcomed the change were it not for their horribly disfigured body. As your character tries to make sense of what has happened a strange looking something walks into the room (a human). And subconsciously your character realizes that the man before them is the one responsible for everything.

Your characters soul has been sealed inside a doll. Think of it as a featureless mannequin, which has magically sprouted features based on what you were in your past life. For example if you decide that your character was an anthromorphic wolf, they would probably look like a human with a nice fluffy tail and a pair of canine ears perched on his head. You can also opt to be something more humanoid though, an elf for example would look pretty similar, but would have a hard time (albeit easier than others) adapting to the new body. The carry over however is purely novelty, for example you may have been a fire-breathing dragon in your last life, but the mannequin body isn’t able to replicate your ability…. Yet.

That however isn’t really all that important. Before your character worries about their super-powers they need to get used to their new body. To make matters worse the ‘human’ explains how you’ve been enslaved. For the upcoming months a group of ‘captured souls’ will live in the same manor, and learn how to fit in as human beings. Once their training is complete they’ll be sold off as exotic pets to rich and powerful. Failure however is also an option. And those that are deemed unsuitable for sale will not only be scrapped, but have their souls incinerated, preventing your character from entering the ‘cosmic cycle of rebirth’ or whatever realm is supposed to await your kind in the after-life.

Character Sheet

Note: Character sheets can be posted here in the Intchk for the time being.
Might be interested, might not be.
There's plenty of Intchk's that catch my interest, but not of them really last into the OoC x[

I guess the only thing I'd want to say at the moment is that I fully agree with things diverting away from combat and evil. But I do like the idea of conflict between characters, whether it be a conflict in goals, natural inacceptance of someone, or just behaviours that would be normal for some, but disgusting to other (eg; vampires feeding on blood).

I realize that's not really The GM's role, but I was a bit worried about the emphasis on dark-gritty evil shenanigans comment.
Hmm, not entirely sure about the idea, but I couldn't resist commenting on a few things.

First and foremost I'd get rid of "Pasu no Kami" since that's butchered Japanese.
'no' is the possessive of the word before it, so it actually says the "Path's god" (as in the gods belong to the path).
If you really wanted to include Japanese I'd suggest sticking to the familiarized 'Bushidō" (Warrior Path), changing that to "Kamidō" and I suppose "Akumadō" if you wanted to use Japanese for the demons too. But again, I think it'd all just be simpler if you used english since most people who join probably won't be familiar with Japanese, and frankly won't care xD

Nitpicking aside, I'm a bit curious as to what you mean by gods and demons?
Are you adopting the mono-god approach of Christianity, the pantheon gods approach of Greece, or the Japanese god approach 'the yaoyorozu' (literally 8 million gods). Where gods can be found everywhere? 'Tochigami" for example are gods that oversee their own domain, while some mountains (usually the larger ones) have individuals gods that represent them.

A similar question regarding the demons. Are you referring to western demons, as in the horned little red imp men that poke you with forks?... xD Or are you thinking more along the lines of Ayakashi; Japanese demons which aren't necessarily evil as ayakashi, apply any supernatural entity (that isn't a god). Mainly curious about this one since it'd change the entire demon path depending on whether they're inherently evil.
It'd depend on whether anyone would play those roles, (and if not, if Solace could somehow incorporate them to be meaningful in the plot). But yeah, sounds good to me :/
Yeah, Canines would be my pick too, though as I keep saying, I'd prefer to remove canon and not have any Hatari nonsense xD
I suppose Felines are also going to be popular, not too sure about the birds :/
Nothing original in there, but that might be enough, could have a spattering of smaller insignificant tribes I suppose? Like "Oh I'm a bunny from Wonderland; a small village within kitty territory, there's not too many of us cause the kitties keep eating us" xD
Well it couldn't hurt for people to start discussing what Laguz races they'd like to see or play :/
Not entirely sure if my commitment is here now, but I'll stick around until I see what Solace cooks up.
I don't think there'd be any real reasons not to allow a trainee class, but unless this roleplay will include some sort of stat-based level up system, having a trainee class is sort of obsolete.

That said, someone might want to start off with a complete lack of weapon proficiency and develop that in the plot. For example a civilian might pick up a blade and 'class-change' to a myrm.
I don't really see why such a character would need to start as a '-1class' as they could just write myrm on their CS and point out their inexperience in the IC. But for people who prefer to select a class based on the early flow of things, it could work?

To prevent a bombardment of 'Is this available' questions, it might be an idea to get out a list of available classes if possible. I personally prefer the position option, but that requires a bit more thought.
Ehh it's a bit early to close applications in my opinion seeing as how most have really only expressed interest based on the FE label, and have yet to be informed about what the RP is about itself. I'm posting like crazy and contributing(?) ideas, but I'm not committed yet myself, it depends on the characters and what's settled on at the end.

That said, I suppose you can reopen apps at anytime.
Just think it'd be a pity to turn away someone good now since they'll probably never check back even when apps are open xD

Though I have to ask, ideally how many players are you aiming for?
Classes

Again, I'd suggest avoiding copy/pasting from an existing game.
It's better off if you select the classes you'd like to see in your roleplay and add them.
If there's a class from FE# you really like and think will fit, then there's nothing stopping you from importing it in. I personally haven't played anything after FE8, but have watched my brother play up to Radiant Dawn. The rest... are lost to me, so I don't know the classes from that point onward... guess I could go look it up on Serenes.

As for classes I meant a list of vacant positions in the roleplay. For example you might list

-Available Positions-
-Mercenary
-Myrmidon
-Myrmidon
-Mage
-Mage
-Archer
-Priest
EDIT: NOTE: I am not a GM, and this is not an official list, it's just as an Example, refer to TwilightDragon or Solace's posts for official statements

Effectively preventing people from clustering around a certain class *cough*Myrms*cough*.
And omitting Pegasi completely for whatever reason.
I'd also start be restricting the RP to one character per person, and then open up secondaries later on (perhaps with the added advantage of more classes? This is mainly cause it might not make sense to have Pegasi around if we're starting in the far south under the employment of the Southern Kingdom, but might make sense to do it later.)

Hey Solace (Don't worry, I don't know you)
Good to see the Co-GM, I'm assuming you're Mr.Ironfist? xD

Personally I'd prefer to stick to the original concept of having two kingdoms that are at war with each other.
My take on things would be the Beorc kingdoms wanting to invade one another, and making preparations to do so.
But seeing as how there's a Laguz area inbetween they'd probably want to get the locals on their side to secure a supply route. Most Laguz tribes though probably wouldn't appreciate Beorcs waging war against one another in their lands, so they'll be fighting to keep the invaders out, or negotiating something in exchange.

I guess you could say this is North vs South with Laguz getting literally caught up in the middle.

My issue with 'Beorc v Laguz' or Laguz being used as refugee's is that I can't imagine Beorc policy being overly accepting of taking in Laguz. The concept of having a few sneak in; perhaps even establishing their own secretive little community out on the streets is neat. But as an overall focus for the roleplay, I find it a bit of a stretch to think Laguz would flee persecution from their kin (even if they're savages), and rely on humans who persecute and disdain them.

Either way, having the Laguz pitted against the Beorc sounds like it'd detract from the entire point of having Laguz as a race in my opinion.
If we want to incorporate Laguz taking back their lands and some major Beorc v Laguz conflict, you could easily have the Beorc's invading and claiming land with the intention of invading the other Beorc nation. In that sense the Laguz would be a petty threat, and easily brushed aside at first. But war is a tricky thing, and something might happen to make the Laguz more dangerous later on, whether that be unity, magic or some sort of alternate intervention.

As for Chapters, I think that's compulsory component of any group roleplay that's intended to last longer than a short story. It actually fits in pretty well with the base material, but more importantly an introductory paragraph makes sure characters know what's going on, and what's expected of them. People can obviously deviate a bit and be creative of course. But setting out the central premise and objectives helps keep things orderly and manageable. Having people go off on a completely random tangent sucks.

Available classes should probably be listed so we get variety.
I might even go as far as suggesting you specifically create positions for characters to fill xD
