Bio

Y'all can call me Bard.

I've been RPing for about 15 years now.

I'm also an aspiring novelist and an avid writer of short stories.

I believe hardship and bad karma (regardless of how much good one does) are necessary for character development, aptly explained by a well selling writer:
"Be a sadist. No matter how sweet and innocent your leading characters, make awful things happen to them—in order that the reader may see what they are made of." —Kurt Vonnegut

Absolutely no one has anything to post though? Keaira made the attempt to at least engage someone...but there's also the fact "Father" ran out of the room "in tears". No one has a reaction to that either?
I'm working on a sheet for a female.
So, apparently someonesomewere has been on and posting in KiratheRogue's CHB. So I PMed him about his absence here. We'll see what comes of that, hopefully we'll be able to move along soon 'cause until there's something from him, Bee and I are kind of paused.

Unless you guys think we should just ditch Adrian.
Alright, if there's at least one or two more interested in this, I can start up the OOC.
"Shiloh," Riley started, but had to stop to catch her own breath. She had felt the gripes of panic edging up and coiling around her lungs. The last thing they needed was for them both to panic. "Shiloh, just stop and listen. We have to get out of here and I think I see a way." She swallowed hard, looking toward the dark hole. She didn't like it, not one bit, but if it was a way out of this room...

Her stomach rolled and she had to swallow again to keep the bile from rising. She looked back at Shiloh. "Are you hurt anywhere?" Not that it would matter in a few minutes from the glint of whatever was lining that hole. "Because we're going to need to crawl." With that last statement, she flicked on her flashlight and shone it over at the only chance for escape.

Chris immediately glared at the chick with her hand on him. Natalie - Na...whatever - why the hell should he give a fuck what her name was. It was Riley's friend, and he supposed he would have to make sure she stayed alive, but of course just like every other stick up their ass chick, she had to pull the 'I'm the only one that knows what I'm doing around here' shit moves. He had half a mind to just snap her arm, but the other half reminded him it was counter productive. A chick that had a knife like that probably knew at least how to use it for one thing or another, or at the very least would be a pain in the ass to drag along with a dislocated elbow.

With every pound of his head, his thoughts kept getting worse. Counterproductive, even by his standards. He had no clue where Riley was, they had to find Shiloh and Riley, and get the fuck out of this place - priorities if ever he had any. So if he had to listen to this bitch for a minute, then fine. He stepped back, muscles tensed from fighting the desire to just sock her in the face. The hand he had been reaching out pulled sharply from her grasp, a slight hope it set her off balance eve just a little, and raised to his face. Pulling the cigarette from his lips and lowering it, he blew a long stream of smoke out directed at the chick's head and kept blowing until it all left his lungs.
Keaira jumped back a step when the cell door swung open. She looked around when she saw others were leaving their rooms to go toward the voice, and followed suit. Her hand trailed the wall, trying to understand why she wanted to run instead of just walk like everyone else and that hand helped her keep a bit of balance for trying to keep a similar pace to everyone else. Picking a spot against a wall, she did her best to stand still and not fidget, but she couldn't; she found she kept shifting from one leg to the next. A dozen and five thoughts kept swirling around in her head.

Finally, it got to a point when she noticed no one else was going over to this guy that said he was their father. She looked around, pushing away from the wall and stepping forward. "Hi, can I go? Because there has to be other stuff, right? Right. So I was hoping I could ask some questions. That's okay right? No one else minds? Great," she said - almost as if she didn't take a breath. She walked forward, doing her best not to rush though it was hard which put a lot of sway to her sashay.

She slid onto the seat everyone else had been taking and faced him. "So, what should I start off with? Probably the first thing in mind, right? Like something no one else asked? What did other people ask? Oh! Well, so, if you're you and I don't look like my siblings," she glanced around at the others when she said that, "that means we all have different mothers, right? Because if we all have different mothers, then I was wondering what my mother was like. Because if we all were from the same parents, we would kind of look alike but I don't really see a resemblance. Is there a resemblance I'm not seeing?"

Father laughed. "Oh Keaira, talking at a million miles per hour again." He smiled warmly. "I can assure you you all have the same mother. The resemblance is a little more odd, you see you resemble one another in the aspect that you all are part-animal." He said. "And you Ki, which was what we tended to call you by the way, you look very much like your mother, in fact she babied you a lot." Father went on. "She just would have loved to give you kids the world, I remember she would come home so excited just to see you all." He laughed and began to wipe tears from his eyes.

She didn't remember the nickname, then again, she didn't remember her mother. Minute sadness overtook her features, down turning her lips and pinching her brows ever so slightly; she didn't remember anything, but all that past tense and Father's tears meant one thing. Dead. A foot perched on the seat of the chair she sat on, giving her arms somewhere to rest as her fingers combed her hair. Her eyes watered a little, but she wanted to soldier past, millions of other thoughts on her mind.

Unfortunately, that's not what came out. "So how did she die then? Because you talk about her like she's dead. Was it peaceful? Did we get to go to the funeral? Oh, and was Mom pretty?" The sadness washed away, save for a slight glistening of tears along her lower eyelids, to a soft smile. "I bet she was pretty. And was it genetic that we all are part animal or was there a different reason for that? Did she approve of the different reason if that were the case? If we were made part animal, how long has it been? Oh, even better question than that. So never mind that last one, well - I want to know the answer but not as much as this next one. How old am I?"

"Your mother...She passed in a plane crash on her way to the island we're on right now. It was horrific, she died instantly, but the rest of the people weren't so lucky. We went to her funeral, but it was closed casket. She didn't die peacefully at all... She was so beautiful, I miss her so much." He took out a handkerchief and wiped at the tears that were now streaming down his face. "It was not genetic, no." He said with a light sigh. "We don't know why you turned, radiation maybe? But we still loved you all so much, you're my children and that will never change. You've been this way since birth, 18 years ago."

Father began to cry deeply and was ushered out of the room by some security guards.

Keaira blinked, the frown sweeping back over her features. She turned, looking to the others. "I - that's not my fault. I swear. We were talking and I was sad and he was sad and that is not my fault. And I wasn't paying attention to what you guys asked. So when you guys talked to Father, what did you ask? What did he tell you? Because, I mean, we're all siblings so we should share right? That's what siblings do? We share and we look out for each other and stuff like that? That's what I think we're supposed to do anyways, so I'm going to try to do that stuff."
Okay, so I get antsy...a lot. It’s kind of an impulse to multitask on my part driving me to keep as many balls in the air as possible to help keep my creativity in focus. Read my expectations if you are considering taking me up. I know it’s long, but please bear with me for it because it is more crucial than some of the other stuff.

My Expectations

So, what I’m looking for is at least moderate to high Casual level players, though Advanced is definitely more than welcome; I’m expecting at least two paragraphs each post, though the longer the better. There should be absolutely no one-liners - ever. I have a no tolerance rule for insubstantial posts. There should be some evidence of consideration and attempt to move the role play along; a few paragraphs that gives me nothing to work with doesn’t help us role play. I’m a stickler about minutia but I love to see details; at least try to keep things consistent, please.

I like realism to be applied to writing and character concepts which means I will very likely ask questions about your character when it deviates from the reality we’re working with and get a competent, legitimate answer instead of “because that’s how it is” or something of the same venue. I don’t mind if you question me in return - actually, I enjoy it. Questions are the only way we get answers, and constructive criticism helps us improve.

Preferentially, we’d have two conversations - one for the RP and one for OOC - since I like keeping non-RP stuff away from actual Roleplay. After all, communication is key, and I do find it fun to talk about the characters, discuss plot points and ideas, really anything RP (though I’m not opposed to unrelated stuff too.) We both should contribute to the RP; if you’re not happy with something I’m doing I’d like to find out, and I’d like to know the same can be done on my own side.

Character count is up to you. I know I can juggle - I think the most I’ve done in a single RP was seven - multiple characters, but I’m okay with doing just one character with one character as well. Also, sheets are your choice. I find them to be helpful, but I would at least like to know a little bit about the character going in if they’re supposed to know each other going in.

I think it goes without saying that proper grammar, proper spelling, third person, past tense is expected. I won’t gripe about grammar, though I may start in about spelling mistakes if it happens too much and I would appreciate knowing the difference between words like there and their or even since and sense (the latter one is actually truly infuriating and something I saw extremely often on a different site) and so on; remember those are just examples and not the full list of words to not confuse *though I have leeway with confusing affect and effect*.
No unnecessary coding or apostrophes or capitalizations, please. Italics for internal thought or emphasis is fine and more than welcome as I will likely use that coding for those purposes, but anything else is just killing it in my opinion.

Ploty-plot plot

I like to RP in fantasy, sci-fi (so long as it’s not too futuristic), alternative reality (which generally falls under fantasy or sci-fi), preternatural/supernatural/occult/paranormal, horror (which can fall into most categories), superpowers (natural or scientifically given - which is just a difference between genres), and sometimes just fiction (aka slice of life). I could go even further in depth about them, but we can get into specifics in the chat conversation.
I enjoy unconventional pairings, romance, and drama as subplots, but they should never take over the RP (unless it was predetermined to be the point of the RP.)

Some actual plots I have:

1) Castle Larendale (fantasy)

2) The Collectors (Science fiction)
This one already has a taker. Sorry to any others interested.

3) It’s Never Simple (Action/Romance)

I’m open to suggestion, so if these plots don’t interest you, feel free to make your own suggestion
based on some of my genre interests. The more details you come to me with, the better - but I’m always up for fleshing out ideas if you only know the basics. And I can elaborate more on any of my plots if you are interested in them.

Please send me a PM if you're interested.
Hey, so since this is clearly forgotten, I'm just withdrawing.
That makes a lot of sense. Thanks. I'll post up my sheet momentarily - because that was what I was hoping to do for him, have him send there to 'be held for trial'.
((Please forgive me for this is my first time creating even an interest thread on this site.))

This is set in a world created by Laurell K Hamilton for her Anita Blake series. Don’t worry if you haven’t read the series, I’m just borrowing the world. Some terms, abilities/attributes, and other things that are being used from the series will be defined so you understand them. That means it is alternative universe to us but humans are still just like humans in our world, so keep it real.

Vampires exist. Were-creatures are real. Magic is not just in fairy tales. This is the real world.
The real world is full of monsters, legends, things of fantasy. Some are endangered, some are extinct, and some even live among us.

Basic Plot

Years ago, young (defined as ages 5 - 16) preternatural beings (mostly lycanthropes and witches/psychics, though some youthful looking, weak vampires) disappeared. After a series of gruesome murders, the disappearances stopped and most of the missing youths returned, a lot of whom went to a safe house following the handful responsible for freeing them.

Now, just over a decade later, the disappearances have started again. Four children (that have been reported) have disappeared in the last four months. The RPIT detectives are without a clue again, but they count themselves lucky that the murders haven’t started. Yet.

I'm looking for 4-9 people. Character sheets and additional information will follow for the OOC if there is interest. Questions are definitely welcome.
