Look at all these glorious, long RPs that I can't edge into
Bio
So, you've found yourself staring at this with a blank as hell expression on your face because internal monologue is a bitch. That aside, you want to know a little about me, don't you?
I've roleplaying on and off for the lesser part of three years, maybe 6 months out of the year where I actually do things. My origins trace to Xat (a chatbox site) and, more recently, Google Plus. Yes, people, there is a roleplay scene on Google Plus. There's a scene everywhere.
A situation. Like this one--- oh. Wait. Can't do that here.
I tend to prefer moderate to full detail paragraph roleplay. I particularly enjoy those with adventure/action themes, mystery, dark/angst, horror, fantasy, Eastern story plots (Japan, China, Thailand, etc), and science fiction. I'm looking to hone my battle roleplay as of late, so that's what I'll be out doing along with lurking on various other RPs.
Let me know if I need to polish anything over. If there are typos, I blame my tablet. It just hates me, the poor thing.
Username: Resentment Fray | Character Name: Saho Tachibana Character Age: 18 years, 7 months| Character Gender: Female
Appearance: Tachibana's appearance is caught somewhere between a child's and punk rocker's. Apart from rolling out of bed (not on all days), brushing her teeth, and taking a shower, the young woman does little else to promote her appearance.
Her ink black hair is cut short to avoid hassle although traces of dark blue hair dye can be seen from various years of highlights and other colorful ventures. Sloppy bangs obscure her eyes when sunglasses do not, although they are an alarmingly watery tawny color, like coffee heavily thinned by milk due to a childhood bout of fever that left Tachibana blind save for the murkiest perception of shadow and light. Her skin is rather pallid from the amount of time she spends indoors and is usually smudged with a stray nick or bruise.
She stands at just 154 cm, making seem to be a rather passive or non - threatening figure but her file in the police database places her as being involved in several brawls. Despite being extremely scrawny and wiry, she posses a lean and hardened physique. Her crude tendencies and her toughened, usually sloppy appearance often have her mistaken for a boy, which Tachibana doesn't seem to correct often.
Fourth Dimensional Power: Sound: Energy:
Biography
Born to two schoolteachers in Tokyo, Saho Tachibana enjoyed a relatively normal life even during the first years of the Fourth Dimensional scare. Following her encounter with meningitis at the age of six, Tachibana has all but completely lost her sight. She is able to distinguish light from the dark and motion, but she cannot see definite shapes or colors.
It was soon afterwards that she began to develop an uncanny set of hearing faculties. With it came some startling stories that she told her parents. Convinced that her fantastic stories -- one of them being of a bizarre entity that otherworldly beings referred to as the all mighty Fourth Dimensional toe cheese-- would result in her being killed or kidnapped by the government or private research sector, they quickly scared her into keeping silent about her tendencies. They explained her sudden quietness as another effect of her childhood illness.
At around age ten, Tachibana made a startling discovery as she began to attend her local dojo to begin training under her aunt, a local Goju Ryu karateka. She quickly noticed that every time she became frustrated, a burst of inexplicable color began to bloom at her hands and feet, sometimes even covering portions of her body in a second skin. Being blind at this stage in her life, she found these colors to be beyond the normal colors she had seen when she was still very young. While this would not affect the other children she practiced with, she still does not understand their properties.
In order to better isolate herself, Tachibana attends college classes online and rarely leaves her apartment. She is a certified interpreter and works translating documents from her apartment on a freelance basis. It makes an income that is decent enough for her to survive and enjoy a few comforts.
@RawrgnatheBloodfridge Ah. I guess I'll just work on a bare bones sheet. Maybe I'll just have the character have sound and put it in that it acquires energy later because of some interaction or other. Whenever Tek returns I'll ask for more specifics. At least I have no idea what energy really is so I can't really abuse it.
Alright, I have done a very thorough read to get this all to sink into my very, very sporadic ADD mind.
I was considering making a blind girl or boy who will probably be 18 or older. Just to try and counter the doki doki apocalypse.
That being said, the energy subject is really vague. Any chance you'd be the person I'd ask for elaboration on that? I was thinking about making the character martial arts heavy and combining both sound and energy. Not sure if that would be too potent, though.
The sound and senstion of motion was prickling in the very ambience, something Atticus quickly tuned into, selectively ousting the various chatter of the wild fowl or scampering woodland creatures. While her own movements on the soil may have left soft, muted footsteps, the snap and bend of branches overhead immediately allowed for her to assess the qualities of this intruder.
Their brisk pace was more the choice of someone that knew where they were headed rather than a stranger to these lands. She did not see any sort of Imperial insignia or coat of arms that would designate this quick intruder as an ally or enemy as she tailed behind, dropping her speed every so slightly to obscure into the background. The way the trees groaned, however, suggested that this was a man of considerable height and weight. Armed, no doubt. Probably well armored.
Her right hand seemed to grasp at something on her left, prompting the jarring, shrill sound of technology powering to life. In a streak of motion, she dropped her body low to the ground, temporarily disappearing from sight altogether as she sped ahead of the intruder, waiting for the moment he was posed to leap for the next perch before driving her seemingky fragile fist into the trunk of the aged oak. Whatever produced that sound only grew louder as her punch chewed through the stony bark and through the soft flesh of the core, splintering the tree as it threatened to collapse. Any weight more on it and the strange blur of a man would come crashing down, no doubt. And if he halted to retreat, well, it would give her plenty of time to scrutinize him for directives. Either someone was going to end up cold, bruised, and swimming in saliva and blood, or have a good amount of excuses to explain.
A young woman of a more stoic, reserved disposition, Johanna is notable for her long black hair with its many waves and layers that leave it resembling a nest of feathers, her relatively fair skin with its slightly yellowed tint, and sharp olive green eyes. She is rather short in stature and doesn't seem to surpass five feet in height by much. While small, she is on the leaner side of stocky and has a hidden physical fitness that isn't apparent until called into use. Typically, Johanna will wear darker pants or dark wash jeans, leather sandals, loosely fitting button up shirts with a tank underneath, and will almost always have her hooded grey leather jacket.
Back-story/Biography:
A college student, Johanna had previously lived in Ridgeway when she was a child and recalled enough of the suspicious folk tales to consider it a potentially interesting place to live in after completing high school in Rochester, New York. She applied to a university local to the area and is currently studying mass communications and English to later pursue a career in journalism. She currently works at the local hardware store as a cashier and stock girl, and is the only female working there when the owner's wife or young daughter aren't present for their brief visits. Johanna is anticipating on writing an Honors thesis on her own investigations over the town and its urban legends.
Skills/Defining Characteristics:
Due to her studies and her impeccable record, one can distinguish Johanna as a rather accomplished student. She is thorough, analytical, intuitive, and never asks more questions than needed. She has a knack for patterns and sequences, able to place together clues quite quickly and efficiently. Despite this, she seems to not be sociable although she is far from shy. She simply doesn't engage in conversation she finds pointless.
Having trained in Goju Ryu style karate since the age of 10, Johanna is a highly proficient martial artist that continue to practice and train to this day. While she has told very few people about her second degree black belt, those who have encountered her in a friendly spar or attacked her in a hostile environment note her brutal power, speed, and accuracy. She is aware of how to use a firearm although seems to not be overly skilled at it. She can wield a knife or long staff due to her training in Okinawan style. Overall, Johanna retains a rather fit physique and clear head.
@Diabolic Lol, m8. Thanks for the compliment, I suppose. I have been RPing sporadically for roughly 3 years (when I say that, I mean an odd 5 months out of each), so I'm trying to really refine at this point. Never done forums before, though. Never found one this easy to interpret. Story style has always been my forte but I'm looking to hone myself in battle style lately.
In light of recent comment:
Yeah, I tend to use more of the European terms because it's common from where I was from. But I'll mix it up quite a bit, whatever comes out happens.
