Although I have only recently joined this site, I have been roleplaying for about six years now, so don't worry about me being inexperienced. I say recently, even though this account is two three years old. I had completely forgotten about it until recently, which is why it's sat inactive and gathered dust
“How long will you be in the country?” “Three weeks,” Julius replied, offering the customs agent his trademark smile as he did so. “And the purpose of your stay?” the agent continued on, giving no reaction to the smile. “I was invited to give a series of lectures over in Academy City’s District 12,” “I see. Well everything here seems to be in order. Enjoy your stay in Japan Mr. O’Sullivan,” After giving Julius’ papers one last glance through, the agent slid them back across the desk. Julius thanked the agent, before quickly gathering up his documents and proceeding past the customs checkpoint. From there, it was only a simple matter of following the posted directions before he stepped out of the terminal and into the sun outside. He took a moment to appreciate the warmth of the sun shining down on him before he made his way over to a bench outside the airport. Sitting down on the bench, he took a moment to search through his bag, making absolutely sure all of his possessions were still there. Once he was satisfied that everything was in its place, he pulled out a map of Japan and carefully unfolded it. The map was extensively notated, with important locations, optimal travel routes, and even a few tourist spots marked in bold red ink. He’d asked his assistant back at the Vatican to do the notation for him, as she’d been to Japan previously on holiday, and she also had an almost obsessive fascination with Japanese culture, much to Julius’ disapproval. He was surprised to learn as he looked the map over, that the nearest subway station was actually a part of the airport passenger terminal itself, rendering his journey outside pointless. After studying the map for a number of minutes, making sure he was satisfied that he’d committed the route to Academy City to memory, he stood up and folded the map back into his bag. He headed back into the airport, and after following yet another series of posted signs, he finally made it to the subway station. It took him longer than he would have liked to determine which platform corresponded to the line he needed to take, but he did eventually manage to figure it out and before long he was comfortably seated in the train car as it made its way to Academy City.
Julius exudes a constant aura of calm collectedness. He is never seen with anything but a totally serene composure and not even his closest associates can recall even one time where he has raised his voice above a normal register. However, he also carries about him a powerful sense of unease or even dread. His colleagues have described it as an unshakable pressure, weighing down on them, present whenever Julius is in the room intensified even further when making eye contact with him. Despite this face, he is still well liked by his colleagues and regarded as one of the best in his field. In conversation he is exceedingly polite, albeit perhaps a bit too formal at times, and he is quick to amicably resolve any conflicts or disagreements that arise. His faith in God and The Church is overwhelming and absolute.
History
Julius' life has been governed and shaped by the Church essentially from birth. Born an orphan to unknown parents, he eventually ended up in the custody of the Roman Catholic Church, more specifically the Vatican. There he was put through an intense doctrine of schooling, both religious and academic. He was allowed very little free time and was made to devote his entire being to his classes. He excelled at every subject he was given, and earned high praise from everyone who taught him. Eventually he was selected as a candidate for the Church's more ethically questionable research projects. He was subject to innumerable experiments by the Vatican, involving anything from holy relics, to extensive surgery. It was during one of these surgeries that his heart stopped beating and he was pronounced dead. However, he returned to life less than ten minutes later, without any outside resuscitation and without suffering any lasting damage from the incident. When he was later asked how he was able to come back to life after seemingly dying, he simply replied, "I was shown by The Lord that my work here is yet unfinished,". When his education, as well as his tenure as a research subject for the Church, was finished, he took up duties as a priest under the Vatican. His current responsibilities mostly involve traveling to act as a representative of the Vatican for diplomatic purposes.
Holy Fire - The Light of God
Julius primarily uses The Light of God, colloquially known as Holy fire, a potent type of magic taught to high ranking mages within the Roman Catholic Church. Like traditional Fire Magic it is quite versatile, with a wide range of applications and capabilities. In addition to the normal traits of the fire though, the infusion of divine energy further strengthens the flames, particularly against demonic or inhuman entities, and makes them much more difficult to extinguish. Julius uses scripture as the specific catalyst for evoking his magic, which is the most common method although other lesser known options do exist. By reciting specific scriptures he can summon different manifestations of Holy Fire, each with its own intended use.
Magical Items
The Rope of Judas - Julius is in possession of the original Rope of Judas. It is an immensely powerful magical artifact which absolves the user of any and all sin.
Walking Church - Julius' entire outfit comprises a high level Walking Church which also incorporates the Rope of Judas into its design. It's exact function, however is a complete mystery, known only to Julius and a few other high ranking members of the Roman Catholic Church
Expertise
Religious Studies - Julius' Knowledge of Scripture and the Catholic faith is second to none, even among those at the Vatican. He has committed the entire text of the bible to memory, and he can turn almost any event or topic into a teachable sermon. In addition to his wealth of knowledge about Catholicism, he is also fairly well versed on all other major sects of Christianity, as well as the other major world faiths.
Hand to Hand Combat - As a high ranking member of the Catholic Church, Julius would naturally be a prime target for its enemies, especially considering the fact that he spends most of his time abroad. To this end, he has been taught a large amount of various hand to hand combat skills from various martial arts. He is by no means a master, but he can easily hold his own in a barehanded fight.
Charisma - Julius has a natural talent for charisma and diplomacy, even despite the slight sense of unease he seems to give people. After talking for just a few minutes, his calm and polite demeanor puts almost everyone at ease, and allows them to open up to him.

Identity
Though one might not be able to tell at first glance, Inori is the presumed heir to the Yamanaka Clan. Once a shy and obedient kid, puberty appears to have transformed her into a rebel without a cause. With little regard for family or even shinobi traditions, going as far as dying her own hair a different color and using colored contact lenses to match, the girl struggles to leave the shadow of her clan and become someone unique, someone who is not defined by blood or secret techniques. Her attitude has caused those within the Yamanaka Clan to worry about their future. The current head can only hope that her behavior is temporary, or else he'll have to make the necessary changes to assure that his leadership is passed down to a 'worthy' individual. Regardless, the girl does not seem to care, nor does she show interest in whoever may claim the position. When asked why she intends to become a ninja in spite of it all, Inori confesses that 'it's probably the only thing she's good at' and that it'll be 'the easiest and fastest way to leave home', adding that 'if she proves herself to be capable enough, she'll earn good money'.
Following her own sense of fashion [and life], she is not known to quickly cast away others in prejudice. Things like race, physical shape, clan and overall background are not obstacles in forming a bond with her, however, she puts great emphasis in actions and decisiveness during first impressions. She's no stranger to street fighting, so sometimes things simply do not work out. She is not afraid to join a group of outcasts, and has found the Akimichi and Nara clan to be compelling partners to spend the time with. For one, quietly eating and slacking off can be quite enjoyable provided the timing is right.
When the situation calls for it, Inori displays traits of a realist -and sometimes those of a pessimist-, often being overwhelmed by such thoughts in the middle of combat. She's not someone who finds violence exciting, but someone who dominates it like blacksmiths do with their hammer. This may make her appear to be more mature than she looks, but in truth, she's just another desperate soul in need of guidance. Because she is at odds with her family, she seeks answers elsewhere, and industry has found a way into her heart in the way of music. Most of her allowance has been spent in a CD-player and a set of headphones.
Personal History
Inori´s fist years were no different than those of most. Having been born in a period of peace, she was never exposed to loss and strife, and was able to spend most of her time with her family. At the age of four, however, she was selected as a candidate for a particular investigation that required the mandatory aid of children from the Yamanaka Clan to take off. Seeing as Inori had no brothers nor sisters, and that in the future she would have to become the house head, her parents were naturally against it. However, once they witnessed the results of the experiment in other children, they nodded in approval without a second thought. Why would her parents (which would be Inotora's children, right?) be down for such a process. Were they attempting to create sleeper cells for when Inotora Eventually came back to power? From that age, every day at evening, Inori´s training regime would begin to include hypnotic sessions. The goal was to create a 'controlled' second personality or 'second mind' that would be able to learn and perform tasks regardless of the user's real motivation, affinity or mental state. What Benefit would it be to train children to have two personalities? It seems more inefficient than if you were to train them normally. For a long time, Inori remained oblivious to the existence of this second aspect of herself and had virtually no recollection of what kind of exercises she underwent during hypnosis. On the other hand, her parents were fully aware, and they were able to witness how their daughter, who disliked kenjutsu and refused to practice it, was no capable to hold her own in combat against someone at least twice her age Yeah, no. Try again. while in trance.
By the time Inori was enlisted in the academy, she had already learnt about her alter ego. If she's a sleeper cell with two separate personalities, why the hell would she be aware of it? She accepted it and used it mostly like a tool when the need arose. She was proud to be able to study to become a ninja and she was quite excited, as well. So much so, that one day she decided to spend the entire day tracking a group of Genin as they carried out missions through the village. She felt... Betrayed. From pulling out weeds to walking dogs or bringing pets back home, their labors weren't anything close to what she had been told. Unwilling to accept reality, she repeated the process another day, this time with a shinobi of higher rank, a Chunin. She was glad to see that his tasks carried plenty of responsibility. Delivering messages and watching the gate might look tame in comparison to other kind of tasks, but they were really important. They had a meaning and required ninja talent to be carried out in the best manner possible. Sadly, at certain point the Chunin simply decided to put off his duties and slack off while supposedly on duty. This was because there was no sense of urgency and everyone had become accustomed to the villages being at peace. Inori learned that it wasn't just him, a lot of officers did exactly the same thing, even if they had different forms to display it.
The only ones who were different were those who stood out. Their looks and attitude, it was simply alien in comparison. However, you could tell with just a glance that they actually cared about their job. From this point onward, Inori began to see a pattern. Looking generic meant you were part of a collective whose boring destiny had already been carved in stone. This was especially true within her clan. A lot of members looked the same, learned the same techniques and, in doing so, sacrificed their identity. So Inori did what she had to do and it all began with a drastic change in appearance. Because she wasn't willing to part with her beautiful name, she instead changed her hair color. Every family head had had blonde hair, so this made her immediately stand out. She began swimming against the current, and before anyone could tell, she had gone from sweet and obedient to 'problematic child'. Skipping class, becoming involved in fights, they became usual news for the Yamanaka.
Eventually, swayed by music and the mentality of the new world, her faith for Shinobi decayed and together with it, her drive to become someone truly special. Since it was likely that, even if she put all she had into it, she would end up just like all those 'slackers' nonetheless -And even if she did manage to become special, as things were, her talents would not be needed-, as breaking fate did not simply entail a change in appearance, she figured she might as well stop trying and join the flock. Nowadays, her rebellious nature remains present in her entire being, however, her look on things is now much more realistic/pessimistic.
Character Development & Conceptualization
With a mindset unlike her peers, Inori has seemingly lost her faith not just in the ways of old but in what the future departs, and with it the passion that comes with becoming a 'true' ninja. Having decided to live life in a selfish way just so she can be at ease, watch her struggle as reality continues to prove, time after time, that being a shinobi isn't as easy as she initially thought. Will she succumb under the pressure of hardship and loss, choosing to escape, abandoning the life of a ninja just to continue moving forward? Or will she be able to recall, to re-ignite the embers of a dying flame that some people call 'The Will of Fire'? Doesn't tell me what your plans/wants/ideas for the character are.
Attributes
Character Focus & Skillset
Street Fighter: A lot of Inori's fighting experience comes from unarmed fights where no rules are involved. Granted, these were normally small skirmishes between her and other problematic group of peers her age, resulting in the incidents having little consequence. That said, since she was more often than not the one being outnumbered, she has learned how to anticipate and deal with coordinated attacks executed from different directions, how to properly use the environment in secluded spaces to her advantage and has developed certain resistance that allows her to recover faster from attacks that would normally leave one dazed for a good second or two. Naturally, this has come at the cost of Inori being the one at the losing end for quite some time.
Combat-Knife Expertise: Despite seemingly being a natural fist fighter, Inori excelled in Kunai duels during Traditional Shinobi Sparring at the Academy, especially in the ones that involve dual-wielding, managing to emerge on top of her class. Being no genius, however, the spotlight was taken away from her in most other disciplines. Proud of her achievement, though, she has continued to train the art and even purchased her own personal knife weapon, which she can wield as well, if not better, as the regular kunai.
Hit and Run Specialist: Inori might not be the fastest one around, but she is one of the few who has learned how to take advantage of her small stature. In battle, she prefers to sacrifice offensive potential if it means coming out from an exchange unscratched. Rather than someone who aims battles in a single act, Inori likes to play the long game and exhaust opponents, weakening them little by little through 'chip damage'. Through feints, slides and carefully planned jumps, Inori constantly moves around the battlefield, leaving and resuming combat at a fast pace. Naturally, she's at her best against taller foes on closed locations like the inside of a building. In the open, she often needs to resort to the use of traps or outside support.
Mind Division Technique: Alter Ego Rank: C Description: A new Jutsu in experimental stages developed by the Yamanaka Clan with the aid of Konoha's Scientific Team for investigation purposes. Satoru-era Science Team would not support this development. If done, it would need to be kept secret from the village. Though weaker in complexity in comparison to the Mind-Body Switch Technique, the time required to 'nurture' it makes children more suitable for testing than adults. In essence, once one has learned how to artificially develop a 'second personality', the next stage is being able to willingly be able to swap between them. This makes the Mind Division Technique: Alter Ego the required 'switch' to awaken the 'second personality' as well as the safeguard that 'allows one to go back'. Since the Yamanaka possess the knowledge required to mold and separate a 'second personality' to their liking, there is little risk of the mind becoming unestable as a result. Indeed, this 'second personality' is often raised to feel no pain or emotion and focus entirely on a single task. In a sense, it's currently more of a strange form of self-suggestion than anything else. In Inori's case, the chosen focus for her 'second personality' has been 'Swordsmanship'. When this state of mind is awakened, her skills with the sword raise significantly for a short period of time, usually no more than three minutes. However, once the time is up, she displays no recollection of what happened during that time. Though the 'body' can learn, the mind 'seals away' the acquired experience in order to protect mental integrity, leaving skills trained by one's 'alter ego' as exclusive to their personality and vice-versa. This was the technique's original goal, to be able to master a greater number of skills by dividing the effort between two personalities. As it is still in experimental stages, it will take at least a few years for it to yield reliable results. This ability needs to be reworked along with her backstory pertaining to it. As it stands, there is no justification for the research and development of this technique, unless the Yamanaka clan was actively plotting to retaliate against the village. The concept of the ability also doesn't feel like it fits well in the universe of the RP.
Mind Division Technique: Accel Rank: D Description: A hidden Jutsu that allows the members of the Yamanaka Clan to effectively separate their current 'awareness' into two or more and then redirect each part's focus to a specific process. As a result, the one's thought process become faster and more accurate, akin to a calculator. So long as the user's senses can properly 'perceive' phenomena and their bodies can 'keep up', anticipating the immediate future becomes a trivial matter. However, speeding one's thoughts in this way can cause an effect similar to 'overheating' if used for too long. Usually the greater the number of mind-partitions the Yamanaka creates, the greater the risk. At her current age, Inori can only create accelerate her thought process through a single additional partition for about a half an hour before she is assaulted by a sharp headache and has to stop. Has a mild headache after thirty minutes of pushing her thought process to 200%? What? When is use, her awareness becomes such that it becomes hard to surprise or distract her, and although prediction of the immediate future is impossible, the success of actions that involve throwing or intercepting projectiles is greatly increased. It also provides a bonus in close-quarter combat where being able to 'read one's opponent' is vital, but a more experienced fighter can easily cancel it, due to differences in skill. This also needs work. The ability as it stands now is too powerful and needs balancing. Again, like Alter Ego, it doesn't really feel like an ability that fits well in the RP universe.
Earth Style: Stone Pistol Technique Rank: D Description:After forming the necesary handseals, the Ninja molds Earth Natured Chakra inside their mouth, creating pebble-sized projectiles that are later expelled with great speed and force. Five singular consecutive shots can be fired in a small window of time. The aim can be slightly adjusted between each shot, but they will all follow a linear trajectory. This needs to be bumped up to a C but is otherwise fine.
1) The backstory needs some revision, largely surrounding the mind research 2) The conceptualization section needs to be expanded to show what you plan to do with your character in the future 3) The custom techniques need some adjustment

Ryusuke is the epitome of quiet and soft spoken, to the point where many of his classmates have wondered whether he even can speak. Before his accident, he was usually brimming with excitement, always excited to hear about the goings on of the clan. However, after his accident, he became silent and withdrawn, interacting with others less and less until he hardly spoke at all. The only person he will interact with to any meaningful degree any more is Katsuo, and even then very rarely when there are other people around.
Origin Story
Twelve years ago, during the civil war, the main branch family of the Hyuga had begun to show clear sympathy towards Inotora’s regime. After all, the choice to support the incumbent Hogake was a virtual certainty from the beginning. Inotora shared their extremely traditionalist ideals, and if the rebellion lead by Uchiha Satoru was to succeed, it would surely mean the loss of at least some of their political power within the village. However, as the main branch members were preparing to publicly announce their support of Inotora, a faction within the Hyuga that had slowly grown since the start of the war made its move. The faction was comprised of side branch members who felt that the main branch family had grown complacent and their ultra traditionalist ideals were outdated. Secretly, with the assistance of the Hatake Clan, they planned and successfully carried out an internal coup, assassinating the head of the clan and his wife who made up the main branch family. There was one complication that the faction had not foreseen in their haste to carry out their coup: the newborn son of the main branch family, Hyuga Hideki. The members of the assassination team argued amongst themselves before finally conceding that none of them had the necessary resolve to murder an infant in cold blood.
Luckily, the child’s birth was so recent that it had not yet been officially announced or recorded within the clan or village. The leaders of the coup came to the decision that, since the newly orphaned child would be allowed to live, he would need to be cared for by members of the clan. Immediately a husband and wife volunteered to adopt the child. The pair was Hyuga Hiroshi and Hyuga Hitomi, the two members chosen to become the new main branch family, for their progressive views and caring nature. The two already had a young son of six, and were expecting a daughter soon. Hyuga Hideki was then officially adopted, and his first name changed to Ryusuke, in an attempt to fully distance him from his former family.
And so, Ryusuke grew up under the care of his adoptive parents, the middle child with an older brother and younger sister. All three were doted on and spoiled by their parents. They lived carefree, playing in the village and all around the surrounding forest. Eventually, Ryusuke’s older brother began training in Juken, and Ryusuke would occasionally peek through the doorway and watch, enamored by the graceful moves of the taijutsu style.
One of the only friends Ryusuke had outside of his clan was Hatake Mikan. The members of his clan saw Mikan as a bad influence on Ryusuke, as Mikan exacerbated Ryusuke’s already high energy and rambunctious nature. The clan members tried desperately to keep the two apart, but no matter how many times they separated the two, they couldn’t keep them from sneaking off and getting into trouble.
From an early age, he displayed an aptitude with the Byakugan, much to the approval of his clansmen. Finally, he began to listen to the older clansmen at least somewhat, although really only when what they said had to do with the Byakugan, and he would always take great delight in showing everyone whatever new trick he had just learned with it. Because of this aptitude, he started his training alongside his regular schooling a bit earlier than a member of the clan would normally, although it was mostly basic chakra pathway recognition, rather than any actual Juken yet. Again, he proved to be a fast learner, picking up knowledge as fast as it could be taught to him. By his eighth birthday, he had finished all the basic teachings on chakra flow and tenketsu, and he began his training proper, earning him no small amount of praise from his clan members.
Once his actual Juken training began, the amount of free time that Ryusuke had available to him decreased considerably, but he always made sure to make time to see his best friend Mikan. On one such occasion, about two months after Ryusuke had started his Juken training, they had ventured particularly far out from the village, into the dense woods surrounding it. Just as they were about to head back, Ryusuke noticed an old abandoned shack and pointed it out to Mikan. As the two approached the shack, they saw just how much disrepair it was in. The walls were largely rotted out, and the ceiling had fallen through in a few places. Ryusuke was initially hesitant to enter the shack, but Mikan managed to convince him that it would be find.
The inside of the house was in just as bad disrepair as the outside, if not worse. Hardly any of the boards that made up the second story floor were still in place, and the ones that remained were warped and gnarled by age and the elements. Seeing just how ravaged the inside of the shack was brought back Ryusuke’s earlier hesitation, and he voiced his misgivings to Mikan about the two of them staying in the shack any longer. Mikan assured Ryusuke once again that there was nothing to worry about, and that the shack was too cool to not stay just a little longer. Begrudgingly accepting, Ryusuke watched as Mikan climbed up to what remained of the second floor and made his way across the beams. When Mikan finally reached the other side of the rafters he was climbing on, Ryusuke let out the breath that he’d been holding in. Ryusuke asked one final time if they could just leave the house now before either of them got hurt and it was Mikan’s turn to begrudgingly accept. However, as Mikan retraced her path along the old rotted beams, one of them suddenly gave way. The collapse of the one beam proved enough to destabilize the entire rest of the rafters, causing the entire roof to cave in on itself. Luckily, Mikan was fortunate enough to come away from the fall with only a few cuts and scrapes. Ryusuke, however, was not as lucky, as an entire beam of the rafters had fallen on him, completely crushing his right arm and leg, keeping him pinned.
Mikan of course immediately ran to find help for her friend, but it took her a long time to find his way back due to how far they had ventured into the forest. By the time that Mikan actually managed to return with help, Ryusuke’s injuries had worsened to a point where the medical nin were only barely able to even keep him alive, as he had lost a significant amount of blood. At first, an effort was made to save his limbs, but when the beam was finally lifted off, it was clear that they had been completely destroyed by the enormous beam and were beyond repair. He was rushed back to the village hospital where both his right arm and leg were fully amputated.
After his recovery, he was fitted with a pair of prosthetic limbs to replace the ones he had lost. At first, his parents were hopeful that the artificial chakra network within the prostheses would prove sufficient for Ryusuke to continue his Juken training, but the artificial network was simply to primitive and crude. When he was finally told the news that he would no longer be able to continue his training, Ryusuke went a full month without speaking a single word. When he returned to his shinobi classes he simply sat in silence, passively taking in the lessons with no active engagement. Even after his self imposed muteness was over, he continued to become more and more isolated from his classmates, and eventually even his family. He began actively avoiding doing or saying things that would draw him attention, even going so far as to throw class competitions and intentionally lose first, second, or even third place.
Just as it seemed Ryusuke might never be happy again, a small bit of hope shone through. Ryusuke had started taking kenjutsu lessons at the academy, and it reawakened within him a passion within him that he hadn’t known existed. Although he still harbored his fear of any special attention, he couldn’t help himself from completely devoting his soul to the new art he had begun to learn. Together, along with his closest, and now only, friend Mikan, he began training daily, pouring everything he had into it, while still determinedly keeping his talent a secret from others. He kept up this training until now, while he still attends the academy, his graduation growing ever closer.
Character Development & Conceptualization
Although he went through a somewhat extensive reworking, the most basic main concept I had for Ryusuke throughout was a Hyuga who not only didn't know Juken, but who was definitively unable to learn it as well. In addition, I ended up shaping him into an unknowing deposed Heir, which makes for a lot of interesting character opportunities in the future, with his clans members, his parents, and even Katsuo since the Hatake were involved in the coup that killed Ryusuke's true parents.
Triple T's
Talents
Unassuming Nature: After such a long time of avoiding attention, Ryusuke has developed a special talent for avoiding any and all notoriety. He has painstakingly made sure never to stand out, never get first place, and always hide in the shadow of others more accomplished than him. He can easily blend into a crowd seamlessly and he is very difficult to spot in a densely populated area.
Kenjutsu: Ryusuke has a natural affinity for kenjutsu, and the art has fascinated him from a young age. His clanmates dismissed his interest as silly and childish, as no self respecting Hyuga, let alone the heir to the clan, would ever be caught using anything other than the clan’s signature Juken. However, after being told he would no longer be able to train in Juken, he began studying Kenjutsu at the academy. Although he immediately began showing a notable inborn skill for the art, he made painstakingly sure that his classmates and instructor never thought of his skill as more than “passable”. He trains every day with Katsuo in secret during the early morning hours, and it is the only thing which he has any amount of passion for. In particular, he has studied the Hatake style of Ittoryu, having been shown formally the aspects of the style, as well as having used his Byakugan to snoop on the experienced members of the clan, and observe their training to further expedite his own skill. While his partner Katsuo favors the defensive Form II, Ryusuke prefers the more offensive Form I.
High Chakra Control: Ryusuke has also inherited the innate high level of chakra control exhibited by members of his clan. Although still rather undeveloped from lack of proper specialized training, he still has a notably higher level of control when compared to his peers. He often has trouble hiding and suppressing this inborn talent, and there have been a few close calls with his classmates and his teacher.
Juken: Although Ryusuke has very very rudimentary knowledge of Juken, his training in it had only just begun when he had his accident and was unable to further develop. As such, he struggles to perform even basic Juken techniques, and is even further handicapped by the lack of natural chakra flow through his artificial limbs.
Byakugan: While Ryusuke’s skill with Juken might be absolutely pitiful, he still has a notable amount of skill with his clan’s signature dojutsu. Currently the maximum range that he can muster with his Byakugan is sixty meters.
Shadow of the Dancing Leaf (currently, Ryusuke is able to perform this jutsu only because of the added kicking strength of his prosthetic leg)
D-Rank:
Cross Split - A basic kenjutsu technique involving two diagonal slashes in quick succession, one downwards followed by one upwards.
Prelude - a rudementary iaido technique which utilizes the momentum created by drawing the sword at high speed to deliver a swift upward slash.
Miscs
Equipment
Zantetsu: One of the less than half a dozen full length swords ever owned by the Hyuga clan. It was given to Ryusuke by his parents as consolation, after he had been told he would never be able to learn Juken.
Ryusuke became ambidextrous due to not having use of a right arm for an extended period during his recovery after his amputations
This is like 90% done so I figured I'd at least post the WIP here

The two already had a young son of three, and were expecting another child soon.
One of the only friends Ryusuke had outside of his clan was Hatake Katsuo. The members of his clan saw Katsuo as a bad influence on Ryusuke, as Katsuo exacerbated Ryusuke’s already high energy and rambunctious nature.
Once his actual Juken training began, the amount of free time that Ryusuke had available to him decreased considerably, but he always made sure to make time to see his best friend Katsuo. On one such occasion, about two months after Ryusuke had started his Juken training, they had ventured particularly far out from the village, into the dense woods surrounding it. Just as they were about to head back, Ryusuke noticed an old abandoned shack and pointed it out to Katsuo. As the two approached the shack, they saw just how much disrepair it was in. The walls were largely rotted out, and the ceiling had fallen through in a few places. Ryusuke was initially hesitant to enter the shack, but Katsuo managed to convince him that it would be find.
The inside of the house was in just as bad disrepair as the outside, if not worse. Hardly any of the boards that made up the second story floor were still in place, and the ones that remained were warped and gnarled by age and the elements. Seeing just how ravaged the inside of the shack was brought back Ryusuke’s earlier hesitation, and he voiced his misgivings to Katsuo about the two of them staying in the shack any longer. Katsuo assured Ryusuke once again that there was nothing to worry about, and that the shack was too cool to not stay just a little longer. Begrudgingly accepting, Ryusuke watched as Katsuo climbed up to what remained of the second floor and made his way across the beams. When Katsuo finally reached the other side of the rafters he was climbing on, Ryusuke let out the breath that he’d been holding in. Ryusuke asked one final time if they could just leave the house now before either of them got hurt and it was Katsuo’s turn to begrudgingly accept. However, as Katsuo retraced his path along the old rotted beams, one of them suddenly gave way. The collapse of the one beam proved enough to destabilize the entire rest of the rafters, causing the entire roof to cave in on itself. Luckily, Katsuo was fortunate enough to come away from the fall with only a few cuts and scrapes. Ryusuke, however, was not as lucky, as an entire beam of the rafters had fallen on him, completely crushing his right arm and leg, keeping him pinned.
Katsuo of course immediately ran to find help for his friend, but it took him a long time to find his way back due to how far they had ventured into the forest. By the time that Katsuo actually managed to return with help, Ryusuke’s injuries had worsened to a point where the medical nin were only barely able to even keep him alive, as he had lost a significant amount of blood.
Together, along with his closest, and now only, friend Katsuo, he began training daily, pouring everything he had into it, while still determinedly keeping his talent a secret from others.
He trains every day in secret during the early morning hours, and it is the only thing which he has any amount of passion for.
Currently the maximum range that he can muster with his Byakugan is seventy five meters.
Before the crew had begun its ascent of Reverse Mountain, Ryu had perched himself up in the crow’s nest of the Cradle Princess in order to get the best view of the landscape below as it passed by. It was also somewhere out of the way, which meant there was little chance of anyone telling him to do anything. Ryu held no illusions about how dangerous it was to enter the Grand Line via Reverse Mountain. Living in Loguetown, he’d seen countless crews on every kind of ship attempt the crossing, only to come back with a crippled ship (or in many cases no ship at all). However, none of this caused the slightest bit of hesitation for him. The only way for him to achieve true strength was on the Grand Line, and this was the only way to get there for anyone other than the Navy. If he died now, then he simply wasn’t strong enough to weather the Grand Line. As the Cradle Princess crested over the peak of Reverse Mountain, the entire landscape below unfolded. From where he sat perched in the crow’s nest, Ryu could see for miles in every direction, and the view could only be described as breathtaking. The ship seemed to hang in the air for a moment before it’s course shifted downwards as it reached the apex of its flight through the air. Ryu could already tell that the ship wouldn’t survive landing in the water below. The ship was already as good as destroyed from the beating it took just scaling Reverse Mountain, and even the wind rushing past was almost enough to tear it to pieces. It plummeted through the air continuing to gain speed right up until it slammed into the sea below. Because he had been perched up in the crow’s nest, Ryu was flung from the ship with a bit more horizontal momentum than the rest of the crew. As he flew through the air, he knew that if he didn’t land properly, he could easily permanently lose the use of his legs, or even his life. Despite the fact that he was possibly plummeting to his death, Ryu couldn’t help but smile. This thrill, this danger, this was what he lived with. Moments like these proved that he was alive. He removed one of his swords from where he had slung them over his shoulder, leaving it in the saya, and positioned it with the end just below his feet. The end of the saya hit the water just before he did, breaking the surface and allowing him to escape any serious injury. He would definitely have some bruises at the end of the day, but he hadn’t sustained anything serious. After taking a moment to sling his sword back over his shoulder, Ryu swam upwards back to the surface of the ocean. He then began to swim towards Twin Capes, moving at a relaxed pace. When he eventually reached the shore, he took a few seconds to stretch before turning to face the ocean again and sitting on the shore to wait for the rest of the crew.
