Got my new sci-fi mecha RP up. Put a lot of work into the background of this one, and wrote out a whole setting

Cambozola is definitely A-Tier. It combines all the best parts of Brie with Blue Cheese, what's not to like.

Guess the mecha RP idea wasn't as popular or as interesting as I hoped it might be. Not much in the way of bites on that one so far, sadly

Bio

I've been roleplaying in one form or another since the late '90's. I've played as many tabletop games as I have online ones, and the quality of both has varied wildly.
I have an active imagination, and I love immersive, descriptive roleplaying. My genres of choice are sci-fi, and modern-day (with a sci-fi twist). I like RP's that mix reality with fiction, and throw an unusual and exciting twist into an otherwise normal setting - something like Stargate SG-1 would be an example, or Battle: Los Angeles. An almost recognizable world, but with some sci-fi twists.
I'm a fan of military and action-based RP's that do this especially, and they are easily my favourite - though I rarely see any that appeal to me enough - all the military RP's are too 'plain', and anything else modern day is usually fantasy or fandom.
I have a lot of fandoms, but I don't really like fandom RP's - or at least, the ones that come up. I often find them a bit lacking in ideas, or too far away from what actually makes the thing I'm a fan of enjoyable.

I don't play in free, as I find the short posts and bad spelling and grammar infuriating.

I'm 43 years old, and live in the UK, so I may not be on all the time.
I also like playing non-human characters, especially anthro ones. I dig giant robots, and I love military aircraft. I'm also a very dedicated and proud Brony and furry.

Cat grinned and gave a nod of agreement to Max's comment; this definitely was a welcome break. After the last few months of frantic action, twists and turns of conspiracies and mortal injuries, it was a much-needed moment that had none of those things, just a simple, peaceful reminder that there were other aspects to life and society than horrible people doing miserable things to each other, and living with stress, pressure and secrecy as the normal day-to-day. The huge bovine gave a relaxed sigh and stretched back, supporting herself on her elbows and stretching out her legs, looking up at the sky and letting the sun warm through her fur and hair.
"It's nice to just be lazy," she commented to Max and Anna after a few moments, without looking to either of them. "I needed a moment like this, and I hope we don't have to wait too long for another one".
Silver waded out of the water and made his way back up the beach to the group, shaking his fur out en route; the saltwater would dry his fur out fairly raggedly too. But there'd be time to shower before they embarked on the mission and he had to change into his pilot gear.
He sat down on the side alongside the others, smiling over. "That was... refreshing," he said with a chuckle. "Can see why ya did the jump in, too," he commented to Max, as he sat with his elbows resting on his knees and let the sun dry out the rest of his fur, and enjoying the peace and quiet. The same thoughts that Max and Cat had discussed wove their way through his mind too; the peace and quiet was there to be enjoyed, and the moment was a breather from the bouncing from mission to mission of the normal daily routine of his life. How long since the last proper break? Even this was a snatched moment between other things. The thought was a wince-worthy sting, and the silver fox resolved that soon, as soon as he was able, there'd be time for himself.
I haven't picked anything specific yet, but I'll come up with something shortly
I'm back home now, so will try to get something up tomorrow - will be good to get back into it after a little break. Was nice to visit my folks and see the old home grounds again. Gave me a bit of a jazz up I needed to get back into things.
I'm back home now, so keen and ready to keep things going!

Sassa looks brilliant; I really like the sound of her so far. Also I love the Viggen, so that's an extra point in her favour too. I was lucky enough to see the only on in display in the UK a couple of years ago, at Newark air museum in the Midlands.
Feel free to add her to the characters tab. As that's three characters ready to roll (fly?) I'll start working up a first mission and first post, with the aim to getting it up on Saturday or Sunday!

Have been away visiting my folks, so not in a position to post - going back home today, so I'll get a post up later today
No problem, I've been away visiting family myself.
Yeah, it's entirely possible that our characters may well have heard of one another by reputation or have met in various ways, such as exchange programs or having flown alongside one another on joint ops, or some other way. Just check with the player so that it makes sense from both sides if you want them to have met
Excellent, well in that case, I'll be more than glad to have you with us.
Definitely still happening, and could certainly use more players and participants.
As far as post size goes, and level of detail, at least a paragraph with some level of descriptive detail and insight would be appreciated, and some effort at a good level of spelling/grammar. Not to mention keeping it consistent with what's actually happening in the RP...
As long as it's not shitposting speed-posting one-liners with not detail at all, or just random stuff that doesn't seem to have any connection to anything else or any logic to it, then I'm sure it'll be fine. And actually writing in prose-style rather than the:
*waves hello*
Hello
Style of writing.
Jesha listened attentively as the mission was explained. It was straightforward, as far as objectives went; practical and understandable in its' goals: kick the doors down, take the stuff. And the added bonus of flipping off the Empire by doing it, too.
At the mention of commandoes, she gave a slow nod and her ears flicked in thought. When the time for questions came, the Shistavanen raised a hand.
"Sir, regarding the commandoes; am I to transport them into action aboard the U-Wing?"
It seemed like the logical option to her, but she wasn't certain - hence the question of course. If it wasn't the case, then she'd presume her craft would be used in another fashion. While it was armed, it wasn't strictly a fighter. Whatever the case, she'd throw herself into the action with all she could.
Excellent, well in that case, once Rapid's character is up and completed I'll get things rolling
