If you know what Dissidia is we're set. We're just taking the story from the games, except we can use any FF game we want to here. Whose interested?

Here's what it says.
It's probably that the particular person that said that to you didn't agree with your portrayal of a female character. I've always been of the belief I can write any type of character if I try, I just like to stick to a certain type, namely men. It's just what I'm comfortable with.

How does one even unrealistically portray a human being, anyway? women are people, after all. Maybe the person who said that, in actuality, didn't like your writing style, and attributed that to your character and by extension her gender. There are a number of factors to consider.

If you really are super competent in how a female sees things as you claim, and have even been role playing female characters your entire life, can you really ask for tips on how it's done? I realize you're embarrassed (as you said) to just talk to the person, but in all honesty I would really stop and consider the legitimacy of the claim being made. Even if you somehow have some writing issues you're unaware of, how would that be attributed to the type of character you role play as? it wouldn't. If that is the issue, just try improving your writing skills.
@Shin

Gene went at ease when he heard it was acceptable to do so. Gene didn't really agree that Seves was *JUST* a pilot like himself. For one thing, the man had to be a few years older then Gene was, and so had far more combat experience then anyone here combined, but most important of all the man was still Gene's commanding officer. He kept that to himself though, figuring Charles had some issue Gene wouldn't understand anyway.

Gene watched his comrades one by one pour into the briefing room after a few moments. When prompted if they had any questions, Gene spoke up, thinking of something. "Sir, you've been serving for several years now. Could you give us some tactical advice?" Gene asked.
@Shin Okay, edited. Gene has just entered the briefing room, so.
Alright, my post is up. Shin, this requires your response as you're controlling the base staff and Gene is requesting permission to land.
He had been waiting for this day. This was the day that would give meaning to his life. Finally, he'd meet his comrades, his commanding officer, and his campaign against the enemy would begin.

Gene flew his M-09 towards the Air Base within viewing distance, then stopped. He hadn't been cleared to land yet. It was important protocol was observed, so he established connection with the Air Base's Control and spoke.

"Courier Field Air Base Control, this is 20002 transferring from the United States of Norn. Requesting permission to land." Gene kept his response within protocol yet Kurt. Small talk with Control was inadvisable as most likely they would have to clear Gene's other comrades for landing as well. It would've been irresponsible to hold up workflow.

Efficiency in the military was key, and observing protocol taught soldiers much needed discipline. Gene waited patiently but anxiously for the response, knowing it would come in just a moment.

"Roger that 20002, you are cleared for landing." The response was equally Kurt. "Understood." Gene replied. Gene set down his M-09 and exited the mech. "Soldier, your briefing will begin soon, however entering early is not unadvised. The briefing room is that way." One of the base staff came to greet him. pointing out the way to the briefing room.

Gene saluted. "Understood. May I request for a drink of water? my throat is parched." Gene said, saluting. "Request granted, soldier." the staff member handed over a bottle of water. Gene took it, opened it, and took one long, controlled sip. Gene handed it back and the staff member saluted, and then left.

Gene immediately made his way towards the briefing room, opening the door and entering inside. He walked inside and spotted a single man with two soldiers by his side. Gene assumed this man was his commanding officer and he formed a salute. "Sir! ID number 20002, Callsign Wolf, real name Gene, reporting for duty!"
'Evening, happy Friday! Folks, I've got some bad news, my Internet's out for the next few days, but the show must go on! The RP will start on Sunday or Monday, as planned, I'll do anything to get it done and started.

In the meantime, I'm curious, did anyone have a particular inspiration in mind when writing their character? Any particular franchise, or even music, maybe art?

I was thinking of Sousuke Sagara and Heero Yuy when designing my characters personality. My character is different enough to not immediately fall into a stoic soldier archetype, but that's what I was thinking of when writing my character. Gene differentiates because he's not a stoic, but just one-track minded and not very interested in other things.

Heero had friends and so did Sousuke, but my character can't really make a connection with others as a result of no real shared experiences with others because of his memory loss.
@Shin

I added an extra 0 to my characters identification number, because it was 2002 before which isn't 5 digits. So now it's 20002.
