Alisdair

Alisdair smiled as the woman came rushing up, he was already winning this little game of his, little did she know that she was playing into it herself. She spoke with an accent that sounded old, and the word she used was unfamiliar, Teuanyolki, it wasn't a language he was familiar with and was glad as she expanded, but sadly she would be mistaken. She believes him to be of some kinship with her people, but the Scholars are decidedly not of her descendant path, no, but the odd similarity between them was still something he wished to explore, just as she apparently did as she, as his hand was pulled toward her and she studied the charms on his hand.

"A charm for flight, crafted by a Scholar. I believe you have me mistaken, we are of no blood, I am one of the Scholars of the City, here to assist as needed." His coal black eyes seemingly fixed on the woman, yet his face stoic as stone, like many of the Scholars. Among the many charms he had a feather of gold and red, a lizard scale, and a strange fang.

Alisdair took back his hand and covered the charms, not to give her too much that she would lose interest too soon, he wanted to learn what she had to offer in terms of skills, but he wanted to make her tell him, not ask outright, they always tell more when they want to talk. "I am surprised to honestly be mistaken for anything but a Scholar, how refreshing, if you would like to a charm like these I can provide, though Scholars tend to be the only ones capable of utilizing them." he hoped that the veiled challenge would provoke the woman into either explaining herself and the assumed connection or cause a reaction to where she felt the need to display her own power.

Milo Ventri

Milo nodded, the race had started pretty early and his sense of time had been messed up from the whole mess. "No worries, I'll run you to your car, you get cleaned up and meet me there." Milo was pulling the rounds out of the revolver as he spoke and after he had stashed them away he grabbed his keys, the whole mess was a blur now, a memory already fading into the future prospects, he could only imagine what he was going to have as his life from now on, he knew that likely he was not going to get away from this for long, but for now, he was free.

"Honestly, when I saw you at that winter ball downtown, I was sure you were only going to make things worse." Milo said as they made their way to his truck and got in. "But, I'm glad it turned out, and as much as it hurts me to say it, I owe you one, a big one." Milo was grinning ear to ear, it didn't really matter what kind of favor she would ask of him in the future, she gave him his first breath since he started drowning in Sol. He dropped Paige off at her car and looked over, "Just meet me there in like an hour, if you change your mind, no worries, you got my number when you want to call that favor in."

Milo returned to his shop and as soon as he was in the door, he locked the shop and hopped in the shower, the water and soap stinging all of the new wounds that he seemed to be collecting. They always say that you do most of your thinking in the shower well, Milo was no exception and one thought really stuck out. God this has been fun. the past few days, they have been an adrenaline filled whirlwind, Paige and him rolling through criminal intrigue like a dervish, the two of them never really did this much together even in Delta, Ana always seemed to be the buffer there. Milo got out of the shower and looked through his closet, he pulled out a nice black button down and black slacks, mostly so that if blood got through his bandages it would be harder to tell, and got his hair and beard back into order, he actually felt like he looked rather dashing. After getting dressed he picked up some cash and left, he thought to himself for just a moment, that he did really hope that she would show, not just so he could thank her for the help, but really cause it has been nice to have an old friend back, a piece that brings the man he was and the man he is a little closer together. He arrived at the restaurant and was seated, luckily the race had a good effect on not filling restaurants that don't play sports. He sat and ordered a bottle of sake for the hell of it, hot drinks weren't his favorite but whatever.

Ash Ventri

Ash looked on as the man appeared before them and began to demonstrate a mastery of magic that he had never seen before, the man introduced himself as Arkan, the headmaster of the academy, by the way he spoke, he praised some and scolded others, though luckily Ash had stayed out of sight. Ash let his plates dissipate before being teleported to the main island, where he was told that he would be sharing a room with the small girl Red, whom he had met earlier, he merely nodded at the statement and was actually quite happy to be told about having a free day to look around before thing get out of hand.

Ash stood looking at his key and then smiled as he quietly began to slip away, he figured if he could get to his room ahead of Red he would be able to get his stuff settled before he had to more small talk, after which he had actually hoped that he could get a run in and possibly practice a little of site, he didn't want to use the training room just yet, the idea of being challenged to spar didn't sit well, especially after what they did to Sekhemi.

Milo Ventri

Milo watched as all of the officers came in and took Jackie away, he overheard a lot of conversations but the one that got him a bit riled was the suit talking to Paige, he must find Milo pretty funny, calling him Aragorn like that, not like Milo faced down a mobster with nothing more than the sword. Milo however kept it all to himself, no need to draw attention to himself, it wasn't like he was squeaky clean at the end of all this anyway, there was still a stockpile of cash in the back bedroom from illegal gun sales as well as his own involvement. The suits all dragged away Jackie and left him and Paige alone in the now quiet shop, Paige stepped away and dug out Milo's first aid kit, and a spoon, he could see where this was going and was already not happy about it.

Milo grabbed the glass and threw it back, downing the contents, then grabbed the spoon. "Let's just get this over with." Milo bit down on the spoon, took the bottle and splashed a bit on the wound, he contemplated, as the burning sensation reminded him of the gunshot, why it was that he couldn't for the life of him get out of a single week without burning, cutting or otherwise injuring himself. As Paige finished stitching up the wound Milo let the spoon drop, "Dear God, I hope it looks better than it felt." Milo stood and looked it over, it looked pretty good, not a bad job, much better than he does after drinking. "Well this has been a day, I don't know about you but I am hungry now." Milo looked at his shirt and at Paige, both of them had blood on them. "I don't know about you, but I need to get cleaned up. Think I might hit up that nice Japanese place downtown before that race lets up." Milo wiped away some of the blood and smiled a bit. "Despite it all things went well, congrats on bringing in a big fish." Milo was actually happy about it, even though he wasn't out of the woods himself, he had a good feeling that at least he was making the kind of change in his life he wanted, and this time it was thanks to Paige, he really owed her one. "Hey look, I appreciate you helping me with all this, if you want, meet me at the restaurant and I treat you, alright?"

Milo stood and pulled the revolver from under the table, as it came into view of everyone, Jackie began to lower his gun, and set it on the table. "So, that's where that got off to, my guy in the department couldn't find that." Jackie chuckled a bit, "A marshal stealing evidence, that's pretty ballsy. Not as ballsy as this though Milo, ratting me out, setting me up, you're a dead man, you and sheriff Barbie here."

Milo walked slowly around the table and used the pommel of his sword to slide Jackie's gun further away before bringing it back around to slam into the center of Jackie's chest. Jackie crumpled instantly to the ground and Milo stood over him. "I wanted to do that for a while. You couldn't handle her if you tried Jackie, besides, she is the only thing stopping me from beating you bloody for the whole shooting me thing." Milo stepped back from him and checked his arm, it was only a graze but it was bleeding pretty good, got a bit more meat than was probably good, "Go ahead, do your cop thing, I'm probably gonna have to hit an urgent care or something to stitch this. I can't see it." Milo grabbed a nearby scrap of cloth and tried to staunch the bleeding.

Ash Ventri

Ash tried to hide his nervousness from the other wolf, she didn't seem to yet be aggressive, however, that didn't mean much to him, he was going to respond to her comments before the madness around them began to erupt further, the man on the elephant was attacked by a skeletal monstrosity, and assailed by others, yes, he seemed to be the unpleasant sort however the responses to him seemed unnecessary, at least until he began to truly threaten everyone, their families, then he passed out, this was already more than he had bargained for and culd feel his fear and panic pull him back to the forest.

"Don't worry, everything will be fine." His mothers voice rang clear in his mind, and the thought of home pressed itself forward, he stood in the doorway of his home with his parents smiling, "This will be a hard learned lesson, but, you will come to enjoy yourself, and you will learn so much." his mother was kind and sweet, a witch of great strength, she had told him of the fun and the mischief that goes on at a place like this. His father lead him out of the house and just as they reached the point where they would separate he told him, "Fear will always exist, you will never stop feeling it, but listen well Ash, you will have to stand against fear to protect what is dear to you, and you won't find those experiences here, go on son, take the world as it is or make it better, it won't change until you make it."

Ash saw as red hid beneath her pile of papers, others seemed to be visibly shaken as well, and as much as he wanted to run, his father was right, he had to stand up or he will always run. Ash let his breath out and felt the plates grow and shift until his entire form had become encased in the bone like plates, he felt his energy build in his hands and feet, preparing for whatever altercations may come, at the worst he would run, but his family wants him at this school and no amount of insane myths turned reality would stop that.

Bio/Personality: Ana grew up in Delta city alongside her best friend Paige, her family were kind and loving, they doted on their daughter and gave her the world, they however were not the richest family around and so her mother made sure that her daughter knew the basics of sewing and cooking, that way she could always take care of herself, however when she decided to learn to fence as a child, they were of course apprehensive at first but ultimately relented. Ana became quite skilled in swordplay and became the State champion in high school. Ana of course continued and became involved in a lot of recreation activities, medieval, civil war, whatever was around, she made the costumes, and fought the fights, and in a tournament in Northern Florida, she competed in the fencing matches, and met a man in the Longsword division, Milo, the two hit it off and soon were inseparable, they traveled the states and competed in tournaments and participated in reenactments, and generally had fun, at least until a drunk driver ran over her boyfriend, Milo was seriously injured, and it left him in a terrible place, Ana did all she could to help him, she wanted him to lean on her but he was so depressed that he couldn't even look at her in the eye let alone ask for help. Ana tried her best until Milo started to go from sadness to anger, he would shout and yell at everyone, he would lock himself away in his room and break anything around him, the last straw for her however was Milo had an outburst and tore up most of their apartment at the time including many of her own sentimental possessions, he wasn't the man he used to be, she knew that it wasn't right, that the person she knew was still there, however she could be there like that, so she took the advice of her best friend Paige and left, She hoped that the shock might snap him out of it, but she let him go too long and eventually both Paige and Milo were gone, Paige to Sol and Milo to the wind, not even his Family knew. She was the heartbroken one now, the man she loved was gone and so was her best friend, maybe she should move to Sol.

Ash Ventri

Ash looked from one startling sight to the next, a spirit being ripped from a werewolf, a girl riding snakes, a man on an elephant, the notion that any of this was not confusing only confused him more as the young girl named Red questioned his current status. In his time at home with his adoptive family, he had only seen a few magical folk, a few mages and a handful of others, but the sheer number of people was overwhelming to someone unaccustomed to the crowd. Ash could feel the noise and the hectic nature of this gathering weigh down on him and again the plates formed as one of the other arrivals began to use his ability Ash felt his plates cover his hands and forearms, now covered in the chitinous plating he felt as though he was going to be attacked at any point, whether by the condescending man on the elephant or, in his mind, by the wolf in front of him.

"This is utter madness, why have I even come here?" The panic in his voice was palpable and magical tension around him surged as he prepared to either fight or run, "What world could you live in that this isn't confusing and mad?" Ash looked to all of the people around now, he was to close to the center of attention as the wolf that had been possessed had pulled a lot of it his way.
