Daria didn't get much more out of the speech than the lady she served - her ears twitched constantly while they were in the crowd, trying to zero in on individual sounds as they appeared. They listened briefly to the flutter of bug-like wings from a nearby tree. They darted to hear a spark of electricity fly from an elemental. They tried to identify a thousand sounds and the various threats and weren't successful at identifying every sound - or hearing the majority of the speech.
For a couple of seconds, Daria didn't respond as Eliyen kept glancing towards the stage in some hope of catching a glimpse of the secretary. Daria's tail swished behind her aggressively as she folded her arms and looked away in an attempt to hide an emotion - whatever it was - that seemed to always well in her chest when Eliyen paid more attention to something more fluffy than herself.
"Hmph. I'm not exactly sure how you intend on graduating if you're chasing every fluffy pair of ears in sight - or how I can keep you safe.."She supposed it was time to answer her owner's question though - she didn't want to be too harsh to her fragile mistress.
"Didn't they give you some sort of handout? We should probably go wherever that suggests, princess ... Seems like everyone is splitting up and out of here." Daria tried to smile at Eliyen, but her eyes constantly darted around trying to search each person for any semblance of ill intent.
