Mahou Shoujo no Hex Night: A Magical Girl Battle RP

"...Come on now how am I first?"

Himeko sighed to herself when she came to a stop, perched perfectly atop a lamppost and watching the gruesome Shade slither around. This would be a little... annoying. From a quick assessment, the fox figured that this Shade was decently powerful, at least to the point that Himeko wasn't comfortable with a head-on battle in her current form. She'd want at least three or four tails to take on a monster of this size. Too bad she didn't have half an hour to spare.

Well, she could always play cat and mouse until someone more specialised in eradication popped up.

Preparing herself for a bothersome delaying tactic, Himeko's ears suddenly twitched, and barely a second later, multiple lasers slammed into the dark creature, devastating it and the tainted ground it stood upon. For a moment, the shrine maiden was frozen, trying to process such speedy destruction. Slowly, Himeko swept her gaze around the park and sky, finally spotting a strange figure that Himeko hadn't seen before, yet felt so strangely familiar.

Who is she...? That's a lot of power packed into that bombardment. It probably far exceeded Himeko's own output with all nine tails... well, she could place a name later. The backup she wanted had finally shown up. Rising into the air, Himeko elegantly glided closer to the mirror-wielding girl, her friendly smile returning.

"Yay, my shining knight~! Thanks for the help, you've made my job 99% easier~! ...Well, at this point, anything I throw at Scuttles down there is a tad redundant, isn't it~?"

So as said, Hakuno will be paired with Benienma, and Guan's going to be pairing with @Dblade26's character Mamoru.

• Name: Kishinami Hakuno
• Age: 17
• Appearance: Just look at how plain she is!
• Personality:
  A friendly girl with a habit of not really leaving much of an impression, despite her efforts at times. Although tending towards being quiet and keeping to herself, Hakuno is always willing to lend a hand to others. This has led to her being a bit of a doormat when she was younger, however, and has been trying to change that part of herself. It's extremely difficult however - who wouldn't want to help out a fellow student had definitely skipped homework for super important reasons?!
  
  Hakuno's tendency to help in any capacity she can seems to stem from her lack of self-worth; as a mage, she falls far below the standards of her family, who were already middling to begin with. While she tries not to pay it too much mind, any setbacks to her progress can hit her pretty hard, and perhaps lead to over-zealousness. At least her time in Fusang seems to have awakened a passion for policing the streets.

• Abilities:
  Element: Air - Like most of her family, Hakuno has an affinity for the Air element. Unlike most of her family, she isn't too well-versed in anything but the most basic of spells. Fortunately(-ish), her family's true specialisation hasn't escaped her grasp.
  Invoked Censor - This ability is a masking spell, of sorts. It doesn't make her invisible, just so thoroughly unremarkable and forgettable that you subconsciously erase her face from memory immediately after seeing her. This effect only strengthens in larger crowds, though Hakuno lacks the skill and expertise to properly combat any spying tactics that could see through her spell. Stronger magi could also potentially see through the trickery in a short amount of time, as well.

• History:
  As a magus, Hakuno was quite the disappointment when growing up. Her abilities were severely lacking in almost all areas, and progress was slow at best in regards to development. When she was fourteen, it was decided she'd be sent to Fusang for 'higher-quality tutelage'... Hakuno knew it was just a desperate bid to get some use out of her abilities as a magus. It was rather fortunate she had the aptitude to be a Master after all, and during her time in the city, has been able to find interests outside of fruitless training in magecraft, to the point she's become a volunteer enforcer. A duty she takes seriously enough to practice Justice Poses before a mirror in secrecy.

• Other: No weird memory disease shenanigans going on here. Maybe.

Himeko cheerfully waved away her two companions, who thankfully left without a fuss. It shouldn't take too long to close in on the source of discomfort, once she had a chance to transform. After ensuring the two were definitely out of sight, Himeko turned and proceeded towards her supposed destination. After finding a nice, empty side-street to duck into, and casting one more glance in front and behind, Himeko began her transformation.

A brilliant flash of light emanated from her body, clothing fading into apparent oblivion, instantly replaced by what appeared to be a modified shrine maiden's outfit. Her shoulder-length hair lengthened, cascading down to Himeko's knees in a beautiful mixture of orange and yellow, with two pointed, fluffy ears sprouting from her head. A thick, soft tail formed as well, and when the light faded as instantly as it had appeared, the shrine maiden had become a fox-eared magical girl, sleeves practically sailing majestically as she raised a hand.

What appeared to be a tobacco pipe formed in her open palm, quickly nestled between her fingers, the bespectacled fox smirking playfully. She had long since gotten used to the sensation of having such twitchy ears, and a fluffy tail to wave around at her leisure, not to mention the thrill of having such energy at her command.

With a little application of glamour magic, Himeko leaped to the nearest rooftop, unseen by normal folk. It was a basic cloaking spell that worked well enough to hide her from the public, but magical girls could easily see the distortion of air around Himeko, so it wasn't the best stealth tool. At least it meant she could travel, unhindered by prying eyes.

She could feel the nauseating pull of the Shade still. Himeko would have been very surprised if no one else had reached it first, but it never hurt to overkill these things a little, did it? The fox-eared miko leaped from her perch, sailing through the air towards that monster.

Berserker

• Name: "Guan Yu" (Lady Guan)
• Class: Berserker
• Appearance: Guan in casual wear
• Personality: In what is perhaps rather unexpected for someone claiming to be Guan Yu, Berserker is rather soft-spoken and kindly, a far cry from the thundering war god (s)he should be. Her nature is charitable and accommodating, always happy to help out with a smile. Her demeanour is generally upbeat, doing her best not to look down, especially in front of her Master. Although she finds it to be improper conduct, she is also a *huge* martial arts fan. If she could, she would get the personification of martial arts itself to sign her an autograph.
  
  Thanks to her manifestation as a Berserker, however, her normally reserved anger is quicker to boil to the surface, especially if one lightly broaches the subject of her father. It is recommended to not bring him up at all, even in sympathy - it may surface a memory that will end in a rampage and costly repairs to the neighbourhood.
  That said, she is a proud daughter of the mighty warrior, and a slight against any of her family will not be allowed to slide. She does not consider herself much of a warrior, but Lady Guan will gladly fight for their sake, or her Master's.

• Innocent Monster - E: As the origin of the myth regarding Guan Yu's vengeful spirit, minor alterations occur under specific conditions. When Lady Guan is truly angered, her surrounding air chills, layers of frost covering her armour and icy spikes protruding from it. This also happens to strengthen her Noble Phantasm, given the change in temperature in her immediate vicinity.
• Battle Continuation - D: Being the 'vengeful spirit' of Guan Yu, Berserker is able to ignore serious injuries in battle, but is only active when under the effect of Mad Enhancement.

• Noble Phantasm(s):
• Name: Frost Fair Blade ~ Blood Soaked Green Dragon
• Rank: C
• Type: Anti-Unit
• Appearance: The guandao's base appearance. When manifested as the Frost Fair Blade, it can no longer rapidly grow scales due to its new frozen properties. The weapon is also coated in blood due to the frost.
• Effects: The frosty blade of the guandao will actively seek blood to soak within, increasing in power as more is splattered upon the weapon. Once enough blood has accrued, invoking the weapon's name will allow Guan to manipulate that blood - lancing towards an enemy, the blood freezing almost instantaneously, creating any icy spear that can approach terrifying range. Alternatively, Guan can have the blood shoot off in random directions all around her, the frozen blood slicing through objects and enemies all around her. Once this effect is used, more blood must be spilled to 'refuel'.
  Additionally, the blade becomes stronger in colder environments, even capable of striking unlucky foes down with frostbite. It still retains its weakness to dragonslayers, unfortunately.

• Rank: A
• Type: Anti-Unit (self)
• Appearance: A steel helmet similar to what was available to generals at the time, with an additional steel mask that obscure her upper face. When donning this helmet, Guan's hair is also worn to flow from the lower half of the helmet, tied be neath her chin to simulate a beard.
• Effects: A helmet that obscures Lady Guan's features, making others see her as the imposing, powerful "Guan Yu", or at least as a terrifyingly powerful individual, if they have not yet recognised her 'true name'. Even though discrepancies can be observed, attempts to perceive the truth will only lead to rationalising Lady Guan as the genuine article. This applies even when her 'real' identity is already known.

• Alignment: Lawful Good
• Changes: Lady Guan is a bit of an odd case, as she doesn't fully qualify by herself to be a servant, and instead piggybacks off of Guan Yu's own summoning in very rare cases. As the source of the myth behind Yu's spirit appearing before, or even killing soldiers of the Wu kingdom, she can manifest in his place as Berserker. As her true name has been lost to history however, she is effectively "Guan Yu" for all intents and purposes, though she doesn't mind being given a new name by her Master.

"Sure do!" Himeko confirmed brightly, "well, the living quarters are round the back, but close enough. D'ya need to go now, or..."

Himeko trailed off when she felt a strange sensation in her chest. It was brief, but unmistakable - a Shade was present somewhere.
Given the number of Magical Girls that were here, or would be given the Hex Night, Himeko probably didn't need to go rushing off into battle. Direct combat wasn't her forte, anyway. The shrine maiden was still a magical girl, however. It was irresponsible to just assume someone else would fix the problem!

She would need to extricate herself from present company, however.

"Ah, right, this talk of exploding washing machines just reminded me! I was supposed to be running errands in town!" Himeko made a convincing show of being hit with a sudden memory. With an apologetic smile, she clapped her hands together, turning towards Nico, "Sorry to run, but I better get this done before I get excommunicated! Mind showing my new little sis the way home?"
