Current I just can't. This is too much. Berserk was so influential on so many things that I love. Goodbye, Miura. You'll be missed by many.

Bio

Hello! Welcome to my little bio.

Not much to say, really. Just a horror game protag that likes writing and playing vidya games when I'm not being chased by the cosmic forces of darkness. (I'm a security guard that works night shifts usually).

Have some dancing medjed.

I got caught up in the wording where you implied you could change sounds somehow, while in actuality, you're just creating general shockwaves. To call it sound is a bit of a misnomer, in my opinion.

I think laying out the exact science behind a power is the exact wrong way to go about it, though, because if we go into the technicality of how it physically happens, then it becomes a bit too grounded in reality for my taste. Try tweaking it a bit so it's not so scienc-ey.

(Also I might be off-base on some of this- if I'm wrong, apologies. Also apologies if I missed the point entirely. I am not smart cookie.)

Nah, I think you got it right. Now that I had a chance to think about it, I think that sounds pretty much what I was going for in a general sense. Sorry about the science thing. I do have a tendency to do that with stuff, hah.

I'll get to rewording it soon with that in mind, and if that still don't work I'll think about doing something else.
The way I understand it, what humans perceive is sound is a result of a pressure wave - whether audible or not to the human ear. That pressure wave then creates vibrations as it travels through a medium, thus disturbing it and creating those vibrations. Those vibrations are then translated as 'Sound'. As an example, a Sonic Boom travels at different speeds and sounds vastly different in air than it would in water, which is the result of the pressure wave moving through a different medium.

If that's not how it works then welp, everything I know is a lie and that's how I've always been using this sort of power in my like, ten plus years of RPing and boy do I feel silly.

That said, to make things a bit easier and less confusing, I'll just come up with something a bit more appropriate after I get some food in me.

So I thought I recognized that girl, and I was right. It's Hoodier's girl!

1: While it's technically possible to earn a scholarship through an institute like Geiru and transition back to a normal, higher education if you take some competency tests, it still seems like a weird choice to me. It doesn't look like Chidori is particularly interested in protecting the nation and it's not like the institute itself will delve particularly deep into science, which is her forte. Could you explain this a bit more?

A rash decision mostly, bought on by a desire to particularly just get herself away from her family. She's smart, but doesn't have a lot of world experience and just did what seemed like a good idea at the time. A big factor was simply a desire to see constructs up close, even hostile ones. She also probably assumed a place like Geiru would have like an R&D department or something she could get into.

If not, well, she'll have to deal with that.

2: Nehla's power is a bit too vague for me, and doesn't seem to match up too well with her visual design. A friend of mine suggested you might be going for a "siren" angle since the one line of hers mentioned singing, but if that's the case, how does she release shockwaves into the earth? Face-plant and yell into the ground? There needs to be some more explanation on *how* her powers work, I feel, not just what effect they could have.

Give me some more of that and I'll prolly be fine with this, most of this seems alright to me.

Whoops. Dropped the ball on that bit.

It'd be hard for her to make an earthquake, but it would certainly be possible. Dive her talons into the ground, amplify the resulting vibrations downwards, and you get an earthquake. More realistically, she'd probably use something like the beating of her wings to generate directed blasts of pressure towards targets, and as you said her 'voice' in a way similar as a constant stream of pressure to blast something.

If you're not sold on the power though and don't think it fits her visually, I don't mind changing it. Just felt like doing something like a standard thunder or wind bird would be a bit cliche and a change of pace from what I normally do. I wasn't particularly going for a siren feel at all, though. The whole thing about finding her voice was simply a metaphor for Chidori's lack of confidence and Nehls excess of it.

Suppose I could go for a more Siren angle, but I don't really know what that would entail at the moment.

Heyo, here we go.

Well, if Amaryllis knew them they probably weren't bad people. She wasn't quite sure about some of them, but no sense in antagonizing someone for now while they were still getting their bearings. Odd that people couldn't contact their patrons though. Not that it was odd for her, being without one in the first place.

"Haaa...man why can't I just have a day without something weird happening." Rina mumbled to herself, walking aboard the boat. For the most part, she didn't approach the other magical girls. No real reason too, and she didn't feel like trying to make friends with them. "I'll be up in the crows nest." She waved back at them as she walked, heading up to the tallest point on the ship. If something bad was going to be happening, might as well be the first to see it.

Thankfully it seemed like her misgivings were wrong. The ghost ship sailed, and it sailed fast. They were quickly at the resort island. Its appearance did little to make Rina let her guard down. It was just all too convenient. Maybe she was being overly serious, but this all just was far too much of way too many good seeming things happening at once. Arriving at the help desk, one of the girls - Shanon was it, proceeded to ring the bell.

"Am I the only one who thinks this all seems way to convenient?" Rina sighed, frowning lightly. "Looks nice though." Reminded her of where she used to find the high class blue-collar criminal types. She'd much rather prefer a low brow bar or diner somewhere. Fancy places like this just weren't her style. Maybe it'd be a good relaxing vacation spot though, but she doubted it.

Connoisseur of flesh? Well that was one way to put it.

"I prefer to think of it as appreciating the beautiful things in life." Chloe replied with a smile. Vermilion Veronica, huh? Quite the grandiose name. She hadn't a clue as to what she could help her with. She doubted she could in any sense of the word. Things with the Archive were progressing nicely, so she didn't need help on that front. The only other thing she may need 'help' with was the Mint. Well, no reason to think about it too hard for now. "But hey, if by meeting me in private you mean buying me a drink, I'll take you up on that offer, heh." Wings forming once more, Chloe's magic orb spun in place atop her finger. "I'll keep ya to that. Don't go running off with another girl before me. I might get a little upset~"

Taking to the skies once more, Chloe followed the others towards the main island. It'd probably not be this easy, but - wait why were there two masochists? Lily seemed to think she was a twin. Her third eye was telling her differently. Well then.

"Heh, well, someone's into some fun stuff." Chloe only stopped next to the two, making the comment complete with a knowing chuckle just as they reached their destination. A tropical climate, a lush resort, plenty of activities - all she needed now was her dear little Penny and this might as well be as good as a honeymoon. And...were those some beacon members here? Oh how fun. Maybe they would decide to get violent and she could actually have a bit of fun, but for now she played nice and ignored them. Maybe for some dinner and entertainment later she'd mess with them. For now she was going to pester Sam and Shade for the foreseeable future. "I still think the original is cuter though."
Mmkay, cool

I'll see about getting somethin' up in the next day or two.
Well this seems interesting to give a shot.

Got room for one more here? Dunno quite what I'll be making yet, but just to keep things simple, probably a human/construct pair, unless someone has need of a partner of either or here.
~~Seleth~~

@PaulHaynek

Seleth listened to the words of Athos, expression growing more serious with each passing word. It was a story she was quite well aware of. Child pressured into doing something the parents wanted, despite perhaps wanting to do something else. She had a similar story herself - though in her case she decided that she would take up the mantle. Trying to constantly live up to her family name was difficult. For her, it instilled a since of pride. A sense that she was better than everyone. For a time she did truly believe that, while she was attending the academy, even when she was constantly second guessing herself.

"...you're a fool, Athos." Seleth replied simply. "But there is little to be done about it now. You are correct, with the ceremony coming up I doubt I'll have time to investigate or even try to find Varjan." She leaned back in the chair. "...Lord Athos." She fixed the older mage with a slightly concerned gaze.

Perhaps she should mention what the Lot knight had told her.

...No, that would be silly.

"...Mhm, nevermind." Seleth narrowed her eyes at him. "If I am able, I shall clean up this mess you made with my own two hands. Is that all, Or was there something else you wish to confess aside from your foolishness?"
Still here

Planning on posting today

Apologies.

Mie Yukima

Vertti's Manor
Deaths: N/A

"Fufu, what's the matter?" Mie giggled, sliding the contract up her sleeve. "Would you prefer I call you my little butterfly again? You seemed to like it last time." Despite her joviality, it was only a show as always. Honestly? She wasn't sure if this was a good idea. Most of her ideas, in fact, could be counted on some spectrum of reckless and half-planned, but this had to be one of her most reckless decisions in a while.

She didn't trust Vertti.

How could she?

She was used to people lying. People scheming. Using others. People backstabbing others. Quite literally in some situations. The fox wasn't sure if Vertti wasn't using her for something. She had the royal seal turned into a ring for Laguna's sake, and had given it to her. Considering what was going on, with her was the safest place for the seal. If Vertti wanted to stop it from being stolen, that was a plan about reckless enough for her to try. Get on someones good side and had off the item to them. Every single thing in her body was still telling her to shank the aristocrat and run off like the scared fox she might as well be in the grand scheme of things.

But...For once. For once in a very long while. She'd give someone the benefit of the doubt. She was fairly certain she'd just end up getting hurt, but sometimes, betting against the odds worked out alright in the end.

"Oh hello little Rabbit." Mie gave him a friendly smile, picking up the knife she had discarded earlier from the floor, sliding it back into its hiding spot under her maid uniform. "Don't mind the knife. I was just playing a game with the butterfly here, fufu...that said, it seems like she had me all figured out from the start and told you too." She sighed, frowning lightly. "I'd ask who ratted me out, but I'm beginning to think I was just sloppy somewhere." Taking a seat next to Vertti, Mie waved a hand dismissively, replacing the mask in her dress. "Not that it matters now." The hairs on her tail were standing on end. Something felt...off, but she couldn't quite place it. This objectively should be one of the safest rooms in the house as long as she was here, yet she still felt mildly uneasy.

...actually.

Mie took the ring off her finger, sliding it into one of her pockets. Best not to advertise its location for now.

"So, you said you didn't want me killing anything now," Mie looked up at the human. "But I don't suppose you'd let me join in on the fun racket out there, hm?" Giggling lightly. "Taking out threats before they get to you is the best way to do it, you know. I just so happen to be an expert in that."
