...Pikachu cuts the Earth Power/Stone Edge rocks created by Cynthia's Gastrodon and throws it at them twice. (it caught them, and resists it if it can be called a rock move) It then quick attacks the rocks Gastrodon was holding without actually making contact with Gastrodon. And that's apparently enough to knock it out.

God I hate Ash Ketchum. It's not just that he has plot armor, but that it always feels so lazy and unearned.

Anyway...
I prefer the four moveslot limit

I wouldn't mind holding you to that, though I do have a few concerns if pvp ever arises. (Which seems likely because Pokémon trainers are involved) There's a lot of room for tactical abuse when everyone can canonically change their team's moves between battles and noncanonically change their team's moves mid-battle by retroactively deciding what four moves they have. This might not sound like a big deal, but for a lot of matchups it's a huge unfair advantage, having a greater negative impact on pokémon that rely on specific strategies. (e.g. because moves that can get around their strategy can be swapped in, while the moveslots tied up with the pieces of that strategy cannot logically be swapped out)

This could be alleviated by adding moves to everyone's app (albeit it also spoils what moves they have) or by PMing all moves each pokémon has to you.

Are we abiding by the 4-moveslot limit of the games? I would assume not, but I have plans for either case.
Added Tess, removed Felix.
Just wanted to visualize this:

So, I pretty much typed up an entire app for another character before deciding I'd probably rather use Kaison, since his team is gimmicky and fun. (The details of which I left out of his app, as a surprise) but eh, if @Carlyle thinks this character would fit the RP better, I wouldn't mind going with him either.

Are you still planning on running the Sorrow's Song RP? If not, I might go with a different character, or just present both of them and have you pick out whichever you like more. There are like 5 different characters I was thinking of using for this RP so it was a bit hard to decide.

I more or less agree with Zeroth. An overarching narrative, or perhaps episodic narratives, would help direct players in a world that is otherwise somewhat empty and directionless, and more development of the setting (in fairness this is just an interest check) would help as well.

I think I'd like to make a new character for this RP and have them hunt down specific legendary Pokemon; maybe do Regi puzzles or check out the remains of Sinnoh lakes, or maybe just look for the remains of a so-called time machine in the Paldea region in hopes of using it to catch paradox Pokemon doing something about the whole apocalypse thing, but it feels a bit presumptuous to be having my character drive the plot of the entire RP, and if they aren't, (which I don't expect them to) then something should probably be offering to take their place for other characters. Base camps/shelters/towns of survivors would also be useful, providing many opportunities for characters to do things. Quest boards, if you cared to include them and add to them, could essentially serve as writing prompts, with rewards (goods and services) from the camps/shelters/towns potentially driving the character progression side of things. There's no league anymore, so there's not much to aspire to unless something is there to take its place as well, even if that something is just bad guys.
I'm down for this one too. I have a couple of old characters that would fit right in.
