Thank you, I’ll keep that in mind. While Libe landed some pretty clean blows the fact that she isn’t as strong as Drystan prevents her attack from doing any harm. She’ll have to take advantage of the damage he already did to do any damage.
Are we allowed to do a little bit of damage to the monster? I have two stacks I want to land that might help us win this fight even if t won’t kill the monster immediately.
One by one the fishmen fell to the blades of the hunters. The damage they did was fairly minimal as far as Libe knew. It was more shocking than dangerous, but she knew such over confidence could kill her. Still she took solace in the fact that she could, in fact, kill these creatures. She gripped her arm as it was shaking. It was her first kill on a creature that wasn't an animal. She's hunted rabbits, foxes, deer, wolves, and even slew a bear, but this was her first monster kill. She took a small sheet of cloth and wiped the blood from her blade as she looked to the others. Sure enough Anastasia's mob was no match for even one of these creatures as Libe watched in quiet horror of the ghastly scene before her. Men and women torn apart like hens attacked by wolves. And it was just one of these monsters that had done this. Libe wasn't sure if she should be horrified or proud that she managed to slay one of these creatures on her own. She did have to turn away to vomit a little.

Wiping up her bile from her mouth Libe looked towards Anastasia as she made a spectacle of her kill. Her two minions had tore it's arms off while she had grabbed it by the head and kept it still with inhuman strength. Perhaps it was the power of the potion, but Libe herself still couldn't believe such a potion could grant a mere mortal that level of strength. "Inhuman..." Libe shuddered. Anastasia approached which made Libe straight up but hide her eyes underneath the brim of her hat. The woman congratulated Libe on the efficiency of her kill to which Libe spoke curtly. "Expect nothing less. If I had not, more of your men would've died." She motioned towards the pile of mutilated corpses without looking directly at them. Libe wondered if she even cared that she had brought these sheeple to a slaughter.

Anastasia was going to head west where the captain had gone to assist him. Libe figured he could take care of himself, however it was possible that he may have also found the creature. If so Libe wanted to be there to fight it. So she followed Anastasia for a short while until she heard a deafening roar that was so loud it caused Libe to kneel and clutch her ears. "Goddamn! What was that!?" Turning to the source of the roar Libe paled before the sight. Even from her distant position the creature was huge; easily twice as tall as Libe, and likely eight times as heavier. Compared to the ones they just fought Libe could tell this one wasn't going to be nearly as easy to slay. Hell, one arm was bigger than Libe's entire body. If she even gets a glancing blow from that creature, Libe doesn't expect to leave without broken bones if not a limb torn off. Fear shook her body.

But it would not control her. "No! I won't let this creature end me! It will be nothing more but a stain on my blade." She had already slain it's spawn and this monster would meet the same fate. She would be faster, strike swifter, and cut the creature into ribbons before it could lay a finger on her. This Libe was determined to do. Readying her sword once more Libe watched as two arrows flew into the monster's mouth. Libe barely caught sight of the mysterious archer who fired them and by the time Libe looked she saw nothing but rocky crags. Still Libe couldn't let this opportunity go to waste as she charged forward, blade poised to strike, as she readied for the monster to come at her. "Foul wretch! You belong with the rest of your kind in a slum market: gutted and hanged."
"Yup, that's us. Just bring the reward to me and I'll split it up among the others. Half of these guys can't even count and one of them is a greedy thief, so I have to make sure these louts don't tear each other apart over a few silvers." Parum said to the captain. After they were dismissed she looked to Torag who wanted to know where to get food. As much as she wanted to stick everyone together, she needed to let them spread out a bit more, less the camp wonder what they were up to. If they stayed together in their own circle people might get curious, and while there was an inherent danger in going around alone, at least this way it was easier for them to individually go unnoticed. "I'm sure the last group stole some cows or something. They hit up that farming town not too long ago so I'm sure they have something for you. Anyways I need to take a piss."

Dismissing herself Parum went off to "take a piss" though in truth she was actually looking for Leosin. She'd have to leave it to Brannor to find him if he is among the slaves, but if he is not, Parum needed to find him herself. Surely there was an area around here where they keep prisoners in cages or stocks, and she knew what Leosin looked like so it was just a matter of finding a half-elf like figure with dark hair. She tried her best not to be "sneaking" around and just look like she's casually milling about, occasionally walking towards the forest if she see's a big group. If anyone asks what she was doing she'd tell them she was going to take a piss until they leave so she could resume her search. Parum also wanted to get an idea of the camp's area and location, keeping a mental note of all the guard towers, tents, and whatever else looked important here.

Libe spent her time on the boat listening to what everyone else was talking about. Most of it was just idle chatter and woes about the coming hunt. Libe found a secluded spot on the ship and practiced a few swings, trying to get into the mind if the enemy. She wasn’t fighting mere men this time, but monsters in the shape of men. They likely used claws, teeth, and spikes like animals. This actually eased Libe’s mind. She could kill animals. She imagined what a battle against the monster would be like and started moving her body and sword to replicate that battle in her mind. She imagined the monster was swift for its size, as a sluggish monster would have never have survived for this long on its own. Despite that Libe was faster, avoiding its talons and fins while slicing into its unarmored body parts. It’s scales were no doubt able to foil a lighter blade, and besides Libe had learned not to bother piercing armor anyways.

By the time Libe had stained the beast in her head the ship had landed. Libe leapt off the ship and onto the shore taking in the desolate sight. This barren rock looked better off buried underneath the sea. Perhaps a prison could be built here to keep the insane isolated from society. Either way it was an ugly place and Libe wouldn’t mind leaving soon.

As she wandered the shore for a bit many have already left to go scout the island. One person, Anastasia, was trying to rally her mercenaries to assemble. Just like with Captain Drystan, Libe was familiar with the Ballanger family and their mysterious new member. A foreign woman with no known ties to any nobility or renown, best known for her swordsmanship and her sudden rise into power. She was trying to rally the other hunters, but even her own men seemed uninterested in her commands. This made Libe suspect that Anastasia was either a fool who stumbled into her position, or she never had intended for her own men to escape this island alive. Libe was all too familiar with the type of women who could throw away the lives of dim witted men who’d gladly fall into their swords for money or lust. That was the type of woman Libe vowed never to become.

Though the words of Libe’s sister rang in her mind, she figured that it would be best for her to seek out the monsters on her own for now. If she did find any, she would at least alert the others first so that they can witness her skill in battle. But little did Libe know the monsters around find her first. She heard the dying screams of sailors as Libe turned towards the water and saw the Rancid Eel go down. Libe steeled herself as drew her sword as she heard the beasts swim closer to shore.

Four creatures walked ashore. Glancing around Libe could tell they were going after other hunters. A large one went west where the captain had gone. Another went east where Libe had seen a few more hunters travel. Two more, the twins of the litter it seemed, came to the area where Libe and Anastasia was. As the aristocratic tried to rally her people, Libe wasted no time engaging the other fish monster. Taking out a dagger she flung it at the monster nailing it right in the shoulder. Some blood seeped from the wound, but her dagger did not bury itself very deep. It did get the creature’s attention.

The monster charged at Libe as she braved herself. It shot its claw forward to Libe’s face to cut her eyes out but she was able to duck underneath the swipe and sliced her blade down into the Beast from shoulder to hip. Or at least that’s what would’ve happened. But the monster’s scales were tougher than she had anticipated and while her blade dig into its flesh, it slowed her blade just long enough for the Beast to take another swing at Libe. She was forced to jump back and pull her blade out from its shoulder. ”Hmph. You’re just a little bit tougher then I thought.” The creature was bleeding heavily from its shoulder with a wound at least four inches deep. Libe knew she had cut into bone and the fish man’s right arm hung limp as it struggled to move it. Swiping the blood off her blade Libe took on her defensive stance.

The fishman roared and charged at Libe again. This time she also charged and just as he lashed out at Libe she sidestepped so that her blade would cut into the fish man’s hand, slicing through from his middle finger down to its forearm. It screamed in pain as Libe swiftly dispatched it: she kicked the monster in the back of its knee so that it knelt onto the sand, and with her blade poised above her head she sliced the fish man’s head clean from its shoulder. It’s ghastly visage left a disgusted feeling in the pit of Libe’s stomach.

”Disgusting.”

Yukari Yozakura

"Oh, thank you!" Yukari took a seat on the chair Kaida pulled out for her. This probably wasn't the seat Mamoru assigned her, but she didn't want to be rude and leave her current company. As Yukari pulled up she listened to Ayato explain his powers, or at least someone did. Yukari couldn't see his sprites but she could guess that they existed and were somehow related to him. "Oh I'm sure with enough training he could be even better than me! I had to live my entire life like this. Being able to see things could change everything." Yukari said solemnly. She wondered if maybe if she was able to see with her own eyes, her life wouldn't be like this. Just having to listen and take everyone's word, being able to make her own judgements. Yukari mulled on this thought for a bit before putting her mind off of her negativity. She didn't want to sour everyone's mood.

Another voice joined the conversation. If Yukari remembered correctly this was Kenichi. He had some pretty heated things to say to Ms. Mako during their Villain Studies so Yukari made sure to remember him. He seemed very passionate about fighting villains it kind of scared her. However right now he seemed calmer and more jolly. "Hello! You're just in time for dinner!" Speaking of dinner Yukari could smell the beef don. It was so good! Yukari wasted no time taking her chopsticks and eating. She was surprised at how much onions were on the don; she had expected a little bit, not a whole mountain! Despite the assault on her senses Yukari did enjoy the food and ate fairly quickly. It was a bad habit of hers growing up; she was always putting on a show so she had no lunch breaks.

"Mhmm. My compliments to the chef!" Yukari said with a soft burp. She covered her mouth and excused herself but had a little giggle fit. "Ah, that really hit the spot though. I can't eat another bite! Well I could, but I shouldn't. So what do you all think about your first day so far?"

"Parry, riposte, and thrust!"

Libe took her blade with both her hands and deflected a blow inches away from her face. Sliding her steel down the length of her opponent's sword she poised the blade to the underside of their chin, away from their armor and thrust thus into the skull. With a florish she decapitated her target. "Hmph. I don't see why you keep wanting to practice sister. A sword is of little use in the training fields."[/color] Libe's sister tossed away with straw practice dummy on her arm as she sheathed her own blade. Libe looked down at the wooden manikin trying to imagine it being a once living human, but had no imagine her her mind to make that look real. Libe looked at her sister and sheathed her own sword. "Practice makes perfect sister. I have to keep my skills sharp no matter what." Libe joined her sister at the balcony of their family home overlooking the city of Rothenburg. The sun was about to set and people were going about their business, either closing their shops for the night or even opening their doors for late-night business. Despite the prosperity and wealth of the city there was an air of dread palatable even here in the noble district.

"Practice makes you predictable. You've already learned all I can teach you. If you get too accustomed to that, you'll never stand a chance when your opponent fights differently from me."

"If my enemy can't fight like you, they aren't much of a threat."

"Libe, the monsters you hunt aren't knights or even human. Trying to fight them like a man will only end in your death. We don't hunt beasts with our swords you know."

"But they'll die all the same. Man, beast, or monster, if it bleeds I can kill it. It's really not that complicated."

Libe spoke with confidence as she watched the servants of the house shuffle through the courtyard. Among them were a few of her sisters and "mothers", though none of them related to her by blood. They had only stopped by to visit as Libe and her elder sister had finally come home after a quest to deal with a potential revolt in a distant town. But in the end it was just religious fanatics trying to stir up the people into rebellion, their words falling onto death ears as they were executed for heresy. Libe was no strange to seeing an execution, though she still didn't quite have the stomach for death. She had to force herself to watch and become accustomed to the act of killing.

"I still don't believe you're ready for this, my little sister."

"A bird will never fly if it never leaves the nest, my eldest sister."

The two looked at each other, their eyes meeting one another. Libe was darker skinned than her sister, who had a fair complexion. Their features were notably different enough that one could not tell they were siblings at a glance. Only their piercing red eyes spoke of any shared connection between the two. The La'Spada's family signature. As the two started, Libe cracked a smile. Her sister started to giggle. Eventually the two broke down into a laughing fit as their serious facade broke down and the two engaged in lighthearted roughhousing. A light tap here, a noogie there, they played like they were little boys instead of the noble women they were. Soon the two stopped after they had their fun and leaned against the stonework.

"I'll admit I'm nervous. This would be the first time I've actually done something myself. No servants, no family, just me and my honor." When Libe spoke about her honor she lifted her enchanted blade. The magic imbue into her sword was not complex; it simply ensured that her blade would forever remain sharp, and even should it be damaged or shattered it can repair itself almost instantly. The La'Spada family rarely wasted resources on anything but practical when it comes to their equipment. Even their home lacked the usual flair that most nobility tried to flaunt, being more akin to a fortress than a home. But it also made it a castle of it's own, and practically impenetrable to assault or invasion. It was possibly the safest place in the city next to the royal palace itself. Very important in these dark times.

"As you should be. I think I've spoiled you too much by never letting you fight a battle alongside me. It pains me to say this, but I do not want you to go to this Hunting Guild. Even if the king himself endorses this organization, I don't want my precious little sister to throw herself into danger. However... I also won't keep her chained to me forever. All I ask is that you be safe, Libeccio. Listen to others, work with them, and survive. Do that for me, and you'll bring honor to our house."

Libe thought about her sister's words as she put the family mansion behind her. She had with her a few things she felt would be needed for the hunt; her weapons, her clothing, armor, and a few healing potions. Not only did Libe have her enchanted sword slung across her back but she had a few daggers hidden up her sleeve as well. They were thin, small blades, not strong enough to withstand even a glancing blow, but she can draw them quickly and stab them into her enemy's vitals before they could even realize she was armed. She could also fling them in a flash if they thought they could beat her simply by staying out of her sword's reach. Her armor was a very light chainshirt designed for all women of the La'Spada home. Made by master smiths, despite the light weight the armor was tough enough to absorb even an arrow fired from a crossbow, ensuring that the ladies of the house was always protected. The fact that it was so lightweight and comfortable was also a mark of true craftsmanship. And lastly some healing potions that Libe had carried throughout her career as a squire. Her sister often got bruised up during battles and these potions alleviated the worse of the injuries. Even more dangerous wounds like broken bones or punctured lungs could be healed with these potions. Libe only had two, so she had to make them count.

Eventually Libe would arrive to the guildhall just in time to see many of them leave. At the head she could recognize none other than Captain Drystan. Live made sure to familiarize herself with the Royal Guards, as only the best were allowed to personally protect the king himself. Libe's own sister could've been a Royal Guard but she didn't like the idea of just sitting around the castle all day waiting for danger to happen. Drystan was followed by a mishmash of other hunters so Libe guessed that he was heading to the first mark. She didn't want to miss out so she followed him onto the boat and got a briefing about what they were hunting.
I have a character if you have the space.

"Yup yup." Parum said simply. While she looked like she was just shooting the breeze, she was actually carefully listening to the guard captain, taking in the information for important clues. Firstly was that it seemed like the kobolds and the cultists weren't quite as cooperative as Parum had thought. While they were both loyal to the purpose of bringing Tiamat back to their world, there didn't seem to be much cohesion with the little dragon yelps and the cults. Not only that but it seemed like the cult itself wasn't as big as Parum had thought, if it was mostly mercenaries padding out their numbers rather than true believers. It made Parum wonder just how many actually realized what they were fighting for here and what it'd mean if they 'won'. The second thing came from the errand boy; he had praised Tiamat's glory and raised his hand into the air, his fingers spread. It wasn't hard for Parum to figure out the details; this was obviously some sort of cult-related hand sign or greeting, with each finger representing each of Tiamat's heads. A trivial piece of information perhaps, but Parum would remember it nonetheless.

The third thing that Parum noted was that they were going to take Brannor to the nursery. Assuming that they weren't raising war orphans here, this confirmed Parum's suspicion that this place was where the dragon's nest was. That alone would explain why they'd attack Greenest, since no doubt they'll need as much livestock as they could get to feed their dragon horde. It also confirmed that this must be their main camp, even if there seemed to be a suspicious lack of security here. That's when the guard asked for their names, and Orchid was giving her a look. She sighed and just returned his look with one of disbelief. "What? Are you waiting for a vision or something? Go escort the prisoner! If you don't know where to go yourself then just follow that guy." Parum waved Orchid off to let him go find the nursery alongside Brannor while Parum spoke to the guard captain. "Anyways... My name is Parum. The half-orc is Orchid. The old man is Torag. The elf is Shepard. I'm more or less the leader of this lot since I can think beyond just killing the next person we're told to kill."
