Finished with his celebratory arrival, the chubby male gave his body a good wiggle to shake off the goosebumps then took a moment to catch his breath." Whew, that solo and singing took a bit out of me." Chuckling softly to himself before wincing as he could no longer ignore the burning sting in his right fingers." Ouch, did a number on the fingers too. Think it best I took a break from the banjo..and any stringed instruments." Waving the hand and blowing on the fingers as he spoke then glanced over at Nimbus who simply floated in place." Glad to enjoy a break from my awful playing? Ah hah you're so funny." His tone sarcastic as he gave the cloud a playful glare while sucking on his sore finger.

A sigh of relief left his lips as the stinging pain of his fingers ebbed a bit as he finished blowing on them. Turning his head towards the open doorway where he could faintly hear multiple voices coming from within." Looks like there's quite the gathering inside. And one of those has to be cuz! This will be so awesome!" Pumping his fist; feeling his excitement bubble within once more though before he could cheer his head turned towards Nimbus who gave a small rumble." What do you mean I'm giving too much energy?!" Placing his hands on his hips with a look of offense on his face at the accusation." I think I'm giving exactly the right of energy, thank you very much. In fact I could go harder but don't want to end up passing out before even going inside." Waving his hand to dismiss his pal's suggestion to take it down a notch.

A roll of the eyes while drumming the fingers of his left hand on the banjo still resting against his belly." Right, guess I should put this away for now." Humming to himself as he stepped over to the side of the floating cloud caravan then slipped off the banjo strap before pushing his arms and head through the white fluff then pulled back out with the holes left behind closing up seconds later with a dusting of his hands.

" There we are! Now lets....hm.." Trailing off while rubbing at his chin as he realized the caravan was in a bad spot with it nearly blocking the entrance." Yeah I probably shouldn't go leaving it here in the middle of the way but an easy fix." Snapping the fingers of his left hand as his right hand reached beneath the floating cloud and tapped the bottom twice to have it float up until it was level with the building's roof, the rope tying it to Nimbus pulling free.

He pointed at the cloud once satisfied." There we are, now be a good boy and stay...staaaaay." Tilting his head with a suspicious gaze as if expecting it to go wandering off on its own then turned and grabbed Nimbus to pull and hug it against his side." Now come on buddy! The guild and cuz awaits!" Throwing up his free fist in a cheer before strolling his way inside with a merry whistle.

As expected, he would spot a good sized group of people inside." Dang, there's more people here than I thought. Practically a party going on...might make it hard to find him out of this crowd." Humming to himself as he slowly scanned the large room and the people gathered around.

A day that had started downcast but with the passage of time, they sun prickled and peaked through the thickly grey clouds until they could not help but give way. An starkly abysmal sky opened up to brighten up the day as a human sized golden cloud flying just above the tree tops reveled in the sun's warmth. And the lone individual lying atop the cloud especially took joy in seeing the ever familiar glowing face shine brilliantly with life though whatever the weather, the chubby individual was happy be it cloudy or rainy or stormy though hurricanes were one to look out for.

D'angelo, who was lounging beanbag style atop his trusty cloudy steed, Nimbus was humming a merry tune while idly strumming away at the banjo resting snugly against his pudgy round stomach. His fingers strummed at the strings causing discordant notes to weakly reverberate before being drowned by his humming, the tip of the fingers slightly redden and sore from playing the banjo or one of the other instruments collected along his travels but the chubby male paid no heed to the pain. Course, nothing really ever soured D'angelo's mood as even now a cheery and uplifting smile adorned his round pudgy face; a smile often said to rival the sun and contagious as a common cold. A teasing comparison which always brought out a jovial laugh from him.

Lifting the hand that had been strumming at the strings to brush it through his brushed back chocolate brown hair before sliding it down to adjust the shades resting over his eyes. Then with a deep inhale, he sat up to stretch his arms with a low yawning groan as the heel of his foot nudged the cloud to have the cloud come to a slow stop." Hngh! We must of been flying for hours if the sun's come out." Lifting his head to gaze up at the sky where he received a momentary flash of light glinting off the shades." Hahah! And a howdy do you too!" Waving up at the sky while chuckling." Those guys at the shop were right about these glasses but boy does it make my nose itchy and sweaty." Shifting the banjo onto his right hip before picking them up off his face to rub at the bridge of his nose." Alright, now where are we." Placing the free hand above his eyes to start scanning around him, where at first he could see nothing but trees and the caravan cloud the size of a small shed behind him tied to the back of nimbus via a rope. Briefly catching sight of his arm, where he noticed his once normally pale skin had taken on a slight tan causing him to let out a low whistle." Whew, guess it wasn't just the knickknacks and souvenir I've picked up while traveling these past several months." Laughing at himself for failing to even notice his own tan.

Taking a moment to brush his fingers along the slightly darkened skin of his arm, amused at the realization." Better than a sunburn though wouldn't you say, pal?" Tilting his head to glance down at Nimbus which he felt rumble briefly beneath him." Oh yeah, as if you haven't already bragged enough about not having skin to get burned." Scoffing while giving the golden puff a few playful pokes.

After a good pokes did he remember needing to figure out where he even was." Oh yeah!" Bumping a palm to his forehead as he quickly resumed his scanning until he caught glimpse of a most exciting sight. His body jumped up in place excitedly with his left hand scooping a small chunk of cloud, the right setting the shades down then.

A flick forward of the left hand to have the chunk stretch and shift into a long cylinder shape then two taps along the side to have a droplet of water form at the wider end to have a cloudy spyglass form.

" Yar..city hooooooo!" Exclaiming in a stereotypical pirate accent while leaning forward to try and get as good a look one could with a makeshift spyglass before eventually spotting a sign of which he could vaguely make out the word, Magnolia." Aye, thar be Magnolia said to be the finest city of these seven leafy seas!" The widest smile possible cracked his sun kissed face; struggling to keep his body from shaking with excitement." We be only minutes away from making shore after all these months across the leafy deep!" He began laughing giddily as he leaned back with a parrot shaped cloud forming on his shoulder." Oi Polly! Take a gander." Lifting the spyglass to the cloud parrot." Thar be the home of Phoenix Wing! Finest guild cross these lands and it be there the treasure we seek awaits!" Bouncing in place like an excited kid." What do ye think of that, Polly?" Glancing down at the cloud parrot as if expecting it to respond then make a squawking sound from the corner of his mouth.

" *Squawk* Don't know why you asking me I'm just a ball of cloud *squawk* "

D'angelo's brows furrowed a bit at the bird's response he had it give." Maybe show some enthusiasm for finally arriving at Magnolia after months of flying." Pointing his free hand towards the city while staring at the cloudy bird which simply sat there lifeless before waving his hand to disperse the parrot." Bah, shows what a cloudy bird knows. Surely you're excited right, Nimbus!" Grinning down hopefully at the cloud and after nearly five seconds of waiting did he feel a rumble beneath him again prompting him to throw his fist up in a pumping action." Aye that be the spirit!" He cheered out in jubilee as he did so.

" Just a little longer till we get to see the he who has since long thought lost! I can't wait to see his face after seeing us." Bouncing giddily in place once more." And you know what such wondrous news calls for?" He asked which was received with silence." That's right! A sky shanty!" Grabbing and pulling the banjo back across his chest." Let's go!" Clapping the soles of his shoes twice to have Nimbus flying off towards Magnolia.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fingers strummed along the strings in amateur upbeat rhythm with most of the tunes off and discordant; clearly the playing of a total rookie. Following by a matching cheery humming as D'angelo began singing in a tone nearly matching his playing of the banjo though not one to necessarily hurt any would be listeners ears.

"
Come and fly away with me

Come and fly away with me-e-e-e-e

Come and fly away with me

Co-co-come and fly away with me-e-e-e-e

Come and fly away with me

Come and fly away with me

Co-co-come and fly away with me

Come and fly away with me

Don't you be afraid
Everything will change

You and I
Jumping off the edge

They say dreamers never die
So, come and fly

Come and fly
Come and fly away with me

We're Rising, We're falling
We'll make it through
"

Humming the melody as nimbus lightly rose and dipped as it flew onward towards the city

" We're climbing
We're soaring

A thousand views

We're Rising, We're falling
We'll make it through

We're climbing
We're soaring

A thousand views
"

Rocking lightly atop Nimbus as he stopped singing to begin humming and whistling a cheery and upbeat melody in intermission as a few birds taking lift from the tree tops flapped and flew around him. Soon hearing them chirp in tune to his delight; nodding his head as he whistled along with the unexpected flock.

With a low screeching chirp the birds flew off just as he reached the outskirts of the town, where he then bid them a bon adieu with a whistling wave of the hand.

Glancing around while whistling until he caught sight of someone working on their car in their driveway and gave a signaling tap to Nimbus to fly down next to the car. The cloud pulled to a slow stop, careful to pull up far enough to the side so as to keep the caravan cloud from hitting the card." Hello and a fine howdy do!" He called out in a cheerful greeting voice, just loud enough to get the man currently working under the hood of his truck's attention.

A low grunt and a snort could be heard before the male pulled away from his truck; a man in his mid-30's dressed in overalls stained and smudged in oil and dirt with a weathered tanned face covered in a few days unshaved whiskers." How many times I told you kids to stay away when I'm work-" A look of stunned disbelief took hold of his face as he stood witness to the rather unbelievable sight of a chubby young adult just floating there over his yard with banjo in hand and sitting atop some weird puffy golden thing.

With no idea of what to make of what he was seeing and could only stare at the unorthodox sight and that overly friendly grinning face all flabbergasted with his oily hands kept busy rubbing and wringing the rag held in their grip.

A friendly wave in greeting as he leaned towards the stunned stranger." Howdy there! The name's D'angelo and I'm new to the town." Pointing at himself with his thumb while introducing himself." Hope I'm not bothering you and that's one real beaut of a truck you got there, by the way." Nodding in approval with a thumbs up.

The man could only blink at receiving probably the friendliest greeting in his life and a compliment on top of it." Well uh..that's real kind of you. Had Bessy here for goin on..uh 9 years now I'd say, give or take though the transmission been acting up."

Not once did he look away nor the big smile wavered on his face as he listened to every word, genuinely interested in the stranger's issue with the truck." Ah, man sounds like you have a great history with Bessy there, yeah? Unfortunate about the transmission, but things always reach a point where they start breaking down on ya, you know? But I'm sure you will get Bessy in working order and be right as rain."

It was odd to have some stranger pull up out of the blue trying to be all friendly with small talk. Normally would be getting annoyed at a stranger doing so, even more so when that such person was a outsider to the town, but for some reason he simply couldn't bring himself to be annoyed or angry at this D'angelo as his kind words of motivation felt real and not just being said to be nice." You're an awful friendly one aren't you? Don't get many outsiders that go out of there way to listen to some stranger." The man considered to be a grump in this neighborhood found himself chuckling, finding himself liking the pudgy lad." Ah, there a plenty stories I could tell you about Bessy here, but I'm sure you got things to do and places to be. So, what can I do for you, lad?"

Hearing the man chuckle had D'angelo laughing along." I've been told that from time to time. Glad its an enjoyable manner this time." Rubbing the back of his head while smiling widely at the praise then he perked up at the mention of these stories about Bessy causing him to lean forward a bit more." Ooh you do! Well I do need to get going sadly, but you best believe I'll be coming by sometime to hear some of them stories." Doing a finger snap gun at him while taking a look around to memorize the address for a future visit then cleared his throat." Right..the thing I bothered you for." Waving his hands forward at the sides of his face to get himself to focus." I just wanted to ask for directions to the guild, Phoenix Wing. Do you perhaps know of it?"

The man gave a scoffing chuckle with a shake of the head while wiping at his dirty hand with the rag." Should of figured it was about Phoenix Wing. Of course I know the place as you'd be real hard pressed to meet someone who didn't know about that guild. Everyone and their mothers flock to the place to fanboy or fangirl or seek to join." Shaking his head, his voice not one of dislike but more of exasperation from all the people going on about the guild though he had no problems giving D'angelo the directions.

And doing so had D'angelo elated and thankful as he clasped his hands together after receiving the directions." Aye! Thanks for the help. Today really has been a great day with finally reaching Magnolia and meeting a new possible friend and his truck, Bessy." Tipping his head as if tipping a hat in the truck's direction then pondered to himself; wanting to show his thanks and apology for taking up his time that he reached into Nimbus and rummaged around for a bit before pulling his hands out to find he was holding a small plastic tin with a slice of cheesecake and bottle of water." Here we are! A token of my appreciation." Holding out his hands as he all but shoved them into the man's arms before any chance of refusing them." Good luck with Bessy and make sure to take a break every now and then so you don't overwork yourself."

A confused look on the man's face at seeing D'angelo reach into puffy thing, still uncertain what it even was only to have a slice of cheesecake and bottle of water shoved into his arms. Yet, what surprised him most was the fact they were chilled as if they had just been pulled out of a fridge." It's no trouble really but I can't possibly take this..." Trailing off while looking over the offered treats.

A modest attempt at refusal dismissed by a wave of D'angelo's hand with a scoffed." Nonsense! Always good to have a snack around. Well, I'll be off but I'll be back to see how that transmission turns out. Until then you have an absolutely fantastic day!" With a finger gun farwell, Nimbus rose to take off back into the sky.

A final attempt to refuse the offered items but the person didn't have a chance to get a word out before D'angelo was off." Hmph...that's a good lad and this was kind and all but..." Looking down at the plastic tin of cheesecake." I'm lactose intolerant...."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After such a meeting, D'angelo found his mood even more uplifted and cheerful; flying through the city at at a middle level of height of the skyscrapers he flew by. Bouncing lightly in place as he began humming and playing the banjo once more, ready to resume singing while making his way towards the guild.....

" Somewhere by the emerald sea

Where the moon
And water meet

Somewhere close to harmony

When the world
is sound asleep

Something's gonna bring a change

Journeys we are meant to take

Something at the edge of space

Calling us to fly away

Don't you be afraid
Everything will change

You and I
Jumping off the edge

They say dreamers never die
So, come and fly
"

Humming and rocking happily as he soon found himself reaching the guild building and began hovering slowly towards the ground in a circling manner.

" Come and fly
Come and fly away with me

We're Rising, We're falling
We'll make it through

We're climbing,
We're soaring

A thousand views

We're rising, We're falling
We'll make it through

We're climbing
We're soaring

A thousand views
"

Seeing Nimbus reaching just inches above the sky and pushed himself to stand up on the cloud as he prepared to finish his song-

"Come and fly away
Come and fly away with me

Come and fly away
come and fly away with me

Come and fly-y-y-y-y away with
"

Hopping down off Nimbus touching down with the ground with his big finish-

" Me-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e"

A kick of his hips and a stomp of his foot as he ended with a rapid strum of the banjo in a big solo finish that was all but a few notes horribly strung yet he played the hell out of the solo, not caring how bad he was.

Throwing up his right hand in a finished flair as the last echoing strum of the banjo died down with him standing there panting, beads of sweat coating his face and forehead. Lifting his head and bending back with an excited cheer." Whoo! That was awesome. You saw that, didn't you Nimbus? I totally got some of the chords there. I'm taking that as definitely killing that solo!" Laughing as he raised his right hand towards the cloud for a high five but Nimbus being a cloud just floated there.

Catching this, D'angelo grinned while lowering his hand to pat the cloud." Down low, feel the flow here we go cause Phoenix Wing we have arrived!" Spinning around in place to double point at the entrance of the building.

Not long after following the old man into the main room of the lighthouse did his nose begin tingling uncomfortably from all the pollen lingering in the air. Taking a quick look around the vast room, where he could see nothing but rows after rows of flowers; a large variety of types and colors assaulted both his eyes and nose with their overpowering vibrant colors and smells. Were he to venture deep within this building, he doubted that his nose would be able to withstand the thickly gathered pollen floating around the flowers. To his relief, the old man had taken them to the back where the trucks and carts awaited to be filled up. Upon arriving, they would meet with some woman and from the way she barked orders and snapped at the old man, Kato that it was likely she was the actual boss of this shop.

Thankful once again for Alina handling the talking and dealings concerning the job, even more so with the pollen indeed doing a number on his sensitive sinuses as mentioned. Each inhale left his nostrils burning and somewhat stuffy while his eyes were slightly tearing up as such effect could only grow worse the longer they remained. Choosing to keep his head tilted to prevent his face from being visible to hide the puffy redness of his eyes and faint sniffling though made sure to listen to the woman's explanation and details regarding their job.

A worried frown creased the corner of his eyebrows upon hearing how all the trucks were currently out which unfortunately left them having to handle the important package via a cart. He turned his head to peer over and study the cart the two of them would be pushing; taking in the details and state of the cart to make sure it wasn't faulty or little chance of it breaking down on them.

Ears flicking at the directions of keeping the tarp on and to not go sniffing flowers to which he made sure to give a light bow of the head to show each of them that he understood before rubbing a finger against his sniffling nose. Saying that he might have terrible allergies was sadly putting it lightly so he had no intention of going around sniffing or handling the flowers unless absolutely necessary and he doubted the shop would send any dangerous or harmful flowers.

And so, while Alina was trying to figure out every detail of how the two would handle the job, Menzai was pondering over some thoughts of his own. With one thought on whether to stop at a hotel for the night or to push on until night time as he took into consideration that the two of them had already walked over seven hours so he figured his companion must be quite tired already. Yet, then there was the issue of him having none of what the humans consider currency and didn't wish to make Alina pay for him and end up owing her. For the time being he might have to be the one to push the cart and let Ms. Bloomfield rest.

Then there was the second thought; one that was more concerning as he had his share of handling carts from times it had been his turn to handle such tasks. And from it, the canine had learned how dangerous and tricky it can be traveling with a weighted cart without knowing the area or paths. Lifting his gaze to see the redhead moving over to assist the workers packing the flowers and took this chance to walk up to the woman." Excuse me, m-" Cutting himself short due to his voice coming out nasally from his stuffed nose followed by him sneezing into his billowy sleeve." Forgive me, miss *sniff* the pollen is agitating my allergies as my companion said." Stating his apology while rubbing and scratching at his nose, his eyes red and puffy blinking away the bit of tears forming." Ahem! Yes, as I was about to ask. Considering as you and your workers know the area and paths. I like to inquire your input on which paths to take that are most optimal and safe." His words slightly muffled from the sleeved hand hovering by his mouth for in case he sneezed again and to avoid risk of spitting on the woman as he found his mouth salivating somewhat more heavily than usual forcing him to repeatedly wipe off his mouth and nose.

After receiving whatever info the woman or the workers she directed him to, he moved to meet with Ms. Bloomfield. Gliding over to her and the cart now packed and ready to go.

Before he could suggest what he planned only for Alina to lean in and whisper for him to pull the cart for the time being. It seemed the redhead's worry over usage of her magic lead her to the same plan he himself intended to suggest." It seems we are of like minded then. For the time being I will deal with the cart while I request for you to rest as much as you able." Nodding in agreement before bowing his head to the two workers, offering his thanks then quickly moved into position and grabbed hold of the left side of the handle to the cart. The faster they could leave, the quicker the relief for his stuffy nose. With a low grunt followed by another sneeze, the wolfkin began pushing to get the cart moving, making sure to keep in mind the direction of the wind as his nose really couldn't take much more of this; finding today to be a terrible one for his nose with that horrendous drink and now flowers.

Already proving how inconvenient his enhanced sense of smell was proving to be when something so mundane as a bad smell or pollen were capable of hindering him so much. A part of him preferring they encountered some bandit or thief over these wicked flowers.

The fox remained still within Kali's grip to avoid hurting his arm currently caught in the woman's straining grip. He could feel the pressure and tension in his arm rising with each passing second; uncertain of what the vile female would do though made sure to let her know he would make promise of his word by having tiny tinge of static crackling faintly along the trapped arm. Then he felt the increased pressure causing his body to tense up in preparation of the coming pain, his face wincing beneath the mask.

Each second ticked away like a bomb waiting to blow as Izu anticipated the intense pain soon to follow. Instead finding his arm released and shoved away, where he nearly stumbled onto the ground but caught his balance with a low grunt and stood up with a sigh." Good to see that birdbrain of yours understands the situation." His tone slightly condescending as he rolled his arm a few times finding that it was going to be sore for the night.

Much like Kali did, he was taking this chance to work on easing the the soreness of his shoulder even if just a little with some rubbing and stretching. He was flexing his clawed fingers; testing the feeling in his arm when Kali spoke up with an offer of a bargain. Hearing her proposition had him looking up at the sky to see that it was indeed about to become dark followed with an amusing talk of dangerous beasties in an attempt to sway the fox to accept her deal. Placing his hands on his hips with a tilt of the head, where he let out a low hum as if pondering over her suggestion." Hm, you got a good point there, birdy. Would be very tiresome dealing with them lurking nasties while dragging this deadweight." Motioning towards her with his thumb before shaking his head and glided over to the crouched woman.

A hand extended towards her seeming to reach for the cuffs only to find its way grabbing hold of her hair followed by a harsh pull forcing her to look up at his masked face." You must..one second." Stopping himself short with a muffled huff as he used his free hand to pull the mask off to reveal his pale face covered in beads of sweat with those bright yellow eyes faintly glowing in the growing darkness." This thing can get really stuffy for long wears.." He let out another small huff of annoyance while wiping off his face against the sleeve of his haori before tossing the mask aside on the ground for now." Now where was I? Oh yes, you were taking me for a fool." The hand keeping a grip on her hair pulled until she was forced to stand back up as the now freed hand wrapped around her slender neck with the tips of his clawed fingers resting against her smooth cheeks as the hold of her hair released." Your determination to get the cuffs off is impressive but there is one thing you keep forgetting." He leaned in closer till she could feel the heat of his breath." You're the captured criminal here!" He exclaimed, nearly spitting out the words as his other hand grabbed her arm and gave a small shake to have the cuffs clink against her bound wrists." You're the one cuffed and injured here and its my job to bring you back. And depending on how you cooperate will depend on whether you make it there alive or in good shape."

A small playful smirk curling his lips after reminding the troublesome hothead who held all the cards here. A faint roar coming from some unseen distance of the forest then reminded the fox of what she said about the beasts lurking within." Though you are correct about the creatures though of course, I can always choose to just abandon you to them and take this as a failed job. Simply have to tell the guild we got ambushed and overwhelmed." His clawed index finger gently tapped against her cheek as he told of having no qualms leaving her to the beasts as it would be no skin off his nose to let this job become a failure. A click of his teeth as he lightly dug his claws in, leaving scratches along her cheeks." I'm sure you don't want it to get to that so be a good girl and sit down and keep this horrid mouth of yours shut." Giving her cheek a small pat then returned the favor by shoving her down onto the ground." Long as we get along and don't make a fuss we will be left alone. And I'll be a nice guy and let you gather what magic you can to heal them ribs while I get a fire going. Make any attempt to get the cuffs off, however.." Wagging his finger in a no manner while letting static spark off the tip of the finger, a coy smile on the fox's face. With the hope that Kali understood, Izu moved to gather up wood, enough to make and keep a fire going for the night.

The conversation between him and this woman had helped him to gain a basic understanding of the redhead. Learning throughout the conversation that much like he, she was ever a curious one; always observing and studying the surrounding but her mannerism and reason for doing so seemed to have a more meticulous approach. She might of been of kindred soul; one that he could possibly discuss such keen observations and understanding yet something about Alina felt off. Impossible for him to make into words why, whether it be his own canine instinct putting up a tiny iota of an inkling to be wary of the redhead. Even if she gave nothing to believe such or at least nothing easily discernable as she was still a stranger to him and if given time this peculiar warning may wane. Though one thing he was thankful for; an overt curious person that didn't push for him to tell an actual story of his past or concrete personal info and for that he held respect. A tinge of relief in his own face still obscured by the hood adorned over his head. Even moreso at having the topic change with Alina telling a statement he very much agreed." A statement I wholeheartedly agree with. An evening discussing topics over magic is one we will certainly be sharing after the ordeals of the job and whatever else may entail and follow afterwards." A slight nod of the head to show and ensure this promise will be fulfilled.

With their talk ended; Menzai had been very much content to walk in silence as much like Ms. Bloomfield he could discern she was not one for much idle chatter. Another opinion he shared as he walked alongside; enjoying just having a companion besides him on a long trek for once.

Hours passed before the two eventually arrived at the town of Petunia with a single look of the small town telling him more than enough. The place while small had more quaint and inviting feel; a place that a beastkin like him would find more comfortable to settle in as it lacked the unsettling smell of smog and oil to his nose's relief. Shortly after entering the town, did he decide he would let Alina take the lead with him being an outsider in more ways than one and lacked proper experience handling the details of the job.

And so, the wolf let his stride slacken slightly to allow the redhead to walk two steps ahead of him. Stopping briefly when she asked for directions though knew the whereabouts of the warehouse before she even returned, having heard their conversation.

Not that it bothered him having to walk another short stretch with the two already traveled nearly half the day just to reach the town. As long walks never bothered the wolf and if given the chance he would be fine walking from morning to night and enjoy every moment.

Along he walked; both following and observing to learn how meetings with the clients were to be handled. Much like Alina, he found himself surprised at the size of the warehouse which proved unexpected with a part of him curious of seeing its inside but this was not the time to wander off when a job took priority.

Merely stepping into the shop lead them to meeting with the client who turned out to be a kindly old man. A friendly wrinkled face with an aged body that gave off a mild myriad scent of flowers that gave away his countless years working with flowers. He was one to normally avoid large fields of flowers; not out of disgust but simply due to the overwhelming sweet and sometime spicy scents of the flowers uncomfortably tickling or burning his nostrils. Better for him they had no need to venture deep into the warehouse, but the client was purely inviting and pleasantly warm. For the time being lightly bowed his head in greeting, choosing to be quiet unless given a question or asked for introductions.

He could only nod in agreement to her statement with his head shifting slightly towards her direction." Yes, such as it is for any outsider attempting to learn and understand the culture and politics unknown to them. Yet, I am in no rush and so can take my time in studying the mannerism and habits of humans with this festival proving optimal opportunity for such." Again the wolf gave a nod of his head after hearing the analogy exemplifying his own musing of the festival's purpose.

This had proven to be a beneficial conversation with him gleaning some details on how humans spent their time albeit partial. To garner more, he simply needed to experience the festive events himself and plans to do so after the pair finished with the safe delivery of these flowers.

So much to learn and research regarding humans and the outside world though he was free to go about it at his pace; free to enjoy himself as he did so. And even within the village, Menzai had always been one of the more perspective kins, catching and noticing things that well trained and astute eyes might fail to see.

His eyes; sharper than a hawk, filled with curiosity and mystique and always shifting to take in as much of the world around him. A gaze that took in the shape, color, size of everything that came into view in search of understanding or to find any irregularities for to him all things carried a story and at times told more than what words could convey. If not for such an observant eye, he would certainly have missed Alina's sudden strange action.

One that lasted for the briefest of a second; witnessing her body freezing as if his statement of observation took her off-guard and caused a momentary shutdown. It was peculiar to get such a reaction from simply stating her lack of interest in the festival prompting him to raise an eyebrow in an curious manner. Choosing not to push the matter, however and hoped that would be the end of it so that they could continue discussion on the surrounding event.

To his dismay, the redheaded woman instead began telling him personal details of her past. He took in a slow deep breath to keep from sighing as a part of him regretting mentioning his observation as he should of known doing so lead to these kind of personal talk. Since as a child he held an aversion over hearing others talk about their personal life or problems with the only two special exceptions being back home. Still, he was always taught to be respectful and as such made sure to listen to every word while keeping any sign of disinterest in his expression taking an effort.

Waiting for her to finish as any respectful person might do before choosing to chime in." So a family of merchants? Quite understandable why one of such upbringing such as yours gain a dislike or disdain towards big festive events that draws in big crowds of people. Having to endure waves of customers with some being less than savory at times that its no wonder such a lifestyle drains away at you." Tilting his head slightly while his right hand rose to lightly stroke at his chin to show he was pondering over what she told him while his eyes studied her over; searching for any signs that may tell him her story to be true. He wasn't doing so out of suspicions as he had no grounds or reason to do so but after learning she was brought up by merchants, something about it being off tugged at his mind though considered it to simply be nerves with traveling and being alone with a human for the first time.

And as if to make matters worse, Alina was now asking for some personal stories of his own making the struggle to keep his eyebrow or corners of his mouth from twitching rather difficult." Yes, I have been told that my eyes put even the sharpest hawk to shame, Ms. Bloomfield. An attribute I am personally proud of while others of my village would tell you to be bothersome and invasive." A slight frown creased the corners of his eyes." Though I have to say in regards to having interesting stories that you would be wrong, Ms. Bloomfield. As I can attest to having no interesting stories, at least none that would interest save but for those who hold a great interest towards the learning and studies of magic." Taking a moment to cough against his fist to clear his throat then slipped the hand back within hiding of the long sleeves folded across his chest." I am thankful in your understanding, however as it is true that I can not speak of my clan's secrets and as such only fair I do not delve into such topics considered off-limits...unless given permission that is."

" And I must state now that I am not one to talk about myself much...though will mention that I came from a caring and supportive family. Parents of which who were not happy or approving of my decision towards becoming a scholar but still accepted and helped me whenever needed." For a moment he gazed off into the forest; lost in thought as he briefly recalled the image of his parents shocked expression upon telling them his intention to set out into the open world. He blinked a few times to brush away the image before turning his attention forward once more." A life that involved countless research and preparations on humans and magic eventually leading me here traveling here besides you. Like I said, my past holds very little of interest though living as a scholar and joining fenixtear could certainly change that. "

" Then let us hope we do not come across any such individuals who give in to such paranoid thoughts and accusing others of being a criminal is no joking matter." He exclaimed with a slight hint of irritation in his voice, but soon returned to a calm and somewhat flat tone shortly after. It was clear that this beastkin wasn't one to enjoy jokes though understand that there was serious or cruel intent and so let it be even when she nearly let slip how much it amused her which his gaze didn't fail to notice.

Using the time traveling in quiet besides the woman to take in the sights and smells of the city with his nose picking up the pleasant aroma and freshly baked goods and candy and all sorts of unknown but delicious food from the various stalls being put up. They thankfully made having to endure the bitter sweat coming from the hordes of excited humans and foul exhaust from the vehicles more tolerable. As expected inhaling all these new and alien scents had him craving to partake of them in both hunger and curiosity but he was on a job and until completed all else were secondary and unimportant unless a need for such arise.

It wasn't long before they exited the town of Crocus and were trekking through the forest, no longer distracted by the crowds, sounds and smells. Now he was in a place familiar; at home where his tension melted away making the journey a more relaxing one.

While the quiet was nice; to remain so for too long might of came off rude and as such, Menzai had asked these questions. He tried to go with ones that were on topic of the current events and simple to answer though at the way Alina sighed and struggled briefly had the canine think otherwise. His ears pricked beneath the hood, the slight movement easily noticeable to one looking as a visible indication that he was listening to the redhead's explanation on the festival and its overall purpose. After listening to his acquaintance's explanation, he took her words into consideration; pondering over the royal rulers and how they watched over their citizens. From the books he has read this system of kings and nobility seemed to work well but was also a position of power that often lead to greed and corruption. It had always seemed apparent to him that giving so much power to one or two individual proved risky and dangerous though it also meant less chance of corruption compared to allowing a group to run things. No one system was perfect; each of them had their drawbacks and benefits if they succeed.

These thoughts swirled in his mind with a look of concentration on his face while a part of him always kept his senses alert for any dangers or in case of enemies attempting to attack. Finally pulling himself away from his own mind to realize how quiet he had been the past few minutes and coughed to clear his throat." Forgive me for the silence. Your words had me musing on the royal family. From what you have said, it seems humans tend to have to work quite hard for a living and as such the nobles plan these festivities and other possible as a way of distracting the populace from their daily tiresome ordeals and allow a respite of fun without worries." A curious and interesting bit of details he would be sure to write down later and made sure to store them away within his mind as he pulled his hand that had been scratching his chin in his bemusing away.

With the notes stored he turned his attention back onto her." Though throughout your explanation I have noticed the hint of disinterest in your voice. Does the festival not interest you personally, Ms. Bloomfield?" Her voice almost seemed to lack warmth even unlike those of the townfolk or of those they passed by which he made sure to give a slight bow of the head in greeting. Even as he made sure to acknowledge the unknown travelers, Menzai used his nose and sense of smell to check for any signs of risk but whereas Aline seemed to act as if they didn't exist or were worth giving attention to of which he found peculiar. Yet as he knew nothing of the woman having just met her less than an hour ago so it was not his business to inquire to as she had her own reasons.

Unlike Alina, who was stressing over trying to come up with a concrete plan, Menzai was content with seeing how things go. Not that he didn't enjoy thinking up plans ahead of times but he also found that simply going with the flow often garnered interesting results. And there was the fact this was a very simple and straightforward delivery quest with little risk of danger so he saw no need to fret over the details regarding how they would get the flowers to its destination. It also meant the two could take it easy; allowing him a better observation of the town and its folks daily going on and even more interesting in thanks to the ongoing festival going on currently.

" Correct I much prefer avoiding the unwanted stares and attention altogether. As it will make things easier generally. " A small nod of the head; thanking the redhead for her understanding. He then gave the hood a firm tug to adjust and ensure it was properly covering the furry ears which were flickering from the various sounds of footsteps and somewhat uncomfortable roaring of vehicles driving along pavement. Humans were lucky to not have his hearing for he couldn't imagine in living in such an obnoxiously loud place yet he had no choice but to try and tune out what he can and get used to the booming and rank fumes they let out.

A slight discomforting twitch of his nose though a far more welcomed odor compared to the stench of that mysterious drink. A shiver ran down his back upon being reminded of the smell until he heard Ms. Bloomfield's displeasing comment causing him to raise an eyebrow." A criminal? Absolutely not!" He answered bluntly; offended at the mere accusation." I assure you that I am in no way whatsoever a criminal. And if all it takes for humans to think one to be such is a hood then they are quick to paranoid judgement." Scoffing at the mere notion as for why one chooses to wear one are reasons of their own and their business.

Folding his arms across the chest with his hands settled back within the sleeves." That should be all then." With a shake of the head, he walked alongside Aline, having learned the location they were heading to be a fair bit of walk after having asking for further details that she gained from Torys." Hm, seeing that quest has stated nothing about urgency then going at our own pace will be fine." He was more than fine going at a casual pace to take in the sights.

Travel to Petunia city was quiet and easygoing as expected with conversation from Menzai would consist of questions regarding human customs and way of life." The townfolk all seem rather excited and worked up over this festival which is in celebration to the prince's birthday. Are these festivals over the royal family common? And do they take good care of the citizens? " These were just a few of the questions he had in mind over the current events taking place.
