Tristan Glory

Tristan felt proud of the speech he had given as he could see the effect it had on his Murkrow who was suddenly trembling with a look of fear in his eyes." Yes, I know that my mere presence can be intimidating but you have nothing to fear from me as long as you don't fail me." Nodding with that smug grin when he felt the rush of breath air against the back of his neck prompting him to turn to see some kind of vicious three headed beast levitating and looming behind him.

A raise of the brow while folding his arms across his chest though before he could open his mouth the pokedex turned on to reveal info on Hydreigon as the part about biting thing in particular got his attention." Do you mind? Your breath stinks and I have no breath mints though I'd probably need a pack for each of those mouth." Waving his left hand in front of his nose; next moment he found himself being lifted up by the scruff of his shirt, the realization of what was happening made his eyes go wide in horror." Oi! Get your filthy mitts off!" He struggled and kicked in the air as he found himself being carried out from the lab as King gave a panicked caw before flying after.

He landed with a pained grunt then quickly sat up checking over the collar of his shirt." You horrid beast! You left bite marks on my limited series cashmere shirt! Do you even have any inkling of how much this worth?!" Growling out his frustration while glaring at the dragon pokemon which responded by hissing at him with all three heads then went back inside." You get back here lizard breath! And bring that sandpaper skinned owner of yours out here! I expect compensation for these damages!" Tristan scowled out with a shake of his fist; hardly taking notice of King having landed on the ground besides him until a few seconds later who would receive the focus of his scowling glare." And you...you just let that lizard brute manhandle me?! Starting to wonder if you really are king material." Still fuming at the horribly rude manner he was treated as he went on to inspect and fixed his slightly disheveled hair to soothe himself, ignoring the murkrow flapping its wings in a panicking manner and cawing while bowing its head rapidly as if trying to apologize.

With a huff the silver haired teen pushed himself off the ground and dusted off his pants." Tch, whatever. Clearly the people around these parts lack any concept of manners on how to treat their betters." Grumbling as he adjusted his shirt; agitated to see it all wrinkled and damp with dragon spit." This isn't over you sleep deprived geezer! Expect to receive my drycleaning bill for this!" He spat out loudly to ensure he was heard while pointing at the door then turned away swiping his hand in a cutting motion." Cease your insistent cawing you blathering birdbrain!" His biting words got King to quickly stop as those wings covered its beak.

Tristan gave a weary sigh while rubbing at his temple once more." Ugh, this day has been absolutely dreadful...and I fear it shall only get worse from here." Glancing down at the bird and his traveling pack and was once again reminded he had no access to the Glory account nor had Chives here to carry his back for him causing the teen to lean forward in a dejected manor sighing once more. After waiting another moment to gather himself did he move to pick up his pack and as expected found himself struggling even to pick it up at first as it took a good couple minute to get it onto his back which he swore heard a crack as it weighed down so much that he could barely hold himself up." Oh Arceus! How can anyone endure such torture?!" Standing on shaky legs panting with beads of sweat dripping down his face. Struggling to get himself steady and after two minutes felt he was ready to try moving." Hmph, well no point wasting our time here. Better to get going and be rid of the eyesore domicile of that foul professor." Scoffing with a sneer as he held up the pokedex to inspect the map only to find that it read like a bunch of gibberish to him.

It became quickly apparent that Tristan had no idea of how to read a map as he flicked over the screen, annoyed." How can anyone expect to read this garbled mess? Tch, whatever..." Grumbling once more; wanting more than anything to go on a shopping spree to forget about the awful affair and way he was treated, but he wouldn't even be able to buy a single sock with the pitiful change in his pocket." Guess I'll just check the pokemart...and hope this hick town has something of actual worth like something for this migraine." Rubbing at his forehead while exhaling slowly as he set off with the pokedex in hand trying to use it to find his way to the pokemart though his horrible direction sense had Tristan find himself at the park.

Tristan Glory

For most about to become a trainer this would be considered one of the most exciting days ever with the prospect of an adventure awaiting them and getting their very first pokemon. Tristan, however, found himself in quite the the sour mood as he stood there amongst the group of freshly recruited trainers which he found to be quite the weird gathering of rabble as none of them were the kind of sort one such as him would dare to associate with. But they were not the reason for the young rich teen's unpleasant mood though did nothing to help it; no, it was due to a number of reasons like the pounding headache assaulting his temple and the jetlag from spending more 15 hours traveling from the kalos region to here, via first class only of course.

Yet, the true culprit ultimately had to do with the little meeting shortly prior to entering this building with the long-served family butler not only denying allowing him to bring Chives, his personal servant also along on his travels and leaving him to have to lug around his own pack, but even took away his card to the Glory account which has never left his side upon the moment he received it. Now how was he supposed to get his mousse hair gel and milotic galore skin cream? And the items needed for his traveled (hardly of any priority in his mind to say the least) though the pitiful change allotted to him wouldn't afford even a stick of bread from the restaurant he typically dined at.

Still fuming at both being denied his right and talked down to like he was a child, were it not for the fact they were the orders directly from his father he would give that frumpy old bastard several choice words and letting him look bad in public probably had a hand in Tristan holding his tongue.

The fact he found himself here was purely because he took a brief interest and some strange woman approaching him advising him to accept her sudden offer to become a trainer. He originally had no intention of coming, that is until his father also highly recommend, he do so with the chance of finally doing something to earn the rights to the Glory name and by working to become a pokemon champion stand alongside his older highly successful brothers. For a moment his body shuddered as it took biting his lip to keep from breaking out in cold sweat as he briefly recalled the last image of his father's face before setting off; cold and cruel eyes that betrayed that small smile almost as if to tell him that failure simply was not an option.

A shake of the head to shake off the second bout of shudder wanting to forget that image nor did he want to risk blemishing his skin that has gone through hours meticulous care. Almost thankful to actually hear the dour tone of the sleep deprived professor speaking up to pull him from his thoughts.

Almost, he thought as he simply could not bring himself to look at the man; hair all disheveled and horribly mismanaged and skin all dirty and greasy. The worse of it were those heavy shadows beneath his eyes...dear god did this man have no concept whatsoever about skin care? Even thinking to look at this old geezer's face had Tristan cringing and fighting back an urge to vomit. Opting instead to keep his shades covered eyes on the phone held in his hands, the phone obviously of the latest model not yet on the market which he was currently texting his 'bestie' Trevor.

Only half listening to Professor Kapoc who might as well be living in a cardboard box by the state of him as he prattled on about this being a great opportunity and blah blah blah. His attention pulled away only briefly upon the sudden entrance of that strange woman from before as the manner she coyly flirted with the assistance briefly brought an amused smirk to his devilishly handsome face. An amusement ruined the instant Kapoc spoke up once more and started going on regarding something about some id card and pokedex causing him to roll his eyes while turning his eyes to the two items described. Keeping his own phone in his left hand as the right reached for the pokedex made in design similar to that of a typical iphone and while the model was of the latest line it still looked a tad disapproving. But, without his card he no longer had a way to afford his phone's insanely expensive plan leaving him no choice but to forego using it save for very limited uses, at least for the time being and bid Trevor farewell for the moment which his friend responded with a typical tort remark. The guy did not hold back at all in letting him know how ridiculous and laughable it was to let Tristan of all people be a trainer.

Gritting his teeth while clutching the phone in his hand as he stared at the insulting message. * Just you wait, Trevor. I'll make you eat your words and that pitifully cheaply handled nose job of yours! * Scowling with his frustrated thoughts as he pocketed the phone not wanting to bother with it any further at the moment. Instead putting his focus on getting the pokeball containing the shiny Murkrow he had selected and held the ball up, turning it between his fingers." There..are we done now? I got places to be and..." Tilting his head with an exasperated sigh and in doing so ended up getting a good look at Kapoc's face and quickly turned his head away, hand to his mouth to fight back a gag." And things to do.... plus, your voice and face nausates me." Muttering that last bit under his breath as he then turned to pull away from the group intending to have nothing to do with any of them, making his way to a secluded portion of the lab where he would call out the murkrow.

With a zap of a red beam out came the purple feathered Murkrow crowed with a rising flap of its wings; standing there in place majestically bringing a smile to Tristan's lips." Hmph, that old flop of a professor mentioned shinies offer nothing but those are just the words of jealous losers. It's only fitting that I, a Glory get a shiny starter." Laughing obnoxiously while flipping the bang of silky smooth silver hair covering his right eye as Murkrow could only help but let out an uncertain cawing in a manner of nervous laughter following its trainer. In the next instant Tristan pointed his right index finger at the brightly violet bird.

" How lucky for you to have found yourself under the guise of I, Tristan Glory. A born champion that in turn will conquer this league with this champion in the making before me.
" Laughing once more while placing his hands on his hips; standing in a victory pose with a smug smirk." With nothing but weak rabble before us, victory will be quick and sweet. So now I deem you the name worthy of a pokemon associated with one fabulous and great as I... King!" Exclaimed while bending his head back looking up at the ceiling." We will soar high into the sky and take over this nation until all are blessed by glory." tilting his head back down and pulling off his shades to give a dazzling smile matched with a sparkle of his visible eye.

" Only the top awaits us kings. So do not fail me." That dazzling smile almost overshadowing the underlying threat in his words and whether King noticed or understand it did not show as the bird crowed out in a loudly proud fashion as if motivated and swayed by Tristan's so called passionate speech, even seeming to shed a tear from being so moved and in awe.

The relief on her face at the prospect of resting was palpable while she did not seem to mind too much that they spent nearly a day traveling to and back. Even when the two had to pull the cart on their return trip and she was still able to keep going as even if the cart wasn't overtly heavy with its content being flowers, but the rocking and uneven pathways aided and wearing down any pulling it. The red haired woman did not seem like she had a body built with such stamina though the human male she had turned into possibly had a hand in her increased stamina; a sign her magic purely looks from what she has shown while in this form and from her explanation. His curiosity was easily piqued; certain to inquire more about Alina and the intricacies of her magic in detail when they were free.

" I am relieved to hear that you are well though I wish to state caution on avoiding the state and health of your body. Exhaustion could be a detriment and risk to both your health and allies. Thankfully, this job carries little danger, but a simple warning for in the future." He advised with a small nod of his head.

With the decision to stop settled, Menzai kept himself busy with setting up his barrier along the small clearing. Seeing no need to use an overtly powerful barrier when they were so close to the city leaving little worry of dangerous individuals appearing, not that they would bother to rob flowers. With only animals as the only possible threat and even then unlikely as few would venture so close to the city save for tiny critters and truly desperate. Putting up this barrier was more to allow Ms. Bloomfield to sleep without worry and to keep bothersome insects from getting into the flowers as something within still gave him some small sense of danger which he simply accrued to nerves.

Before long the barrier encompassed the clearing; semi see through red walls that stood strong and solid yet when Alina touched it, ripples akin to touching water spread out that eventually faded away. Taking a moment to inspect his barrier to make sure there was no holes or weak links in any of the marks he inscribed which had been kept simple before turning attention to Alina having heard her praise, taking notice that she had shifted back to her original form. (assuming this was her original)" Thank you, Ms Bloomfield. Though this barrier is far from my best, but this should be enough as there are little chance of threats but I am of the thought of...better safe than sorry? Is that the expression?" He mused in the hopes he used what he has read correctly here while rubbing at his chin briefly in a pondering manner.

Turning his attention back to her where he would nod his head in understanding." Hm, if I find myself needing sleep then I will be sure to do so. But, for now I will keep watch so be at ease and rest." Giving a half bow of his body before jumping up; forming small platform barriers, the wolfkin jumped his way up to a large branch halfway up the tree where he sat down with his back against the partially rough trunk. There, he sat with his senses letting him keep watch and observing the surrounding.
D'angelo Schultz

He drifted along atop Nimbus a short distance behind Ariel and the woman who he didn't know as he didn't want to be rude and interrupt their conversation. Being distracted anyway with thoughts on why Nolan would cut their grand meeting so short when it was the first time finally seeing each other all these years. Sitting there, arms folded across his chest; body tilting left and right slightly and cheeks puffed up in the same manner of an angry child while his right foot rocked against the golden cloud beneath him." Tch, can you believe the nerve of him? And after all that traveling and epic speech making I did for our reunion? ....I may not be able to remember said speech, but it was going to be legendary...legendary I tell you!" He stated boldly while pointing a finger down at the cloud which he could of sworn shifted like one giving an exasperated sigh and roll of the eye.

" Hmph, well I hope he doesn't expect to get another hug from me again next time we run into each other...or at least won't be a big hug....fine I will just give him an even bigger hug!" Scoffing while giving a nod of his head after making this promise.

Turning his head to see that the pair had taken notice of him or should he say trio since Ethel was there too, swimming within those thick, fluffy alluring tails. That pouty expression turning into his ever warm big smile as he floated over to the group, momentarily distracted by those tails again having to fight the urge to dive into them...again that he missed Trinity moving to hide herself behind the fluff which he figured just to enjoy their fluffy goodness more." Hey there again, Ariel. And that I am seeing cuz rather go fight than give his dear old cousin a minute of attention." Turning away briefly to mutter his annoyance under his breath before turning back." So hope you don't mind my tagging along and I'd certainly love to hear some stories of his time with the guild." Nodding with that grin widening with an almost cheeky hint to it.

Tilting his head upon having the other woman introducing herself as Trinity who asked him how he made Nolan mad which only made him confused." Mad? Not sure what you're talking about, it was just a friendly headbutt greeting. Guess that's just his way of greeting others..not much of a hugger probably." Tapping at his forehead twice which was still a bit red from the strike." And hey there, I'm D'angelo Schultz! Good to meet another friend of cuz. So going to this exhibition yeah?!" Leaning forward on the cloud; still very much annoyed at Nolan but how could he pass up a chance to watch him fight and show off his awesome skills and in person this time?

D'angelo waved to the departing Ariel as he could practically feel his body trembling with excitement from not only finally meeting his supposed dead cousin, but also at the prospect of getting to hear the story of how they got together." I definitely look forward to hearing all the fun stories!" He called out to the girl, finding his gaze following the sway of those fluffy tails where he could see Ethel getting all cozy in them which once again made him jealous.

He turned to Nolan and was happy to hear him asking if he was ok which he scoffed with a sputter of his lips and hands placed on his wide doughy hips." Don't worry about me, cuz! You could throw a train at me and I'd bounce right back up." His right hand playfully slapped against his own belly causing it to jiggle and almost ripple like jelly, his challenging statement an obvious exaggeration or at least he thought it to be considering he never tried or attempted to go jumping in front of a rushing train. And for a moment he tilted his head actually pondering on testing such, but quickly shook his head with a dismissive wave of the hand." Nah...even for me that's stupid." He muttered and thought aloud to himself with another laugh.

" It really is great to see you alive and in good health, cuz! There's so much to ca-" Unable to finish what he was saying due to Nolan suddenly cutting in that he had to go; telling him about some exhibition match and to meet back up with Ariel....who just left before he went rushing off.

He was momentarily stunned as he blinked repeatedly at the sight of Nolan running off." I...but you....what the heck?! Got dang it you get that handsome butt back here! We just met back up after ten years....I had a whole gosh darn emotional speech prepared and everything!" He bellowed out with a stamp of his foot and flailing his arms up and down while he called out to him, his chubby cheeks puffing out like a child throwing a tantrum.

How could he just cut their reunion short?! He had half a mind to go and tackle Nolan down to keep him from getting away as this was suppose to be a very touching and emotional meeting with hugs aplenty and slow clapping that ensues into applause echoing throughout the room!

His face continued to puff up and redden until it was almost the shade of a tomato. At any moment D'angelo looked about ready to blow....then exhaled while leaning his body forward with a sigh." Ah well, what can ya do? Already waited ten years, what's another few hours, am I right?" Turning his head to call Nimbus only to find the cloud had been floating right next to head having his face push into the fluffy gold cloud. This had him go into a bit of a coughing fit as he waved his hand to push the cloud back." *cough* Ugh! How many times have I told you not to do that! You trying to suffocate me?!" Grumbling at the cloud, seeing it rumble as if laughing at him.

An exasperated sigh spilled out of his mouth as he bent his chubby body forward then back doing a bit of stretching while trying to figure out what to do next." Things were going so well too! And now I have no idea where Ariel got too..." Motioning with his right hand to have Nimbus lower till it was nearly touching the ground to make it possible for D'angelo to plop onto the cloud where he folded his arms and legs.

Humming to himself briefly, fingers tapping against his doughy arm." Guess I should do what cuz said...getting to see him fight and show off his skills firsthand would be awesome." Tilting his body left and right as he thought out his next plan of action before clapping his hands." Alright! The search for the tailed beauty..begins!" Rubbings his hands together as he had a cloud shaped submarine periscope form just above his head." Lower the periscope!" He ordered with a raise of his right index fingers pointed upwards as the cloudy periscope lowered within reach for his hands to grip the handlebars as he pressed his eyes to the visor.

The chubby male had Nimbus slowly rotate in place as he scanned the perimeter while making a radar beeping sound as he did so. As he turned, he could see a good number of people in the hall, eventually spotting a good sizeable group standing at the bar where a most enticing and delicious aroma had been wafting from." Hm...nope, no Ari-..hello!" Catching sight of a girl who wasn't Ariel yet also having furry tails and ears bringing a wide smile to his face as he glanced down at the cloud." Nimbus! There's another girl with tails! And they're extra fluffy...man I'd love to pet them." Shaking his head as he peered back into the periscope only to gasp upon catching sight of another exceed...and this one had tails..with flames on the tips!" No way?! Oh-ho maaan..I so badly want to see if they burn at the touch." Getting so drawn in at seeing the second fluffy tailed girl and exceed that he didn't even notice Nimbus slowly drifting towards the bar at first.

Upon noticing he was drifting towards the bar he had thrown up his hands." Whoa, hold it now!" As badly as he wanted to meet the two and see about getting to pet some tails, but doing so would likely have him lose track of things as who wouldn't be able to resist such cute..fluff. Shaking his head as he had to put up his hands again to stop the drifting cloud once more." No! Focus! The fluff can wait....Finding Ariel and getting to this exhibition match comes first." Placing his closed right fist on his left palm with a determined expression as he forced himself to turn away and finish scanning the guild hall.

" Hm, I don't see her anywhere..so either she's gone deeper into the building which if so I can't go to or..." Turning his attention to the door leading outside which was really the only other place he could look." Onward, mighty Nimbus! To the great outdoors we go!" Pointing his finger towards the door in dramatic fashion while doing a mock bugle horn with his left hand acting like he was about to venture off onto a grand adventure...floating at a slightly less than moderate pace towards the door as he kept up his dramatic pointing at the door the entire way, eventually pushing his way outside to find the very person he sought talking with a person he didn't know who were discussing about some case.

" Avast! Ye lady abound after a most perilous search indeed." He exclaimed to himself; floating and bobbing his way over to the group where he then came to a stop a short distance away not wishing to interrupt their conversation for the time being.

Things have thankfully settled down once the uncertainty and misunderstanding of Alina's magic were handled and seeing his companion back in his(her) usual demeanor with a slight cheeriness helped put the wolf at ease. Or at least somewhat, his body still partially tense and somewhat cautious state which was what Menzai tended to be at all times as the only time he felt safe to be fully relaxed were to be back at the village or the forest surrounding it.

Besides the small strains of his arms and low grunts barely more than mutters from pushing the cart, he was handling the pushing well with only a bead of sweat forming every now and then before evaporating; a good thing they were moving flowers as he lacked the strength that Alina's copied person carried, though he lacked power in muscles he excelled in stamina allowing him to keep going even after having literally walked the entire day. Both from his travel to the guild then to Petunia town then back again; those long walks with pulling carts and meditating have truly shown results for the wolfkin.

His gaze turned partially from the road to the transformed Alina upon hearing her speak of how most tended to react upon learning or witnessing her magic which often lead to them avoiding the female." Unfortunate that these people have chosen such an extreme decision when such a magic as yours is quite the interesting rarity. Yet, I can also understand why one would not wish to have their appearance copied or taken, especially without knowledge of one doing so for there are countless things said person could do. In the hands of a person less trustworthy, they might do things that could ruin the life of the copied person or simply the thought of someone traveling in their image to be unsettling." Turning his attention back onto the road as he spoke, his tone back to its usual calm somewhat flat manner with a hint of curiosity which always came out when discussing topics of magic." This copy or imitation magic fascinates me more than anything, but perhaps it is best the ability to gain the person's memories as such an invasion of privacy is horrible to think of and I doubt you would enjoy the thought of someone learning and knowing every single thing about you to the kind of thoughts you have to the secrets you may carry deep in your mind too dangerous or personal to be known." Peering over at the currently taller male form Alina, studying his(her) face as he spoke this last bit.

" But I do not see you using or abusing such an intriguing magic. The matter of its usage and applications...truly a magic to be proud of. Perhaps though, giving a forewarning before doing so may help to lessen the reaction of those new to your magic." A small smile briefly cracked his lips in amusement finding his own reaction a tad overzealous after thinking back considering he was always eager to witness and study any magic.

Hour after hour past until they were well into the night spent trekking through the forest pushing the cart of flowers which faintly rumbled and creaked behind them. Menzai had used the quiet to focus his hearing and nose on searching out for any signs of possible threats when Alina spoke up suggesting that perhaps they stop for the night and while he could of continued on to finish the delivery yet it had slipped his mind or that he wrongly had the assumption Ms. Bloomfield held the stamina he does.

He slowed to a stop and took a moment to take a proper look around; finding that they were in a small clearing, the trees offering some protection against the nightly chilly breeze and the only sounds be that of small insects and nocturnal birds flying about. Ahead, his flicking ears could faintly hear the sounds of activity still active even this late from Crocus, telling that they were only an hour or so away. A trek easy to complete for certain, but Alina had a good point that the shop they were delivering to was likely to be closed and by looking up at the sky could see the sun would be rising in a few hours from now.

" Yes, it probably is best to stop here. And I must apologize for continuing on for so long. It was wrong of me to expect to get this done in one day's trip or that you could travel for so long with little rest." He turned away from the bar, folding his arms into his sleeves to offer an apologetic bow to her." Please get the rest needed as I will keep watch to make up for such rudeness to you, Ms. Bloomfield." Bowing his head to her once more then he stepped away from the cart, walking along the edge of the clearing they were nestled in where he would be seen placing a small white tag inscribed with a rune on four separate trees at each end of said clearing.

Upon placing the last one and raising his right hand up, the runes would glow a faint red as a crimson red barrier formed and rose around the perimeter of the clearing enveloping both Alina and the cart, taking on the shape of rectangle at half the trees height." With this, I have erected a barrier. Please be at ease and rest without worry though if you find the barrier uncomfortable then I can undo it." He spoke while touching and inspecting the barrier as the spots his hand touched gave off a rippling effect as if touching water while inside the barrier she would notice the chilly breeze had ceased with the barrier able to be adjusted in a multitude of ways which offered protection not just from threats but from the weather.
Menzai Isanami

@lunarlord34

Menzai's reaction might of been seen as a bit overreacting to other mage users, but one that he felt necessary due to unknown risk of her mysterious magic too high for his comfort. If there was even the smallest inkling of a chance something could bring danger to his tribe then he would take defensive action to be at the ready to deal with whatever said threat may be. And while Alina's magic was not enough to call for use of his magic; creating a distance felt to be the best case until he gleaned the information to assure him enough that there was no danger.

And so the wolfkin remained crouched low to the ground, his once tense body lessening upon seeing the burly male supposedly to be Alina have their body droop down a bit akin to one feeling hurt or sad. His sharp gaze remained fixed on the transformed guild member as he was unable to answer the question asked for he had no answer, considering he knew too little of the woman to properly gauge what kind of person Alina was. Yet, from the way she had carried herself, spoke and treated others in particular the previous travelers they had encountered earlier that day. As while Menzai was indifferent and was hardly one to show emotion, he still offered a respectful proper greeting whereas hers felt..cold and calculating.

As he remained crouch, listening to the turned Alina tell of the hostile and harsh manner in how others often took in witnessing her magic. But, it was not that he found her magic terrifying or horrible; far from it as he found it most fascinating and even more so after learning what exactly her magic was. His reaction and worries were solely to the possibility that she could gain the copied's memories and as she demonstrated by changing back to her original form. A process while grotesque was also interesting to see as he showed no movement to look away for even a second as the method of this imitation or copy magic needed to be properly described and detailed for even their records had little on such magic.

No longer seeing or sensing any sign of danger that he chose to stand up where he found himself looking once more at the redhaired female albeit wearing overly baggy clothes that she had to hold up herself. A comical sight that might of made most others chuckle, but he simply observed Ms. Bloomfield with a straight face, head tilting a bit in a curious manner causing the hood which had thankfully remained over his head to shift a bit in doing so.

Her explanation left him intrigued and curious; strings of questions purely about the magic filled his mind though he knew this to not be the time to discuss them. At least for now, his suspicions were satisfied, albeit not completely.

Simply being told that her magic didn't gain her the person's memories was not enough as he could not afford to take everything a person told him to be at face value. But, on the part that it did not harm the one copied he was content on as he saw nothing that showed otherwise and the fact that were she to lie on this especially would not do to look good for the woman at all.

It did seem strange to him how humans could give such reactions to become volatile and hostile when the knowledge of magic and human mages seeming to be a common one. Then again, he figured few could stand to watch such an unappealing way of transforming as well as he would.

Whatever the case, he was satisfied enough to no longer see Alina to be a threat though of the humans he has since met, she was one he felt the need to be wary of especially. Nothing she said or did indicated such wariness, but her mannerism and approach just seemed...off.

And hearing the extra bit she added on after having transformed back into the burly individual helped to put him back to his usual partially guarded state. If it indeed also required some form of compatibility then this would make sense as the makeup of his body and dna were not entirely human though this also left him with a bit of a doubt for he lacked the intel on the extent of what she can and cannot copy.

The last bit that Ms. Bloomfield stated in understanding if he no longer wished to talk with her or wanted anything to do with the woman was a strange thing to hear. With a flick of his arms to brush the bits of grass from the long sleeves, Menzai quietly strode his way along the cart, where he took a moment to double check the tarp to make sure none had come undone before continuing on to step up to the bar next to the transformed, taller Alina male to begin pushing at the cart." I assure you that I meant no offense nor do I have any intention or desire to prevent any future interactions with you, Ms. Bloomfield. My reaction were not out of hate or malice, but for the self preservation and protection of my tribe. The lack of understanding the ways of your magic simply had too many unknown variables for me to risk any chance of having the secrets I carry to be taken." Peering over at the person besides him, taking in the way the muscles of limbs moved or how the scent of this male persisted without any hint of Alina's presence.

" For now I am satisfied that there is no risk and you do not seem to be the type to misuse these copies though I hope you understand that I still prefer in taking no attempts of copying me." A nod of his head to show there was an understanding between the two of them as he turned his attention forward." And to refer to your magic as cheap imitation lessens the wondrous fascination and capabilities for it is by no means an easy feat to not only change one's appearance and voice..but their scent especially. Having said such, I most look forward to discussing these topics with you when everything has been finished." Having said everything he planned to, he resumed pushing on the bar, giving a low grunt in doing so.

And with the combined efforts of Menzai with his seemingly endless stamina and Alina's gained strength of the burly individual that their travels with the cart improved greatly.
D'angelo Schultz

@lunarlord34 @hatakekuro @twave

The world melted away around him as the only thing D'angelo could sense or feel was the presence of Nolan being hugged against him and his damp shirt. A very familiar and warm presence that let him know this man was indeed his cousin he thought to be dead all these years as the worries of this ending up a case of mistaken identity was crushed much like the person unfortunately trapped within his bear hug.

He failed to notice Nolan's discomfort and frustration at suddenly getting hugged as the chubby cloud mage was overwhelmed with happiness and relief. And on his pudgy face, the biggest and happiest smile as he wanted to let out an elated giddy laugh to let his doubts pour away much like the rain his cloud companion drenched him with.

His mind whirled with questions and stories and so much more he thought to never get a chance to say were now possible. And to come here and find him surrounded by friends and happy with a girlfriend very nearly brought him to tears for the first time in over a decade but for this very moment he wanted nothing more than to just enjoy hugging his once best and dear friend.

A moment that proved to be fleeting indeed for when he felt Nolan's hands rest on and grip at his shoulders which prompted him to lift his head to look up into his cousin's bespectacled eyes.

Then things briefly went black for him upon suddenly receiving a headbutt smash against his forehead. With the blow taking the unprepared D'angelo off-guard, his grip was easily broken as his larger somewhat heavyset body was flung downward where it slammed hard against the hardwood floor with a thumping crack though his body would end up bouncing up a bit before settling back onto the floor.

His body lie there unmoving; at least for a few seconds before he gasped out followed by a delighted laugh as his right hand shot up to his now redden forehead." Holy cow! You really are strong!" A wide toothy grin forming as he showed to be mostly unfazed save but for the red spot on his forehead and a minor lightheaded buzzing even though he took a strike that likely would of knocked out a normal person.

He placed his hands on his hips while still remaining on the floor after hearing the confused Nolan questioningly state his name." Ah hah! So you do remember me! And here I thought I had been forgotten." He exclaimed with a Clap of the hands in victory then folded his arms across his chest with an confirming nod causing the back of his head to lightly thump against the partially cracked floorboards beneath him." And that was one solid headbutt you gave there, Cuz. I give a solid 8 out of ten!" Lifting his arms up to give a double thumbs up while snickering to himself.

Tilting his head back to look upside down up at Ethel who was still buried in Ariel's tails after hearing her accuse him making absurd claims of which he huffed his nose too. In a movement surprisingly agile for a man of his size and weight, D'angelo had sprung up onto his feet in a spinning motion to point a finger at the hooded girl." Excuse you, miss Ethel. This weirdo takes offense to such accusations. Am I delusional? Unless that leprechaun sitting on Ethel's head isn't real then maybe and I take being called a weirdo as a compliment thank you very much, but if there is one thing I refuse to accept and that is being considered a liar!" Wagging his right finger with a tsk tsk of the tongue.

He then slid over to wrap an arm around Nolan's Shoulder to hug him to his side till they were next to each other." I would never dare to claim falsely to be related to such a great man like Nolan Waltz of which I am honored and privileged to be cousins with." A partially serious expression on his face as he stated such before returning to his happy goofy expression as he pushed his head close to Nolan's." Besides, just look at the two of us. Like looking at a mirror! Well except Cuz got all the looks considering this lucky fella got himself such a lovely woman like Miss Ariel here. Also, again very delighted to meet you."

A flair wave of the hand as he bowed his upper body with the hand on Nolan's shoulder helping to keep him from falling over." I am D'angelo Schultz, cousin of Nolan." Speaking in a playful formal tone before standing back up laughing." And it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." Turning his head to the side with an exhaling scoff." But man..talk about a surprise this turned out to be. Never could of imagined my cuz to grow up to be quite the lady killer, eh?" Pulling the hand from Nolan's shoulder to do a light playful bout of punching on his cousin's shoulder while chuckling.
