The boy makes bigger steps by the day, and Lyun acknowledges so by nodding at his words. The voices from beyond the creek grow louder as they close the distance, though another cadre of bandits blocks the way.

Lyun steps through the now dilapidated village, raising his heavy axe in a swift wood-splitting motion, detaching the bandit from their ill-gotten gains - and their arm with it.

Lyun: "..."

There is a definite advantage in not having to rush towards the enemy to claim victory for oneself and though the Hellions press the charge, these brigands manage to hold ground for now.

Lyun: "Ashür...!"

The brute pierces the brigand's defenses, hoping that proves enough of an opening for his comrade's magicks to finish the job. Among the clanging of blades and the shifting of bodies, however, Ashür needs a few more seconds to ensure his flame strikes true without harming Lyun on its path forward.

With only the distant sounds of conflict to inform their approach, Lyun wordlessly follows Ashür's example. The Hellions have no idea still of what is waiting for them upriver, and while aiding the common folk is often a boon - for both their pockets and souls - such a skirmish is a golden opportunity for the young ones to learn.

Lena: "Assume formation, soldiers! Lancers, ready your shields! Bowmen, lock onto your targets! We cannot allow these rebels to step over everything we've built, over our people, our freedom, our hearts!"

Everyone: "Yes, ma'am!"

Alma: "Y-yes, ma'am..."

Thoroughly entranced by their country's and their lady's passion, all of Chronos soldiers start lining up for the inevitable clash with Rados' forces. They may fall as individuals, but they take pride in their sacrifice, a fall that will surely crush the opposition on the way down.

The priest tries to maintain her composure, but her uneasiness shows in her stuttering steps.

Tanja: "Yes, Lady Alma?"

Alma: "Oh, uhm, it's nothing. Thank you for your concern, Tanja."

The bowman stands tall, eyes unmoving from the rebels in the distance.

Tanja: "Worry not, Lady Alma, we would gladly give our lives to ensure your safety."

Everyone: "Yes, ma'am!"

The assault is over. A single Kassite stands, drawing breath still, defiantly refusing defeat. The brute moves with heavy footsteps, made heavier by his wounds, gesturing for Ninil and Makeen to clear the way. Once him and his kin are face to face, the bowman is lifted by his leather harness and tossed backward. Back, towards the middle of the band and - specifically - towards the young spearman.
