Pizza is a main course, but is also a pie. Therefore, I can eat pizza as my meal and have another pizza as my dessert.

Bio

I am Searat
Half sea, Half rat, All Aqueous Rodent.

My role playing career is something i consider as a hobby of some sort but as to how long i have been role playing, I would say that i have three to four years under my belt. (Though most of the times I was role playing, they were nothing as serious as this and were more of a means to relieve stress with my friends or test out ideas that came to mind with them.)

As for my preferences to genres of role play, I would have no biases nor specific preferences to any genre and would be able to adapt to the genre as best I can when placed into it.

Some of my hobbies consist of: playing games, surfing the web, walking, bowling, darts, and cooking. I sometimes write and draw things but not as much to consider it to be a serious hobby.

"A spell you say?" Rudolph's eyebrow arched as the red haired warrior suggested a strategy on passing the Thousand Year Old Woods without incurring the wrath of the natives that call those woods home. He could mass polymorph them...but without his wand, he'd be eyeballing the amount of mana he puts into the spell. Best case scenario being that they stay in their new forms for a few hours, worst being that they permanently stay that way for the foreseeable future. He couldn't risk that to good folk. The half-elf takes a glance at the dragoness in human form. Well...mostly good folk. But maybe he can splice two spells he was more familiar with and turn it into a new spell? It had no guarantee that it would work but at least it wouldn't be permanent if it fails.

Clapping his hands together, the wizard begins to speak. "Okay...we have two options. One, I cast mass polymorph and turn us all into bonafide wild elves. Problem is I don't have my wand and there's a good chance that we'll permanently stay as wild elves until we get back to Lorenstad or find me a proper catalyst strong enough to handle a counter-spell strong enough to reverse a permanent polymorph. Second option is that I use my knowhow on two relatively basic spells and splice them together to make a new spell. Catch is I don't know how long this makeshift mass disguise illusion spell would last or even if it would work at all. Plus if them treehoppers decide to investigate us, up close and personal, they'll likely see through the illusion." Rudolph takes a pause to rub his hands together before putting them down. "So, what will it be?"

"A mage. And by the description of his staff, not a friendly one." Rudolph's brow furrowed and his lips curled inward. They may need to face off against a mage. The half-elf had full confidence in his abilities...but a mage with their magical focus had a better chance at winning than a mage without one. That and he didn't even know the full capacity of his opponent; as far as Rudolph knew, this magus could be just as strong or even stronger than he was. Quite troubling.

He followed the blacksmith outside of the tavern where she addressed the group. "The Thousand Year Old Woods? That's Wild Elf territory. Even the Duchy's troops steer clear of those parts. I don't suppose any of you have a plan on passing without getting treated as trespassers by those tribals? I loathe the idea of being turned into a pincushion for arrows."

Rudolph's focus shifted to Shina, who welcomed him back to the group with open arms. He too hoped that the roving gang of bandits was just a rare occurrence. He was an honest and devoted tax-paying citizen of the Archduchy's land. Dangerous roads was simply unbecoming of the relatively clean record of her highness' rule. Though, sadly, he couldn't say the same for the rest of the nobles and their lands. Baron Otrar for example. No prior history of rule nor tutelage in governance and was left to handle a lakeside hamlet. No surprise that he bungled things up so badly that he led the hamlet and himself into ruination.

But his thoughts digressed from the topic at hand, the dragoness had insulted his biggest pride as a wizard of the capital's Royal Academy. To hells with his fear of dragons! "Ignorance? Ignorance?! I've dedicated over a hundred seventy years of my life to the mastery of the Arcane Arts and that's excluding the forgotten knowledge I've recovered and preserved from the Ancients! I did not graduate as the Arch-Wizard's First Seat, with knowledge I EARNED to be called ignorant by a lizard that's had their magic since birth! I of all people understand that all magic is a tool to be used. But even a dragon like you, so separated and 'above' the understanding of mortal decency and morality, ought to have a fundamental understanding why a corpse puppet is distasteful at the very least." Rudolph fumed so hard that he lost concentration to his body enhancing spell and reverted back to his more reasonable sized self. The wizard scowled at the dragoness as she paid more attention to the injured bandit but held himself back from speaking any further. Opting to storm off to follow Shina. He had said his piece and there was no need to say any more words he would possibly regret later on.

For the rest of the trip until they reached the Ivy Inn, the wizard said no words.

He left Shina to do the talking, plus it seemed that she already had some history here. Which was rather strange as he only knew her as Lorenstad's blacksmith, but perhaps there was more to this Firetail woman than she lets on? It was only when the old human turned his attention to them he spoke. "Pleasure to meet you. I am Rudolph Admoss. A wizard and acquaintance of Ms. Shina. And as Ms. Shina and our fighter mentioned, we are looking for a Mr. Guan."

He was rather glad that the dragoness and the others were still rather amicable with him after his little panicked fiasco earlier in Lorenstad. But, honestly speaking? Taarah still scared the wizard deeply...well that's something he could say the same for any dragon he'd encountered. Except for silver dragons. The scholarly books and scrolls about them were completely accurate. Friendly, helpful, and social. He'd hope that Aban was still doing well after all these years. Rudolph smiled at the memory...which was promptly wiped from his face when an arrow nicked Shina's ear and narrowly missed the abnormally swole wizard.

"Makers above!" Rudolph valiantly took cover behind the wagon as the more combat oriented of the group dispatched a number of the the bandits in quick succession. "Why do we even pay taxes if the roads are still dangerous!?" The wizard yelled to nobody in particular as he did his best to put enough 'oomph' to the fireball manifesting in his palm without causing a forest fire. He really wished he had brought his wand; it would have been infinitely easier to channel and focus his magic with it. But by the time he peeked out of his cover with his fireball, ready to be thrown upon the brigands, the battle had finished.

He was a little embarrassed that he was unable to contribute to the battle, but his shame turned into disgust and revulsion as he observed the smoldering skeleton animated by necromantic magics. "Kannon's crooked horns. The dragoness is a necromancer..." Closing his eyes and grimacing, he thought of returning back to Lorenstad and deal with an angry Minnow. Taking a deep breath and exhaling away his doubts and second thoughts, he decided that dealing with a dragon necromancer would be far easier than dealing with the Night Elf innkeeper right now. "I understood that they were scum, but necromancy? Really? That's...that's just distasteful." Rudolph understood that all magic is a tool to be used and not something that is inherently good or evil...but the school of necromancy was an exception in Rudolph's perspective. Especially the spells that create undead.

"Not at all...just jostled a little..." The half-elf wizard said as he gratefully took the Merfolk's hand as she assisted him up from the ground. He'd recognized her as the town's resident merfolk and jeweler. A peculiar one she was. Locating herself so far away from her people. But the fate of Lorenstad was at hand and he had to see how much damage had been wrought between the battle between Mesmer and Dragon. But as soon as he stood himself properly, he looked back to the town to see it's state now that he was sure that Thaddeus and the dragon had begun fighting...only to discover that Lorenstad was still miraculously serene and in one piece. The birds still chirped their merry tunes and the wind carried no acrid smell nor black smoke of dragonfire. Had he been wrong about the fight? That would mean that he'd caused an unnecessary ruckus on a misinterpretation.

"Oh dear..."

He threw Minnow out of a window for nothing.

Luckily enough he saw the wagon Shina and the rest were going and, Maker's mercy, no sign of a certain Night Elf innkeeper...yet. There was no time left to return to his home to get equipment and supplies. He had to make a decision now. Go catch up with Shina's wagon to go on a little adventure or stay and risk facing Minnow? Rudolph inhaled deeply and willed away the lingering pains of his accidental self-inflicted injuries. He had made his decision. He'd need to distance himself from Lorenstad for a while and no opportunity presented itself better than Shina's quest. "I would love to talk some more, but my prior commitment to our resident blacksmith requires me to follow-through with what I said I would do. I do promise answers if you still need them when we return." The wizard then re-casted his spell to enhance his physical ability. His body returned to it's unnaturally sized state and bolted...again.

Soon he would regroup with the others and before anyone could say a word, Rudolph apologized for his brash actions and misinterpretations. Swearing to be more open minded and less impulsive, that is if they were still willing to have him help on this quest.

No new quest.
No relevant info about the missing NPCs.
No Lugh to bring back to the priestess in Nyu Taro.

To be honest? Things were pretty sucky at the moment being...but not a sucky as being overwhelmed and killed by the goat men. Strangely enough, they still opted to fight despite their refusal of Sarasa's request that they do it with the assistance of Lugh. The scout guessed that majority of the group couldn't hold their murderboners in their metaphorical pants anymore. Regardless, they were well past the point of regrets and now had to deal with the present situation.

The one-armed scout peeked through the branches of the dead trees they were using as cover every now and then to keep an eye on the movements of the thirty or so cannibalistic goat men and kept his voice a hushed tone as he gave his two cents on the matter. "From my earlier observations, these goat men mainly rely on brutish physical prowess. Being both stupid strong and tough. But we aren't entirely sure that they are devoid of any ranged capabilities. So I suggest that we do a blitzkrieg tactic. Hitting hard and fast while keeping mobile. But I'm open to suggestion as we only have one ranged DPS as of the moment." He punctuated with a wiggle of his arm nub. He really wished that he was able to use his bow or crossbow effectively right now as the thought of getting struck by one of these monsters' calloused iron-hard fists sent chills down his spine.

He'd gotten somewhat used to the realistic pain he was too prideful to lower, but the experience is never a good one.

The half-elf was thankful that the skald was considerate enough to not grab him by the body. Being hoisted up by his clothes still hurt a little, but far less than being directly held up. The sense of thankfulness was brief as the skald proceeded to yell and shake him before abruptly dropping him on the ground making the pain double in intensity. He'd be a little upset for the rough treatment if not for the pain. It took longer than a brief few moments, but the wizard finally managed to regain his ability to breathe without pain. It was still mildly difficult to do so, but at least he did not have to wince at each draw of breath.

He pointed further into the town; to the general direction of TOM and answered the elderly skald why he was acting so strangely."A dragon in Lorenstad...was supposedly friendly until Thaddeus...mentioned fighting dragons...I escaped to gather supplies...and equipment for the aftermath..." The grounded wizard said in between wheezes. Had the skald not believed his words, he could have verified the presence of a dragon himself by heading to The Other Mine. Rudolph, on the other hand, was fine with laying on the side of the road near the lamp post until he recuperated enough of his strength to stand and continue his way to his home.

The wind whistled past his ears and the buildings and people became blurs to him as the magically enhanced wizard beelined through the streets. "Run! Get to safety! Dragonfire inbound!" The wizard bellowed as he ran. Warning any those who could hear his voice. He'd hope that he would manage to reach his home in time and gather the necessary equipment and potions he needed in dealing with the aftermath of a fight with a dragon. His mind raced as he created a mental image of every floor of his tower and began planning out the most optimized route to collect the items and run back to town in time to mitigate the damage he projected the battle between the sailor and the dragoness would cause.

It so deep in thought that he failed to realize that he basically broadsided the old skald when he neared the outskirts of Lorenstad. He would have immediately stopped and apologized to him while explaining the whole situation but, sadly, the half-elf was too immersed in his plan that he crashed into a lamp post being tended by the town's Noctaeid lamplighter. The impact was sudden and the stop, painful. If his blunder into TOM's broom closet wouldn't leave his body black and blue by the next dawn, the collision between his body and solid pine lamp post surely will. A most likely prediction as the lamp post had been slightly uprooted from its original position. Had he crashed into the wooden structure without the layers of muscle to dampen the impact, he would have surely fractured a number of his ribs.

While he gasped and heaved for breath painfully on the ground, his mind became more and more muddled by pain. To the point that he lost concentration on his earlier body enhancing spell and returned to his more modest body size. He tried to will himself to stand back up and keep going...but his body ultimately won as a simple act of breathing was currently a herculean task to perform. He can only pray to the Makers that he'd still make it in time before the town became too ravaged from the fighting between the Mesmer and the Dragoness he imagined.

The wizard gave the town's local smith an appreciative nod as she offered him a seat but opted to keep his distance away from the dragoness while they discussed the search and rescue of Shina's friend. Even in after knowing she held no ill will toward the town, he still felt extremely uneasy around her and opted to keep his disposition guarded and ready to act. A peculiar shapeshifter made herself known to the sailor who frequented the cozy little town when he had the chance. Things went south rather abruptly then and there. Taarah looked like she was a moment's notice from torching the inn after hearing the sailor's mention of fighting a dragon before. A breath got caught in his throat. Rudolph's senses heightened in a split second of the event. Any moment now, the fight between the mesmer sailor and the dragon would break out. Knots formed in his stomach as he felt as if he was back in the ancient ruins of Mul-Tohdir. Never again.

He needed to get out of the immediate location as soon as he possibly could...but what of the others? He couldn't allow the events of Mul-Tohdir to occur again. All his friends gone in an instant. He couldn't possibly reach the others in time before it was too late. They were too close to the dragon and the mesmer. He could only hope that they had the sense to leap out of the nearest window and run as fast and as far as they could. Though Minnow would prove to be a problem as TOM was one of her prides and joys and she wouldn't let Thaddeus fight the dragon alone while she still had broom handle at hand. He'll just have to apologize to Minnow on a later day. If she doesn't decide to kill him that is. Firmly grasping her by the shoulders and focusing his magics to his arms, he casts a spell to greatly enhance his physical abilities. "Sorry, Minnow." He said with an apologetic smile on his face before tossing the elf woman out of the window he came from as gently as he could...and straight into the decorative boxwood shrubbery outside.

Not long after he too leapt out of TOM and ran as fast as his physically enhanced body could all the way back to his tower to prepare for the fallout of the rumble between the dragon and the mesmer sailor...and maybe also keep away from a likely furious night elf armed with a broom handle.

[Raime]: Noticed a human footprint near us. Can't be ours nor Lew's. Might be related to carriage tracks we followed earlier. More illusory talismans likely in play.

"Apologies, it was not my intention to confuse." Raime said with a practiced smile. The very same kind of smile to fool any out-of-town folk for a sincere one. He'd have to play along with the lamias...for now. While they held the advantage of having the children hidden away somewhere, they were in no position to attack. Though the idea of cooperating with some of the Grove's unholy denizens instead of stopping whatever nefarious plan just reeked of treachery. He can already imagine the reptoid in the black kimono say something along the lines of 'You puppets have outlived your usefulness.' and attacking the party when they were at their weakest after killing the goat men. But he had little choice on the matter. "Our party can certainly try, but I do believe we have yet to discuss the matter of incentive. Specifically for the risk and effort needed for the task." If they were going to help these evil serpentine reptoid bastards in gaining more land, they'd damn well better be compensated for it.
