Magus looked around him as the bandit who had barely escaped from him the last time they met said that they were all busy at the moment. The crowd had dispersed, Blacklight had left after throwing Dragon Heart to the ground, and the snapper was being handled by other Epics. Still, it would be better to deal with the bigger threat of the snapper or take his quarrel with this robber somewhere else where they wouldn't get in the way of those fighting the giant turtle. He stared at this robber for a moment before saying, "I'm not done with you," and turning to help deal with the turtle.

"Might I suggest putting him back in the water?" Magus said to the Epics surrounding the turtle. "No offense, but none of you seem to be accomplishing anything more than making it angrier, which I think is exactly what we don't want to do."
Edward was walking toward Central Park when the High Clairvoyant warned of the Snapper in the park. Edward quickly donned the guise of Magus and headed to the Park. By the time he arrived, several things had already happened. First of all, Dragon Heart and Blacklight were fighting. Again.

Secondly, someone had angered the turtle as evidenced by the fact that it was not peacefully grazing as the snappers tended to do. Instead, one of the Freaks who worked with the Emergency Response and Search and Rescue teams had placed his arm in the turtle's mouth, then proceeded to grow the arm large enough to actually lift the turtle off the ground.

Thirdly, ECPD and a few other Epics seemed to be effectively keeping civilians out of danger. It would appear he was not currently needed, but he would observe and intervene if the need did arise. Then he looked back at the people ushering the crowd away. One of the people, wielding a glass baton, looked familiar. He hadn't gotten a good look at the man the first time they had met, but it was good enough that Magus recognized him now. He approached the glass manipulator, ushering people away as he went. "We meet again," he said when he was just feet away from his adversary.
Edward walked out the back door of his shop, leaving two employees, a recent high school graduate and his little brother, to hold down the fort while he went for a walk. He grabbed his coat and staff, though he didn't suspect there would be any need for Magus to make an appearance. Still, it was best to be prepared. He made his way towards Central Park, keeping his eyes and ears open for any sign that someone may need a hero.
@banana if Xoxi is looking for Epic trading cards or other memorabilia, Edward or any of his employees would be happy to help. I'm sure she could also find comic books detailing (fabricated) adventures of some of Epic City's most famous heroes. Anyway, I think Edward will take a walk towards Central Park so he'll be around when stuff happens.
@thewizardguyThe way things sometimes happen here, Magus and Guilt may end up interacting whether they want to or not, and in a way I'm actually kind of interested in how that might play out (which of course would depend on the circumstances of their encounter).
Also, aside from Devil being a Freak, what does Guilt have against him? He kills the same types of people that Guilt kills (or at least that's how I read his CS), so they would actually be on the same side.
@thewizardguy
I swear Guilt is actively trying to have all of the High pissed off and actively making her life a living hell.

Half the time I think Guilt is actively trying to be just plain antagonistic to anyone around her. I'm honestly hoping I don't have to interact with her anytime soon because I find her personality incredibly off-putting.

That is all.
Only two people exited the van: the gunman who had been harrying Magus for most of the ride, and one of his goons. Rather than try to fight, the two just grab what loot they could carry and ran for the nearest alley. Magus first went to the van to see if anyone else was there. The only people left in the van were either dead or out for the count, and about half the contents of the robbery remained. Magus considered going after the two who had fled the scene, but after the trouble they had caused him, he didn't like the idea of facing off against them again, and if any of the people here regained consciousness while he was chasing the others, his work would just get ten times harder than it needed to be. Instead, Magus chose to inform the authorities of the events and let the ECPD take in the robbers that were still alive but currently unconscious.

Spotting a civilian about a block away, Magus waved to the man and asked to borrow his phone. Magus never had a phone on his person since the plastic in the casing was not good for his powers, and the trans-uranium elements that were sometimes in the batteries rendered him utterly powerless. He called the police and told them about the robbery and his role in recovering half the loot. Within half an hour, two police cruisers arrived on the scene as well as an armored car from the bank. The police thanked Magus for his service and took the robbers into custody, and the bank reclaimed the stolen money. All in all, it was a good day's work, but Magus was still irked that the ringleader of the robbers had gotten away with half the money. Sooner or later, there would have to be reckoning for that.
Magus had gotten himself mostly onto the roof of the van when he felt something wrap around his right arm. He looked and saw a tendril of glass begin to encircle his arm. Magus wrenched his arm against the glass, but his strength alone wouldn't break the hold--it would merely delay the glass making its way fully around his arm and doing whatever else it was supposed to do. He took his staff back into his left hand and swung at the glass just below his arm while he wrenched upward. The glass splintered at the point of contact, and with another yank of the arm, he was able to break free, though it seemed he would be wearing an interesting bangle on his forearm for a while. He was now in a stable position on the roof of the vehicle once more, and so he chose to enact what he hoped would be a game ender for this chase. He took his staff in his right hand and lowered the end to the asphalt behind the car, the quartz rod trailing behind the car. Magus channeled his earth power through the staff and into the pavement, and the soil and rock below, focusing on what he wanted to happen. Suddenly, just feet in front of the car, the street exploded. A pillar of earth and rock shot upward from directly in front of the van, creating an impenetrable barrier, and the van was going too fast to avoid it.
Magus jumped backward off the van, stumbling, but rolling neatly to his feet just as the van collided with the solid wall in front of it. He stood in a ready stance, his staff held across his chest in both hands as he waited for the villains to make their next move.

@Flamelord
That would probably be best, @Flamelord. We're pretty much just going back and forth anyway without either of us willing to give up the fight, but eventually it would have to end somehow. We probably should have figured that out earlier so we had an idea of what to work towards instead of dragging this thing out way longer than it probably should be.
