Huh~
This looks fun.

I might in fact, play an Adelon trooper/solider/what have you since it seems possible to do that~

How far would we be allowed to go with the technology and stuff? Specifically, cybernetic-enhancements and cyborg like things?

Well, the point is to retain a sense of humanity with the technology in the setting, so extreme Terminator-style modifications are a no-no. Advanced prosthetics are possible, but just not to the point where someone's arm can turn into a machinegun. Kinetic shields, cloaking technology, pulse rifles, RC drones, power-nullifying signal grenades, all of that is a-okay. But, like, no clouds of nanomachines or whatever.

Whatever ideas for tech you have, you can run them by me and I'll give you the go or no.

Estal Webb

Age: 19 Years Old
Gender: Female
Status: Newcomer

Personality: For someone with the ability to heal, you’d have thought that she’d be the social and caring type. However, that is not the case with Estal. She cares for the select few who have earned her trust, everyone else? Fuck ‘em. She is not a social bunny by any means, requiring time alone in order to gather her thoughts. This has led to her becoming quite the withdrawn and private individual. She does not like people knowing her weaknesses, or her past, and takes intrusions and nosy busybodies to be a threat she’d rather avoid.

Estal is intensely loyal to those who have earned her trust and respect, and is willing to risk everything for their safety. She is thick-skinned and can very well take a beating, although her healing abilities can only go so far, as a betrayal from someone she cares about is bound to send her spiralling. Her protectiveness over her select few have proven to be a hindrance to her well-being, since she is more then ready to take someone on in a fiery explosion of blind rage. Her gutsiness in these situation may fool some to believe she actually has any fighting skills - she doesn’t, but that doesn’t stop her trying to defend what is hers. She is young, and thus has a lot to learn in the art of self-control.

Power: Cell Manipulation (Wound Transfer, Regeneration and Life Absorption)

Healing Others (Wound Transferral)
Estal can heal others by transferring their wounds onto herself. By doing so, she inflicts the same pain felt by the wound, any damage, either internal or external it has caused. Once the wound(s) have transferred onto her, she then begins to regenerate herself.

Limitations
- She is essentially inflicting herself with the wounds of others, so the process can be extremely painful.
- If she transfers serious wounds onto herself and doesn’t have time to regenerate, she can die.
- In order to heal someone, she must be touching them throughout the healing. Her powers do not work through inanimate objects/substances (such as glass/windows) or clothing. She must have skin to skin contact in order to heal someone.
- She cannot resurrect the dead. Even if they had just recently died, unless they can be resuscitated, any attempt at healing them would fail.
- She cannot heal a wound which is embedded with a foreign object, such as an impalement, or a bullet wound with the bullet still inside. The object must come out in order for the wound to heal and transfer onto herself. This is also the case with her own injuries. If she is shot, the bullet must come out or she will not heal.
- Although her own healing is accelerated, for reasons unknown, transferred wounds take much longer to heal then injuries of her own. While injuries to herself take a matter of minutes to heal, transferred injuries take a matter of hours.
- She can only heal illnesses caused by trauma. Estal cannot heal auto-immune diseases or diseases caused by pathogens, however, she can heal any symptoms that occur that involve the body’s tissues (for example, if a pathogen caused open sores, she would be able to heal the open sores, not the pathogen).
- For loss of limbs, if the limb is placed and connected to the open tissue, she may be able to heal it. This would involve the loss of her own limb, which would have to be placed against her in order for it to regenerate properly. She cannot grow another limb for herself, or others.
- Transferring injuries can take it’s toll and cause her to fall unconscious. She needs time and rest to regenerate, especially concerning transferred wounds.
- In theory, she may be able to transfer the wounds of someone onto someone other then herself. However, she has yet to try.

Healing Herself (Regeneration)
Estal is able to heal injuries that she has acquired at a extremely accelerated rate, provided she has time in order to regenerate.

Limitations
- Healing time depends on the type of injury. Bone takes longer to heal then tissue. A sutured would heals faster then a open one. Healing time ranges from a few minutes to several hours, depending on the wound and whether it was transferred.
- Even though her healing is accelerated, she does requires time in order to heal, so any injury which is too severe, she will die from. This includes, but is not limited to, gunshots to the head, being set on fire, dismemberment, etc. So, she is by no means immortal.
- Healing herself and others is exceptionally exhausting and thus requires rest in order to regenerate properly.
- She ages normally, and cannot heal the effects of ageing.
- She feels pain as much as the average person.

Life Absorption
Just like she can use her body to heal others, she can also use others to heal herself. A power that she found accidentally, she is able to drain the energy of others in order to speed up the regeneration process. However, she now knows she doesn’t have to be injured in order to use this ability. It takes around 20 seconds to drain someone to death. Those drained tend to feel weak and collapse.

Limitations
- It is extremely dangerous to even attempt. She has little control over how much energy she drains from someone and finds it nearly impossible to stop once she has started. Perhaps she may be able to control this power in the future, but for now, attempts are likely to end with fatal consequences.
- The power is temperamental and can activate unintentionally subjected to strong emotions. Once she has started, she is unable to stop.
- She can only use this ability while touching someone. The ability stops once contact is lost.
She can only absorb life from living beings, such as humans and animals.

This is what I've got so far, what do you think about her abilities? Let me now about any changes, they shall be prompt. Do I need to include a history as well, or can that be left for the IC?

Everything looks neato torpedo. History inclusion is your choice, I always like to hear at least a little blurb, but I have no problems with IC revelation.
This sounds super cool!! I'd totally be into writing a CS for this, did you have a start date in mind?

Eh, when I've got a fair amount of submissions in, I guess. Take your time, whole thing's gonna stay open with jump-in points aplenty.
I'm very interested in this, I’ll try to scrounge up a CS by the end of today. I was wondering how many powers a single character can have? Just the one, or are we allowed multiple? And if multiple powers are allowed, can they be completely different powers or do they have to be similar/related to one another?

I should have specified in the OOC, thanks for reminding me - yeah, I won't allow any Supermans. Everyone should have a focus for their power, which can branch off into other subsets as long as they stay in their respective element. Assuming a form completely made of fire and shooting tempests of flame, with a bit of levitation, that's all good. But I won't let anyone be like, the Avatar or whatever. In the end, it really depends on case-by-case judgement.

James Windsor

Age:
27

Superpower:
Tracer

James is able to obtain the historical memories or sensations of inanimate and animate objects alike by touching them. By touching an object, he gains the knowledge regarding everything about it, from its creation to who has use it and what has been done with it. By touching a living being, he learns of their life history and information they might not even know themselves. However, he merely accesses the 'history' of living beings and isn't able to use the ability to read minds or emotions.

Tracer Techniques:
Despite seemingly being a simple superpower, Tracer can be used in a multitude of ways.

  • Learning - James is able to make full use of the memories he obtains. For example, by simply touching a helicopter, James gains all the technical know-how of how to use it. Likewise with people, he can make use of their memories and mimic their abilities. However, he is only able to replicate what is physically possible for him. This means he won't able to obtain super strength or other abilities simply because he's obtained the memory.
  • Assessment - James can instantly discern the condition of an object or living being. When touching an object, say a gun, he is able to assess it's physical condition. With living beings, he can the details of their bodies. Even learning their health and identifying hidden illnesses.
  • Deduction - Tracer can only see the historical memories of an object or a living being. However, James can use such information to deduce the future. For example, he can discern a person's personality by touching them and therefore narrow down their possible actions in a future event.

@SepticGentleman It's a WIP and I have yet to put in his personality and bio. However, I wanted to see what opinions you have on his power. Is it ok? I tried to keep it balanced by having it require physical contact. This means James can't waltz into a battlefield and instantly know the abilities of all his opponents and etc. And though he'll possess the ability to be weapon proficient with anything, he lacks the supernatural edge. For example, an opposing gunsman could have supersight or kinetic acceleration which would make him more deadly than James despite them both using the same weapon.

Still, I think he can potentially be powerful but I don't really have anyone to compare him to since there are no other CS's.

Everything looks fine to me. I'm generally pretty okay with hands-on powers. Usually make for good utilitarians.
@SepticGentlemanCan you specify the amount of people in the new batch of prisoners?

For a random number, I'll say a 129 prisoners total.
This sounds pretty gay.

Everything does, after a while.
Nice, I'm interested.

Well hey, I actually already put the OOC up to catch the Guild's rush hour. So here.

roleplayerguild.com/topics/136396-arko..
I like the look of this. I'll think on a character or two.

Glad to hear it.
Blue.

Everything was just… blue. The narrow lights shining above the crowd of prisoners put an azure filter on everything in their perceivable scope. Their normally gray fatigues, their hefty restraints keeping their arms behind their backs, and of course, their collars fastened firmly around their necks, negating all of their powers. They were all tethered to the metal floor of the cargo bay, so low that they had to remain in seated positions.

Most looked angry. Some looked sad. The rest looked… complacent.

Armed men surrounded them by the cargo bay’s walls, dressed in pads, pockets, and polyceramic armor plating, just to name a few articles. And even without the light, most all of them was some shade of blue. Even their guns, heavy and reeking of great sums worth of technological implementation. They all stood and kept their guards up, ready to lay waste to the hundred and twenty-nine superhumans they were scheduled to deliver today.

Two men walked along the perimeter. The armed men’s leader, Alexander Haliat, and his right hand man, Elias Winzer. They took a stand before the crowd, and Eli began to make an announcement.

“Alright people, can I have your attention please?” He called out. Most of the prisoners turned their heads towards him, but others didn’t, for their own reasons. He continued on to say, “We’ll be arriving at the northeast shore of Arkos in just a few minutes. Now you all received proper explanation during your detainment, but just in case any of you didn’t understand, I will be reiterating - you’re all trash, and this is your shiny new junkyard home.”

“Eli.” Haliat said sternly, glaring at him through his striking yellow shades.

“Okay, okay.” Eli responded, “This island will act as your new residence for the foreseeable future. You will have no contact with the outside world and it will be up to you how to spend your day-to-day. When we reach the shore, you will be escorted out of this cargo bay and left on the northeast end of the island. Once you’re all beached and we’ve vacated the perimeter, your collars and restraints will be deactivated remotely, and you’ll be free to use your powers again. We wanna keep tabs on how you develop them.”

He began pacing a bit.

“Those of you who can fly or swim really fast or whatever, may be tempted to just blast off back to civilization. Let me tell you why that idea is shit. We’re a long ways off from the mainland and you’ll most likely tire out and sink before you even get halfway there. But even before that, you’ll notice that the air and sea surrounding Arkos are heavily occupied by Adelon forces. And we have a special little something called the Fenza Mk. IV Heat Seeking Nullifier Missile Cluster, which is our way of saying “go back to your room”. We have them stationed on every ship and fitted on every carrier, and no matter how fast or what direction you’re going, they’ll catch you, and send you plummeting into the water, after which we’ll pick you up and administer additional reprimands, then throw you back to shore.”

Red lights hanging above the large cargo bay ramp-door began to shine, accompanied by an audible buzzing sound. “Alright, we’re here!” Eli called out, “If any of you have no idea where to go or what do, chances are someone from the friendly town of Site Borea will come to greet you, get you sorted out. Supply drops full of food, water, fresh clothes, whatever will occur every day at one thousand hours, and again at eighteen-hundred hours. That’s ten in the morning and six in the afternoon for you simpler folk. And remember - at any point Adelon may decide they have a specific use for any of you, and if that happens, then we’ll come get you.”

He said that last part in a rather unfriendly tone.

“Until then, we trust you’ll make the best of your situation.” He finished off with.

The ship came to a halt. The cargo bay door began to descend, forming a ramp resting on the sandy shore of Arkos. Nullifier drones detached from the ceiling and flew over the prisoners’ heads, out into the open, forming a defensive perimeter around the ship. Their tethers deactivated, and the troops began huddling them out onto the beach. Some attempted to retaliate, but they were swiftly dealt with, and thrown down the ramp. After but a few moments, all one hundred and twenty-nine of them were out of the cargo bay and officially on the island.

The ramp began to retract, and Haliat and Winzer could be seen watching them, before the ramp obscured them both. The nullifier drones remained for a moment more as the ship departed, and once it was a fair distance away, began flying back towards the vessel. It wasn’t long before the ship neared the occupied perimeter, far off in the distance.

And at that moment, everyone’s collars and restraints deactivated simultaneously, falling down onto the sand below.

They were free. In a sense.
