I did not know you made a thread for our NRPS @Vatrou

@Vilageidiotx Those are some good suggestions, and we already do some of these like the "focusing on individuals that make up the nation". Problem is we might not go far enough. There seems to be a small handful of characters who revolve around the leader and we barely see any actual character development when we are not in our IC yearly convention.

I would agree with the lack of character development. I was planning in the last one to flesh out the lives of Verica to Gannon and other characters I had planned to bring into the RP. One thing we need to highlight of importance is character development.

I know a few things about'em. Right now I am Co-Gming Precipice of War, which is one of the more successful NRP's in the section dedicated to them, and has been dragged more or less continuously across three different forums for more than four years now. That's my credentials.

For a good nation RP, you have to break the tendency for people to think of the nations themselves as the characters. People do that and yeh, they'll RP like they are writing an AAR for Civ or EU. You gotta break them of that, and teach them to build their stories from the ground up by focusing on the individuals that make up the nation. Don't imagine cultures as CIA fact book stats, imagine them as individuals going through their lives. The government is the leaders and their personalities, the military is another culture of individuals with their own sets of challenges, etc etc.

It's best if you allow things to grow organically. Don't try to GM the RP using artificial tricks, just enforce some reasonable behavior. It's better to enforce realism within the world you are creating rather than creating barriers to power and access that might end up smothering the RP instead. The Big nations will be bogged down in logistics while the lesser ones are constrained by resources. Enforcing these sorts of things won't kill combat and action, but rather will keep it focused so that storytelling can blossom.

And the best thing a GM can do, I think, is lead by example. Write well and you will inspire everybody else to keep up with your skillz.

I dream of the day our Fallout NRPS can be just like Precipice.

Well, doesn't Sarina need to report Shiro and chew his ass out?

I actually talked to Lugu. My original thought was that once the chefs got the names of the people who messed up the cafeteria in this case Shiro and Gren, Goodwitch would learn of it and punish them via Lugu writing up a post on it. I talked to it about Lugu:

Me:
Hey uh, you know Sarina did tell the chefs that Kuhaku and Gren made a mess in the kitchen. Will you be working up a post of them getting punished by Goodwitch because I was planning for that occur.

@Lugubrious

Nah, we'll wave it off as being taken care of earlier in the weekend.

Well I finally posted. You guys should also check out xCloudyx artwork. Really nice and amazing artwork. For those in Vale, feel free to interact with Vega and for those in Beacon, find a way to interact with Sarina.
Vega Venetia – VGNB – Vale – In front of the Armor Store

It had been long day for Vega. She traveled to Vale by taking the airship early in the morning, taking a trip of nothing but sightseeing. She had a great deal of fun with it taking many scenic pictures to post on her Insta for her followers. Already her scenic photo of the different places of Vale attracted likes and follows on her page, only increasing her presence on social media. She had gotten tired though of all the walking she had to do, and try to bypass every guy and girl that tried to come on to her because of the summery outfit she wore.

Vega found a bench in front of an armor store. This is a good place to relax. Taking a glance of the store and seeing the figures of students inside, she then crossed her legs and began passing the time with her phone. This usually meant looking at photos on Instagram checking Facebook and Twitter. While looking at her phone, she held a pensive look.

Sarina Tala Dei – SC – Beacon – SC Dorm

As for Sarina, well she was tired to. Yesterday she had to rearrange the entire bedroom to accommodate Clair and the two future team members, if they do arrive. Also she assisted VGNB in setting up their rooms, including the furniture that came from their home and was burned out. Sarina lied down on the couch in front of the television watching sit-coms, reality shows at a low volume, until she fell asleep while the television played in the background.

...I am ashamed to admit I only read the first sentence. I thought the rest of the paragraph just expounded on it, not introducing a new system. That's frankly too much credits, and will drain from IC attention.

Since it's going to be a big contest, though I'll allow there to be four places. Winner gets four, second three, and so on. Not every participant will receive. I may interject whichever ones please me into canon, regardless of win status.

Shadow, please make these changes to the announcement in the thread itself.

yeh

I edited in the changes. You can check out the contest ooc.
This gives me the perfect opportunity to flesh out Oswald's home village, and his little pseudo-hunter group!

Also...nine credits? That might be a bit much.

It is a faction sheet. The best, most detailed, and interesting sheet IMO will get nine credits. Plus, I got it approved from Lugu.

The contests is up you guys. I created it and I will be participating in it. Have fun!
#16 – World Creation - Create an Organization!

Judge – Lugu

Type – Writing Challenge

In this contest…no this is not a contest but an Opportunity! Your objective is simple, to create an organization with the following template in third person, with a minimum length of 1,500 words. The more you add the better. The world of RWBY is bare-bones so this is everyone’s opportunity to create an organization to spice up the world of RWBY. You can create any kind of organization with any affiliation. The only thing limiting you is your creativity and how far you want to go on this. (Example: Part of the Atlesian Military, unaffiliated business company, etc.) Each participant with a full completed sheet will earn two credits. The first prize winner will get 4 credits. 2nd place gets three and so on... Even if you do not win, your organization can be a part of the HOB universe depending on Lugu.

Deadline: July 31, midnight.

Have Fun!

Then again (using Yang again) I don't know a lot of tall blond and busty Chinese women in real life.

I actually know one, not sure about the busty part but she was the tallest Asian in our high school and is Chinese.

Same, though without the 'hussy' comment. xDD

By the way, where is @Write?

@Write

Write may be busy with real life, assuming of course and probably likely so I'm hoping this week, Write logs back in.
