Hope they've got a portal set up. Or at least a van. I don't want these bastards chasing me halfway across town. Seph was in full-on "hold the line" mode. She snapped off a shot from her pistol and plugged a thirty-something man between the eyes. Goodfellow had officially moved to number one on her shit list, but she couldn't get a clear line of sight on him. "Everyone go! I'm tail-end Charlie! And Aradia, if we don't die, I'm gonna kill you!" Granted, the witch probably had figured out that she'd blown it already, but sometimes, a gorgon just needed to vent her frustrations.
Well, this just went pear-shaped. Seph was tempted to take off her glamour charm, but decided against it. Better to leave the pastor in the dark as to just what she was capable of. She figured her best move was to stall the monster, try to distract him. "Peace is nice, but it has to be come by honestly. What you're doing isn't making peace, it's making slaves."

Into her radio, the gorgon muttered, "Anyone got an idea on how to break the control? I'm afraid that if they're still under his control when we kill him, they'll die too, and I don't want to have to clean up more corpses than absolutely necessary." Her hand strayed towards her pistol. She didn't like killing, but if Goodfellow made a move on her, he'd end up with a 9-millimeter surprise. Simple as that.

Okay, we've got confirmation he's a psychic. Nothing we didn't already suspect, but still. Seph was nervous as all hell. Sure, the sinister minister had no reason as of yet to suspect an illusion, but if he did, they'd have dozens of parishoners ready to rip them to shreds to deal with. She smiled, and shook the preacher's hand. "My name is Persephone, Father."

indeed. She might even let it take over for a power boost in a life-or-death situation.

So, just to clarify, I can be on the mission even though it started before I was accepted?
"One of those, eh?" Alex shrugged. He'd seen more than a few hunters who turned their talents to less... savory pursuits when money got tight. It was an unfortunate hazard of the trade. His voice dropped as his fingers started straying towards his gun. "Listen. I've got some problems I need dealt with. Problems that are too big for me to deal with on my own. If you come with me, I can tell you all about them, and can offer a decent check once the job is done." He smiled. "Fair enough?"
Name: Persephone Kalavos

Nickname: Seph

Age: 22

Race: Myth (Gorgon)

Height: 5 foot 6 in her human disguise, 8 feet long in her true form

Weight: 160 pounds in her human disguise, 200 pounds in her true form

Hair Color: Red in her human disguise, N/A in her true form

Eye Color: Blue in both forms

Physical description of her human disguise: Rather slender, with curly hair and a small scar on her right cheek. Always wears a light blue dress, and has a green snake tattoo on her left shoulder, with no other body ornamentation. Wears wire-rimmed glasses.

Physical description of true form: Her skin is patterned much like so: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaboon_viper#/me.. and is scaly throughout. Her lower five feet are a serpentine tail, and she is human in shape above the waist. Her face is heavily wrinkled, and her hair consists of two dozen 18-inch long snakes with individual minds and personalities. These snakes can inject a venom similar to her own, although lesser in both dosage and toxicity. If she opens her mouth wide enough, one can see the two-inch fangs that normally fold up against the roof of her mouth.

Personality: Seph is very laid-back, with a rather relaxed view of the world. She prefers to talk things out without resorting to violence, but realizes that it may be necessary. Still, her ultimate goal is to cause the absolute minimum amount of mayhem needed to get the job done. When not on an investigation, she prefers more intellectual pursuits, and is in fact in the process of getting her degree in chemistry online. She also has a keen interest in magic, specifically in enchanting objects, and can be found assisting in arcane research on occasion.

Background: Gorgons are a very old race, and Seph can trace her own lineage back to the original Medusa herself. That said, being that she is fairly young herself, there isn't much to tell. She was born in Greece, but moved to Baylor at an early age. Middle-class background, used an enchanted amulet to fit in with her human classmates. Heard about the Syndicate two years ago, joined up, and got assigned as an agent. Her service record so far has been unremarkable, though.

Weapons: Seph carries a 9mm automatic pistol and a knife. Nothing special about either of them.

Skills: Chemical knowledge, negotiation, expert pistol shot.

Powers: Gorgon Gaze- Seph's stare does have supernatural properties, though some of them have been exaggerated in the telling. First off, it's an active power; she has to actually want to use it. Secondly, it requires direct, constant eye contact. It doesn't actually turn the victim to stone, merely paralyze them, and she can only use it on a single victim who's within five feet. She also can only hold the target for about five seconds, fellow supernaturals can resist, and it takes so much concentration that she can't use her venomous bite, though her snake hair can. Despite all that, it's still a very useful power.

Toxic Fangs: Seph can use her fangs to inject aa victim with a deadly neurotoxin that targets the victim's nerves, including those that control breathing and heartbeat. Her venom dose is so massive that paralysis sets in in about 30 seconds for a normal human, with death following from heart and lung failure in about 5 minutes. For supernaturals, effects could be delayed or nonexistent, depending upon physiology. Her snake hair has a similar venom, but effects take much longer to occur and fatalities are highly unlikely.

Fluent in Serpent: Seph can talk to snakes, but not control them, though she does have a degree of influence over the ones in her hair. As a couple of asides, she apparently has a thick viper accent, and she's heard all the Harry Potter jokes, which really annoy her.

Other- Seph wears a small silver amulet that disguises her as a human. Normal humans can't see through the illusion, but supernaturals can with the tiniest bit of effort.
